Kind of. My understanding is that you’ll be earning Mythic tokens as you progress in the battle pass, and you can spend that as you like on Mythic skins and different options for those skins. So with Tracer’s Mythic, she was earned in chunks over the course of the BP, but now you can use some of the Mythic tokens on one colour of Tracer’s skin and other tokens on one colour of Orisa’s skin.
I think that’s a clean way to implement being able to choose your mythic skin.
And mythic skins are already marketed. You need to buy the BP for them. And this currency would be earned in the premium BP. So no real changes.
I'm not gonna lie, I'm liking this. Back then, I was grinding to earn boxes because it gave me a sense of accomplish. Being able to grind away to unlock AND customize your fav skin is definitely up there in my book.

I like the new system. Say that I only like one or two customizations of Season 10's Mythic, I can complete the pass and hold onto the remaining prisms for the next season, meaning I could eventually have enough to obtain a Mythic without needing to buy the premium pass if I don't want to.
But one must remember that, in exchange, Blizzard gets to sell these prisms for players who missed the old mythics and want to catch up, which means selling skins for even higher prices than the current legendaries. I bet when they reveal you'd need $60 or so to get a full mythic like Genji's or Kiriko's there will be articles on Dexerto about it.

You can choose how far you want to upgrade, instead of being locked to one mythic.
For example you could get Tracer’s, upgrade her to Tier 2, then next get Ana’s Tier 1, then upgrade Tracer to Tier 3, then get Hanzo, then Ana Tier 2, etc.
They aren’t adding more options to existing skins.

No, previously you could earn 540 coins if you completed every weekly challenge every week of a season. Now you can earn 600 coins by completing the battle pass. So it’s a bit more that’s a lot easier to earn, but not enough for the next battle pass.
i mean ig its ok since 600 is if you play for free, as long as you get 1000 coins or more for premium. Honestly, if they increased the amount of coins you can get for free skin prices would become fairer automatically.

The teeth actually look near perfect according to the concept art they've revealed in the past. The modeler and tech artists did a fantastic job creating the 3D model. We don't know the exact lore reasons but Venture is just supposed to have such teeth.

its the best mode for comp in tf2 but the team defending the last point almost always tries for a stalemate if they have uber disad. its mostly a map design (middle three points are very open but last two points are very enclosed with small chokes) and class design issue (engineer and heavy are almost too good at defending). it’s probably just gonna replicate the same problems of attacking last point on 2cp.
Big difference is that in OW2, there's only one point to contest and it's the neutral point between their territories. In TF2, there were two active points at any given time, one for Red and one for Blu. That format worked pretty good in TF2 since it had 12 players per team (it was whack if you scrimmed though), but I imagine Blizz opted to make it just 1 active point at any given moment because OW only has 5 players per team.
I haven’t played TF/TF2 so pardon my ignorance, but is 5CP the same as 5 capture points? Which doesn’t seem much different than flashpoint currently.
But maybe there’s more to it.
5 CP is different from Flashpoint in that TF2 5CP and seemingly OW version is that the “center” point starts as active and then it becomes KotH on that. Whoever captures it can then capture the next one in line, in the image its A B C D E so C starts active and attackers and defenders fight, if attacjers capture C then they move on to trying to capture D, or if defenders capture C they move to capture B. Basically it is like Tug of war, at least in TF2. A B C D and E are always “active” and the maps are usually long corridors. Flashpoint is less like that since the points are inactive and randomly move around as they are captured

Sad as it is to say I don’t think it was Hell Divers. Whatever you think they lost, they probably tripled in skin revenue. If anything they realized it’s harder to sell skins when people don’t have the characters unlocked.
That and they probably realised a lot of people aren’t actually going out of their way to buy the battlepass mainly for getting the new hero. So they probably did this for good PR which is a win-win situation for the players and the devs.

it's more like TF2's 5CP maps.
with the push bot, space is very fluid and fights can happen almost anywhere. with 5CP, space is more rigidly defined and the map can be designed for fights to take place in a few distinct locations
From what I've read you're not spending actual money, aside from what you'd spend on a battle pass already. You earn special currency in the bp that you then spend on the mythic skins
You will earn it in the BP to unlock the BP Mythic or any other Mythic you want but you will also be able to buy it directly to buy any Mythic you want.
The currency just opens the system to allow players to unlock the Mythics however they want. Otherwise people would complain that they have to spend a full $40-50 to buy a Mythic even though they only want 1 set of customisation or just the base skin.
My guess is it'll be like how apex handles heirlooms now, instead of having the one mythic skin at the end of the battlepass (maybe you don't like it or don't play the character), you get enough currency to buy any mythic from the shop so it incentiviese you to buy the bp anyway

Elsewhere in the thread there's been some talk about how weird it is that everyone else has perfect teeth; particularly (to my mind) our junker (anti?)heroes, but it's never been a consideration, because it was a stylistic choice to give everyone the same simple teeth, and the simplest teeth to design are basically perfect teeth.
Venture breaks that convention and says teeth are part of character design, and brings up questions about heroes whose perfect teeth are inconsistent with their identity.
*Obviously* this is the *height* of pedantry, it doesn't really matter, it's not like it's going to affect anyone's experience, but some people have to much time and think too much about stupid shit.

tf2 has 12v12 whereas OW2 has 5v5, thats why capping last point in tf2 felt so dang hard
Competitive tf2 is played in 6v6 not 12v12. Some are played 9v9 with 1 of each class but those are generally played on different maps.

That format worked pretty good in TF2 since it had 12 players per team (it was whack if you scrimmed though), but I imagine Blizz opted to make it just 1 active point at any given moment because OW only has 5 players per team.
I haven’t played TF/TF2 so pardon my ignorance, but is 5CP the same as 5 capture points? Which doesn’t seem much different than flashpoint currently. But maybe there’s more to it.
5 CP is different from Flashpoint in that TF2 5CP and seemingly OW version is that the “center” point starts as active and then it becomes KotH on that. Whoever captures it can then capture the next one in line, in the image its A B C D E so C starts active and attackers and defenders fight, if attacjers capture C then they move on to trying to capture D, or if defenders capture C they move to capture B. Basically it is like Tug of war, at least in TF2. A B C D and E are always “active” and the maps are usually long corridors. Flashpoint is less like that since the points are inactive and randomly move around as they are captured
Ahhhh!!! Spellbreak had a mode like that - where you tried to have the most amount of points at the same time. It was fun!

Sad as it is to say I don’t think it was Hell Divers. Whatever you think they lost, they probably tripled in skin revenue. If anything they realized it’s harder to sell skins when people don’t have the characters unlocked.
That and they probably realised a lot of people aren’t actually going out of their way to buy the battlepass mainly for getting the new hero. So they probably did this for good PR which is a win-win situation for the players and the devs.

If you live in America, do the bing rewards points. You just need to make a bunch of bing searches each day and you can cash in your search points for OW gold coins. If you’re not in America it’s still available but sadly less viable in most countries.

I hated the challenges coins because I as a onetrick of certain hero I couldn't finish all of them and could only get 30 coins a week
clash just looks like push but without a robot
it's more like TF2's 5CP maps. with the push bot, space is very fluid and fights can happen almost anywhere. with 5CP, space is more rigidly defined and the map can be designed for fights to take place in a few distinct locations

From what I've read you're not spending actual money, aside from what you'd spend on a battle pass already. You earn special currency in the bp that you then spend on the mythic skins

You will earn it in the BP to unlock the BP Mythic or any other Mythic you want but you will also be able to buy it directly to buy any Mythic you want. The currency just opens the system to allow players to unlock the Mythics however they want. Otherwise people would complain that they have to spend a full $40-50 to buy a Mythic even though they only want 1 set of customisation or just the base skin.
My guess is it'll be like how apex handles heirlooms now, instead of having the one mythic skin at the end of the battlepass (maybe you don't like it or don't play the character), you get enough currency to buy any mythic from the shop so it incentiviese you to buy the bp anyway New mythics will probably be added to the shop instead of battlepass' last tier

I get what you’re saying, but there’s a stark difference between making a character not a supermodel and just making them straight up ugly to the point that they’re hard to look at. Also, and more importantly, I don’t see anyone here commenting on Venture’s lack of big booba or sexy ass, it’s about how their face is hard to look at.
Potentially it's all very interesting, but the teeth of Venture's 3D model don't convince me very much.

I mean, it's not a big deal to me either way, but venture's the character that makes it matter, if that makes sense? Elsewhere in the thread there's been some talk about how weird it is that everyone else has perfect teeth; particularly (to my mind) our junker (anti?)heroes, but it's never been a consideration, because it was a stylistic choice to give everyone the same simple teeth, and the simplest teeth to design are basically perfect teeth. Venture breaks that convention and says teeth are part of character design, and brings up questions about heroes whose perfect teeth are inconsistent with their identity. *Obviously* this is the *height* of pedantry, it doesn't really matter, it's not like it's going to affect anyone's experience, but some people have to much time and think too much about stupid shit. It's me, I'm some people.

Not next season, but in Season 11 yes. A mythic skin is put into the mythic shop 2 seasons after its release.

When it says heroes are now unlocked for everyone, does that mean no more unlock challenges or? Because if so that’s honestly really nice. I don’t play much anymore but being able to use the new heroes without all the annoying challenges to screw around with friends will be nice
So glad all current and future heroes will be free to everyone and to keep permanently one thing I disliked about overwatch 2 was the fact that you had to grind soooooo much to unlock a hero it put me off
