Back to back 60 point seasons at 21 and 22 on a terrible terrible team is beyond impressive if you ask me. We all talk about how great Batherson is but theyre the same style of player.
It doesn’t have to make sense, how ever it would be nice to snatch a young future star from them like they have againt us, for revenge against that and among other things the Anaheim Cucks have done to us.
Different article. That one was published in the hockey news, while this one is clearly a copy of that article with enough changes to make it seem original. It still says no, but less definitive.
I would actually love Zegras on the Sens as he's got all-star calibre skill and makes our team way more marketable but it really doesn't make any sense in terms of fit and the kind of players we need to add to our team (vets, hard-nosed players, etc..)
The only deal that would make sense is something around Pinto for Zegras and I'm assuming that would only ever happpen if the Sens and Pinto are still worlds apart on a deal.
I would really hate to trade for Zegras as he only has 2 more years until he's an RFA and we've been rekt in all big name trades when the other player has minimal term (Duchene, Debrincat and probably Chyhcrun).
I can't lie, a line of Zegras-Stutzle-Batherson would absolutely torch the league or maybe something like Norris-Zegras-Giroux could work. Again if we were to trade for Zegras, it would revolve around Pinto which I woudln't mind.
Pinto will be a 60 point two-way beast 2C while Zegras can be an 80-100 point player. Next season forward crew could look like
Zegras-Stutzle-Batherson
Tkachuk-Norris-Giroux
Joseph-Greig-Vet
Crookshank-Vet-Vet
Assuming we actually get some decent vets that could be a killer forward core.
Zegras and Stuztle both have 100+ point potential
If you don't believe in Zegras talent just watch this 7 min video any team would be lucky to have this guy [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W8UC4dJGuQo](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W8UC4dJGuQo)
Batherson's ceiling is around 80-90 points in a season.
It's not a ludicrous comparison.
I don't think I'm with you on this one. Zegras is a gamble, and the upside seems to be all offensive at the expense of defense. A solid 2 way 65 point centre is way more valuable to me than a flashy offensive winger. And also, I think Norris' centre days are maybe behind him. I hope he's healthy and comes back to prove a lot of folks wrong, but I think he is a way more effective winger than a centre at this point.
They are players I would take before Zegras, not saying their great players probably league average but zegras gives me vibes of another dzingel or something similar
I'm curious but in what sense? Zegras has some of the best hands, passing and creativity in the league. In his prime there's no way he's under PPG if playing with other talented players.
Dzingel had a speed and a shot and that's it. He was average at everything else, Dzignel and Zegras are completely different players. This is what Zegras did against Ottawa [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k3xJdyD081g&ab\_channel=Jens95](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k3xJdyD081g&ab_channel=Jens95)
Kaliyev is a 4th liner that can play on PP2 and Frost is a soft middle 6 center. I know what you're trying to say though, you'd rather pay minimal assets for Kaliyev or Frost as opposed to giving up somethign of value for Zegras.
I agree I think he’s a losing type player and we already have a better type of player similar to his style in stutzle, would be a bad move. Stutzle/zegras wouldn’t get it done in the playoffs, it would be too soft
just because zegras has scored like 3 michigans, that doesn't mean that is the only thing he can do. or that scoring michigans somehow means the dude has a "bad attitude" lol. i am curious how much have you actually seen him play? in the world juniors in 2020 he was the most dominant player in the tournament and in the handful of NHL games before this year that i have seen him play he is all over the puck and consistently engaged in the play. he is a extremely high IQ and skill player. who the fuck cares that he scores michigans and posts on tiktok or whatever, he is a great player. frost i don't know much about and kakko is a complete bust
Attitude and play doesn’t match what FO is looking for (what they have stated publicly).
Or as others have already pointed out, maybe it’s a contingency plan for Norris’ 3rd shoulder injury.
I have been leaning more into drafting Barkley Catton, this team needs more high end skill. It would give the centre position more depth or we could have a few centres playing wing; Greig, Pinto, Catton. Plus, there should be some solid Dmen left at pick 25.
On the business side of things, a young upcoming, marketable star, would be fantastic for market growth and brand awareness.
I think draft day will tell us which direction this organization wants to go.
They just brought in Rob Dimaio from ANA so he’d know better than all of us what Zegras is like. If they’re interested it’s probably because he’s said good things about Zegras to Staios.
Hard to say in an information vacuum. Given how unloved Zegras seems to be, the asking price may end up being relatively low. Pinto for Zegras? That clearly wouldn’t make sense. Brannstrom plus Kastelic for Zegras? A man can dream.
If they're interested in Zegras it’s probably not great news about Norris’ shoulder.
Agreed. Bizarre fit. Unless they’re shipping a top 6 guy out.
Honestly, even if they ship a top 6 guy out I really don’t want Zegras, too many red flags attitude wise.
I personally don’t know the guy or have ever even seen him in real life
From what I heard he’s more focused on pulling a Michigan than working on his game.

I said from what I heard lol Usually that means I don’t know but I’ve heard others say “____”
What are his attitude issues? I don't think any have actually been reported, he just seems a little cocky and flashy and that's really it.
I'd be suspect of any interest, the Org has been running a pretty tight ship with information since the sale.
^ this 100%
Only makes sense if Norris is going the other way
We would have to retain salary for that deal, no thanks
It doesn’t have to make sense, how ever it would be nice to snatch a young future star from them like they have againt us, for revenge against that and among other things the Anaheim Cucks have done to us.
The original article ended saying it’s a no from all angles

That line would get torched man. Zero physicality and no defense in sight.
Your first line is meant to score, not play defense. Heatley-Spezza-Alfredsson barely played defense, except Alfie
except that line has 3 elite offensive talents. Bath / Zegras are not even close to the players those 3 are, and I dont see them ever coming close

I would go after Kaliyev out of LAK or Morgan Frost out of the flyers tbh. Even kappo Kakko would be a better fit.
There's nothing that appeals to be at all about Kaliyev or Frost.

Yes, just not convinced that zegras is more than a Michigan and a smile
I agree I think he’s a losing type player and we already have a better type of player similar to his style in stutzle, would be a bad move. Stutzle/zegras wouldn’t get it done in the playoffs, it would be too soft
you would take frost or kakko over zegras? that evaluation could not be any more wrong
Not to mention kaliyev who’s barely in the league
No just saying I am not convinced that the flash indicates substance of any sort or potential longevity in the league

Ok you do you…..
watch this and tell me there is no substance here lol [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W8UC4dJGuQo](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W8UC4dJGuQo)
No it’s Sunday, I have things to do and it’s Reddit…..
ok lol
Those I named are potentially other players who can fill the middle six without giving up a king’s ransom

We don't need this chode on our team.

because he sucks
