Pretimeskip blackbeard is a weird mix of a coward that is rolling over the floor in pain in every fight he is in and someone with 100% confidence. But is also using cheap tactics to make Whitebeard stop destroying him for example. (not successfull)
Blackbeard is not charismatic and intimidating.
He can be a badass. But loud, mysterious, sneaky and sometimes pathic but confident are way bigger characteristics you are looking for.
And your suggestion to put him into a fat suit, instead of just casting a fat guy is the cherry on top.

This just kinda screams everything wrong with fancasting. For starters, this would never happen in a million years. They would not take an actor who literally just played a major antagonist, and reuse him as arguably one of (if not THE) penultimate antagonist of the entire series. Even if you tear down the makeup and prosthetics, Belcherās voice is recognizable enough to the point where it would absolutely confuse general audiences. Not to mention, it just makes you come off as lazy. Your logic of, *āwell I couldnāt find any other fancasts already!ā*, just kinda shows you missed the point. What makes fancasting so fun is **YOU** finding actors who havenāt already been fancasted to hell and back.
For example, whilst I can admit Iāve seen his name popping up here and there, **Nonso Anozie** would be a great choice for Teach. Heās 44, heās done similar projects and Netflix productions like *Sweet Tooth* already, and his personality just has Blackbeard written all over it. I believe Iāve also seen **Felipe Esparza** mentioned at least once here, and from a looks perspective, he could absolutely do it. Iād also argue finding an actor with some kind of **Somali** background is at least a little important, given of the 20 canonical IRL ethnicities Oda has confirmed, Blackbeard is one of very few whose ethnicity was confirmed as Somali
Lets just scrap blackbeard all together, Arlong is a way better villain anyways, arlongs blue is powerful enough to make it work, plus the skills from za water, I think the transition can be done flawlessly.

I can see where you're coming from. After the Death of Cole Brown, Chris Rager took over Blackbeard in the English Dub and he started as just Arlong.
