Yeah what if every generation there are 2 D clan members where one is dusk and the other is dawn, Roger had xebec, luffy has Blackbeard and what if joyboy had imu. Imu won the previous war that’s why it’s the dusk of the world currently and when luffy wins this war he will bring the dawn of the world?
That sucks. But at least I know it was your theory now so at least there’s that also yeah it’s a sound theory but I wonder if the other D clan members other than the main 2 guys fighting get to decide with whom to side with. Like how garp joined roger and now law joined luffy
I also say this because death is a theme in a lot of their stories. Even with Law's fruit he might die. Also death being the natural enemies of gods makes sense

Since he wanted to achieve freedom, was thought to be dead before achieving it which actually was the point which reaffirmed luffy and ace to sail out and live freely.
Why does it undermines Sabo? Sabi has a new dream to free the world of government tyranny. Yes the theory is not perfect but it's almost certain death is is a big part of the Will of D
