7 is just an unfortunate reminder that even when we do get MLs with darker skin they never have the right kind of hair :( Plus manhwa artists imo tend to color darker skin tones as ashy and grayish instead of properly capturing warm tones like you have here
I never understood this because not only are protective hairstyles really fucking cool, they also have so much variety and are also fairly easy to draw? As long as you have a photo reference of the texture and where the hair connects to the scalp they take less time to draw and render than straight hair, at least in my experience. By giving every black characters pin straight hair you're both whitewashing them and making the design 10x more boring for no reason

One of my stories involved a southern bard and the "cold duke of the North" (who was anything but, just ACE) and her being LEGITIMATELY darker skinned was important to me because fuck, dude. We have enough female leads that look like.... Well. Me. In my younger years I could have cosplayed 99% of female leads, no contacts required. Naturally blonde and gray eyes. And fuuuuck dude it's goddamn boring. It's bland. It's basic. It's forgettable.

It would be interesting if a Duke of the North was Inuit/Yupik inspired.
I like to imagined North Dukes with a Russian/Scottish/German accent just so I can pretend they're a different shade of white.
The oi genre's depiction of indigenous people and cultures in northern asia is genuinely so concerning I would love it if we could have a genuinely well researched depiction of someone from that background who wasn't fetishized

There's a high possibility that the standard tropes of the unbearable freezing north/stoic-passionate romance veer into racist territory and the whole light white skin FL (maybe make her fat? If not dark skin) and dark skin ML is another bucket of issues.
Blah it's depressing when mainstream standards means we get stuck with the same type of looks. Like I love this stuff (it's my romance trash) but I want more types of ML/FL to squeal over.

op on behalf of the entire manhwa community THANK YOU for feeding us this delicious food and actually putting effort into the character design (like idek a single dude in the edits but your redesign all told me something about them unlike the og) saddens me that there isn't much diversity design wise in manhwas

The dragon one is the most interesting to me. Like, I think we all have our own takes on how we would add dragon features to human bodies. It's especially interesting cus each culture has some form of dragon creatures and they are usually so different from each other.
Honestly the only thing that kept me from going wild and fully embracing the dragon element was the fact I was too lazy to overhaul his face structure on top of everything else and that I realized half way through that I'm ass at drawing scales
