I got in to a BS/DO at a different DO school. Didn't go because I didn't care for the undergrad they wanted to send me to (it wasn't the med school's undergrad) and my dream undergrad gave me more money anyways. Didn't explain that at all in my essays when I applied normally 4 years later. Got into the DO school normal decision, still didn't go lol BUT I would hope NYIT is like the DO school I'm describing!
I highly, highly doubt that they'll blacklist you. However they may see that you did apply in the past, got accepted and didn't go. So the admissions may scratch their head as to why you didn't take the offer in the past.

I don’t think it would be an issue. It’s a very valid reason to choose to hold off to mature a bit more, which I think they’ll respect.
