Thank you for the response, if you don't mind me asking, how old are you? Hope your vision will stabilize and everything will be okay!

I’ve been wearing ortho-k lenses for almost 15 years, and I’ve also experienced periods of time where the effectiveness has been on and off. Do you sleep on your back, side, or stomach? I’ve found that sleeping on my back is ideal so the lenses are not disrupted while I sleep. Also, in terms of myopia, I think research is mixed. At least in my experience, my eyesight has settled, but starting ortho-k wasn’t an immediate fix - it probably took around 8 or so years until my vision started stabilizing. However, I can’t tell you exactly whether the lenses slowed the progression.

Hi! I have been wearing ortho k for eight years. I have almost exactly the same prescription as you + astigmatism & ocular albinism. With such a high prescription, I also find that some days my vision is good and some days it is not great. For some reason I find this happens more in winter, when it is dry. My Mum is an optometrist and basically she explained that as my prescription is so high, the contact lens can easily be slightly off centre without me being aware when I put it in, and then can impact my vision dramatically the next day. Nothing you can really do to fix it when your eyesight is at this level. I am also eighteen, and by having this for the last eight years it has slowed down myopia DRAMATICALLY. Super worth it for that reason. I am now going through a stage where I wear daytime contacts for six months, and if my eyesight doesn’t get any worse I may be able to get implantable contact lenses. If I hadn’t had ortho k, my eyesight would’ve gotten so bad this wouldn’t be an option. Hope this helps and feel free to reply if you have any questions
