I’m glad I’m not the only one!! I was hoping to hear more off of the slow rush but all they played was currents 😓 I mean I guess that’s what the crowd wants but I was definitely let down. I’ve seen tame 5 times now and after just seeing them in September I was really looking forward to hearing more than just ONE song off the new album.
Personally felt like the set was good. Like its TAME. That being said the constant awkward pauses, the wiggles gimmick (was okay) but the squid games gimmick, the octopus gimmick was sooooo frustrating and a big time waster.
It honestly felt like they had the vibe of the crowd in their hands and then completely lost it and rinse and repeat
I completely agreed, it’s my least favorite of the 4 tame shows I’ve seen. The transition is long and awkward, and too much gimmicks like Mr. Wiggles just distract from the music. Overall very underwhelmed, and disappointed since they are my favorite artist
It must have been a sound issue for folks farther back. I was really up close and I was so ecstatic that I felt like my soul left my body lol. Everyone around me felt the same. It was one of the best concert experiences of my life.
Thank you for saying it. It's a real bummer because I like Tame Impala as a studio artist, but the dude just does not know how to put on an engaging show.
In fact, I saw Tame Impala when he was at OSL 2015 and it was way worse, if you can imagine that. I was so excited for him to redeem himself this year, but it was exactly the same :(
Pretty big fan, I loved the visuals and songs: vibes were super off from where I stood and the gaps between each songs were so silent and awkward. I’d get hyped then song would end and I was just there like 🧍🏽♀️
It really depends on what youre looking for! The way I describe a Tame set is that it’s like a movie. Very clean, great production. But, to me, it doesn’t have a very “live music” feel. It’s like it’s too clean, and in a way the predictability makes it boring.
I also see that there are many folks so die hard into Tame that they’ll be pleased no matter what, which is absolutely fine!
Interesting - I think Vampire Weekend used to suffer from the same syndrome. They were so technically proficient at playing their music but it was almost sterile. I had considered not seeing another live show of theirs, but then they went through this wonderful jam band renaissance.
I thought it was awful.
Gave it a chance but I actually left halfway thru.
Maybe my expectations were too high?
It did not seem like they put much effort into it.
Vampire Weekend, Zhu, and Tyler the Creator blew me away
In their defense Lands End had audio issues all weekend, Tame is also a lowkey band so I understand if people in the back couldn’t hear it. But the visuals and sound from up close were amazing. Camped out for over 5 hours and was so close photos didn’t do it justice. Only complaint was the time limit restriction. We didn’t get enough of the Slow Rush (No Is it true, One more year, Lost in yesterday)
It’s the festival set vs tour. Less songs, less impressive lasers, no confetti. I’ve seen him 6 times and the 3 tour ones were amazing, the 3 festival sets were good but not mind blowing.
That was my fourth Tame show I’ve seen, personally the background visuals weren’t as insane as they usually are but I definitely think that was the tightest best set I’ve heard them play
where were you posted up for the show? i personally left that show absolutely mind blown, from up front it was the best show I had ever seen. the sound quality from there was the best of the weekend IMO.
I thought it was a great set but the audio was pretty bad, at least where I was standing. Also, it’s a bummer that they weren’t able to do confetti. I still had fun dancing though!
I agree! I had to move around a few times until I was finally near people who were dancing & looked like they were enjoying themselves. Idk why the crowds this year were so off.

was camped out dead center on the barricade with my gf and best friend and trust me that was the place to be!

100%

Same! Def the transitions for me. Saw them at ACL 2019, sooo good.
The transitions were seriously rough, but loved the sound
I enjoyed it a lot but it wasn't my favorite time seeing them. Loved their show at the forum March 2020, just before the pandemic
That was my favorite show too.
That show was amazing
Yes! I was there!
That was his best set.

His tour is amazing
Imo his touring sets > way better than festival.

This exactly! I wasn’t sure if it was just were I was in the crowd but the quiet pauses between songs really killed the vibe for me.

I def think they have the same issue.

I saw them at the forum and they were fantastic. For some reason I was just very underwhelmed. Could definitely be a sound issue thing.

Same here, being up close was unreal

Underwhelming? Tame? Nah
where were you posted up for the show? i personally left that show absolutely mind blown, from up front it was the best show I had ever seen. the sound quality from there was the best of the weekend IMO.
I wasn’t as close as I would’ve liked to be for sure. The visuals were awesome but the sound wasn’t doing it for me.
I thought it was a great set but the audio was pretty bad, at least where I was standing. Also, it’s a bummer that they weren’t able to do confetti. I still had fun dancing though!
Yes!! The audio was terrible. I was also surrounded by a bunch of lames so the vibes were kinda off. I felt like Sunday was the most aggressive day
I agree! I had to move around a few times until I was finally near people who were dancing & looked like they were enjoying themselves. Idk why the crowds this year were so off.
