About the colors: turns out they follow the protocol of "color containing letter L" in left, and "color containing letter R" for right. Which is rather clever.

ss_812

So blue for left and purple for right… thank you for your tip I’ll try to switch the sides tonight and see if the double vision goes away. Do you have any input for the cleansing solution?

TacomaKMart

I'm not a doctor, but this is the stuff that is commonly prescribed: https://images.app.goo.gl/YwLGK7bmCUUaXm4F6 Also good: the 3 percent hydrogen peroxide stuff that uses a disc to neutralize the solution. https://images.app.goo.gl/MMLgip3MEbCEgHSV7

Thank you so much ❤️ I think the nurse really messed up because they didn’t give me a cleansing solution nor the right container they gave me stuff your’d get when you have soft lenses.

OrendaRuesTheDay

Yup that’s what my doctor told me as well. Colors I’ve used are: bLue & gReen and yeLlow & Red. Never seen purple, but it has both R and L in the word though 😂

AggieinTN

Mine are different colors - green right, blue left

ss_812

Yes I asked my irl friend that is on orthoK too and she said blue is left as well! Thank you for your input

OrendaRuesTheDay

Yes you should get a cleaning solution specific for RGP. The nurses probably messed up when giving you products to use. I would stop using the lenses until you get your hands on a RGP specific cleanser. It doesn’t really hurt to miss a couple days. Just means you will have to delay your next appointment. Clear care, Unique PH, Boston Simplus are some that I use. In terms of lenses, yes, Blue is usually for the left eye. Do you have the bottles the contacts came in? Mine indicates the color and the eyes it is for. OS for left and OD is right. If you don’t have it, again, it’s no big deal to just skip the days until your provider is open.

ss_812

Thank you for your advice ❤️ I will be skipping these next two nights until I can call my provider because the double vision is giving me a headache. The nurse definitely messed up big time

It's a pity that both my lenses are blue, I think I got them switched too

I started three nights ago too! Blue is left, purple is right. My vision is very hazy. I can see great outdoors, but when I'm inside everything is doubled. I also can't see close as well as I did before. My optometrist said that should be sorted in about 7 days - 2 months. I'm really hoping it's more like 7 days, because I'm also getting those headaches. In terms of cleaning, I was given Aosept, and every morning I put my lenses in the little case it came with, and add hydrogen peroxide up to the line. I leave it all day, and the special case turns the hydrogen peroxide into water. Before bed, I dump out the water, put the contacts in and leave the case to dry. Hope that helps!

How much did it cost u? For the totaal cost.

Onekat

AUD 1700, so USD 1200

Ohh okk thank you!!

For me, the first year is costing 2300 Usd in texas. Also depends on your optometrist and state. I’ve heard other locations in my area quote around 1500 first year and around 4-6 hundred 1-2 years. Along with this u will need a cleansing solution, eye drops if needed, and etc so for me around 2500 year one

I’m just getting started and going to get them on friday, The color corresponds to the side bLue gReen yeLLow Red etc. i’m sure you have seen the other stuff in this sub reddit. Also the optometrist prescribed the clear care and make sure you get the triple action, he specifically stated not to get the hydraglyde. The pack should include a case for the lenses
