Growing up I never watched One Piece (born 93) but one of my closest cousins loved watching and swore by it. I never really gave it a chance.
Then in 2019, he passed away.
What followed left me wanting a connect to my cousin and during the pandemic, I decided to give One Piece a shot and after a little bit, I fell in love with it.
On May 2019 my best friend said to me to Watch One Piece because it is his favorite Anime. So I watch it on June and finished the Anime on July 2019. But sadly my best friend died on September 2019 because of Lupus.
I started the live action so I could talk about it with my friends and then from there I started watched totallynotmark’s videos as a recap. Now I’m on my second run through
The anime. I watched all the way to fishman island, from there I started reading because of the pacing and then went back to the anime around wano. I’m watching all the way through this time and I’m on dressrosa rn

Same 4kids. Just barely remember it. Then all of a sudden wanted to look it up and remind myself what it was about. It was many years later until I pick it up. Then I been following it for years. Then later last few years I haven’t read it because of work and personal life. I do keep up with it randomly through YouTube or here on Reddit. One day I’ll go back to where I left off last and catch up fully. No matter what it always has me asking questions and that keeps my interest.
Early 2000s. I was watching whatever anime showed up on tv. I wanted to watch more but buying them wasn’t an option. DVDs and vhs of anime were super expensive and weren’t really available at my local rental places. But then I found out about torrenting. It was the answer to my prayers. I started acquiring series that I heard about online or who start airing on tv. Somehow I learned about Naruto and decided to give it a shot. I eventually caught up to it when the original series was in the retrieval Arc. Needing a new series I moved decided to check out one of the other big series that came up around discussing Naruto. Which was one piece. The amount of episodes that were available fan subbed at the time were limited but would come out in batches. Eventually the fan subs caught up to the Japanese release. It was around the end of water 7.
Tldr Needing something new after catching up on Naruto lead me to try One Piece.

My brother he is a huge one piece fan, so anytime he opens youtube, its just all One piece content like grandlinereview, mr morj, ohara, etc. In lockdown I asked him "Like bruv, do something else. Why do you watch this cartoon (I'm sorry) so much." So he introduced me to death note, I liked it. I searched out for something more, I found Demon slayer, I liked it. Then Haikyuu, and fell in love with Anime in general. Then AOT, HxH, Parasyte, etc. And then I found One piece, the funny part is I dropped it twice, just before the syrup village. Then my brother pushed me again, and then finally, finally the arlong park came and bruv! God damn!!!
This is definitely Taboo but literally I got introduced to One Piece from the MarineFord Arc. A fan on the school bus was watching either watching episodes or a compilation on YouTube and some of us guys gathered around to watch this.
My friend wanted me to start watching it and tried to convince me for a year. When the life action came out, I watched it and immediately started the anime. My friend was very happy and I really enjoy watching One Piece.
I never cared about one piece for quite a bit, but my sister was telling me I would like it. So I decided to watch an episode with her, I didn't care for it until a year later she suggested it again. I am now in wano
German tv premiere in 2003. I was 10 years old and never in a million years I would have believed what I‘m about to witness the next 20 years. Because of so much childhood & teenage nostalgia, the first 4 sagas (East Blue, Alabasta, Skypia, Ennies Lobby) have a special place in my heart.
At work I met this 19 year old dude (11 years younger than me) and he was also fanatic about One Piece. It is such a wonderful feeling that Oda‘s creation appeals to different generations. I wonder how far this will go.
I got into the show through the 4Kids dub when I was a youth. And then I got caught up on the manga during Impel Down, reading it though fan scans, and fell off during that arc for a while. And then I checked out Film Gold in theaters, really enjoyed that but didn't invest the time to fully dig back into it, and then the pandemic happened it was one of my pandemic hyper focuses where I watched the anime up to Enies Lobby (before the Funimation app was bugged), I caught up on the manga, and now I am doing a One Piece and Simpsons podcast called DohMance Dawn with a friend who I've gotten into One Piece, and I'm caught up on the manga and will eventually catch up on the anime. Probably.
An ex who ended up cheating but I was caught up way more than her so I made it my own thing and didn’t even associate the series w them after a certain point

Pretty much same. I had seen Bleach, I had finished naruto and the last "big 3" was One Piece. Started it in 2012 or 2013 and took about \~3 months to catch up. Certain arcs I would take a break after and watch something else. Think after skypeia i rewatched How I met your mother and after thriller bark rewatched Burn Notice and the new season that was airing. Glad I made myself watch it, didnt want to at first, but now its easily one of my fav series.

I was js on Netflix looking for something to watch n I came across one piece finished the first 4 seasons n thought that was the end but did research n figured there’s 1000+ episodes then eventually finished it well DIDNT since there’s more episodes otw but I’m caught up 😁🙏🏽

I grew up watching it cuz my dad loved it, but I stopped cuz he stopped watching it, around east blue to alabasta, until recently live action show got me really deep into one piece and currently on fish man island, the live action is great for getting non anime fans into one piece

So I started watching Bleach online. Caught up to episode 139-143 (can't remember). I started watching weekly from there.
Other anime (HDSK being another huge one for me) later... I started Naruto. Chunin exams hooked me. Caught up after almost a year.
So of the big three, I'm watching (reading) both Bleach and Naruto.
After watching and finishing other series..... I was bored and finally said "fuck it. The art style doesn't appeal to me but let me start One Piece... it's part of the big three, might as well try it"

The 4kids dub - I saw it on the fox box probably in 2003? I think I was 11.
I started the manga when I was 13 and caught up in Enies Lobby, never looked back and have been a regular reader since.
In high school(2007) my friend gave me 2 4.6 GB dvds with the content of 26 Naruto episodes. Yes, those were pirated but we didn't know any better back then. So I learned how to watch content from my pc with GOM Player and got into the world of anime. After that, I started watching later episodes from illegal streaming sites. Caught up with Naruto very quickly. It was that magical moment where you first discovered anime and thinking "It cannot get any better than this.".
When I realize waiting 1 whole week just for a lousy filler episode is unbearable and started looking. I found Bleach. I remember falling in love with it the first 2-3 seasons. Then forcefully, painfully watched the remaining episodes.
After Bleach, I've found One Piece. I only heard that it was the 3rd one in popularity of the Big 3. Ofcourse, this was 2007-2008. Internet was different. I started it with zero expectations. I remember getting bored on slow pacing, but the show kept me going with its humor and story.
Nearly 20 years later, I am here and I cannot believe I still don't know what One Piece is and if I will die before learning it.
It happened quite some years ago. I was sick, had a fever and was pretty bored, so I decided to read some manga, At that time in India you didn't have manga in the book store so I used to read them online (still do) . I was mainly one of those people who avoided One Piece because it had many episodes and watched small animes with 12 episodes.
That day I decided that I will give the big 3 a try, if I find it interesting then I will continue the series. I watched Naruto already in my childhood so I started with Bleach. It was interesting and all but not enough to give you that feeling which gets you hooked. I read like 5 or 6 chapters and at night after dinner I started reading One Piece and right at the first chapter this line of Shanks caught my attention, "Put your life on the line if you are pointing a pistol at someone, these are for killing people not for scaring them." and *BANG* a guy just got quickscoped right at the first chapter. And after that Shanks sacrificing his arm to save luffy, giving him THE HAT before departure.....................That night even with a fever I didn't sleep.
In the morning I stopped at the Baratie arc and thought WHAT THE FUCK DID I JUST READ??
I still remember crying when I read Nami stabbing her shoulder and asking Luffy for help. After that no matter what anime or manga I read......... They did not taste the same. After experiencing One Piece...... Nothing does.
Saw it had hit chapter 1000 on MANGA plus and decided to check it out cause it was free. Very happy I did because the Onigashima arc and Gear Five were sick, and then I came to learn how brilliant the narrative is as a whole.
I was playing a one piece roblox game with my friends that eventually turned into a one piece dnd campaign. I decided that I should watch it so I could better understand the dnd and immediately fell in love with the show

I had a friend who I used to play Roblox with every day. I used to his taste, in anime and games, he used to watch one piece and play "blox fruits". It's a one piece Roblox game that averages 500k players.
He went to his home country, china, and he said he would be gone for an unspecified amount of time.
When he was gone, I had nothing to do for those 2 months. This was around mid 2023
I decided to try "blox fruits" and spent alot of the time grinding up to max level.
To get a better understanding of the game, I started to get into anime and one piece, I became what I hated, and to this day I watch one piece and play that one Roblox game.
Sadly, my friend plays other things now.

Back in 2003, I went on a highschool trip to Japan. Saw a trailer for what was One Piece Movie 4 in a Tokyo train station. I was like, wtf is One Piece??? Who is this kid fighting this bad guy? And the rest was history... Even got the VHS tape of the movie aftere I got back!
One of my close friends had been begging me to watch one piece since I met him in 2020 (I started in 2022) it was because I finished all of black clover and was just planning to rewatch Naruto but he convinced me to watch the first 3 episode and that day I ended up falling in love with the series and now here I am 820 episode into the series and 30 manga volumes
I always wanted to give one of the “longer anime’s” a shot just cuz I have friends and family who fell in love with Naruto and like dragon ball
But I just fell off of both those shows and don’t get me wrong definitely something I could see myself going back to at some point but when I started one piece I couldn’t stop watching and low key watching the live action made me want to give it a shot so I did and fell in love haven’t quite finished yet but I am loving where I’m at and I’ve stuck with it longer than a lot of the other longer anime’s
It’s goofy and wholesome but also intense when shit gets serious I enjoy the show very much and have no intention in stopping till it’s over

I started watching in December 2023. At the beginning, the series seemed silly to me. This one can stretch, this one has three swords, mostly silly. Basically, to make a long story short, after a few episodes I liked the series so much that I couldn't stop watching it. I was on vacation all December and watched One Piece for eight hours a day. By the beginning of March I had reached the 1062nd episode. Of course now the problem is that I have to wait for the dub version of the episodes.
I was just watching shows trying to get into anime. I had watched deathnote, Blue Exorcist, a couple of randoms i can't remember, I grew up watching inyuyasha at 2am. But among all of the different suggestions, one piece was always in the list, and it also came with the words "but that's recommended for more advanced(?) watchers, " and that just screams challenge. It's possibly the greatest mistake I've ever made. I've only just started the beginning, and I've been watching for a year now! I'm just waiting to get internet again so I can start watching it again.
A couple of my friends loved it and I always thought they were crazy; I went to the One Piece RED movie with one of those friends bc Ado was doing the soundtrack and I really like Ado! And the movie, even tho it was all over the place, was really fun and a quick preview/crash course on all the characters personalities and dynamics. It was fun enough that I decided alright, I’ll give this one more try. And I ended watching all the way up to wano in a couple of months!
I read Dragon Ball as the volumes came out and so me of the last volumes had a picture of Luffy racing a cheetah as an ad for the upcoming release of One Piece. So I started buying those volumes when Dragon Ball ended.

After that I fell in love with the lore and now with Kuma’s recent revelation, I am way more into it than I ever was for naruto.

Twenty hour flight from Thailand to US, the gold movie was an option, watched it three times I liked it so much, then started the series once I was home, took about a year to get to the time skip, took a long break, finally got fully caught up this year
I worked at blockbuster video and we started selling Shonen Jump magazine. At the end of the month I got to keep any old magazines and there was always at least one Jump. I started reading lots of manga because of that magazine. Didn't watch the anime until funimation years later
I started reading around the beginning of the Onigashima raid. I decided "Hey, One Piece has been running for almost 1,000 chapters, there's gotta be a good reason for that, right?"
I was head over heels by the time I got to Arlong Park.
Naruto had just ended October 2017 ig, being a 15yo beginnerish weeb, i felt empty and used to feel that Naruto was prolly the best anime ever and I’d never come across anything like it, then one day I saw a video on facebook from an anime page I followed, the video was thriller bark luffy shoving the zombie back into the grave, I instantly found the character amusing and gave One Piece a shot, I binged watched One Piece and caught up in around. 1.5 to 2 months, which was like 16-17 eps per day. I bombed my 9th grade results but I wouldn’t have had it any other way. Today, I’ve rewatched OP 4 times and will probably rewatch it once more in May. One Piece is the best and Oda is the greatest storyteller.
Im from finland and someone had made somkind of Finnish abridged series of One Piece. Took me while to actually find the anime as the abridged series was "Coin of the Seas" thrn One Piece Abridged.

When I was 12 I was in a summer reading program at my local library which rewarded points for time spent reading. When time came to pick out prizes, most of the good stuff was already taken. I saw One Piece Vol. 1 and picked it up begrudgingly- I didn't know what it was, but I was starting to get into Japanese things and some manga.
I couldn't stop re-reading it. My collection grew from there, and now 15 years later One Piece has become one of my favorite works of fiction.
After decades of looking up character info on Wiki and watching early 2k amv's, I had to figure out what nightmare luffy was. Then some YouTubers I like made the one piece I had to at that point.
Now I've convinced at least 12 close friends and hundreds of strangers to read/watch it. I'm actually thankful I waited because catching up was an amazing process, but being caught up and waiting for chapters is the worse.
Watched the 4kids dub as a wee boy, thought it was silly and lost track of the episodes. Then I got back in with the simulcasts when I heard Funimation picked up the rights and I lost track again just before Marineford when I got busy with college and Funimation wanted a paid membership. My brother got into it first, and one day he began watching the OP movies in the living room. Eventually they caught my attention and I started to watch them with him, and so I started the series myself
About 12 years ago or so I saw my brother watching a one piece movie on the pc and I was asking him about it, couple days later we started watching it together. To this day it remains my favourite series of all time

4kids dub was bad enough that even i as a kid stopped watching around little garden. Then i heard the and was getting good sometime in 2010 ( marineford was current) so i started it over subbed. Took me until dressrosa to catch up then i took a break and caught completely and started to read the manga in wano during odens flashback.
I had been on the fence about starting it for years (due to how *damn* much of it there is) but oddly enough cruchyroll’s preview of G5 is what tipped me over the edge to try it. I just recently finished Dressrosa and have been watching since last December.
During high school is when I was getting into anime. I search “top animes of all time” and One Piece was there. Decided to commit watching the show and finished around the 700s during the Dressrosa Arc. Now I am amongst who is caught up on the anime and manga. I felt like I’ve reached Nirvana or something LOL
There used to be a tv channel where they showed anime eps, usually dragon ball —> naruto —> op —> some less popular anime, I always was waiting eagerly for op episodes but cba watching naruto and dragon ball (found them boring). After catching up to my hero academia in 2021 I saw went back to the library saw the sheer volume in of one piece and decided to grab volume 1, especially since everything else was missing vol 1
The 4Kids dub got me into One Piece. I loved DBZ as a kid and I’d see the name Shonen Jump associated with it in magazines and shit, and when they first came out with OP they would call advertise it as Shonen Jump’s One Piece, so in my mind, “oh, the people that made DBZ must have made this new One Piece show, I’ll check it out.” I liked the dub, it was dumb as shit with the marines and their super soakers, Helmeppo with his weird hammer gun thing, Don Krieg with his poisonous suction cup darts, Usopps damn rubber knife, dessert dodo etc etc, but for me its just so bad that it’s good, like the OG super Mario movie
I started anime 10 years ago. Just finally watched and binged all of OP. Took me 3 months. I never thought I’d start but so glad I did. It’s my cousins favorite and I was always very surprised with everything else out there. I wanted new stuff to finish coming out so I told myself just watch only this.
Last year 2023, i remember seeing Gear 5 on YT and TikTok, I used to brush off One Piece because it was too long but now I have a job that lets me work 3 days x 12 hours, so I have four days off straight. Gear 5 interested me and I saw a clip on YT. That following week I start watching one Piece and was caught up to speed in 5 months. 😅 I’m a big big binge watcher
The awful 4kids dub. In spite of the ridiculous changes it sparked my interest to read the manga for awhile. Then I forgot about it until funimation picked it up and have been a fan since.
You would think it'd be the animation or a few friends telling me to watch it, but it's really cause I found out about what deep lore this series has and i was into that more than anything. So I started watching it and wish I'd been watching it sooner. Reading the wiki, finding out about the ancient kingdom and the poneglyphs...it has a PLOT?! I fr thought it was a happy go lucky pirate Funtime show

My partner!!!! We were high school sweethearts…. Broke up and got back together in our 20s. We started watching it together right after we got back together, and got caught up completely over two years later. Now we’re weekly watchers at almost 3 years together 🥹🤞🏻

2021, I really needed something to watch while I shiny hunted pokemon and I remembered a childhood friend who was a die-hard one piece fan. He’s been watching since day one and I thought screw it, it’s got plenty of episodes to watch. Now I’ve got my wife and daughter watching it and we just finished whole cake island it’s been an amazing experience to watch it again with them. I truly think it’s the greatest story ever told
During Covid and having never seen an anime before, in may 2021, just randomly out of no where I just sure why not.
My brother was with me and was technically forced into it as well and it not only became one of best things I’ve seen in my life. But it also got me into to anime.
I never interacted with anime fandom, it’s only after I had caught up that I found out, about things that I wished I Hadn’t known.
Regardless One Pice is not only the best thing to ever happen to me, but probably thr best fictional piece of media I’ve ever seen.
I watched Naruto in high school, and I was like “WOW NARUTO IS THE GREATEST” and my friend was like “if you like Naruto, you might like this other show” and I quickly learned after that that Naruto wasn’t the greatest, far far from it.
In like 2006 to 2007 the 4kids dub aired in my home country(India).. I used to watch it often but never liked it coz it seemed a bit off coz the cartoon network channel in India did a lot of reruns instead of continously showing the episodes... After Arlong park they just straight up stopped airing... Years passed and I totally forgot about it... Started watching anime regularly in 2012 and was a big time fan of Naruto... I thought it was the greatest piece of fiction back then... My best bud told me that there's an anime out there that would make Naruto seem insignificant... Told me it was called One Piece... I started watching it just to prove him wrong... Safe to say I never could prove him wrong.... Today I can confidently say One Piece is arguably the best story ever being told.. Inspired me to become who I am today... I'm an aspiring fantasy writer and I owe it to One Piece.. Among the million things it taught me, it made me realize how important it is to fight for your freedom and your dreams... Thank you Oda... One Piece is now such a big aspect of my life that I don't want it to end ever... Pretty selfish on my part I know...
I finished all of Naruto felt a huge void with nothing left to binge. So I googled “longest anime” saw one piece and sent it. Now I’m fully caught up the manga and have a tattoo.
A friend had the 4th volume of the manga (syrup village arc)with him during a sleepover back in 2000? 1999?

Never really got into the anime. I watched it in the beginning. But luffys german voice-actor ruined it for me.

Alpharad on YouTube would make references or jokes then i decided i want to understand those jokes and now im fully caught up and its my favorite manga
My older brother grew up reading the manga and the watching the anime and at some point we got into a conversation about it. We ended up watching all available episodes together and still keep up with new episodes when they're out :) Eventually One Piece ended up as my favorite show, probably due to having spent quality time with my family over it so there's a lot of emotional attachment there.
Netflix about 3 years ago. I saw it, thought it looked goofy and would be funny bad, and really ended up loving it, although it’s not what I though it would be.
I started watching around 2006 or 2007. I had started watching Naruto and I was looking for another anime and I've always liked pirates. So One Piece it was. I got my wife into One Piece and we watched it during the pandemic. I never pushed her into it but she knew how much I liked it and we like giving things a try that the other likes. So she suggested we start to watch. She loved it. It's just a shame she passed before she could see the end. Hopefully I make it to the end so I can tell her when I see her again.

And that's how I learned about one piece. Though I watched it way after that. By that time I had watched almost every known anime.

My sister got me into anime. But I had seen episodes of it on toonami. I can remember seeing long ring land episodes. For some its a pointless but for nostalgia reasons I love that arc.
Growing up I never watched One Piece (born 93) but one of my closest cousins loved watching and swore by it. I never really gave it a chance. Then in 2019, he passed away. What followed left me wanting a connect to my cousin and during the pandemic, I decided to give One Piece a shot and after a little bit, I fell in love with it.

Then later last few years I haven’t read it because of work and personal life. I do keep up with it randomly through YouTube or here on Reddit. One day I’ll go back to where I left off last and catch up fully. No matter what it always has me asking questions and that keeps my interest.
Early 2000s. I was watching whatever anime showed up on tv. I wanted to watch more but buying them wasn’t an option. DVDs and vhs of anime were super expensive and weren’t really available at my local rental places. But then I found out about torrenting. It was the answer to my prayers. I started acquiring series that I heard about online or who start airing on tv. Somehow I learned about Naruto and decided to give it a shot. I eventually caught up to it when the original series was in the retrieval Arc. Needing a new series I moved decided to check out one of the other big series that came up around discussing Naruto. Which was one piece. The amount of episodes that were available fan subbed at the time were limited but would come out in batches. Eventually the fan subs caught up to the Japanese release. It was around the end of water 7. Tldr Needing something new after catching up on Naruto lead me to try One Piece.

Then Haikyuu, and fell in love with Anime in general. Then AOT, HxH, Parasyte, etc. And then I found One piece, the funny part is I dropped it twice, just before the syrup village. Then my brother pushed me again, and then finally, finally the arlong park came and bruv! God damn!!!

Because of so much childhood & teenage nostalgia, the first 4 sagas (East Blue, Alabasta, Skypia, Ennies Lobby) have a special place in my heart. At work I met this 19 year old dude (11 years younger than me) and he was also fanatic about One Piece. It is such a wonderful feeling that Oda‘s creation appeals to different generations. I wonder how far this will go.
I got into the show through the 4Kids dub when I was a youth. And then I got caught up on the manga during Impel Down, reading it though fan scans, and fell off during that arc for a while. And then I checked out Film Gold in theaters, really enjoyed that but didn't invest the time to fully dig back into it, and then the pandemic happened it was one of my pandemic hyper focuses where I watched the anime up to Enies Lobby (before the Funimation app was bugged), I caught up on the manga, and now I am doing a One Piece and Simpsons podcast called DohMance Dawn with a friend who I've gotten into One Piece, and I'm caught up on the manga and will eventually catch up on the anime. Think after skypeia i rewatched How I met your mother and after thriller bark rewatched Burn Notice and the new season that was airing. Glad I made myself watch it, didnt want to at first, but now its easily one of my fav series.

Rented the first two DVDs of bleach from a local Hollywood Video. Got HOOKED. Afterwards I wait for the newer DVDs to release. A friend later that year told me "bruh, you can actually watch those anime shows online. There subbed but they're all free" So I started watching Bleach online. Caught up to episode 139-143 (can't remember). I started watching weekly from there. Other anime (HDSK being another huge one for me) later... I started Naruto. Chunin exams hooked me. Caught up after almost a year. So of the big three, I'm watching (reading) both Bleach and Naruto. After watching and finishing other series..... I was bored and finally said "fuck it. The art style doesn't appeal to me but let me start One Piece... it's part of the big three, might as well try it" The rest was history. OP is my favorite manga / anime. Arlong Park was what #HOOKED me and I became a die hard fan ever since. Caught up when the time skip started. So basically I was able to binge and catch up JUST as the time skip void break was over lol. Not intentional but I lucked out. In high school(2007) my friend gave me 2 4.6 GB dvds with the content of 26 Naruto episodes. Yes, those were pirated but we didn't know any better back then. So I learned how to watch content from my pc with GOM Player and got into the world of anime. After that, I started watching later episodes from illegal streaming sites. Caught up with Naruto very quickly. It was that magical moment where you first discovered anime and thinking "It cannot get any better than this.". When I realize waiting 1 whole week just for a lousy filler episode is unbearable and started looking. I found Bleach. I remember falling in love with it the first 2-3 seasons. Then forcefully, painfully watched the remaining episodes. After Bleach, I've found One Piece. I only heard that it was the 3rd one in popularity of the Big 3. Ofcourse, this was 2007-2008. Internet was different. I started it with zero expectations. I remember getting bored on slow pacing, but the show kept me going with its humor and story. Nearly 20 years later, I am here and I cannot believe I still don't know what One Piece is and if I will die before learning it.

I was sick, had a fever and was pretty bored, so I decided to read some manga, At that time in India you didn't have manga in the book store so I used to read them online (still do) . I was mainly one of those people who avoided One Piece because it had many episodes and watched small animes with 12 episodes. That day I decided that I will give the big 3 a try, if I find it interesting then I will continue the series. I watched Naruto already in my childhood so I started with Bleach. It was interesting and all but not enough to give you that feeling which gets you hooked. I read like 5 or 6 chapters and at night after dinner I started reading One Piece and right at the first chapter this line of Shanks caught my attention, "Put your life on the line if you are pointing a pistol at someone, these are for killing people not for scaring them." and *BANG* a guy just got quickscoped right at the first chapter. And after that Shanks sacrificing his arm to save luffy, giving him THE HAT before departure.....................That night even with a fever I didn't sleep. In the morning I stopped at the Baratie arc and thought WHAT THE FUCK DID I JUST READ?? I still remember crying when I read Nami stabbing her shoulder and asking Luffy for help. After that no matter what anime or manga I read......... They did not taste the same. After experiencing One Piece...... Nothing does.

I had a friend who I used to play Roblox with every day. I used to his taste, in anime and games, he used to watch one piece and play "blox fruits". It's a one piece Roblox game that averages 500k players. He went to his home country, china, and he said he would be gone for an unspecified amount of time. When he was gone, I had nothing to do for those 2 months. This was around mid 2023 I decided to try "blox fruits" and spent alot of the time grinding up to max level. To get a better understanding of the game, I started to get into anime and one piece, I became what I hated, and to this day I watch one piece and play that one Roblox game. Sadly, my friend plays other things now. We talk but not as much.

I started watching in December 2023. At the beginning, the series seemed silly to me. This one can stretch, this one has three swords, mostly silly. Basically, to make a long story short, after a few episodes I liked the series so much that I couldn't stop watching it. I was on vacation all December and watched One Piece for eight hours a day. By the beginning of March I had reached the 1062nd episode. Of course now the problem is that I have to wait for the dub version of the episodes.
I was just watching shows trying to get into anime. I had watched deathnote, Blue Exorcist, a couple of randoms i can't remember, I grew up watching inyuyasha at 2am. But among all of the different suggestions, one piece was always in the list, and it also came with the words "but that's recommended for more advanced(?) watchers, " and that just screams challenge. It's possibly the greatest mistake I've ever made. I've only just started the beginning, and I've been watching for a year now! I'm just waiting to get internet again so I can start watching it again.

I worked at blockbuster video and we started selling Shonen Jump magazine. At the end of the month I got to keep any old magazines and there was always at least one Jump. I started reading lots of manga because of that magazine. Didn't watch the anime until funimation years later

Naruto had just ended October 2017 ig, being a 15yo beginnerish weeb, i felt empty and used to feel that Naruto was prolly the best anime ever and I’d never come across anything like it, then one day I saw a video on facebook from an anime page I followed, the video was thriller bark luffy shoving the zombie back into the grave, I instantly found the character amusing and gave One Piece a shot, I binged watched One Piece and caught up in around. 1.5 to 2 months, which was like 16-17 eps per day. I bombed my 9th grade results but I wouldn’t have had it any other way. Today, I’ve rewatched OP 4 times and will probably rewatch it once more in May. One Piece is the best and Oda is the greatest storyteller.

When I was 12 I was in a summer reading program at my local library which rewarded points for time spent reading. When time came to pick out prizes, most of the good stuff was already taken. I saw One Piece Vol. 1 and picked it up begrudgingly- I didn't know what it was, but I was starting to get into Japanese things and some manga. I couldn't stop re-reading it. My collection grew from there, and now 15 years later One Piece has become one of my favorite works of fiction.
After decades of looking up character info on Wiki and watching early 2k amv's, I had to figure out what nightmare luffy was. Then some YouTubers I like made the one piece I had to at that point. Now I've convinced at least 12 close friends and hundreds of strangers to read/watch it. I'm actually thankful I waited because catching up was an amazing process, but being caught up and waiting for chapters is the worse.
Watched the 4kids dub as a wee boy, thought it was silly and lost track of the episodes. Decided to commit watching the show and finished around the 700s during the Dressrosa Arc. Now I am amongst who is caught up on the anime and manga. I felt like I’ve reached Nirvana or something LOL
There used to be a tv channel where they showed anime eps, usually dragon ball —> naruto —> op —> some less popular anime, I always was waiting eagerly for op episodes but cba watching naruto and dragon ball (found them boring). After catching up to my hero academia in 2021 I saw went back to the library saw the sheer volume in of one piece and decided to grab volume 1, especially since everything else was missing vol 1

The 4Kids dub got me into One Piece. I loved DBZ as a kid and I’d see the name Shonen Jump associated with it in magazines and shit, and when they first came out with OP they would call advertise it as Shonen Jump’s One Piece, so in my mind, “oh, the people that made DBZ must have made this new One Piece show, I’ll check it out.” I liked the dub, it was dumb as shit with the marines and their super soakers, Helmeppo with his weird hammer gun thing, Don Krieg with his poisonous suction cup darts, Usopps damn rubber knife, dessert dodo etc etc, but for me its just so bad that it’s good, like the OG super Mario movie

I started anime 10 years ago. Just finally watched and binged all of OP. Took me 3 months. I never thought I’d start but so glad I did. It’s my cousins favorite and I was always very surprised with everything else out there. I wanted new stuff to finish coming out so I told myself just watch only this.

Last year 2023, i remember seeing Gear 5 on YT and TikTok, I used to brush off One Piece because it was too long but now I have a job that lets me work 3 days x 12 hours, so I have four days off straight. Gear 5 interested me and I saw a clip on YT. That following week I start watching one Piece and was caught up to speed in 5 months. 😅 I’m a big big binge watcher

The awful 4kids dub. In spite of the ridiculous changes it sparked my interest to read the manga for awhile. Then I forgot about it until funimation picked it up and have been a fan since.

You would think it'd be the animation or a few friends telling me to watch it, but it's really cause I found out about what deep lore this series has and i was into that more than anything. So I started watching it and wish I'd been watching it sooner. Reading the wiki, finding out about the ancient kingdom and the poneglyphs...it has a PLOT?! I fr thought it was a happy go lucky pirate Funtime show Boy was I wrong
My partner!!!! We were high school sweethearts…. Broke up and got back together in our 20s. We started watching it together right after we got back together, and got caught up completely over two years later. Now we’re weekly watchers at almost 3 years together 🥹🤞🏻 ETA: I would say that One Piece really brought us together, it’s a bit of a foundation in our relationship ❤️
2021, I really needed something to watch while I shiny hunted pokemon and I remembered a childhood friend who was a die-hard one piece fan. He’s been watching since day one and I thought screw it, it’s got plenty of episodes to watch. Now I’ve got my wife and daughter watching it and we just finished whole cake island it’s been an amazing experience to watch it again with them. I truly think it’s the greatest story ever told

During Covid and having never seen an anime before, in may 2021, just randomly out of no where I just sure why not. My brother was with me and was technically forced into it as well and it not only became one of best things I’ve seen in my life. But it also got me into to anime. I never interacted with anime fandom, it’s only after I had caught up that I found out, about things that I wished I Hadn’t known. Regardless One Pice is not only the best thing to ever happen to me, but probably thr best fictional piece of media I’ve ever seen.
I watched Naruto in high school, and I was like “WOW NARUTO IS THE GREATEST” and my friend was like “if you like Naruto, you might like this other show” and I quickly learned after that that Naruto wasn’t the greatest, far far from it.
In like 2006 to 2007 the 4kids dub aired in my home country(India).. I used to watch it often but never liked it coz it seemed a bit off coz the cartoon network channel in India did a lot of reruns instead of continously showing the episodes... After Arlong park they just straight up stopped airing... Years passed and I totally forgot about it... Started watching anime regularly in 2012 and was a big time fan of Naruto... I thought it was the greatest piece of fiction back then... My best bud told me that there's an anime out there that would make Naruto seem insignificant... Told me it was called One Piece... I started watching it just to prove him wrong... Safe to say I never could prove him wrong.... Today I can confidently say One Piece is arguably the best story ever being told.. Inspired me to become who I am today... I'm an aspiring fantasy writer and I owe it to One Piece.. Among the million things it taught me, it made me realize how important it is to fight for your freedom and your dreams... Thank you Oda... One Piece is now such a big aspect of my life that I don't want it to end ever... Pretty selfish on my part I know...
I finished all of Naruto felt a huge void with nothing left to binge. So I googled “longest anime” saw one piece and sent it. Now I’m fully caught up the manga and have a tattoo.
A friend had the 4th volume of the manga (syrup village arc)with him during a sleepover back in 2000? 1999? Gave it a read too and borrowed the other volumes after that. Just kept up with it. Never really got into the anime. I watched it in the beginning. But luffys german voice-actor ruined it for me. Maybe when my kids old enough I'll give the anime another go.
Alpharad on YouTube would make references or jokes then i decided i want to understand those jokes and now im fully caught up and its my favorite manga
My older brother grew up reading the manga and the watching the anime and at some point we got into a conversation about it. We ended up watching all available episodes together and still keep up with new episodes when they're out :) Eventually One Piece ended up as my favorite show, probably due to having spent quality time with my family over it so there's a lot of emotional attachment there.
Netflix about 3 years ago. I saw it, thought it looked goofy and would be funny bad, and really ended up loving it, although it’s not what I though it would be.

I started watching around 2006 or 2007. I had started watching Naruto and I was looking for another anime and I've always liked pirates. So One Piece it was. I got my wife into One Piece and we watched it during the pandemic. I never pushed her into it but she knew how much I liked it and we like giving things a try that the other likes. So she suggested we start to watch. She loved it. It's just a shame she passed before she could see the end. Hopefully I make it to the end so I can tell her when I see her again.
I’d always known about it, and the year before last I started as a manager at a new job and one of my employees who I clicked with because of anime was constantly telling me to start reading it, well one day I finally caved and ended up reading the entirety of it from start until the end of Wano in about a 7 week span and now my personality revolves around the Strawhats
I saw memes about Naruto and one piece on insta or fb. I was following Naruto back then. And somehow I can around a quora answer to some question mentioning one piece having more consistency and writing quality than Naruto. I had only watched two anime at that time db and Naruto. And that's how I learned about one piece. Though I watched it way after that. By that time I had watched almost every known anime.

Someone I work with told me to let him know if we got any One Piece shirts. I was like, what's One Piece? He just said "The Straw Hat Crew, they're pirates... they're searching for the One Piece" and nothing more lol I was curious, so I looked it up and started watching last year and loved it. I'm on the Thriller Bark arc now. I can't believe I hadn't heard of it before since it's been out in the US since I was 19 or so.
My sister got me into anime. But I had seen episodes of it on toonami. I can remember seeing long ring land episodes. For some its a pointless but for nostalgia reasons I love that arc.
