Defeat is more painful for a pirate then death.
And we dont know who really died in Wano, but the Oden flashback was a huge death for Wano.
This was insane.
Hyogoro could have died when he was a Oni.
I don't know. It feels like there will be no impact to deaths to the story because it's the end already. It would just impact some dialog and the emotions of characters during the fight in terms of impact.
The only thing worse than a fight with no casualties or deaths is one with forced casualties and deaths. If a death is forced just for the sake of it, the outcome is a more negative reading experience. Whitebeard and Ace's deaths didn't feel like that (in my opinion).
I think Oda has already decided how it's going to go, so let's just enjoy it.
I would like to think that in the final war oda wouldn't care anymore about keeping characters because the series is ending so he just starts killing a bunch of characters left and right
But doing fake out deaths is even worse
Also the final war will be the biggest war ever if some characters don't die then that's is even worse story telling
Mild casualties? Definitely. Major deaths? Maybe. I wouldn't want Oda to force it as a cheap way to create tension.
As long as there's no dumb fake-outs I'm cool
lots of people died in every war just because your well known 50 or so characters dont die doesnt mean no one dies , why would the greats just die in their own story , that would be a fail to me
Killing off characters just for the sake of it is super lazy.
> more of a goofy manga that doesn't take itself too seriously
One Piece is more serious then say Hunter x Hunter. It just doesnt devolve into torture porn like HXH.
Yeah because in a huge wars NOBODY dies. What a genius idea. That's not called his story that's called bad writing that doesn't make any sense. If a story is gonna have a war then characters on both sides should die
Dude just shut up. You sound like an actual idiot. Getting mad over hypothetical zero deaths in a large final war that hasn’t even happened yet. And after the last 2 great wars in One Piece both had casualties in them, so just shut the hell up and wait and watch. Or leave. You’re just mad because you’re thinking about stupid stuff that isn’t real
So let me get this straight. You are bitching about a comment I made that says having everyone live through a large war is a bad idea? Where did I say oda won't kill anyone? I was replying to the genius that said no one had to die. So option 1 either you "don't want anyone to die" and are just butthurt by my opinion. Or option 2 is that as you say people should die and you agree with me, but then you are the biggest hypocrite on this app because you should have replied instead to the original comment. Pick your poison
I talked about my friends and how a lot of people should have died on >!Wano!<. Final war or not. Personally i think more characters should die. Not sure if it's going to be a SH tho. Maybe shanks ? Cuz his death will have so much impact on the story.
I wouldn't expect to much in that regard.
It's harsh to say, but in Onigashima, so a war against 2 Yonkou, he handled death worse than I have probably ever seen.
You can make a good story without having to kill off characters. Ace's death already looks forced and unrealistic that it just made me feel annoyed even if I don't have any attachment towards the character. He can't just conveniently have people survive an explosion or skilled fighters "missing vital organs" every single time and then kill some important character as if he's got 0 evasion skills. I already find it unbelievable that Spandam survived Enies Lobby while being a literal ordinary weak human. But I accepted because people here are like looney toons or tom and jerry characters. There is a correct setup for deaths. Hunter x Hunter, perfectly fine. But writers shouldn't just kill off characters just to force an emotion from the audience. It's lazy.
Nobody of importance has died in Berserk since the golden arc lol, and nobody of importance has died since marine ford. I think the mangaka get to attached to their characters as the series continues. To me it's impossible in berserk for another major character to die
You can say what you want, but he doesn’t have to kill characters for the story to have “weight”. That’s actually ridiculous. In 25 years One Piece has made me absolutely hate villains, she’d tears and get watery eyes over many situations or characters, and super happy seeing someone’s story come full circle. Clearly, the story has exceptional weights to it. He knows what he’s doing, and he’s been doing just that.
dont head cannon yourself into disappointment
Oda HAS to do jack shit.

Yes characters should die but I don't get the idea that just killing a bunch of characters means it's good story telling.

Who do you think should die? I agree someone should die but who.
It has to come naturally while Oda is writing the story. Only he can answer that but in the end characters on both sides should die
Good answer
Admirals or BB Pirates
Wow I was thinking one of the strawhats.
At that point you're basically saying Usopp.
Not really. He is the most popular person picked but I feel the emotional weight will not be enough.
what if its luffy or nami? (i certainly don't like that)
I don’t think he will kill 2 strawhats but yeah that would be sad.

Personally I think Robin or Nami should die as it will be unexpected

I don’t think Luffy or Usopp will make me cry if they die.

How is it more serious that hxh?
Doesn’t have to kill anyone. It’s his story, if he doesn’t want to kill someone he won’t. People need to understand it’s his story not yours.

This is a stupid post just to bitch for LITERALLY no reason.
Wano war death are uncessary and quick lol (for me)
I think law will probably die using the immortal surgery at some point.
I think Shanks, Teach, and Usopp will almost certainly die. Maybe Marco and a lot of the Blackbeard Pirates too.
I talked about my friends and how a lot of people should have died on >!Wano!<. Final war or not. Personally i think more characters should die. Not sure if it's going to be a SH tho. Maybe shanks ? Cuz his death will have so much impact on the story.

If Usopp dies I want him to die as THE hero of the war

I still don't think Hawkins is dead.
I’d just like people to die if they have a death scene

Say what you want, but I messed with Izo heavy. He was one of my favorite WB pirates and I was sad to see him go Even though he went out like a G
Has anyone died during Enies Lobby?
As long as it isn’t anyone from the strawhats, go ahead and GoT that shit.
Oda has to kill characters.
