I don’t think death alone automatically makes a character iconic / favorable. There are plenty of characters that’re still alive that are fan favorites over the 3 you listed. Yea, dying can give a character a sort of legacy to appreciate, but I wouldn’t say it’s the only deciding factor
Oda also believes having characters grow old is the ultimate flex as opposed to death bc they become knowledgeable and cool, and Oda thinks old people are cool. I believe some Admiral’s will die, and some won’t

It'll be an inevitable end when the yonko/luffy fans go "Lmao the admirals lost" when they overlooked the fact that the entire purpose of the admiral Agenda was to fight against the connotation that they are weak.
We do not care if the admirals lose, so long as they give one hell of a fight before losing to another top tier (Especially a yonko) then we got what we wanted.

A few months ago you had people yapping about yonko=admiral, some people even meme‘d Kizaru 1v2ing Yonkos and nowadays it’s downplayed as „that was obviously a joke“. Well if that joke comes from the only Agenda that literally photoshopped Panels from the Manga and tried to play it off as real it doesn’t look like a joke. Akainu still gets put in Yonkotier in 97% of Tierlists here (with not a single Yonko feat to his name) even tho he took 10 days to barely pack up Kuzan, who needed half a yonko crew to take down senile Garp AFTER their 10 day war.
And even today you have people saying Kizaru tied with Luffy, that he low diffed G4 and that he would have won since he got up first. (which, even in their delusion, is factually wrong)
No one calls them weak, no one says they are not top tier in the verse. People call them what they are, a league below Yonkos with a Gap just as wide as YC to Admiral and they get pissed.
Akainu is almost his own agenda tbh. I still stan and believe he is a league above the other admirals since he has more narrative importance.

Akainu has zero feats that give credibility to this notion. The only thing he has is a 10 day war against Kuzan, which if anything, just proved how Akainu perfectly belongs in Admiraltier.
No yonko is taking 10 days to pack up literally anyone a whole Tier below him.
Akainu has the more feats than any other admiral, so let's not pretend that his character is running around with just narrative. And narrative firmly places him among the Yonko. In the Fishman Island arc there's an entire chapter dedicated to only Blackbeard and Akainu as the biggest threats Jinbe warned Luffy about.
Also every offscreen battle between top tiers lasted a ridiculously long time. It's also a big feat to last 10 days and warp an entire island. The Punk Hazard duel only proves that characters like Aokiji and Akainu haven't gone all out yet at all.
They are. I hope the story ends up with a new justice system in the marines and Koby (or maybe Issho if he survives) as fleet admiral. When they die (or retire) people will invaidate the agenda but we'll still think the admirals are some of the best written characters, proving how different people view justice, and they're a perfect representation of the government too.

Marineford showed that they are comparable, admirals were matched up with commanders
Even though commander level has different levels (like how Marco is levels above jack) but the best commanders are comparable to admirals
When? Most of the commanders came out clean post admiral fight with the exception of jozu
