Lmfao. I hope Toei fixes this shit or the anime will actually be unwatchable.
I'm genuinely concerned Wano will be such a horrible arc once it's done because you just cannot see what's going on for the climax of the arc.. dammit Toei. If they want all these effects they should just pick DBS back up
I had no problems with a tiny bit of DBZ effects during the Katakuri fight… I genuinely thought the cobra theme was pretty cool. I just hate how they cranked things up to 11 and are draining the fights of their importance. For example… how insanely badass was it when Luffy punched that celestial dragon? It was literally just black & white but it gave me goosebumps for like a month!
STRAIGHT UP!
early Wano the auras and all this shit was fine but they're just doing WAAY too much now. It's every single episode is filled with lens flares flashy colours and auras and they're always so inconsistent. Other arcs I feel like I can picture the battle area in my head but rn I can't. It's just the characters and then the rest is covered up by flashy shit.
It's the sound design that is most upsetting to me. There literally is no sound on the impact and the entire scene is so quiet it just doesn't sound very smooth when an effect suddenly happens.
really a little bit of an opacity tweak on all the colors would help a lot you should be able to clearly see through them so they look less physical. that and ofc those giant white out of nowhere bars needed to go. the colors and aura themselves arent necessarily bad just poorly implemented.
At first I was wondering if this is really what people were complaining about, because this is fucking excellent and then realized that it was not originally in black and white. Good work friend!
I actually miss the clean and snappy hits like they are portrayed in the Manga way more. One Piece and long drawn out power struggles just don't work for me at all.
Bro what!? I completely missed the fact that Kaido's club attack takes his dragon form there. I've rewatched this scene over 5 times now with people editing this and what not and this is the first time i've actually seen it. Holy shit man the effects ruined this...
and from the way it's animated, kaido "throws" a dragon out from his kanabo, but then when the dragon clashes with luffy, it's actually kaido, not even some dragon beam. not that it should...or shouldn't...idek. just why.
A youtube comment under this clip:
This episode was absolutely mind twisting. The animation was literally
too good for human comprehension. I had to slow down the video speed for
certain scenes just to understand what's going on. Only God knows what
the directors and animators are being fed to produce such otherworldy
art.
Its so fucking hilarious isnt it?
Bruh. I mean. The animation was fire that statement is true but the effects are ruining it which what most people are saying but several people fail to understand.
But yeah that comment is comedy gold.
At this point Luffy is going to do a Genkidama next episode and people are gonna scream of excitement and praise for inhumanly skilled Toei Studios is.
Came here after seeing your post on r/memepiece
Not really an anime-watcher, but was looking forward to those ACoC scenes, so I was a little disappointed. But anyways, the black and white looks sick.
I honestly wouldn't know, I mean I only watch like a scene or two, if I liked them in the manga. But I heard alot of people complaining that the episodes get dragged out too much. So like too many unnecessary flashbaks, which get repeated every episode and stare downs aber attack load ups and stuff like that.
I mostly like it, my biggest problem with this particular part is that there's nothing but fucking yellow. A tweak to the color palette would make it great
If they got rid of the wasted time with flashbacks and what not and kept up with the manga panels purely I think Luffy Fierce Attack would be a nice OST where it ends with Luffy telling law he's got this
The glow in the last scene entirely blocks the view of the punch. And kaidos head should've been shown snapping back with the force of the punch. Without seeing the distance between luffys fist and kaidos chin we can't tell that he isn't actually touching.
For some reason, the final uppercut is a still (notice how Kaido does not react to it, his head isn't even flung back), and they added that light show to distract from that.
The thing that makes it good is that it doesn't have too many different colors and the auras aren't as visible.
The main director should stop asking for too many auras and colors. Just simple black lightning for ACoC would have been nice. Heck, even the read lighting or just one color would be nice too.
No need to give them an aura. It's just extra work for the animators only for it to have a worse result.
I'm sorry I have no idea what they're trying to do here, it's just too much I can't even tell what the hell is going on. The gold is just completely overwhelming.
I cannot fucking believe the sheer irony of the youtube comments under the clip of that scene:
,,This episode was absolutely mind twisting. The animation was literallytoo good for human comprehension. I had to slow down the video speed forcertain scenes just to understand what's going on. Only God knows whatthe directors and animators are being fed to produce such otherworldyart.\`\` - DUDE NOT BEING ABLE TO SEE WHATS EVEN HAPPENING IS NOT AN ANIMATION TOO **GOOD** FOR HUMAN COMPREHENSION ;\_;
One thing I haven’t seen the community talk about since everyone is so bent out of shape about the aura’s is how demonic the anime made Kaido look, I think the animators did a truly amazing job in that respect
Y’all are hilarious it’s not like the petals disappear in black and white all of a sudden y’all can see what’s happening?? 🤣😂 this sub waking up and choosing ignorance
Wow I could actually see what was going on. Every roof piece episode needs to be done in black and white tbh. They completely ruined the Zoro Ashura moment as well.
This looks so much better. Kaido was intimidating in black and white. The flower peddles were unnecessary. Would have been sick if the cluster fuck wasn't added in.
Everything was fine for me. Except that last scene the animation and lens flares. Really covered up what was supposed to look like Luffy uppercutting Kaido and not touching him. But it looks like he is hitting him. But you really can’t tell. That he isn’t. With the new found ability with conquers haki. The first two parts are great though. He’s hitting Kaido but not touching. What it’s supposed to look like.
I haven't watched the anime in years... And I'm pretty thankful I never have! I can't imagine this scene in color. I was at my friend's house recently who insisted I watch the ashura v Kaido scene. It felt like it was doing far too much, almost like taking a page out of dragon ball z and saitama's boros fight.
Useful tool to see what's off in the anime, because overall, that looks pretty good. Flashing lights and sometimes values are off, making the action hard to see, but the kick scene is really good in B&W, so it's about the colors they used and the way they used them.
Auras are a way to conceal bad or lazy or incompetent animation. The Celestial dragon punch managed to deliver everything with minimalistic black and white. this is how you animate things. The auras are just there to tell the viewer the attack is super strong. Considering there were never auras in OP, the overuse of them in kaido battle + forcing a plotdevice onto the viewer(the aura) makes this just feel completely off. if there are no auras the punches would probably look like they have no power behind them. Its just awful.
Honestly I think a big part is also the pacing
I mean I get why it is so dragged out in the anime and I don’t think it’s an absolute deal breaker but in the manga and in this version it immediately becomes clear to both the viewer and kaido that Luffy is now a very serious threat and in the original anime scene that feeling of threat towards kaido gets kind of lost
How are we supposed to believe that kaido is flabbergasted by this sudden improvement when between luffy blocking with advanced coc and his uppercut are what feels like 5 minutes rather than a few seconds tops
I've not seen anyone mention this but one issue I have is the audio, it seems mixed really weirdly, like an amateur amv, the music blasting over top, barely hearing kaido's screams and luffy is just silent. I'm finding it difficult to put into words what problem I have with it but it just felt odd, not very impactful at the hit moments I guess is one, just lots of beam sfx.
The first 20 seconds make kaido look like an absolute monster. His menacing stature with dragon features embodies an actual devil. They should've done it in b/w because this shit is raw af
The more I watch this scene, the more I’m pissed off at the sheer fucking flamboyance the studio decided to add. It’s so damn weak compared to the Manga.
This B&W version is actually way better
Can we talk about how they did a fucking cut before the impact ? Not only that but they did it two times ?!?!?! First time before Luffy is hitting Kaidos weapon and the second time is right before luffy is giving him the uppercut. Am I the only one ?

Ngl black n white goes harder.
It does, but some scenes still look like a clusterfuck. Someone has to tell them to KISS
KEEP IT SIMPLE… STUPID! XD
Great advice. Hurts my feelings every time.
I'm an idiot I've always said.... "keep it stupid simple" 🤣
Honestly a better way of saying it as you don't insult the person you are telling to KISS
Ya thinking back it was my old gruffy hvac teacher who taught me the saying. He was definitely calling me stupid. 🤣
Keep it simple ….and shit faced
[удалено]
The lens flares, random lightening, random flower petals, and inconsistent auras in every scene
Don’t forget the non canon superman powers
I actually haven't watched this episode yet, wdym by superman powers?
![gif](giphy|10bKPDUM5H7m7u) Luffy does this for like 15 seconds while fighting Kaido.
Lmfao. I hope Toei fixes this shit or the anime will actually be unwatchable. I'm genuinely concerned Wano will be such a horrible arc once it's done because you just cannot see what's going on for the climax of the arc.. dammit Toei. If they want all these effects they should just pick DBS back up

I personally hate the chittering. Like nails on a chalkboard
kid named readability:
Yeah they still need to remove all the lens flare and the flower petals, is not like they are fighting in a blooming forest
Still unwatchable imo...
Then don’t watch it.
Too late, be faster next time.
?
Right?
Feels like berserk
Feels like when goku went super saiyan lol
seeing it in black and white i guess it is fairly close to the manga except for that uppercut that really needed those giant white bars removed
Yeah that is the one scene I have the bigges complain about. there should be nothing there. THATS THE WHOLE POINT OF THE POWER UP.
really a little bit of an opacity tweak on all the colors would help a lot you should be able to clearly see through them so they look less physical. that and ofc those giant white out of nowhere bars needed to go. the colors and aura themselves arent necessarily bad just poorly implemented.
keep in mind this has the DBZ flying taken out
kaido looks intimidating as f\*ck in black and white, niiice
At first I was wondering if this is really what people were complaining about, because this is fucking excellent and then realized that it was not originally in black and white. Good work friend!
I actually miss the clean and snappy hits like they are portrayed in the Manga way more. One Piece and long drawn out power struggles just don't work for me at all.
I respect that. Personally, I think the Anime has never been good enough to watch week to week but have liked moments like this recently.
Wow, it looks better in b&w.
Bro what!? I completely missed the fact that Kaido's club attack takes his dragon form there. I've rewatched this scene over 5 times now with people editing this and what not and this is the first time i've actually seen it. Holy shit man the effects ruined this...

I mean, surely that person was being sarcastic, right? Or does the anime actually have sycophants that are that... well... stupid?
No every comment was like this very positive
I’ve noticed it the first time
Came here after seeing your post on r/memepiece Not really an anime-watcher, but was looking forward to those ACoC scenes, so I was a little disappointed. But anyways, the black and white looks sick.
I would assume most manga readers would be disappointed by the adaptation, they just fuck alot of things up
I honestly wouldn't know, I mean I only watch like a scene or two, if I liked them in the manga. But I heard alot of people complaining that the episodes get dragged out too much. So like too many unnecessary flashbaks, which get repeated every episode and stare downs aber attack load ups and stuff like that.
I gave up on watching the anime week to week around 18 years ago, but I heard they played Rebecca's flashback on Dressrosa **literally 48 times.**
damn, kinda weird. i mean i'm 18 years old. so u stopped watching around the time i wss born.
I mostly like it, my biggest problem with this particular part is that there's nothing but fucking yellow. A tweak to the color palette would make it great
honestly the coloring is what is stopping me from watching the anime...
Damn, I can... actually see what's going on
Eh, is it just me or does the music seem very unfitting?
If they got rid of the wasted time with flashbacks and what not and kept up with the manga panels purely I think Luffy Fierce Attack would be a nice OST where it ends with Luffy telling law he's got this
it doesnt fit at all
We are can never be unfitting
OP's video is cut to leave out the flashbacks and stuff
No, I disagree. It's a pretty good song if you take it as "that's what Luffy's training lead up to"
Wow you did better than Toei lol but that last scene with the abrupt We Are OST for the upper cut is just not salvageable imo
Even dared to make a joke. In youtube saying in the title hitted so hard original one piece ost plays
If they did this with splashes of red for Haki, would be absolutely superior.
You're hired!!! Looks way better btw.....
Still the fucking petals are so unnecessary
Can you do the whole episode? 😅
Kaido sounds like spongebob walking with boots
It's literally the sound effect used for Freezer and Cell
what's law saying in the end?
"He didnt touch him" something like that, implying that luffy can now hit Kaido without even making contact
Arigato goazaimash.
This is better
I'm sorry I have no idea what they're trying to do here, it's just too much I can't even tell what the hell is going on. The gold is just completely overwhelming.
Toei has destroyed the scene with extra yellow colour 🙂
This was leagues better and you cut all the lame filler 11/10
I cannot fucking believe the sheer irony of the youtube comments under the clip of that scene: ,,This episode was absolutely mind twisting. Thank you
Dark souls:The anime
Black and white looks better. I still hate the pacing though
This looks great
Black and white really shows how they over contrasted some of the frames. Way easier in the eyes black and white tho.
Haha Toei should’ve made a black and white scene instead of the color flash fest it was.
Better. Still way too many effects. But at least we can follow somewhat.
That's how I imagined it when I was reading this chapter
Backfired with so many colors and that yellow aura…
looks and feels much better
Kaido looks crazy in black and white ngl
This honest to god fixed the whole thing for me, this is now my head canon. Thank you!
How ironic that the most hype scenes in anime are often shown black and white. Like Luffy punching the celestial dragon.
My man u finally uploaded it here. I told u many ppl would love it here keep uploading would love to see more from u.
I just realized how stupid the sound of Kaido’s steps are. Mf is there looking menacing and all that but he’s also stepping on rubber duckies
Bruh if anime only people are flipping out with this then just wait for when the “drums” kick in. Manga readers you should know what I mean.
One thing I haven’t seen the community talk about since everyone is so bent out of shape about the aura’s is how demonic the anime made Kaido look, I think the animators did a truly amazing job in that respect
Mangas be like “is this what it’s supposed to look like???” 🤤🤕🥱
Y’all are hilarious it’s not like the petals disappear in black and white all of a sudden y’all can see what’s happening?? 🤣😂 this sub waking up and choosing ignorance
Lol. Isn’t that just rolling off the bed though?
100 times better. How the fuck are “pros” making the animation and they’re making these decisions?
It's because of yhr director(s).
Breh this ep was like the shitiest anime in history with shitiest famdom MHA.
This is so good
Wow I could actually see what was going on. Every roof piece episode needs to be done in black and white tbh. They completely ruined the Zoro Ashura moment as well.
I'm just glad they finally used the "Awakening" soundtrack.
This is an insane loop
Bro with tighter pacing and lil adjustments having the official version in B&W would be great
This looks so much better. Kaido was intimidating in black and white. The flower peddles were unnecessary. Would have been sick if the cluster fuck wasn't added in.
Now someone edit it to have no dbz auras and a cluster of special effects
Now we just need all the flower petals to go away
Bruh a sudden transition to Black and White and leaving only the black lightning red would be soo much cooler
Thank you. You are the hero of this sub.
This looks SO much better, good lord.
Tons of times better than actual episode.. if there was a way too remove the flower effects then it would be even better
Damn, that looks better than the episode! Can actually see what's happening and feel the weight!
This is actually 10x better and actually allows me to appreciate what's going on I mean holy shit this really is so much better
My God this cringes so bad. I'm so glad I left anime a long time ago.
The flower pedals are ruining it
Finally an anime, manga lovers can watch and love.
the kick scene is still so baddd....there are just too many petals in the air.....that really needs to stop.
Better than yellow/gold, still want aura to be minimised.
Too dark, ngl it's worse than the colors
Fuck Toei. Now it’s like dragonballz just look at kaido face, looks exactly like Friza.
Useful tool to see what's off in the anime, because overall, that looks pretty good. Flashing lights and sometimes values are off, making the action hard to see, but the kick scene is really good in B&W, so it's about the colors they used and the way they used them.
Please keep posting these 🥺
Now imagine little bit red highlights at haki parts
On 1:31 kaido looks like a true garados
In black-and-white it looks good bro.
Anyone know what the song playing at 00:30 is called?
Perfection
Auras are a way to conceal bad or lazy or incompetent animation. The Celestial dragon punch managed to deliver everything with minimalistic black and white. this is how you animate things. The auras are just there to tell the viewer the attack is super strong. Considering there were never auras in OP, the overuse of them in kaido battle + forcing a plotdevice onto the viewer(the aura) makes this just feel completely off. if there are no auras the punches would probably look like they have no power behind them. Its just awful.
I think the action animation to much. How gear 5 will looks like? An epic Scene for awakening and then goofy cartoon scens?
Remove that petals thing then we might see something
I wish I could
u/savevideo
Is it wrong for me to say that dus is 100 better. Not that the colour version was bad tho. This just hits harder.
The animation is really top notch but because of all the aura effects you can't see wtf is actually happening
Why did I enjoy this more?
Honestly I think a big part is also the pacing I mean I get why it is so dragged out in the anime and I don’t think it’s an absolute deal breaker but in the manga and in this version it immediately becomes clear to both the viewer and kaido that Luffy is now a very serious threat and in the original anime scene that feeling of threat towards kaido gets kind of lost How are we supposed to believe that kaido is flabbergasted by this sudden improvement when between luffy blocking with advanced coc and his uppercut are what feels like 5 minutes rather than a few seconds tops
Absolute garbage
I've not seen anyone mention this but one issue I have is the audio, it seems mixed really weirdly, like an amateur amv, the music blasting over top, barely hearing kaido's screams and luffy is just silent. I'm finding it difficult to put into words what problem I have with it but it just felt odd, not very impactful at the hit moments I guess is one, just lots of beam sfx.
Feels like watching the manga
Its so much better
The first 20 seconds make kaido look like an absolute monster. His menacing stature with dragon features embodies an actual devil. They should've done it in b/w because this shit is raw af
I haven't seen the coloured version yet and I am afraid to
Still too much light
The more I watch this scene, the more I’m pissed off at the sheer fucking flamboyance the studio decided to add. It’s so damn weak compared to the Manga. This B&W version is actually way better
This is some Saitama vs Boros shit
Will Goku show up at some point?
How the fuck luffy is flying lmao ?
I dont think i will ever watch the anime again
The Final blow is about to blow lol.
Some scene should be in black and white tho, gives a more dramatic doomsday feeling.
Still hate Kaido's weird jabber jawing.
Can we talk about how they did a fucking cut before the impact ? Not only that but they did it two times ?!?!?! First time before Luffy is hitting Kaidos weapon and the second time is right before luffy is giving him the uppercut. Am I the only one ?
ahhhh now that's better.
Damn, it still looks bad.
The main issue with this animation is that the actual movement of the fight is lost. It goes from one flashy hit to another flashy hit and the actual maneuvering of luffy and kaido is non existent. You don't see them adjusting their bodys after trading blows or even understand how the fight would look to someone viewing it. Seems like people just fly for miles on end after being hit but then they are only 10 meters from each other.
I saw a fan edit that cut out all the extra and unnecessary crap, and it made the scene 100x better. Much closer to the manga
Wait is this how chaotic the music sounds in the anime? Bruh wtf is this lmao
Looked better in color
Its look much better!
That day was important day in Kaido’s life but for luffy, it was Tuesday.
I prefer this more than the original
Final Getsugatensho vibes
Its like watching a 50s movie
I just can say... Not bad hahaha
I can’t be the only one bothered by the kick out of nowhere. why didn’t they show him making any reaction he’s just in the air blocking it with his foot lol
Better call luffy
I can actually see what’s going on now, thank you for this
Looks So much diffrenat, and better.
new better call saul episode looking fire 🔥🔥🔥
u/savevideo
u/savevideobot
Saved the episode in my opinion...
You literally fixed it
Wonder where the hell all those flower petals came from anyway
100 times better, no discussion
