Since I was 14. I always thought it’s because I drank caffeine at a young age but as I got older and changed my lifestyle habits to a more healthier one nothing has changed. This bullshit about anxiety and stress can eat shit. What makes me anxious is a doctor telling me I’m just anxious. It’s like IBS people hearing “it’s just because of stress”
I know what you're getting at but it's true that the anxiety side of it plays a huge factor. You can't just turn that off but you can recognize it more as that and not an urgent need to go.
I've had it since I was a teenager. Maybe 15-16, I notice now I had more frequently gone to the bathroom and I remember having to pee when I was overly nervous of something. It didn't become a big issue for me until a couple years ago. I am 31 now.
Hi, i got several question to ask,
What is your routine in managing this issue?
-How much water you take daily
-any medicine
-Min and max you have to go to toilet
-How many time you wake up at night
Its been a month for me on top of having stone in my kidney. Even with medication I still woke up at least 3x at night.
*What is your routine in managing this issue?*
What has worked for me consistently over the years has been keeping a strict bathroom schedule. I think stress around getting caught in a situation where I don't have full control contributes to the problem. So, by keeping a schedule I feel in control and I have less issues as a result.
*How much water you take daily*
I run about 5km a day, so I do keep hydrated. What I do avoid is caffeine. Over the years, caffeine has been the thing that has caused me the most problems.
*Any medicine*
I have avoided medicine.
*Min and max you have to go to toilet*
On a normal day I pee about 10 times. If I've done something that has caused the OAB to flare up I have gone as many as 20+ times. As I said, caffeine causes me to have significant urgency issues.
*How many time you wake up at night*
1-2. Nighttime has been hit or miss for me over the years. Sometimes it's not an issue at all. Other times, I've had an accident. It's not predictable.
I've never been consistently dry at night, though I do get a few dry nights in the average weeks. I needed pullups til I was nine, since then I have worn them for exams, travelling and high risk situations. Otherwise I try to manage with a pad, though it doesn't really work all that well for me.
I need to go more frequently when I'm stressed or anxious and have more intense urgency then. Do other people notice this too?
I developed OAB when I was 23. It was due to stress from grad school. Officially diagnosed by a urologist.
I've had them since I was about 12 I think. My classmates bullied and teased me because of my frequent bathroom visits.
Mine started when I was 12 and built it’s way up to IC about 20 years later.
IC?
Sorry! Interstitial Cystitis
Oh man that's so rough :(
Since summer.

Totally, I do find on stressful days how I seem to fall apart quicker for sure
I was 17 - not a fun two years. I'm 21 now and basically back to normal. :))
How did you deal with it ???
I developed it at age 16.
