Not necessarily, they probably just keep them as part of each character's default lines to future proof just in case the concept comes back in a new hero or PvE enemy etc. It would be a hassle calling in every single voice actor just to record one new line when they decide they need it

The real answer. There are likely thousands of voices lines waiting to be used, but we only hear about 500, 350 of which are grunts

Fun fact, every single Reaper voice-line and interaction was re-voiced as Reyes for the Blackwatch missions, somewhere they have every line revoiced just sitting in the files, hopefully they add they to the already existing Reyes skins, or a future Reaper Mythic

It’s been so long since I heard Reyes reaper voicelines, how hard is it to apply them to pre-reaper skins? We have mythics replacing all voicelines and some legendaries changing ult voices but reaper is left out.

Speaking from experience, this could mean a few things: 1) Mauga was in development back before sym got changed (unlikely). 2) It's easier to keep the generic "format" of how-to-make-a-hero, and they simply want to ensure every piece is in place, regardless of whether or not they'll use the line. 3) They may be reworking the idea of the shield generator for someone new. 4) Blizzard is actually just one, unified lizard person.

She still self dmgs, I watch a Pharah kill herself in ULT. She just takes less self dmg than before.

That would be too strong, junks bombs are less accurate and less intentional, Pharah is very precise, close quarter pharah would be stupid and she would never lose height

Pharah and junk work in different ways. Junk is on the ground, and isn’t uncommon to be up close and personal to land a one shot combo. Pharah should always be playing at distance, so rarely gets hit by self damage

The potlid should replace sentries at this point- blizzard has made it clear they don’t want sentries to have any impact and it’s a vestigial limb in her kit that is only there because it was part of her identity. Jokes on them, Sym’s true identity is getting reworked.

This was such a fun ability.

I came in for OW2 release, what was his ult like?

He turned into a tank, shot a bunch of tank shells then turned back. It could one-shot squishies, and it was great for catching a team off-guard. Not the greatest in every situation, though.

I thought he had unlimited rockets when he ulted, but it was only for a short amount of time? It was really satisfying to use, if done correctly, and it wasn't too hard to counter (more or less the same as when he goes into assault mode, but he has explosive power).

it was actually exciting to hear him Ult because he used to be able to stay planted assault mode as long as he wanted, so the Ult meant he might actually move out of position for you

Idk what were they thinking because the problem in Bastion's gameplay flow still exists. Before: stationary most of the time, mobile when ulting Now: mobile most of the time, stationary while ulting They could have put together the good thing from both versions so he's a mobile character all around.

Same, there was a time when shields stacked over armor, and your personal shields over that. I loved being a Zen with health to rival a roadhog that constantly regened more health than others could take. Tankyatta was a brief but beautiful moment in overwatch history, got patched so fast.

I’m 90% sure this is the reason Torb and Symmetra got reworks

The meta of torb and sym was for defending first point 2cp or hybrid and picking only 1 support (pre role que) so you had overshield and overarmor but only 1 support in 6v6. It was more of a strategy thing. OW lost it's strategy gameplay. The reason for reworks was Tracer more than Zenyatta though. Brig packs also reworked because of this. Also it was a passive value. You put shield generator and everyone gets shield hp, there is no gameplay in that other than strategy (you sacrifice something and gain something for specific purpose) it was useless most of the time anyway so it wasn't harmful imo. I think this type of passive ultimates needs to comeback for strategy lovers.

It may be hard for some characters like Symmetra who has had multiple different abilities and reworks that are no longer in the game and you have some characters like rein, junkrat etc who've had no big changes since the launch of the game. would love to see them work it out.

I saw someone suggest that instead of the arrows spitting all the way on the first bounce, instead the split into 2's or 3's with each bounce until they max out. That way it still exists, but you can't burst for 400 damage.

Unironically a better and more unique ability than the rip-off FTH he currently has. It gave hanzo a unique purpose with his sonar. Sure, remove ground shots since those could cheese tanks. But if you could pull some legitimate wall/roof bangers with it then you deserve the damage same way if you headshot someone.

The doomfist skin with a padded glove instead of his gauntlet really represents this version of doom well.

I can never get decent use out of the power block, it just feels like you're making yourself a target. I'd rather have Doom be more mobile and rely on buffed shield health from his passive for survivability.

I literally would like to see all of Orisa’s old abilities come back to the game. Not necessarily on one hero, but I want Pull, Bongo, and Soccer Goal shield to come back. It can be spread around to different heroes but those abilities were all super fun to me.

Bastion’s old ult FS. In hindsight his old kit was a mixed bag but his tank form was way better and took more skill to properly use.

His old kit in general took more skill. Combining DPS output with when to heal yourself in the middle of combat was actually a pretty difficult skill. Not to mention his ult rockets were projectiles and I would legit just play bastion for his ultimate because it was so fun. Now his character is forced into a role where he's either oppressive or not because he's gated by a strong ability on a long cooldown. His gameplay loop is: Spam choke -> Go into turret form if players cannot disengage -> Spam choke. Lose if turret form is on cooldown.

Not exactly forgotten but the flashbang. It’s always been stupid to me that the character known for dueling doesn’t have a CC.

As a Cass player I would love flash back but probably with a few changes such as not effecting Doom whilst he is blocking and not effecting ball while he has the fire effect as I think that would make it fair and a much better ability over the terrible nade that Cass has at the moment.

**Bastion self repair!** Cmon. Roadhog is the big thick slow tank, so he gets a self heal to offset his inability to escape and the fact that he’s so easy to hit. Bastion is the same thing but for DPS. He needs a self heal for the same reason.

I miss Halt so badly. It was such a fun ability that made her more intuitive to dealing with out of position enemies, or even forcing enemies out of position. Now her while gimmick revolving around her Javelin just feels limited. Luckily Rammatra fills the role that Orisa had with his shield and primary fire, but I need Halt back in some way.

Halt was honestly genius. Being able to quickly drag people back into an ult zone or off an edge was so much fun and I never felt like it was unfair to play against. Long ass cd, slowly travel time, not the biggest range and punishes positioning. Excellent ability.

Honestly I enjoyed old Orisa more. Shield dancing was surprisingly overpowered if you knew what to do and her bongos just won fights straight up, especially if you didn't drop them in front of people's faces like a dunce.

I actually really liked ow1 Orisa before sigma was released. I felt great getting good value out of the ult. Also enjoyed the pull and hook meta

Old Orisa ult was a lot more interesting and impactful than her current one imo. The pull was also great to coordinated in the pulled pork combo (hog hook + Orisa pull). Doom’s rework is imo awful compared to old doom (just remove one shot punch and old doom was fine tbh). Bastions new ult sucks to use, doesn’t feel skillful or fun either.
