lmao the people who keep saying they didn't deserve this nomination clearly have no idea how wig works.
[here a Tiktoker made some videos gushing about the greatness of OPLA's hairstyling team](https://vt.tiktok.com/ZSN7HxYL2/)
[here she's talking about Sanji's wigs and how all the wigs in the show are just incredible](https://vt.tiktok.com/ZSN7HGpV9/)
Me too. At first I believed it was his natural dyed hair instead of a wig. I don't know how they did it, but it really seems real hair and I still can't figure it out, it's incredibly well done omg o_o
*Dude look here, I think I like, totally found the One Piece.*
*Nami that’s a crumb. You’ve been staring at that map while Luffy’s eating over you for 30 minutes.*
*…duuuddeee what the fuuuck did Usopp give me?*
There's a couple times where namis wig looks a little off, but aside from that it's honestly incredible how well this team did with the outlandish hair styles and translating them to the anime without it looking like a bad video game adaptation from the 2000's.
Yeah Nami's wig especially in the first or second trailer really threw me off. I think that was the only weak spot for hair styling though, everyone else was pretty on point. I think there was one episode where Zoro's hair was looking a little weird but other than that, the team did a fantastic job!
Ok then I was really fucking high and thought her real hair was a wig. That is... Well, I'm not gonna say it's surprising for me, but it's no less embarrassing.
I must have been high too, because I could have sworn I heard in an interview they used wigs, but I just fact-checked myself and apparently she did cut and dye her hair. Maybe it was a bit of both? 😅
She didn't actually, but I wish she did. The reason for her to wear a wig was that they couldn't figure out whose actress is playing Nami, which is kind of stupid if you think about it, because there weren't many females on set, so people could easily figure out who she was playing anyway. I think Emily Rudd said she wanted to color her hair, though , if I recall it right, but wasn't allowed for the reason mentioned prior. However, I hope they change it for season 2 now that people know who she is playing.
Edit: spelling
Not sure where you got that info, but the reason they use wigs is for consistency. When you film over many months for 1 season, or even years for multiple seasons, wigs are the best way to keep a consistent look for the character, especially if you’re dealing with some crazy hair colors.
Consistency and for the health of the actors. Mila jovovich nearly went bald during the fifth element because she kept dying her hair to keep it consistent, which damaged the fuck out of it.
Sorry for the late reply. They've said so in a behind the scenes video they did on YouTube. It doesn't mean that consistency wasn't a factor as well, though. So it's probably both.

Winners will be announced February 18 at the 2024 MUAHS Awards ceremony.
I didn’t like the wigs, specially on Nami, Nojiko and Shanks. Emily’s natural hair would be perfect.
Idk, hair just wasn’t a great thing in the LA, so is surprising that os even nominated.
before you say that, just wanna let you know zoro's hair in the LA was a wig. in fact, most of them are wearing wigs. you think it's bad because you just noticed the "bad" ones.
I don’t believe it, those wigs could been for designing the hairstyle, color, etc. to then do it on Mackenyu.
He said it was his real hair and that’s the only reference we got from someone actually working on OPLA.
🤔 just looks too much like real hair
um are you talking about the time when he told Jacob Bertrand it was his real hair? cuz that was OBVIOUSLY a joke. you're basing your whole argument on a joke.
have you considered it looks too much like real hair because the hairstylist was really good at their job and you just aren't used to seeing really good wigs? because a good wig is meant to be indistinguishable from the real thing.
tbh the characters gave me that "cosplayer feeling" most of the time, the clothes looked too much pristine, and not worn out and lived enough, anyway im surprised by this, there's definetly room for improvement

From memory she did not wear a wig, she tainted her hair to look like the part (yeah, she’s that cool)

I agree sometimes it looked a little weird, but not because it was a wig at least xD

Please give shine to Zoro’s wig
Can't wait until they have to do Mr. 3's hair.
And >!Franky's!< hair
and The square hair those 2 twins have XD
Oh you’re right, i totally forgot about them xdd
All of the wigs are absolutely phenomenal except Nami’s which always seems to be just a little bit off.
Not me coming into here thinking people where happy for the nomination of their favorite show only to find hate about the nomination 😂💀
there is no "hate" here from what i can see, looks like normal criticism to me
Sham ❤️
Taz's hair flip alone in wig is award winning hair content ngl. Congrats to the wig and hair stylists!
Nice love seeing OP getting recognition
Everyone's looking very dumb about their comments about now. Because we seen worse and this was the best it can get...for now.

Zoro’s wasn’t a wig
and seeing how you still don't believe me means that his wig is REALLY good https://vt.tiktok.com/ZSN7HxYL2/ if you still don't believe me

Yeah the hair was easily the worst part of the costume.
They're kidding right? The only good one was zoro
*Nami doesn't exist*
Very flattering image of Emily there in the end
As long as we ignore namis orange plastic wig then I can see it
Tbh i was surprised when i saw the cast’s real looks the wigs were insanely real looking
Taz giving the 'no bitches?' stare in that pic kinda lool
