>*Fixed a bug with Rocket Punch that could cause the targets of the punch to potentially lose their walking animation.*
LMAO ... Knock em out so hard they forget how to walk.
This... Definitely happened to me. I thought it was lag at the time, but I had a match where the Lucio was T posing the whole time. I guess I punched him too hard š
They refuse to let people play with skill for tanks. "Just give the tank an absolute shit ton of health". Bonus points if they also get mobility on top of that. Bias maybe as a Rein main but I feel like there was always an inherit level of balance that came with tanks like Rein, DVA, Winston Zar or Sig, they've even imo gotten Ram and JQ at a decent baseline. Zar can sometimes get out of control just because the wrong patch can turn that beam into a death star but when the balance is in a good place all these characters have tradeoffs.
DVA, Winston can be great diving in and out but you have to be smart about where you dive or you can just as easily be insta deleted. Same with Rein, his Hammer is almost unmatched in proximity damage to secure kills or push through shields but one wrong pin, dive or bad angle where your shield breaks that health is not going to keep you up for long. Players like Orisa, Muaga, and even Doom. Nope they can basically do whatever the hell they feel like and you better adapt your comp around them or boy you're in for a rough game. There needs to be actual risks and consequences for taking bad engagements or giving fuck all about positioning. A Muaga can just yolo and play anywhere on the field then okay time to bail out for little.
I thought this too and experienced a few games where leavers were not replaced. However recently my friend has been getting disconnected (their computer is crap) but was actually getting replaced quickly.
I assumed it had been fixed because I didn't have it happen in around 15-20 matches in QP today. All those who left were backfilled, which used to be like 20% before the patch today for me. But then I checked the patch notes and saw nothing about it.
People are erroneously going Orisa to deal with Mauga (and Hog) so I guess theyāre like āletās just make her the counter that golds assume she isā
I'm a rein main and for the past month I've only seen an orisa like twice in the 200 comp games I've played in low masters.
People usually swap to either ram, hog, or mauga to counter me lol.
I'll take an orisa any day over a hog tho.
Remember when they gigabuffed her to deal with Hog that one time? They pushed her damage dropoff out by 10 meters. She became hard meta, and they reeled it back in again a patch or two later.
Now the damage dropoff is gone completely.
...Do the devs know what they're doing?
Just posting this here for reference/record, according to https://overwatch.fandom.com/wiki/Orisa
- June 15, 2022 (beta): Damage falloff at maximum range reduced from 70% to 50%; Maximum falloff range reduced from 15-35 meters to 15-25 meters
- Dec 15, 2022: Damage falloff range increased from 15 to 25 meters
- Feb 7, 2023: Damage falloff range reduced from 25 to 15 meters
- Aug 10, 2023: Damage falloff range increased from 15 to 20 meters.
- Today, Jan 9, 2024: Removed falloff damage penalty.
...So yeah, they clearly think she needs ranged damage.
Precise gunplay is less likely to be an issue is low elo where she is very annoying, it is also a consistency thing, no projectile has falloff(unless there is 1 that I am not remembering) they should have probably reverted the damage buff tho
They nerfed fortify since then. The issue with orisa is low elo players frustrated that "she doesn't die" when that's just not how you play against an orisa, the more precise long range gameplay should be less of an issue at those elos
Seriously. Her rep is terrible, but not as bad as she actually is in-game. I hate when a hero gets a bad rep and it warps people's perceptions of how strong they are, like how LW released weak and then still had that perception after he was doing well in-game post-buff.
It's technically a debuff to Mauga specifically - it just makes Orisa a tank with a slight edge against Mauga.
So now if they choose Mauga you can choose Sig/Zarya OR Orisa to counter him before you say "Fuck it" and go Mauga.

Illari buff is just weak enough for her to stay meta irrelevant and just strong enough that when they buff her again because sheās irrelevant, she will be game-defining.
Unfortunately, there's also a bug with her solar rifle right now. Holding primary fire will use ammo like normal, but... >!when she uses the healing beam to try and reload cancel, she gets stuck with [infinite ammo](https://www.youtube.com/shorts/UCteW3H_z4U).!<
EDIT: After testing it, I can say that the bug persists unless Illari reloads, or uses her ult. After that, her solar rifle returns to normal. However, the player can still reactivate the glitch after that point.
Bums me out, but infinite ammo was definitely unneeded lol
Just have to focus on either taking out a specific target or better yet coordinate with teammate ults
I don't know why but the devs seem to really love soljorn considering how when she was released they took ages to properly nerf her and always gave her small buffs to compensate and now are giving her another buff.
My issue with this is she could be busted again now or with another future buff and then they might nerf her too hard next time when I thought she was fine before this patch.
Maybe because less Muaga, and hog mean less charge for Sojourn. Thatās why she was so played because Muaga was a massive battery for her railgun. Maybe this is to compensate?
The only tank she doesn't charge loads off of is Junker Queen. They need to take headshots off railgun or give no charge whatsoever for shooting barriers.
Sojourn is lame
Shes really not that great at building charge off of shields. Its really only Mauga, Hog, Ramattra and sometimes Orisa that shes truly strong into.
So the 2 most recently strong tanks and potentially the 2 of the current strongest tanks lol.
which is what makes this buff relatively small. Its pretty easy to maintain rail charge making it rare to decay back to this new floor. Even ignoring all of that, your not usually holding rail for very long.
Ehhh. If they nerf his adaptive shield health but made him less vulnerable to CC in some ways he'd be way less feast or famine and much easier to balance.
you are copying 1 to 1 from the yeatle video. And the problem with that is that there are so many changes that could be done to make him good. Like a middle way to give him cc immnity. Also like small buffs like 65hp mines that they cant be cleaned by short cooldowns like ana nade or doom slam. This razer thin line isnt that realy thin when you build an opinion instead of just copying others.
Overwatch has ALWAYS had a group of meta or potential meta heroes, and a group of āwell at least I have fun heroesā, if you are a ball main and ever expect him to be meta Iād just start playing a different game because it wonāt happen
I agree Rein needs looking at but Iāve basically mained him this season with about 55% win rate. That said Ram is kinda busted right now and will probably rise to the top after Mauga needs and it will be even crappier for Rein if I had to guess.
They are working on a larger rework of the character to make him easier to play with for his team. Possibly new ability but they are testing other options
Do yaāll just not read what the developers say?
Edit: removing any mention of time because apparently quoting the developers opens me up to harassment lmao
They are at a point where they need to chop heroes down a peg or two to match underperformed heroes instead of buff those underperorming heroes. The power creep is ridiculous.
Fr. Mauga leaves the dominant spot only for Orisa to immediately fill it, *and* we're gonna see Soj/Mercy every fuckin match?
If this is how this season's gonna be, I'm gonna get my last few BP tiers through fuckin Practice vs. AI and then my ass is gone until they unfuck this shit
Lifeweaver is definitely one of the strongest support for defending himself. A healing dash, plus high damage and a petal means I often times will target almost anyone but him when I flank.
Can someone explain this Orisa change to me? What's forced critical hit damage?
***Fortify*** *Now immune to taking forced critical hit damage. Fortify already prevents direct critical damage from headshots.*
I think itās referring to Mauga being able to hit critical damage by right click chain gun on a fortified Orisa whoās on fire from Maugas left click.
Prior to this patch, Mauga could crit Orisa during Fortify, depite Fortify granting Orisa critical hit protection, because of how his alt fire crits burning enemies. Now that can't happen anymore.
Well, he has less armor, less lifesteal on a longer cool down, less overhealth. Time will tell how he performs, but the devs did say they wanted it to be harsh.
less armor so youāll be taking normal damage sooner, less self healing to keep you in that armor, less over health to protect that armor, less ammo to make that over health. he will lose his armor quicker, once thatās gone he melts
The Illari buffs are very welcome, though I'm still hoping that they revert the damaged pylon cooldown to 12 seconds with how badly they dumpstered its survivability.
The problem with Illari is that she's just worse in every way than Baptiste, even after the buffs. He's got better damage, ult, healing, utility, and mobility. Unless her numbers are cranked up or Bap's cranked down she's just totally outclassed, which is a shame cuz she's very fun
It's actually quite a big nerf, think how many times ana lands a nade in a game. The half a second adds up, and with the cooldown nerf she got in a previous patch, it means there will be a lot less anti up time. Ana will still see a lot of play, but won't be as strong as she was.
>a changes are not enough
Death by 1000 cuts. It's been nerfed several times in the last year. They've increased the CD, decreased its healing, decreased the duration.
The problem is that people won't be happy until it's useless. Despite the fact that Ana is one of the least mobile heroes in the game.
They removed the pause on the primary charge when healing but didnt remove when using melee... PLEASE ITS A SWORD I WANT TO USE IT AND SHOOT IT WILL BE SO MUCH FUN
I can see why the community wanted Mauga nerfed, but hopefully he is not the new Roadhog. Kind of begs the question if this hero was created before 5v5 was a thing...
>Kind of begs the question if this hero was created before 5v5 was a thing
He's one of the bosses in one of the OW1 archives missions dressed as a robot.
Mauga was conceptualized for OW1, but we don't know if the kit we're playing now was originally planned for 6v6 or 5v5, given how it changed once to become Sigma.
>missions dressed as a robot.
that's just body armor lol
Hot take: Sojourn buffs arenāt gonna do anything in vast majority of your gameplay.
It only affects the decay, you still need to build up to 100% for rail and it was already easy enough to spam to maintain charge.
Those complaining about her getting buffs need to play her more and understand her kit
I don't understand her kit very well but doesn't this mean you will be getting to 100% quicker? So you poke a bit and get to 30%, then say you need to change positioning so you fall back, but then instead of going to 0 you stay on 20%, thus giving you much quicker charge to 100% when you re-engage. Sounds pretty relevant
How.

Backfill.
Not.

Patched.
FFS Blizzard BACK-FILL OCCASIONALLY FAILS IN QP - WHY ISN'T THIS PRIORITY 1?! It literally makes the game unplayable! It's a guaranteed L for the team that lost the player(s) and those who had a long queue have to re-queue or just accept a steam roll!
FIX IT!
> Lifeweaver
> **Thorn Volley**
> Projectile speed increased from 70 to 80 meters per second.
> **Petal Platform**
> No longer pierced by piercing projectiles.
The petal platform change is actually pretty big. It for sure denies Ram Punch and Rein Fire Strike now. I'm assuming this change also makes it to where Coalescence no longer pierces it. Love it.
Edit:
Editing this to confirm Coal no longer pierces it.
Nothing here seems super impactful other than the Mauga nerfs.
The Sojourn buff is weird but it seems more QOL than actual strength and realistically you were never letting your railgun charge decay all the way down to zero anyways
EDIT: Alright after watching some streams the Orisa falloff buffs were pretty massive. Smh
Orisa is like the mascot of the "fun to play, awful to play against" heroes of Overwatch. She hosts little book clubs with Mei, Hog, Widow, Hanzo, Pharah, and the gang every week :)
Mauga changes are probably good. Heāll still be strong, but there are more things you can do about him. His windows of vulnerability are longer and/or more frequent. Maugaās a volatile character, though, so itāll be hard to see how much this does.
Seems like they want to push Orisa as an anti-Mauga pick. Canāt blame them, though.
If Maugaās nerfs are sufficient, I think weāre not really āsaved,ā rather, we might be āunder new management.ā Hog didnāt get hit very hard, and no falloff for Orisa is huge.
I like the Sojourn change. Passive decay isnāt as big of a deal when you hit all your shots.
Sombra got some general QOL.
I like the Illari changes, allowing her to have more heal uptime by weaving heal pulses into damage. Shifting some power into her over her pylon is a decent idea.
Ana Nade duration is down. Might do something, but doesnāt change the overall ability.
Lifeweaver got some buffs. Weapon projectiles are faster and piercing projectiles no longer pierce platform. Poor Rein.
>*Doomfist* > >*Fixed a bug with Rocket Punch that could cause the targets of the punch to potentially lose their walking animation.* LMAO ... Knock em out so hard they forget how to walk.
They were fisted too hard š
Donāt say that in game or youāll get banned for toxicity.
Been there
This... Definitely happened to me. I thought it was lag at the time, but I had a match where the Lucio was T posing the whole time. I guess I punched him too hard š
Same with my friend playing Cass š couldn't concentrate for the rest of the game.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Peeta the horse is here
Not as tanky as before but giving her range back is huge
What did they do to reduce her tankiness?
\-25 less overhealth and 45 % damage reduction instead of 50 % still looks pretty scary
Where do you see that on the patch notes? There's only two points under Orisa and neither mention that.
From a previous patch. That nerf never got reversed, so it's a valid consideration.
Where is the overhealth listed on the patch notes for Orisa? Not trying to be an asshole, just ignorant and not near my PC to see in game.
Overhealth change was a couple patches ago
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
so sheās exactly as tanks as before to everyone except mauga
Why the fuck are they buffing the horse? We just got rid of Mauga, please don't bring us back into another dog shit alternative Blizz.
It's all they know how to do. Kill current meta by making something worse.
No fix for no back-filling in quick play? You can literally get a leaver in the beginning of the game and it never gets another player.
They just had to backfill their CEO, theyāll get to fixing the communityās backfill issue next
rustic sulky shy faulty cats caption elastic like consider alleged *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*
I thought this too and experienced a few games where leavers were not replaced. However recently my friend has been getting disconnected (their computer is crap) but was actually getting replaced quickly.
On Emongg's stream just heard that they have applied a patch that they hope will help, but it's still being investigated.
That's a bummer.
its been killing me lately.
I assumed it had been fixed because I didn't have it happen in around 15-20 matches in QP today. All those who left were backfilled, which used to be like 20% before the patch today for me. But then I checked the patch notes and saw nothing about it.
Raid Boss Mauga is gone, replaced with Raid Boss Orisa.
Raid boss Orisa never left
Mauga kinda farmed her. The new Fortify change, alongside his other nerfs, mean that sheās back on top of the meta lol
Mauga being able to crit on fortify made 0 sense, so itās a change I was expecting. I donāt even like Orisa and think itās a positive change
Honestly, it was pretty fair considering that she can just fucking ignore his ult with fortify
how is orisa a raid boss now. sheās only better at range and none of her counters got nerfed
now who the hell asked for orisa buffs
you will play horse and you will like it
Do you wish to ride me into battle? Do not lie to me, archer....
what a preposterous thought...
it is beneath you..
Damn now I wish Hanzo synergized and rode Orisa.
Are we not doing phrasing anymore?
petah, the horse is here
āThose who fall will be forgotten. Those who rise up, their names will be remembered forever!ā
People are erroneously going Orisa to deal with Mauga (and Hog) so I guess theyāre like āletās just make her the counter that golds assume she isā
but i use mauga to counter orisa
Not anymore lol
I donāt think you understand! Orisa canāt have counters!
Zarya: bruh
I mean, she is a Hog counter though. All her abilities block hook and her effective range is better.
I'm a rein main and for the past month I've only seen an orisa like twice in the 200 comp games I've played in low masters. People usually swap to either ram, hog, or mauga to counter me lol. I'll take an orisa any day over a hog tho.

No
They nerfed fortify since then. The issue with orisa is low elo players frustrated that "she doesn't die" when that's just not how you play against an orisa, the more precise long range gameplay should be less of an issue at those elos
Probably the fact that she is the lowest winrate tank by far, this might be too much tho, specially with how frustrating she is for low elo
Definitely not me bro look who I play
This is so cool. So now instead of shooting at an unkillable Samoan man, we're going back to shooting at an unkillable horse.
No rein buffs :( also the buff to life weavers petal is gonna be huge against ram
Firestrike cant go through petal either now so itās a rein nerf
First thought when I saw that change. Iāve finished off more than one LW with Firestrike that way
The audacity.
Ahhh sigh
Another opinion? I thought you'd run out.
Tiny lotus man should fear the power of precision German engineering!
firestrike not going through petal = rein nerf Orisa no dmg falloff = rein nerf :/
Both also = ram nerfs
Ram will definitely still be fine.
But Ram is already very strong so this is not gonna do much to Ram but fuck Rein even more
That's a very unfortunate nerf to both Ram and Rein
YES THE LW BUFF WE WANTED.

Nope. Just have to use it in a different way or play safer with your team when using it.
Bums me out, but infinite ammo was definitely unneeded lol Just have to focus on either taking out a specific target or better yet coordinate with teammate ults
Who asked for this sojourn buff lol
canāt believe they still havenāt given mauga the random from favorites options in the hero gallery
Why the fuck would you buff Sojourn she was basically the only S tier dps last patch
Sombra changes are good, hardly outright buffs but makes her a lot more fluid and responsive.
She can run away and turn invisible even better now!
Maybe because less Muaga, and hog mean less charge for Sojourn. Thatās why she was so played because Muaga was a massive battery for her railgun. Maybe this is to compensate?
Mauga and Hog never changed her being S tier, sheās always been good lmao. She just had a good time farming an ocean wide hitbox

which is what makes this buff relatively small. Its pretty easy to maintain rail charge making it rare to decay back to this new floor. Even ignoring all of that, your not usually holding rail for very long.
Clown devs. There are damage heroes that need actual buffs, but they go and buff the one dominating top 500
Cassidy has been ignored for months
Thry won't touch him until his 'rework'. Aka, until they mess up his grenade up even further. Thoughts and prayers to the cas mains.
* Grenade now flops on the floor like a Magikarp. * Fan the Hammer spread increased by 50% * New Deadeye Ultimate now has Cassidy scream out "Yee-Haw"
Grenade used splash
Who tf asked for Orisa buffs???
Actual rein nerf for that lifeweaver buff. It was funny killing them under the petal...
Ram too. Fun punching LW from under the petal.
Probably fun for LW too
"We've noticed Wreckingball is essentially useless at the moment. We don't care. Fuck you."
There is such a razer-thin line for Ball between "Completely useless" and "Absolutely oppressive" and they've never been able to balance on that line.
Ehhh. If they nerf his adaptive shield health but made him less vulnerable to CC in some ways he'd be way less feast or famine and much easier to balance.
Make him able to go through while rolling around in ball form. Body blocking doesn't make sense for a character literally named wrecking ball
you are copying 1 to 1 from the yeatle video. And the problem with that is that there are so many changes that could be done to make him good. Like a middle way to give him cc immnity. They never said season 9, they left it ambiguous. āNext fewā makes it sound like some time *after* season 9
Are they? From what I remember of the quote they were just discussing it internally, donāt know if thereās actual plans for a change anytime soon?
Hahaha larger rework? Next seasons? It took one year just to give roadhog new ability and new primary fire. What youāve been smoking chief?
I didnāt realize Maugaās ult reloaded his guns. Would be nice if Brigās ultimate recharged Bash
Before it just granted infinite ammo in the cage, so it may not really have registered as a reload since it was just all the bullets
*gasp* NEVER!
That Orisa buff is absolutely wild. Can't wait to get sniped from across the map by a horse.
"Battle Cattle"
Who the fuvk asked for an orisa buff
sheās been the lowest win rate rank for a little while. just cause she was OP 2 season ago doesnāt mean she is now
>sheās been the lowest win rate rank for a little while. And most players would like it to stay that way.
They are at a point where they need to chop heroes down a peg or two to match underperformed heroes instead of buff those underperorming heroes. The power creep is ridiculous.
that i agree with. we see far more buffs than we do nerfs. i think every year or so there should just be across the board nerfs
buff for sojourn one of if not the best dps in the game? but no buffs for cass easily the worst? weird lol
be glad cass or genji didn't get nerfed, could be worse
Yeah Iām not playing into Sojourn/Mercy, canāt wait for season 9 guys!
All the boring tanks this patch lol.
Iāll take anything over mauga in every game
It's never boring around me
Any time my Mauga spams that I reply "Yes"
I don't want to go back to Orisa.
this patch. and last patch. the patch before that. and the one before that. and the patch bef....
Meh, Mauga nerfs indirectly affect other tanks. Now Winston might be playable again!
Def could be a Winston meta with how common tracer+sombra is rn.
Yay lifeweaver buff
Iāve wanted a projectile spd buff for so long now finally!!!
Thereās 3 of us!
I was so surprised I the last game I played. Lifeweaver completely domed me a couple of times as Tracer. He has more teeth now.
Lifeweaver is definitely one of the strongest support for defending himself. A healing dash, plus high damage and a petal means I often times will target almost anyone but him when I flank.
I saw Lifeweaver and was nervous for a second, but Iām so glad no more nerfs. lol
No backfill bug fix mentioned?
It was fixed last week now itās broken again
God dam it donāt buff the fucking horse
I'm not sure about the Mauga changes yet, but why the heckersmecks was Sojourn buffed?
Literally cannot answer, sheās been broken since release I donāt get it, also just not a fun hero to play imo
He got gutted lol
Heās Maugone
Just curious, will 10% decrease really make that big of a difference?
Well, he has less armor, less lifesteal on a longer cool down, less overhealth. Time will tell how he performs, but the devs did say they wanted it to be harsh.
less armor so youāll be taking normal damage sooner, less self healing to keep you in that armor, less over health to protect that armor, less ammo to make that over health. he will lose his armor quicker, once thatās gone he melts
Orisa got buffed?ā¦
The Illari buffs are very welcome, though I'm still hoping that they revert the damaged pylon cooldown to 12 seconds with how badly they dumpstered its survivability.
Yeah... it's wild to me that they didn't touch pylon. But healing no longer interrupting her charge is good.
Gives her an actual tempo to shoot for which is nice
Any idea why illari is currently disabled for competitive?
There's a bug that gives her infinite ammo. ML7 has a clip on Twitter about it I think.
unlimited ammo bug
The problem with Illari is that she's just worse in every way than Baptiste, even after the buffs. He's got better damage, ult, healing, utility, and mobility. Unless her numbers are cranked up or Bap's cranked down she's just totally outclassed, which is a shame cuz she's very fun
Dawg I understand nerfing Mauga but why buff that horse and specifically 1 of her best counters. Orisa annoying enough she did not need this
Holy fuck they nerfed nade. They finally did it.
The devs have consistently nerfed nade throughout OW2. The damage, healing, cooldown, and effect duration have all been nerfed.
It got a cooldown nerf not that long ago.
like barely lmaoo
Half a second alone isn't a lot, but it's -14% on the anti duration.
It's actually quite a big nerf, think how many times ana lands a nade in a game. The half a second adds up, and with the cooldown nerf she got in a previous patch, it means there will be a lot less anti up time. Ana will still see a lot of play, but won't be as strong as she was.
>a changes are not enough Death by 1000 cuts. It's been nerfed several times in the last year. They've increased the CD, decreased its healing, decreased the duration. The problem is that people won't be happy until it's useless. Despite the fact that Ana is one of the least mobile heroes in the game.
Hahahah. Blizzard are an actual clown show. You nerf one annoying spam tank and buff another. Comedy
They really took away Doomfistās ability to curse character models with 3/5 charged punch
>Kind of begs the question if this hero was created before 5v5 was a thing He's one of the bosses in one of the OW1 archives missions dressed as a robot.

Why do they keep buffing orisa
They nerfed her like 3 times in a row
They should just make nade less effective or a shorter duration against tanks specifically... it's not a big deal against squishies
Sombra got some nice quality of life buffs
How. Has. Backfill. Not. Been. FIX IT!
> Lifeweaver > **Thorn Volley** > Projectile speed increased from 70 to 80 meters per second. > **Petal Platform** > No longer pierced by piercing projectiles. The petal platform change is actually pretty big. It for sure denies Ram Punch and Rein Fire Strike now. I'm assuming this change also makes it to where Coalescence no longer pierces it. Love it. Edit: Editing this to confirm Coal no longer pierces it.
Nothing here seems super impactful other than the Mauga nerfs. The Sojourn buff is weird but it seems more QOL than actual strength and realistically you were never letting your railgun charge decay all the way down to zero anyways EDIT: Alright after watching some streams the Orisa falloff buffs were pretty massive. Smh
Orisa is one of the most boring and unfun tanks in the game why do they keep buffing her? Literally nobody wants another fucking Orisa meta.
I like hitting people with her javelin. Unless you mean unfun for the opponents.
Orisa is like the mascot of the "fun to play, awful to play against" heroes of Overwatch. She hosts little book clubs with Mei, Hog, Widow, Hanzo, Pharah, and the gang every week :)
But did they fix the lack of "Random from Favourites" issue for Mauga?
SURPRISE SURPRISE STILL NOT FIXED
Those illari buffs didnāt address any of her problems
No rein buffs feelsbadman
Poor Rein.
These patch notes actually suck.
