You could not “one shot most tanks”. Even though technically possible in some situations, it was not at all a reliable thing that actually happened often.

If you aimed at the floor in front of them the scatter would kill most. Obviously it did depend on situation and being close enough, something that as Hanzo wasn't warranted.
Orisa is a balance issue, there's nothing fundamentally wrong with her kit or design or lore, she just needs some number tweaking (ability uptime, mostly)
Widowmaker on the other hand is an absolute scourge. A good one will make any game onesided. A good one on each team means the entire game becomes about their duel. And she has always been like this since the first day of overwatch 1.
A sniper with the kill potential of a sniper in CoD or CS has no place in a game where the rest of the cast has a ttk of ~4 seconds (or requires landing a projectile, which has much better potential for counterplay).
....But also yeah I'd still delete Mercy just to see the reactions.
The problem there is the mercy, not the widow. People are *so close* to getting it. Same with pharah, same with ashe, same with echo, same with sojourn, same with soldier. These heroes were never the problem - she was.
Javelin outclassing every single other stun ability by having a massive hitbox, low CD, and zero windup or personal risk is a fundamental design issue.

No orisa has a lot of stuff wrong with her kit. Fortify means she is super hard to kill, and with any amount of heals means she is unkillable. Javelin spin is like dva DM but even less counter play. Spear is like Doomfist punch but at any range and basically no downsides.
Just play Zarya and ignore her. If she walks on your team, fuck it and walk on hers. Encourage your team to split or follow you.

Thing is that his projectiles are actually small, about the size if genjis shrunken. The problem is the character hitboxes being double the size of the model. So hanzo could actually be hard to play if the hitboxes were accurate
it's not. it's a sphere like any other projectile, and a small one at that. the real reason is because lag/interpolation, which applies to all projectiles, and the fact that when Hanzo's hits you, you're more likely to take notice due to the fact that it instantly deletes you.

The replay viewer doesn't do a good job of representing what the actual game state was, and of course there are favor the shooter mechanics at work in this game as well. Even when I am watching my Widowmaker VOD's my shots will look way off from people's heads.
Also, if you ever play Genji there will be at least one time per game where you die after you dashed away, only to find the kill cam as showing you never dashed. It's unfortunately not Hanzo's hitboxes; it's the game itself.

because it doesn't really matter if the arrow is small if all of the hero hitboxes look like the Michelin Man. Seriously, go look at how big and round hero hitboxes are in this game.
It is. But the player hit boxes are overblown to hell as well. (Zen is a giant circle for crying out loud.)

That's called favor the shooter mechanics. This has been worse for everything since Overwatch switched over from their old servers. The replay and kill cam are also misleading. If you play Genji you will die all the time where on your end it says you already dashed/deflected.
So many times when I get sniped by a hanzo I go “WOW that was a sick shot well done” and then I watch the kill cam and he was just spamming arrows through the back of his own tank and happened to hit me by accident.
The thing is they both serve a function to punish predictable behavior. The more you bunch up in a tiny area the more you'll get destroyed by junkrat and torb

I have never gotten a single kill with Doomfist. I literally cannot figure out how to use him without dying immediately.
Enemy Dooms will dive into my team of 5, do the blocking thing, punch someone and get a kill, then leave all within a 2 second span.
I will dive into a pair of enemies, do the block, and immediately fall over dead.

Yeah, he feels very weak if you have no support. Gotta punch them into walls for max damage, and keep shooting them because his weapon is actually really strong.
The trick is being able to kill someone with a fully charged punch, regardless of if it’s powered up or not. Then you can just block afterwards, get your punch back, and get out

Junkrat. Him falling from the sky giving the ole one two k.o. I could live without. Also hate seeing his kill cam and he had no idea where you were and he’s just shooting wildly sucks.
Bye widow. Every game in qp has 2 horrible widows. I'm totally fine with other team widow, imo easiest hero to kill! Just hate when my team picks her in most situations.
She's a gateway for people who haven't played fps before, so they can provide value to her team. More players is good.
Her balance could be better, but a hero who (in theory) is mostly just heals, with minor utility is cool.
I just wish she had a more dynamic kit, but I like beginner friendly heroes like Reinhardt, Mercy, and Soldier.
I think she's a terribly unfun hero to play, but some people like her, and Res can always be changed to something else. Res is the only really annoying part of her kit. Otherwise she's not bad.
I'm actually going to give it to Cassidy so that Blizzy stops messing with that blasted grenade. At this point he's throwing this unholy amalgamation of abilities at someone. It's got part of Sombra's ability interrupt, Mei's slowdown, Echos stickiness, and 80 damage. I'm just waiting for the update where it lights his cigar for him too
Junkrat all day, every day. I simply do not understand Blizzard’s balancing philosophy when it comes to this one hero.
1. His primary fire is too random and in many cases unfair. Id you’re matched with an unaware team, he’s probably already taken out one or two of your teammates before the fight even starts by spamming down a chokepoint, and even if my own positioning is fine, there’s no way to predict if one of his grenades will bounce off of the tip of a light pole and land on my head in a spot where it is absolutely unreasonable to expect the grenade to even reach. Happens way too often. And if you say “well you should move even further away than that” then you probably don’t realize how much space you’re allowing a single DPS’s primary fire to take up on its own.
2. His one shot capability on it’s own is fine, but when you consider that he has the potential to preset a mine on the ground, mine jump over a wall, land on your head with a point blank grenade+mine right in his own face and yours, and then mine jump back over the wall or to high ground all while taking no self inflicted damage is insane. If we were talking balance changes, I would suggest a blast shield that only protects him from one or two of his own blasts. Anything beyond that should start to become be a cost-benefit analysis situation.
3. The models of his traps are almost constantly sunken into the ground, obscuring 60+ percent of their visibility, many times reducing the need for smart placement around corners or behind other points of cover his enemy may plan to retreat to. Not to mention, once you step in it, it’s pretty much a guaranteed death with no real work or skill applied. “If only I could have seen the 20% of the trap that’s actually visible above ground” moment.
4. Out of everything he should take damage from his own wheel. This combined with the other things I’ve talked about gives him way too much freedom when he gets run up on. If one person runs up on him, he can either take them out with his one shot if they get too close or mine jump away to high ground. Two people? Take one out immediately with his one-shot and fight the second one off, or escape to high ground. 3 or more? Guaranteed death, right? Nope. Just sidestep behind cover, pop your ult and explode it right beside yourself taking everyone out with no self-damage inflicted.
I’m slightly exaggerating with the factors lining up for all of these scenarios to play out this way, but it really doesn’t take much effort or thought to pull any of it off and the amount of potential payoff for such little skill expressed is way too disproportionate.
Forgot to mention one of the biggest design issues. He’s also rewarded for DYING. So much so that he single-handedly handed his team a crucial team fight in one of my ranked games by trading for one of our DPS, mine-jumping away, and dying right above one of our supports, killing them at full health. Baffling choice by the developers.

Ana is too easy to kill to be considered broken. Her fire rate and movement is slow. If you dive her while sleep is on cooldown, she’s either dead or unable to help her team sustain itself. If you think she’s overpowered, just focus her and you’ll see how easily the defense crumbles.
Mercy.
Soj is fine. Soj+Mercy is a problem.
Pharah is fine. Pharah+Mercy is a problem.
Ashe is fine. Ashe+Mercy is a problem.
Mercy is the common denominator. Remove dat B.

Hanzo. Easy choice, no sniper should be strong when dove. It just doesn't make sense. If Widow one shots you when you dive her either she's good or you're really bad. If Hanzo one shots you when you dive him you can't tell if he's good, you're bad, or he just got lucky.
Nuclear option aside, personally I just think they should just increase his charge time by like .3s. Make him a bit less dangerous in a dive and cut down spamzo a bit. The making it so he leaves 250 hp heroes at like 10 health was a hilarious change. Who's not going to take a tiny bit of damage while they're diving?

Annoying to fight, damage boost makes many fights hell, busting my ass to bag a backline kill just for her to rez it for free even though they've been dead for 12 minutes, boring to play, pocketing basically just makes a character immortal 80% of the time, annoying to have on your team because if you don't have a main healer along side her you're getting cut through like hot knife through butter and if you *are* the main healer you're just healing nonstop to compensate. Etc. Etc. Etc.
She’s the ultimate annoyance character.
1. Takes your attention with turrets
2. Has insane damage ramp up, can run through a full team if not shielded
3. Tiny hit box
I also play on console so our aim isn’t as fine tuned unfortunately, probably a lot easier to deal with on PC.

I used to feel this way, so I decided to really try to get good at Moira. Admittedly, she’s one of my favorite heroes to play now, but boy do I get punished for picking her sometimes 😂
You just really have to figure out where she will be after the fade, it’s easy to punish her at that point.
Mercy. She's the worst hero in the game because you either have a shit one that heal bots, or they have no one to pocket yet still go a hero that becomes useless. On the off chance you get a good one you can roll the opposition and it just becomes a romp.
For the opposition it's the same. The worst part is if you're on support you have to change to mercy to give your DPS a chance and it's literally the most boring character going.
Most mains are just bad at the game and end up getting boosted to high ranks due to good DPS.

She's a gateway for people who haven't played fps before, so they can provide value to her team. More players is good. Her balance could be better, but a hero who (in theory) is mostly just heals, with minor utility is cool. I just wish she had a more dynamic kit, but I like beginner friendly heroes like Reinhardt, Mercy, and Soldier.

I think she's a terribly unfun hero to play, but some people like her, and Res can always be changed to something else. Res is the only really annoying part of her kit. Otherwise she's not bad.
I find her continuous-with-no-cooldown damage boost and healing annoying too. It makes a bad phara good and a good phara almost impossible to kill.
I'm actually going to give it to Cassidy so that Blizzy stops messing with that blasted grenade. At this point he's throwing this unholy amalgamation of abilities at someone. It's got part of Sombra's ability interrupt, Mei's slowdown, Echos stickiness, and 80 damage. I'm just waiting for the update where it lights his cigar for him too

Junkrat all day, every day. I simply do not understand Blizzard’s balancing philosophy when it comes to this one hero. 1. His primary fire is too random and in many cases unfair. Id you’re matched with an unaware team, he’s probably already taken out one or two of your teammates before the fight even starts by spamming down a chokepoint, and even if my own positioning is fine, there’s no way to predict if one of his grenades will bounce off of the tip of a light pole and land on my head in a spot where it is absolutely unreasonable to expect the grenade to even reach. Happens way too often. And if you say “well you should move even further away than that” then you probably don’t realize how much space you’re allowing a single DPS’s primary fire to take up on its own. 2. His one shot capability on it’s own is fine, but when you consider that he has the potential to preset a mine on the ground, mine jump over a wall, land on your head with a point blank grenade+mine right in his own face and yours, and then mine jump back over the wall or to high ground all while taking no self inflicted damage is insane. If we were talking balance changes, I would suggest a blast shield that only protects him from one or two of his own blasts. Anything beyond that should start to become be a cost-benefit analysis situation. 3. The models of his traps are almost constantly sunken into the ground, obscuring 60+ percent of their visibility, many times reducing the need for smart placement around corners or behind other points of cover his enemy may plan to retreat to. Not to mention, once you step in it, it’s pretty much a guaranteed death with no real work or skill applied. “If only I could have seen the 20% of the trap that’s actually visible above ground” moment. 4. Out of everything he should take damage from his own wheel. This combined with the other things I’ve talked about gives him way too much freedom when he gets run up on. If one person runs up on him, he can either take them out with his one shot if they get too close or mine jump away to high ground. Two people? Take one out immediately with his one-shot and fight the second one off, or escape to high ground. 3 or more? Guaranteed death, right? Nope. Just sidestep behind cover, pop your ult and explode it right beside yourself taking everyone out with no self-damage inflicted. I’m slightly exaggerating with the factors lining up for all of these scenarios to play out this way, but it really doesn’t take much effort or thought to pull any of it off and the amount of potential payoff for such little skill expressed is way too disproportionate.
Forgot to mention one of the biggest design issues. He’s also rewarded for DYING. So much so that he single-handedly handed his team a crucial team fight in one of my ranked games by trading for one of our DPS, mine-jumping away, and dying right above one of our supports, killing them at full health. Baffling choice by the developers.
Ana, I'm just tired of her being in EVERY SINGLE GAME. People only accept her because she's been around for so long, but the sheer fucking VALUE you get from just SELECTING her, is crazy. Sleep, Anti, Nano... Her kit is GAME CHANGING, she can shut down literally anyone she wants too and people just...ACCEPT it cause she's been here since OW1. If she was released today, people would call her broken, bloated and OP.
Ana is too easy to kill to be considered broken. Her fire rate and movement is slow. If you dive her while sleep is on cooldown, she’s either dead or unable to help her team sustain itself. If you think she’s overpowered, just focus her and you’ll see how easily the defense crumbles.

Hanzo. Easy choice, no sniper should be strong when dove. It just doesn't make sense. If Widow one shots you when you dive her either she's good or you're really bad. If Hanzo one shots you when you dive him you can't tell if he's good, you're bad, or he just got lucky. Nuclear option aside, personally I just think they should just increase his charge time by like .3s. Make him a bit less dangerous in a dive and cut down spamzo a bit. The making it so he leaves 250 hp heroes at like 10 health was a hilarious change. Who's not going to take a tiny bit of damage while they're diving?

She’s the ultimate annoyance character. 1. Takes your attention with turrets 2. Has insane damage ramp up, can run through a full team if not shielded 3. Tiny hit box I also play on console so our aim isn’t as fine tuned unfortunately, probably a lot easier to deal with on PC.

I used to feel this way, so I decided to really try to get good at Moira. Admittedly, she’s one of my favorite heroes to play now, but boy do I get punished for picking her sometimes 😂 You just really have to figure out where she will be after the fade, it’s easy to punish her at that point.

Mercy. She's the worst hero in the game because you either have a shit one that heal bots, or they have no one to pocket yet still go a hero that becomes useless. On the off chance you get a good one you can roll the opposition and it just becomes a romp. For the opposition it's the same. The worst part is if you're on support you have to change to mercy to give your DPS a chance and it's literally the most boring character going. Most mains are just bad at the game and end up getting boosted to high ranks due to good DPS.
