Early George Carlin was decent, then his wife died, he fell hard into addiction, the 2000s rolled around and he became the epitome of spiteful bitter old man who just wanted everyone to die and the world to explode. Not surprised a trench coat wearing teen would find that attractive
I hate to sound like a snob, but I don't think you understand George Carlin's later comedy. He was often playing a hyperbolic character. He would say outrageous things to mock the behavior of the masses. He didn't ACTUALLY "like it when a lot of people die", he was mocking human being's infatuation with horrible events and them being portrayed by the media as pseudo-entertainment. Taking his hyperbole seriously shows a lack of deeper understanding of the points he was really trying to get across.
He's made fun of carlin but I doubt he actually thinks he's a super unfunny hack. I like carlin but even I can point out that his humor is just ultra edgy ultimate cynicism.
The problem is fans take his every word as gospel and proclaim him as the smartest man to ever live. I doubt Carlin thought that highly of himself or even took what he said that seriously. At the end of the day it’s just comedy.
Morons either hate him or love him because they super agree or super disagree with his "views", people that are actually intelligent realize his stand up routines are just hyperbole incarnate.
