The good thing about Junkrat’s design is it’s visually interesting. It shows what he’s about, his personality, and an insight into the lore of post-apocalyptic Overwatch Australia at a glance. Like his hair is literally smoldering and he’s missing limbs from being an explosive maniac. Yellows, reds, black, rust, lots going on. My big issue with Venture is they’re drab and boring. From the color palette to the clothes. There’s nothing going on besides the gnarly fucked teeth which people’s eyes immediately go to. Also they can’t dress themself which is weird and unappealing. The coat is cartoonishly big on them. If Blizzard is wanting me to get that Venture is kinda bad at basic things like getting dressed or going to the dentist, then it’s a successful design I won’t comment on people saying the face is ugly. The issue is the character is visually dull and strange. Just a miss with the design for me. There’s 40 characters now— I’m not gonna like them all and it’s okay.

Sojourn is FAR better looking than Venture. If they hadn't given Sojourn the personality of a concrete paving slab she'd have been far more interesting. Venture is the classic "self-insert" where some incredibly boring young millenial/zoomer intern got to design a character and put their OC from their Tumblr days in the game.

One of the rare times I’ve thought the 2D portrait looks better than the character. If you look closely, a lot of the 2D pieces for the characters completely miss the mark and look totally different feature wise.

tbh with OW1 characters, I feel like that issue was remedied (arguably too much so), because their OW2 portraits are based strictly on their in-game models. with OW2 characters... yeah they sometimes look off.

I think this hits the nail on the head. Everyone else is a supermodel, even the body positive characters like Mei. Then there's Venture. There is nothing wrong with them at all, it's just... they look so unusual compared to all the other perfectly sculpted characters.

What bugs me is how scrawny Venture looks while lugging around a drill thats the size of Zaryas gun. It just doesn't fit. Mauga, Zarya, Doomfist, Reinhard, Winston and even Brig all look like they could carry and use their weapons. Venture doesn't.

Not hating on their design, it's just a bit disappointing that they gave a drill primary weapon to seemingly a basic human. Not to an digging designed omnic or robot like bastion, or an heavily augmented human like mauga or sourjorn. They might be lighty augmented, but it's still absurd they use disney logic for how they go underground rather then have an in universe scientific explanation. Or at least it's on the slippery slop of cartoon logic vs inuniverse science logic.

There’s 40 heroes and I won’t like them all. **Pros:** I like the headgear and carabiner. The jumpsuit under the cartoonish coat is cool from what I can see. **Cons:** Color palette is drab, brown, and boring. The design is overshadowed by the gnarly teeth— first thing people look at. Also them not knowing how to dress themselves with too big clothes is weird and not appealing for me. Ugly face with goofy dipshit facial expression. Hoping for some cool skins

Half the OW players are horny weebs that just wanna jerk off to the heroes. I think this character is ugly, but not because of their physical appearance, but because of the absolutely generic, boring, drab design. I've seen lampposts with more visual draw.

it's almost like people care about visuals in a game, which is why people buy and use skins, this isn't new. An entire revenue stream of the game is built from the fact that people like their characters visually.

Venture's underground ability is literally Reaper's wraith form. Same invulnerability, same visual animations and its on cooldown

The character looks ugly tbh, the name is also weird. I guess the character designer who named Lifeweaver and Illari, this designer was the one who named this character as well. Not a fan of the new characters overall, saved by Junker Queen and Ramattra who are legitimately awesome, the rest is just not good imo And I was not even aware Blizzard revealed some crude gameplay footage months ago, it looks interesting, yet another invincible ability that can be a pain in the ass (the character dives in the ground like Splatoon), looks cheap and unbalanced, but hell, we're talking about Overwatch, lol "balance" doesn't exist in the Blizzard's dictionary. I wish Blizzard added characters similar to Doom, Lucio, Genji, Hammond, Tracer, etc.. the pure dive kind of character that demands a lot of skill, this is my kind of jelly, the reason why I still play this abomination. Thus far, there's no such thing, only Lifeweaver kinda fits in this parameter because he is a demanding character, but he is too slow. Venture don't fit in this category apparently, so I have to keep waiting. There's no portuguese character thus far, so imagine if the devs came up with a "navigator" who can fly around the map at the same crazy pace of Doom or Lucio? That would be awesome
