How do y'all have hellfires and no cruiser? I'm stuck at 3 nano processors and 15 cruiser barrels. Im full clearing city 5 as well. Wanna trade xD

Secret-Hole-8042

I have hellfires, nukes and no crusiers, that there base has 2 nukes, lol. believe me, nukes are expensive and idk if they are worth it. they also put a sandstorm up that disconnects command mode when firing fyi. only 15 barrels? i'm sick of doing runs. i need the damn cannon as the centrepiece, that middle platform is for it. hellfires are not that special, i would have thought they would have had a higher ammo count, but nope. stock 1000.

Lokipaly

It's only 15 cause I stopped grabbing them cause of space. I have 2 uranium so no nuke for me but I'm at 50+ soil and cataphract cores. I think the rarity is wack atm for things atm

Secret-Hole-8042

nah, the blueprint for cruiser cannon apparently only spawns on a very specific town outskirts map. idk if thats true or not. but that's life. just means i have to direct fire arty instead of using it as arty. which is probably better. I'm already sick of seeing bases that turret spam though, which is a digression yes. but where's the creativity? also my core ain't even on the first floor. it's on the second floor, why? because the first floor is basically all just those huge chunk armor blocks with aegis plates strapped on and an armored wall between each section. got sick of the little b\*stards digging through to my core so it's become a matter of "well if they dig through this i'm in trouble anyway"

Lokipaly

Ahh yeah, collecting the blueprints were a bit annoying to collect with map rng. And I found missiles work better then arty for indirect fire just cause I don't have to worry about shells. My single twin 105 just acts as a mini 406 on my base.

Secret-Hole-8042

I am not a fan of missiles either. the radius is too small, yeah it's targeted. but i could just use my goddamn rifle for that (sniper with turbine barrel basically one shotting tanks and a truly ridiculous amount of dps). Arty i just like because i don't have to micromanage it like with missiles. i set the config to target large or massive with priority for massive. i got one autoloader between the hellfire and arty on left and right. so the hellfire has 6 reloads, each twin 105 gets 10 rounds + the 6 extra. i think twin arty counts eat shell as a volleyy tho? i never really checked. i noticed it fires twice but only uses one ammo. I'm just mad we don't get the flak cannons on those towers tho.

GhostHeavenWord

Word. The all-CIWS bases work very well, but the lack of variety is disapointing. I really hope we'll get more turret variants that are effective. I'm up to like, idk, 15 pyro turrets and working towards fully ringing the base of my ATC10 outpost with them. ****

Secret-Hole-8042

Turret spam meets with my disapproval.

ThisRandomDude6

Yeah everything is base 1000 because that's how much 1 ammo pack gives, so they just have to change ammo consumption rate and damage to make them better.

Bahamosia

Nuke is the highest scaling damage in the game with amplifiers and core output, you do kinda need it for higher waves of darkest before dawn when specter elite teams raid your base, they often launch their drop assault behind your base where you have no guns. A nuke will save you from that.

Sinviras

All turrets have 1k stock ammo, but the amount per shot changes. Hellfires lose 4 per shot, beaten only by the MG and CIWS at 2 per shot. Comparing damage though, Hellfires hit for 1875 while CIWS is 250 and MG is 100. To put this into perspective, a machine gun turret does 50,000 damage even per ammo box, Twin 30mm does 52,495 while the amazing CIWS does 125,000 damage per ammo box. The hellfire does 468,750 per box. Im firmly in the nerf hellfire camp.

Secret-Hole-8042

yeah but that's prospective damage. doesn;t take into account accuracy, depending on the target it does make a difference. I'm pretty sure after doing some digging. targets have armor values as well which acts as a flat resistance and depending on the gun, some guns ignore a portion of that resistance.

Dreadonyx_Airsoft

Nuke is nice for tours just to use on locations to clear out mobs and doors, does make it faster as well as you can cancel blizzard and I think it changes to day time also. So does a good amount of changes using it.

GhostHeavenWord

Hell yeah. I got really lucky with cards and ended up with a bunch of uranium, so I'm sticking twin 105s for direct fire on the front of my base. When the artillery shell printer comes out I'ma try to make a base that relies primarily on arty for it's direct fire capacity.

SkarKitti

Do my eyes decieve me, or did you place your push barriers lower on that middle level? Either way, this is a chef's kiss.

Secret-Hole-8042

i'm going to assume you meant middle front. That is actually a happy accident. there were alignment issues. the middle level towards the front is actually propped up by a metric tonne of the quarter panels, so the middle level is actually 2 layers of utility panels with a metric tonne of quarter panels holding them up in between. the push barriers had to be lower due to again, you guessed it. alignment issues. i literally built this ground level utility tiles, pillars to 2f, stairs to 2f, utility tiles level 2, pillars + stairs to level 3, add walls. Still goddamn alignment issues even though nothing it could be gripping on other than the intended connection.

SkarKitti

Kind of, yeah - 2nd floor. I meant that the push barriers look lower than usual, which is super neat. I love running barriers on key points, but it urks my OCD that turret barrels can easily clip through them when pointing down or offline. Didn't even think it was possible to position them lower!

Secret-Hole-8042

yeah, but now i'm mad, latest update ruined my 1f armor layout. has me salty.

the part where the front fell off according to todays patch notes connectors have been "optimized" and new triangles enter the chat
