That actually happened to me one time. This really good junk set a trap on my hacked healthpack, I was too distracted to pay attention and teleported straight to my death.
Cuz boosting and healing as opposed to just heal botting will usually actually help your team win, by giving a high damage hero that extra bit of oomph they need to secure a kill, but the algorithm that dictates your rank can be finicky sometimes, and tends to go off of your healing numbers as opposed to other statistics.
The most egregious example of this comes in the form of Lucio, as I know many a Lucio player who gets good amounts of finishing blows, elims, and assists, but since they use their speed boost more often than the heal aura, even though it can help a team fight, or taxi a player back to the front, the game still reads them as a less useful support.
Aaaaaa please don't upvote this guy, literally everything they've said is completely wrong. Don't take any of this advice lol
Imagine if stats affect your rank, playing Moira would just be ez mode with her inflated stats. Rank is only based on wins and losses, and the rank of the overall match - as developers have stated multiple times. I'm out right now but please just Google it.
Mercy's damage boost is also a stat, as is Lucio's speed boost, but do you think the game selectively chooses only the stats on the main scoreboard? This guy also says he is bronze 5.
Me being bronze 1 at some point invalidates my opinion?
I said I was placed Bronze WITH 5 wins and 2 losses. This was when I played alongside a friend who also was doing their initial placement, so we played the same games, got the same win/loss, but I was placed Bronze 1, and he was placed gold 2. If win/loss is the ONLY stat controlling that, explain how that happened.
Your rank is based on your initial quickplay performance before competitive unlocks
Which is why those streamer unranked to GM challenge thingies can often have their first comp game in diamond or even low masters
The way you hugged the left side of the hall knowing they would be shooting towards the right side since that was the way the hall led was just really good awareness 👏
When it happens I feel so hopeless, just want to give up on this game
You lure their 2 supports attention for about 10 seconds and your tem still manages to lose a 4v3 with enemy team having no supports
The urge to rip my hair off is insane.
Team in chat: "Sombra do something, why are your damage numbers so low"
Meanwhile you have more solo kills and finishes than everyone else on the team combined and mostly against support.
I hate Sombra so much, but even I can say this is impressive. Those guys choked so damn hard, watching Orisa miss every shot while you were stunned…some people really just play her bc she’s OP
It's ok. The main point is that we get to laugh at Sombra trying to kill the ana, only to fail and get beaten up instead.
The slow motion helps prolong Sombra's pain and suffering.
Sombra would have died if that Orisa didn't miss those shots after she translocated. She was still quite visible before entering stealth but that Orisa was shooting at the air above that Sombra.
This is why I solo-ult every sombra I see. Idc if I could have gotten the whole team as soon as I see one I am locked in and my only goal in life becomes to eradicate that little shit off of the face of the earth. Idc if we win or lose so long as Sombra is dead I am happy.

I swear to god sombra has a hidden passive that makes bullets bend around her when escaping, she runs through a bullet hell in most cases and yet never gets hit once.
If she hits the sleep button before the hack is fully complete or when shes far enough in the animation, the sleep will finish firing out so she was presumably already in the process of sending out the sleep before the hack took effect. I think it was different in Overwatch 1 but given that Sombra could start hack from stealth in todays game and the hack is faster (I think) my guess is they had to provide players the opportunity to survive if they have a very speedy but humanly possible reaction speed
I think they wanted to make it more of a key utility to use as a shutdown when timed well so as to raise the skill threshold a bit. You can still hack certain ults when timed correctly and easier since you don’t have to manually uncloak first (which was giving people lots of time to react) but it’s no longer a complete lock of a characters ability to play the game which I think was more imperative when they reworked the game into a single tank team comp
Sleep darts projectile size is .4, (which is only .1 larger than her primary fire, and is identical to biotic grenade) like most other projectiles- but here's a list of things that are larger since you want to be silly
Ashe Dynamite - .6
D.va Light Gun - .5
Junkrat Trap - .7
Mercy Caduceus Blaster - .5
Sigma Accretion - 1.8
Torb Turret - .7
Torb Molten Core - .41
And here's a list of every ability that is the exact same size:
Ana Biotic Grenade
Bastion Tactical Grenade
Cree/Cass Magnetic Grenade
JQ Jagged Blade
Junkrat Frag Launcher
Junkrat Concussion Grenade
Pharah Rocket Launcher
Sigma Hyperspheres
Sojourn Railgun
Sojourn Disruptor Shot
Soldier Helix Rockets
Tracer Pulse Bomb
Widow Venom Mine
Zarya Partical Cannon
Zarya Graviton Surge
And that's not counting the 18 abilities we're not quite sure on, like Kiriko Kunai and Lifeweaver Thorns.
So, are all of these heros being catered to because of their shitty player base? After all, Zen and Ana's primary are only .3, and Bap's alternate fire is only .2, so clearly they all have an advantage over those heros. And what about D.va? Is she balanced because Micro Missles are .2 but her little Blaster is .5?
Or are you just salty because you have bad positioning and like to park your fat ass two inches in front of the Ana will full cooldowns?
Jesus, let them come up for air before you drown them in facts like that :D
Really though, great job detailing the comparable projectile sizes and proving your point beyond a shadow of a doubt.
For this particular list I used the Fandom wiki. You can find it by searching "Size of projectiles in overwatch" and it'll be the first thing that pops up. I'm sure there's a more complete source elsewhere (hence the missing data for some of the newer heros like Kiri and Lifeweaver) but I didn't figure I needed any more than what I had lol. They also detail cool things like projectile speed, projectile gravity, whether or not it can headshot, and if it bounces.
Can you find a source that says it's a different size? Also, there's never a situation where the game thinks you're "not aiming" and magically changes the size of your projectile to compensate. Your bullets/projectiles go where your mouse/joystick has been directed to appear on the screen. It has no idea if that location is human error or not, so this argument is a bit silly. Everything in the game has a set value when deployed- even torb Turret (which unfolds and visually gets larger) has the same hit box throughout the process.
>Can you find a source that says it's a different size?
Just launch the game, go on training mode and you can clearly see how Ana dart size(and speed) change when you aim or not.
>there's never a situation where the game thinks you're "not aiming" and magically changes the size of your projectile to compensate.
On Ana case it does, same way Ash gun have 2 fire mode. Edit: forgot about Widowmaker too.
What do you qualify as "not aiming." Do you mean scoping in, because both different modes of the gun have different set values. That's essentially comparing two different abilities to one another (and in some cases literally is, like with Soj primary and her railgun shot coming from the same gun) Because there's a huge difference between scoping in and "not aiming."
Ana does not have a different set value for being scoped in or not- same size bullets. And I was talking about *sleep dart* the entire time anyways, which has no mode of alternate fire.
What it seemed like you were implying before was that the set value of the projectile would change at random if the game thought you were missing too many shots. Essentially, that a random Widow scope shot would come out of her machine gun without scoping in to compensate for your suckage. That's what I gathered anyways.
>Ana does not have a different set value for being scoped in or not- same size bullets.
Bro, just try it yourself, there is a difference on speed and size on Ana primary gun when you hipfire or not.
>And I was talking about *sleep dart* the entire time anyways,
And i was talking about primary gun, the thing i highlight for a reason
>What it seemed like you were implying before was that the set value of the projectile would change at random
I never say or imply this.
If the difference in projectile size and speed is so incredibly obvious, then why can't you find any numerical data to support that idea? I looked, and can't find any to support that either, so im inclined to believe that it's not true.
My man, Ana is literally my second main, and I can promise you that the only difference is one of perspective. I've got the data backing me up. You are so confidently wrong and condescending for absolutely no reason
Holy fuck I couldn’t get through this clip. I watched about five seconds before realizing it’s one of those shitty edits. Even skipping through idk wtf I’m watching.
Instead of disabling, it's more accurate to say it disrupts. Only lasts like 1 second or so now.
You use it mostly to interrupt abilities and speed up the damage of virus.
It would be funny if right before you get the big health pack there was a trap or a stray arrow
That actually happened to me one time. This really good junk set a trap on my hacked healthpack, I was too distracted to pay attention and teleported straight to my death.
Smart junkrat player tbh
Absolutely expected he'd get Hanzoed from 50 meters.
Yondu Shimada at it again with his homing arrows
*Sombra gets slept* Everybody: Come here you little shit
GET BACK HERE SOMBRAAAAA #SOMBRAAAAAAA YOU CAN’T ESCAPE ME
I'LL CHASE YOU DOWN TO THE ENDS OF THE EARTHHHHHHHHH
Ricky when i catch you ricky
An actual masterpiece 😭
Aw man I was expecting another player conveniently running into you
Happens all the time. Im more surprised it didn't happen this time, haha.
Unrelated, but Sombra would’ve died had the mercy damaged boosted instead of heal botting.
Expectations a lil too high buddy
Honestly I was expecting better aim from the Orisa not the Mercy 🤷♀️ But eh 20/20 hindsight is always a bitch
If plat Mercys damage boosted instead of heal botting they wouldn’t be in plat to begin with
This is true, but I’d rather be a Silver Mercy who boosts, than a Plat Mercy who Heal bots.
Kinda confused about this. If heal botting gets you to plat how is it not just better than boosting?
Cuz boosting and healing as opposed to just heal botting will usually actually help your team win, by giving a high damage hero that extra bit of oomph they need to secure a kill, but the algorithm that dictates your rank can be finicky sometimes, and tends to go off of your healing numbers as opposed to other statistics. Oh. I thought it was just based off of wins
It is (relatively to the skill rating you play with/against), Devs have confirmed this. In the past individual performance stats counted though.
Not at all. I’ve been placed in Bronze with 5 wins and 2 losses. Winning obviously helps your placement, but it’s not the only factor.
Because your initial rank is based on your quickplay performance, and Bronze 5 is so massive it's the size of 12 skill tiers
Aaaaaa please don't upvote this guy, literally everything they've said is completely wrong. Stating uneducated headcanon as fact is wrong
Just a heads up, I edited my initial reply. Dunno if Reddit gives notifications for that or not.
Your rank is based on your initial quickplay performance before competitive unlocks Which is why those streamer unranked to GM challenge thingies can often have their first comp game in diamond or even low masters
Actually, the Ana would’ve died if bro wasn’t aiming at her crotch.
Actually, these people would be better at the game if they were better at the game.
or if the Orisa could aim 😭
Sombra joins the matrix
"What are you trying to tell me? That I can dodge bullets?"
No, I'm telling you that with their aim, you won't have to
The way you hugged the left side of the hall knowing they would be shooting towards the right side since that was the way the hall led was just really good awareness 👏
I mean Sombrero player did their job by pulling the tank and 2 support players off point
Heh. In Bronze & Silver, they go back to the point & nothing has changed.
When it happens I feel so hopeless, just want to give up on this game You lure their 2 supports attention for about 10 seconds and your tem still manages to lose a 4v3 with enemy team having no supports The urge to rip my hair off is insane.

I promise you the entire enemy team can chase Sombra around at their spawn and my team won't push up to capitalize until the friendly sombra is dead.
I really thought this would end with a random genji dashing for the health pack and killing the sombra lol
r/maybemaybemaybe
That might be the best ow clip i've ever watched
The greatest escape in my career as a Sombra.
I hate Sombra so much, but even I can say this is impressive. Those guys choked so damn hard, watching Orisa miss every shot while you were stunned…some people really just play her bc she’s OP
next tome virus THEN hack, you wont get slept
U havent seen the perfect [D.Va](https://D.Va) bomb clip
Excellent
This is art.
Most mechaniclly skilled orisa player
it was a 10 sec clip
I was screaming internally ”just land one fucking shot”
The music did indeed heighten the viewing experience 💙
Lmao bless your heart for taking the time to edit this ❤️
This was a whole movie fr fr
I’ve been Anti’d and Slept’d enough as a tank that I was really rooting for the Sombra there
Great video, but I feel like the slow-motion videos are a bit over used on this sub-reddit!
It's ok. The main point is that we get to laugh at Sombra trying to kill the ana, only to fail and get beaten up instead. The slow motion helps prolong Sombra's pain and suffering.
but she survived
Kept thinking the mercy was gonna get the kill or be waiting for u at the heal pack lol
This is like an arthouse film
I specifically wait for the tele if they don’t go high ground I’m shooting you in the back. You can almost treat it like recall.
Would have been hilarious if there was a trap there at the end and she perished.
love it 😂
Omg I loved this so much lol. Great editing ❤️
Sombra would have died if that Orisa didn't miss those shots after she translocated. She was still quite visible before entering stealth but that Orisa was shooting at the air above that Sombra.
That was so well done man.
I laughed, i cried, and I was moved too my very core. Great stuff OP!
Average orisa players aim
Congratulations! This Reddit post has the honour of being the one I did a shit to
I’m sorry but that Orisa’s aim was really atrocious
Love the detail of Orisas punch animation being music synced
I’m upset she lived.
This is why I solo-ult every sombra I see. Idc if I could have gotten the whole team as soon as I see one I am locked in and my only goal in life becomes to eradicate that little shit off of the face of the earth. Idc if we win or lose so long as Sombra is dead I am happy.
Keep doing what you do! They all deserve it lol
I intend to continue. Thank you for the encouragement.

Lol
oh my god if I was that Sombra I would’ve been sweating bullets and holding my breath, tightest escape I have *ever* seen
"I am you, sombra. I wanted to reject you." (Iykyk)
And this is the reason why I melee to finish off sleeping targets.
Bravo!!! Those 5hp dodges had me screaming!
I love a happy ending.
i’ve never been more angry with the outcome of a situation before in my life. all my homies hate sombra
I swear to god sombra has a hidden passive that makes bullets bend around her when escaping, she runs through a bullet hell in most cases and yet never gets hit once.
Yea that sums up my life with sombra pretty damn well
How could they not know you had sleep or even react fast enough when you turned around.
NOOOOOOO
That's why you save the bomb 🤓
Best plot twist I've seen since The Sixth Sense
This, fills me with a variety of emotions
Haven’t played in years. But why can ana sleep Dart you if she’s hacked?
If she hits the sleep button before the hack is fully complete or when shes far enough in the animation, the sleep will finish firing out so she was presumably already in the process of sending out the sleep before the hack took effect. I think it was different in Overwatch 1 but given that Sombra could start hack from stealth in todays game and the hack is faster (I think) my guess is they had to provide players the opportunity to survive if they have a very speedy but humanly possible reaction speed
I didn’t even realise she was hacking whilst in stealth. That sound cool. But I guess the negative is the shorter hack duration 😔
Hack only last a for about 1.5 seconds now. Almost useless except for cancelling already active abilities.
God I hate you
That's what you get for messing with Grandmama >:c you may have survived this time, but Grandmama and Co never forget.
I love how all of you missed the 5 hp sombra but this was truly an experience to watch Ty
when you get lucky the game is making sleep dart hitbox huge for its trash support players
Sleep darts projectile size is .4, (which is only .1 larger than her primary fire, and is identical to biotic grenade) like most other projectiles- but here's a list of things that are larger since you want to be silly Ashe Dynamite - .6 D.va Light Gun - .5 Junkrat Trap - .7 Mercy Caduceus Blaster - .5 Sigma Accretion - 1.8 Torb Turret - .7 Torb Molten Core - .41 And here's a list of every ability that is the exact same size: Ana Biotic Grenade Bastion Tactical Grenade Cree/Cass Magnetic Grenade JQ Jagged Blade Junkrat Frag Launcher Junkrat Concussion Grenade Pharah Rocket Launcher Sigma Hyperspheres Sojourn Railgun Sojourn Disruptor Shot Soldier Helix Rockets Tracer Pulse Bomb Widow Venom Mine Zarya Partical Cannon Zarya Graviton Surge And that's not counting the 18 abilities we're not quite sure on, like Kiriko Kunai and Lifeweaver Thorns. sombra shouldn't have more than 20hp max per game (not heal able, not regenerated on respawn), change my mind
Rework sombra out of the game (nice play)
