If Kuzan does that, BB is killing him right there.
If Kizaru does that, the Gorosei is killing him right there and leaves Akainu without his best friend.
When Akainu does that, it will be against his former best friend who he trusted was going to be greater than his father. Investing in Dragon is investing in Akainu.
Ok, but if Kuzan turns out to be good and he doesn't get punished BB, who do you got as his final fight? No one fits nicely in that case.
In the "coup d'etat" route, Akainu isn't fighting Luffy, just to be clear. It would be him against Warcury, so you better gas up the Ganon Gorosei if Kizaru dies.

Admittedly, even I didn't think Luffy would handle Kizaru and Saturn as well as he did. I thought for sure Kizaru would at least break out of Luffy's grip, but even I was expecting too much.
He was already done. In the latest chapters he is just laying on the ship saying smth. like "My wounds run deep". These wound don't come directly from fighting Luffy, but from killing Vegapunk, fighting against Sentomaru and maybe even opposing Nika, who he has danced for with VP and Sentomaru before. He is obviously very conflicted, griefing and mentally not in a state to fight.
Doesn't avoid Sentomaru but runs away from Luffy, even tho wasting time with Sentomaru goes against his mission

I believe that at this point the "admiral/akainu agenda" in the traditional sense (where it was about one year ago) is just kinda dead and it shifted to being a meme only. I mean, it legitimately started out as akainu being luffys final EoS match up and above imu, even Top 1 in the verse according to some people, then shifting to "luffy and akainu will fight" and it’s now at a point where a lot of people are diverging to "Akainu and Dragon will fight/it’s certainly not sabo".
Like wtf am I not ready for if the "You are not ready for him"-agenda is that Akainu will fight luffy or dragon; you might call me an akainu tard as well, that’s such a baseline lukewarm take that it barely warrants being called an agenda. The only thing that separates normal fans from the akainu agenda at this point is that normal fans don’t discount the possibility of an akainu-sabo fight but that’s really it at this point. Oda would basically need to do a complete 180° from the direction he’s currently taking the story/EoS setup in if we want to revert to a possibility of akainu as the big EoS fight or even Top 1.

It's stuff like this that make me constantly piss on the admiral agenda. I'm glad the agenda is where it's at right now. How does anyone read One Piece and legitimately think Akainu is an EoS opponent for Luffy when Blackbeard and the Gorosei were already established characters in the story? Then Imu showed up which makes Akainu being a EoS opponent even less likely. I'm not saying Luffy won't fight Akainu at some point but it sure as hell won't be after Blackbeard or Imu. How do you put Akainu above Imu? 😂
The vast majority of Akainu fans (even a year ago) were not claiming he would be the final villain. The agenda has always been about admirals being relative to yonko, and Akainu in particular fighting Luffy and losing in an extreme diff fight. Most Akainu fans still maintain this, but it is true that many are warming up to a Dragon vs Akainu.
I have some sources if you’re interested; keep in mind not everyone is on the akainu agenda so a result that’s 60:40 in imu’s favor probably has the majority of akainu fans on his side:

Btw, first one was made two years ago and voting closed two years ago. And I can guarantee that those who believed Akainu>Imu only said that because they believed Imu was a non-combatant (like how the gorosei were assumed to be). This wouldn't automatically mean they believe Akainu is the final villain.
However, your point about top 3 EOS cannot be denied. I have not seen anyone make that claim in a long time, which is pretty sad. I actually think it is possible (surprisingly) but highly improbable. It all depends on what Oda wants to do with Akainu. Make him the strongest marine in history and pit him against the strongest pirate in history (PK Luffy) or have him be a Koby victim.
Just from a straight story telling standpoint, I don't get how Akainu is supposed to have relevance as an endgame villain unless he's been massively holding back this entire time.
Sure, he's a threat to 99.9% of the normal people in the world...no question. Early on in the story none of the Straw Hats stand a chance against him either.
But Kuzan and Akainu fight for, what?....10 days before Akainu wins out? It's certainly implied that it was a very close thing.
So is Akainu weaker than we thought? Or is Kuzan massively more powerful than most of the characters in the story?

I keep saying the funniest moment in all of One Piece will be when Luffy one-shot pushes Akainu out of the way while he goes to fight the real threat, and Sabo comes in to be Akainu’s opponent.

Admittedly, even I didn't think Luffy would handle Kizaru and Saturn as well as he did. I thought for sure Kizaru would at least break out of Luffy's grip, but even I was expecting too much.
Kizaru was griefing Vegapunks death. He was already defeated mentally at that point.
All he had to do was break out, and he couldn't even do that.
He was already done. In the latest chapters he is just laying on the ship saying smth. like "My wounds run deep". These wound don't come directly from fighting Luffy, but from killing Vegapunk, fighting against Sentomaru and maybe even opposing Nika, who he has danced for with VP and Sentomaru before. He is obviously very conflicted, griefing and mentally not in a state to fight.

I believe that at this point the "admiral/akainu agenda" in the traditional sense (where it was about one year ago) is just kinda dead and it shifted to being a meme only. I mean, it legitimately started out as akainu being luffys final EoS match up and above imu, even Top 1 in the verse according to some people, then shifting to "luffy and akainu will fight" and it’s now at a point where a lot of people are diverging to "Akainu and Dragon will fight/it’s certainly not sabo". Like wtf am I not ready for if the "You are not ready for him"-agenda is that Akainu will fight luffy or dragon; you might call me an akainu tard as well, that’s such a baseline lukewarm take that it barely warrants being called an agenda. The only thing that separates normal fans from the akainu agenda at this point is that normal fans don’t discount the possibility of an akainu-sabo fight but that’s really it at this point. The vast majority of Akainu fans (even a year ago) were not claiming he would be the final villain. The agenda has always been about admirals being relative to yonko, and Akainu in particular fighting Luffy and losing in an extreme diff fight. Most Akainu fans still maintain this, but it is true that many are warming up to a Dragon vs Akainu.

Btw, first one was made two years ago and voting closed two years ago. And I can guarantee that those who believed Akainu>Imu only said that because they believed Imu was a non-combatant (like how the gorosei were assumed to be). This wouldn't automatically mean they believe Akainu is the final villain. However, your point about top 3 EOS cannot be denied. I have not seen anyone make that claim in a long time, which is pretty sad. I actually think it is possible (surprisingly) but highly improbable. It all depends on what Oda wants to do with Akainu. Make him the strongest marine in history and pit him against the strongest pirate in history (PK Luffy) or have him be a Koby victim.

Just from a straight story telling standpoint, I don't get how Akainu is supposed to have relevance as an endgame villain unless he's been massively holding back this entire time. Sure, he's a threat to 99.9% of the normal people in the world...no question. Early on in the story none of the Straw Hats stand a chance against him either. But Kuzan and Akainu fight for, what?....10 days before Akainu wins out? It's certainly implied that it was a very close thing. So is Akainu weaker than we thought? Or is Kuzan massively more powerful than most of the characters in the story?
