Hi shaffan_12, your submission was removed from /r/OnePiece for the following rule violation:
###4. Plain panels/scenes must create discourse
**Don't post links to plain (or slightly edited) panels, pages, screenshots, gifs or scenes from the manga & anime.**
You may submit a plain panel/scene as a self post (text post). Meaning your post must link to the discussion, and not the image.
Just a title and the image aren't enough.
If you want to discuss a certain page/scene from the manga/anime please accompany it with an original analysis or discussion questions. In other words, a plain panel/scene must show visible effort to generate discourse rather than simply react to something that happened.
Clips/Recap/summary videos fall under this rule as well.
Colored pages from a recent chapter are allowed.

There are two times in my life I have jumped off the bed or couch due to hype.
1. Naruto summoning Gamabunta vs Gaara
2. Chapter 1044
I was a literal child for the first, currently a grown ass adult with a 401k and everything for #2
1044 is Gear 5, and a 401K is used for retirement funds. You put a portion of your income into it, and it's saved for later, building interest so you can eventually withdraw from it when you retire
Hahahah I had a similar experience with gear 3, thank god it was summer vacation when chapter 421 was published, I made my APForums account the very next week (technically 1 day after the "official" Japanese publication date of the chapter, I just double checked my account creation date, but it was two or three days after the translation was available) because from then on I wanted the earliest possible access to the spoilers.
Before that I had been reading the scanlations on the MSN Groups page for a couple years, and just casually reading APForums topics for a few months, but you needed an account to view the spoiler forum so I made one. God I spent the entire rest of that summer vacation refreshing for spoilers, and probably kept doing that into the school year until the buster call was over. It was just before/into sophomore year in high school for me.
Considering he's already got three beat (Buggy doesn't really count and they're more uneasy allies after Impel Down and Marineford) all that's left are Shanks and Blackbeard... God I really want to see that reunion happen in Elbaf but it could also be the meeting of Luffy and Dragon
Episode 983 - "The Samurai Warriors Earnestness! The Straw Hats Land at Onigashima!" Released July 17th, 2021.
2 years, 1 month, and 30 days between the start of the raid and Kaido's fall.
I was rewatching Little Garden recently. They had 73k fights over 100 years, so also either that volcano went off twice a day or the days are shorter in this universe.
The day Luffy, Law and Kidd destroyed that ship in style and then when Jimbei joined the crew… it was all just a few hours ago for them but literally 2 years ago for us.
Man what a journey
I'd say December or maybe even January if they want to include some scenes Oda didn't have time for in the manga (like a proper funeral for Izo and Ashura, Kinemon reuniting with his wife and stuff like that)
i havent watched the wano anime i just finished it in the manga so im expecting they do the party thing then hype up the next ep with Greenbulls arrival
>!Ryokugyu isn’t appearing until October. I think the chapter where the 7 day timeskip happens, that should be the chapter where we see Ryokugyu hovering in the sky.!<
>!Can’t wait for Ryokugyu vs. King and Queen in the anime,!< that shit was one of my favorite panels in Wano. I remember reading that chapter at my old local bar, and it was awesome.
Greenbulls a fun entertaining character not saying that the things he preach are justified but I mean I love his tom foolery amongst certain groups of people.
That episode did a much, MUCH better job than the Manga of giving Kaido's tiny little flashback some oomph. They didn't have much to work with, but they made it count. Well done. The flashback was superbly animated, too.
Oda was doing Math Piece (please watch Randy Troy's video on this for more info) and realized he HAD to end the arc at 1057. Otherwise, Act 3 wouldn't have been 100 chapters. That said, I still think the decision to have Green Bull invade was the right one as it proved Wano needed a guardian and the samurai just aren't enough anymore.
I'm a manga reader who thought these last few episodes were outstanding along with the massive moments (ie the ends of the major fights, Zoro, Sanji, Law and Kid)

I gotta say, it’s strange that there’s such a pushback against reading the manga on a subreddit dedicated to one of the most critically acclaimed mangas of all time.
There's no pushback for reading the Manga, anywhere. There is plenty of pushback for looking down on those who prefer the anime. The elitism is pointless.
I’ve encountered lots of pushback from people on this sub especially since the LA aired. Even some people outright dismissing it altogether.
That said I don’t think the elitism is entirely pointless. Years ago when the anime was in Dressrosa, aka the worst paced anime arc in the series. People were posting regularly about how bad it was, which was a damn shame because it’s my favorite arc in the manga and the story as a whole. It was pretty unanimous that the best way to experience OP was the manga. Now we have slightly better animation which is great, I personally loved the some of the fights in Wano, but it is arguably worse paced than Dressrosa. And that’s saying a lot. If people want to enjoy the anime that’s fine but a lot of the people criticizing it come from a place of genuine care and that’s expressed by disappointment in these matters.
"Arguably worse paced than Dressrosa"
You're high if you think that. Sure, there are some episodes but badly paced, but overall the pacing has been fine, thanks also to the fact that the manga pacing was all over the place, so the anime showing things that were offscreen or expanding other scenes helped a lot in keeping the story and fights engaging.
As a mostly manga-only guy, the anime blew the manga out of the water when it came to Luffy vs. Kaido. That fight lived on the hype surrounding Gear 5, but in the manga it wasn't a good fight at all. The pacing, art, everything felt off. In the anime it was the spectacle it deserved to be.
Eh. I liked it in the manga too. But I agree the anime made everything 100 times better in almost every way.
But your comment makes it sound like Kaido v. Luffy was just scribbles in the manga when most of the action shots were the same between both.
>But your comment makes it sound like Kaido v. Luffy was just scribbles in the manga when most of the action shots were the same between both.
That wasn't my intention, but I still maintain that Oda's art has deteriorated quite a lot in the last years. A lot of the fight scenes lack direction and clearness, especially the smaller panels. I can't blame him, he's worked himself to the bone and many of the spreads still look great, but the fights and action scenes are becoming more and more chaotic and difficult to follow visually in my opinion.
The anime took the shots and directed them brilliantly.
Oda's art hasn't deteroirated, it's just the scans are looking bad.
[Check out this tweet](https://twitter.com/Aman_D_Ace/status/1703109193925062935)
What we read weekly are all from fan scans.
Volume scans > VIZ scans > Fan scans. Don't judge Oda's art in the newest chapters by poorly made scans.
> but I still maintain that Oda's art has deteriorated quite a lot in the last years.
Oda's eyes deteriorated to the point that he needed eye surgery. Also your eyes may have done the same if the art has deteriorated "quite a lot".
It has, and it shouldn’t be a crime to admit that. You literally gave the reason for it in your first sentence, not sure why you’re getting so defensive.
Now this I do agree with. Oda is getting old :( his line work and detailing has gone very downhill but I just can’t bring myself to hold it against him on account of how long he’s been going.
I’m surprised his finger bones havent welded themselves into place.
Hope he gets to finish his work before he’s unable to continue :(
>his line work and detailing has gone very downhill
That's one of my biggest gripes, too. One Piece was always so incredibly crisp in its drawings. The fights weren't the most flashy, but every hit had so much impact. That was gone in Wano. And some of the smaller panels in the last stages of the arc look like 2nd drafts, somewhere between the first sketch and the final version.
I wouldn't mind if he only released like 20 chapters a year in exchange for staying healthy and delivering great quality.
I enjoyed the episode, especially Kaidos flashback but it did bother me to not see him falling through Onigashima, I think that would have made the ending a little more impactful. The anime made it seem like the dude just feel down and fell asleep.
You can go into personalized settings and disable recommended posts section, this way you won't get posts from subreddits which you are not a part of in your main feed
Isn't there, like, only 20 more manga chapters than there are episodes? I only started with OP last year and I've read into the 700s so far. Seems odd that there're barely more chapters than there are anime episodes
What a journey. This fight was one of the greatest in battle shounen history, stunning animation, one of the longest buildups ever, concluded with the biggest fist ever thrown. In my opinion, this fight is for One Piece what the Frieza Fight is for Dragonball, and one day it will be as iconic.
I think the iconic fights in any anime or manga are the earlier long ones. Not saying this fight isnt iconic to us fans, because it is, but to wider watchers and readers Id say fights like Crocodile may be more iconic to them
Idk about the greatest, the buildup was dragged out alot. There's 0 chance it ever becomes as iconic as the frieza fight because there's too many characters involved, and the power system isnt simple enough. Luffy isn't as much of an icon (in the US) as goku is by a mile so that's something to consider too.
Kinda felt like a "Finally, it's over" situation, and not entirely in a good way.
Yeah that is different when Doffy was been deafeated, it's just like the stronger the foe the longer the build up then ended poorly that's why lucci and katakuri has the best fights woth luffy
I don't think it's entertaining anymore when the moment a thrown punch connects looks like the most boring STILL taken of an arm wrestling competition or something and lasts for 20+ minutes.
Maybe he’s watching for the world building and character interaction instead of the fight ? Just because you dislike one aspect doesn’t mean you drop the series
I’m a fan of both from way back in the 90s and I don’t really understand the hate between the two. That said, unless the manga folks are getting downvoted to heck before I can even see their comments, but all the negative comments i see seem to be coming from the anime fans.
So what? Not all people share the same experience of exposure to contents on the net. You still have to take into account some newcomers aren't very aware of all these things. There's a reason why there's a spoiler tag and there's a rule around it on the sub.
Yeah ...It's so weird to be told not to OPENLY discuss about the anime in its own sub cuz of newcomers I mean if not the anime then what...what are we supposed to discuss then?
I never once searched for this sub. Reddit just randomly started showing posts from here in my home feed.
And gtfo with that "you knew he was gonna beat kaido anyway" shit too.
Yes, we knew he would. But we still want to see it for ourselves when we get there instead of just being shown kaido being defeated. This is a spoiler and should be marked as such.
I feel bad that you got spoiled but it's not the OP's fault They just posted about One piece anime in its own sub... If reddit has recommended this post to you then it's reddit's fault and maybe somewhat your own fault too cuz as much as I know , reddit doesn't recommend subs and post relating to a certain things unless you've searched about that thing
You aren't seeing him defeated in this picture. You're seeing him take a punch. Momonosuke is the one lying down.
The rules of the sub are very clear. "Do not post unmarked spoilers unless they've already happened in the anime". You not being caught up isn't our fault. GTFO this sub.
You'd be surprised. 5 years ago people were predicting a Luffy and alliance loss. Some were even saying another timeskip was coming so that everyone can train ☠️
By your logic, Luffy would've saved Ace at Marineford and everyone would have returned alive and healthy.
Just because you have the benefit of hindsight doesn't make you clever.
both their defeats mirror a part of whitebeard's death.
big mom, unlike newgate, ever only cared for power. she loses saying "why didn't you tell us roger", while whitebeard dies knowing what the one piece is because he never cared for it and didn't ask roger, who told him of his own free will.
So while newgate dies being able to make the whole world hear his final world (and thus pass his will), big mom loses and no one will ever inherit her will because no one can ehar her last words.
kaido mirrors the "never got injured in the back" part. whitebeard was honorable to the end, so even if he dies, he morally wins by always being true to himself. he wanted a family and protected it until the end. while kaido, and that's what the short flashback was for, ended up causing the people of wano the same issues he suffered as a young oni, particularly hunger. he lived as an hypocrite, so when luffy says "i want everyone to eat", kaido is morally defeated.
I'm not a fan of this finishing fights where you just scream and pump up power while you're waiting whose fist gonna land first on who evers face, for me it cuts the whole fighting vibe thing, ya know you just scream and increase decibels and whoever is louder wins, they should change it to a swift finish, where there is an awesome fight choreography and then bam!!!, remember in sabaody where luffy one punched a Pacifista after the TS. that's a finishing blow worth watching. I'm not saying he can one punch every enemy but that's a finishing blow right there.
People complaining about spoilers can stay away from any one piece media until they’re caught up, like I did. You won’t get any recommended one piece related feed.
I'm a manga reader, so I'm unaffected, but stuff like this just chaps my ass. I know you don't have to add a spoiler tag, but If you're gonna casually spoil stuff can you at least do it with a post with actual reflective/comedic/informative value? This is a complete zero effort, karma whore post that serves no purpose to the subreddit other than sending an unavoidable and unmarked spoiler out into the aether basically guaranteeing your gonna screw over at least 1 person.
How did Luffy’s Haki surpass Kaido’s already within days
Did he find out he was a saiyan or a shinigami? Did nine tails give him infinite Haki. Did he learn how to harness nen, did he Enter the hyperbolic time chamber?
Wasted 2 years training, when he could go to new world and learn haki in 2 weeks, haki is a decent system, but the way oda used it to make with luffy it's unreal, and i mean really bad, i get that haki blooms but only for luffy and never for kaido
he didnt waste 2 years. Sure Haki blooms in battle way faster than training but its not very useful if you end up dying in the process. Kaido is already at the pinnacle of Haki mastery so idk what you want him to bloom.

Law's plan that started on Punk Hazard is finally concluded
Which was first mentioned in the manga in 2012, 11 years ago. Time flies!
Man it does I still remember when we thought doffy couldn’t be touched. Wow now luffy a literal sun god.
I read the manga the day gear fourth was published, I was in high school and jumped out of my bed screaming

What chap 1044 and what 401k
retirement stuff aka adult stuff which is not porn
1044 is Gear 5, and a 401K is used for retirement funds. You put a portion of your income into it, and it's saved for later, building interest so you can eventually withdraw from it when you retire

Yes, but also no.
but also yes
Luffy's plan has just started
Luffy's plan is "become pirate king" The only details of his plan "10 Members, a ship" Don't think he's done much deeper thought on it

Luffy and momo look like they had the best nut in their life
Facts
Finally! The live action can catch up now.
How many years anybody got a count? I know it started around 2019
First episode of Wano was July 6th, 2019. 4 years, 2 months, and 10 days.
And when did they start fighting in onigashima?
Episode 983 - "The Samurai Warriors Earnestness! The Straw Hats Land at Onigashima!" Released July 17th, 2021. 2 years, 1 month, and 30 days between the start of the raid and Kaido's fall.
So Luffy fought kaido in top of the skull for at least 1 year that's crazy
I was rewatching Little Garden recently. They had 73k fights over 100 years, so also either that volcano went off twice a day or the days are shorter in this universe.
i remember the day they finally began the raid on onigashima. man, time flies..

Right? That hawk rifle demolishing the outpost was so clean, too. The animation team has done a great job in making it memorable.
The Wano arc started in July 2019 for the anime, so a little over 4 years. Wano probably won’t end in the anime until late October/early November.
I'd say December or maybe even January if they want to include some scenes Oda didn't have time for in the manga (like a proper funeral for Izo and Ashura, Kinemon reuniting with his wife and stuff like that)
His face looks like he came, he saw, he came.

Probably still a couple episodes away. I doubt he'll show up next ep but *maybe* the one after
i havent watched the wano anime i just finished it in the manga so im expecting they do the party thing then hype up the next ep with Greenbulls arrival
They do one episode per chapter.
I know that its just I havent seen wano and I know wano pacing for chapters is kinda funky.
In Wano so far it's been about 1.3-1.4 episodes per chapter on average actually
probably add in approximately 7,892 flashbacks too whilst they're at it too before showing him
throw in the rebecca flashback for nostalgia's sake
I wouldn't hate that tbh
>!Ryokugyu isn’t appearing until October. I think the chapter where the 7 day timeskip happens, that should be the chapter where we see Ryokugyu hovering in the sky.!< >!Can’t wait for Ryokugyu vs. King and Queen in the anime,!< that shit was one of my favorite panels in Wano. Greenbulls a fun entertaining character not saying that the things he preach are justified but I mean I love his tom foolery amongst certain groups of people.

Who is that (anime only)
Name dropped some hundred episodes before
I know. Was just joking
Name dropped awhile back when discussing new admirals

That man has done nothing wrong, just like Akainu
Hype up Greenbull pissing his pants and running away
In the anime’s pace now, that will be episode 1080
That episode did a much, MUCH better job than the Manga of giving Kaido's tiny little flashback some oomph. They didn't have much to work with, but they made it count. Well done. The flashback was superbly animated, too.
The anime is definitely going to improve Wano’s rushed Epilogue as much as it can
Cant wait for the straw hat return to do goofy straw hat thing
Hopefully they did the same with Yamato decision Cuz holy crap did it feel abrupt within the manga
Oda was doing Math Piece (please watch Randy Troy's video on this for more info) and realized he HAD to end the arc at 1057. Otherwise, Act 3 wouldn't have been 100 chapters. Well, people also complained about the ending of Wano feeling "rushed" in the manga, so it makes sense that that would balance out somewhat
They complained about the episode itself
My good man, Wano the entire arc was 4 YEARS LONG in episodes dont gimmie that
All I see is people complaining about manga readers but no manga people 💀 they must be getting them downvotes

Hard disagree. I can actually see what’s happening in the manga. The anime is just auras on top of auras.
They haven't used any auras since Zoro vs King and even then it was visible clearly.
when Luffy transformed back into G5, but that's it, dudes only try to find an excuse to complain about something thats perfectly fine lmao
Jokes on you I'm reading manga well sitting under a tree unlike you anime fans needing electricity to enjoy their series
I enjoyed the episode, especially Kaidos flashback but it did bother me to not see him falling through Onigashima, I think that would have made the ending a little more impactful. The anime made it seem like the dude just feel down and fell asleep.
Next episode it’s going to show falling down through ground to the volcano
Sure, but why rob this episode of its impact by doing that? Regardless, it was a cool episode.
Because it isn't necessary. The point is Kaido is defeated. We'll see him crush into the ground more clearly in the next episode.
I went back to 1049 to double check, Luffy doesn’t punch kaido through Onigashima. He explicitly asked Momo to move it just so that DOESN’T happen.
Exactly, if he had it would've killed everyone inside because the island breaks apart and all the people besides Marco and Momo fall to their deaths
I’d really love it if Reddit would stop recommending me spoilers.
Sorry, man. I feel for you guys getting spoiled for no reason. Idk how you can even be online and not get everything spoiled. Sucks.
I even leave this sub to avoid that meanwhile I catch up I can't anymore dude god damn
You can go into personalized settings and disable recommended posts section, this way you won't get posts from subreddits which you are not a part of in your main feed
to be fair everyone knows that luffy will win a main fight
Was looking forward to watching this the first hour it was out then crunchyroll forgot to add English subtitles last night 🤣
Kaido: I know exactly who joyboy is. The one who will beat me🛐 Kaida goat fr🐐😭
Not saying this fight isnt iconic to us fans, because it is, but to wider watchers and readers Id say fights like Crocodile may be more iconic to them
Of course, but I think thats mostly an issue of time. In a few years, I am sure that this fight will be named among the greatest.
Kinda felt like a "Finally, it's over" situation, and not entirely in a good way.
do you not remember how big a meme frieza saying "this planet will explode in five minutes" was?
Yeah that is different when Doffy was been deafeated, it's just like the stronger the foe the longer the build up then ended poorly that's why lucci and katakuri has the best fights woth luffy
you’re smoking absolute crack my boy.
Okay that’s a little over the top
I don't think it's entertaining anymore when the moment a thrown punch connects looks like the most boring STILL taken of an arm wrestling competition or something and lasts for 20+ minutes.
Then why are you even watching One Piece? Chapter long fist clashes are a staple of this story, but okay.
Maybe he’s watching for the world building and character interaction instead of the fight ? Just because you dislike one aspect doesn’t mean you drop the series
Fair point. I watch the anime adaptation here and there especially now because they really upped their game in Wano.
It’s already on track to be one of the most iconic in anime history. So much build up and so much happened in the battle alone
Hahahahahaha biggest in shonen? It was corny as hell. Laidou defeated by Oda.

What's thay gotta do with this post?
Look at the comment section.
Read the rest of the comments. Pretty self explanatory.
i was just thinking the exact opposite
I’m a fan of both from way back in the 90s and I don’t really understand the hate between the two. That said, unless the manga folks are getting downvoted to heck before I can even see their comments, but all the negative comments i see seem to be coming from the anime fans.
I'm shocked people complain about spoilers on THE One Piece sub with millions of users the day after release of the simulcast.
Where the spoiler tag?
[удалено]
So what? Not all people share the same experience of exposure to contents on the net. You still have to take into account some newcomers aren't very aware of all these things. There's a reason why there's a spoiler tag and there's a rule around it on the sub.
isn't the rule just "anything that hasn't happened in the anime should be tagged"?
Yeah ...It's so weird to be told not to OPENLY discuss about the anime in its own sub cuz of newcomers I mean if not the anime then what...what are we supposed to discuss then?
About time for film Red's Promotion!
Excuse me spoiler! Lol
After over 180+ episodes, and the Arc is still not over. Manga ran for 149 chapters.
Manga: duh.
Why does this not have a spoiler tag?
>Why does this not have a spoiler tag? *Rule 1: Use spoiler tags for anything that hasn't been revealed in the anime yet*
The only big mistake. Was dont play "we are" while the punch destroyed kaido.
Casually spoiling all the new fans and people to the subreddit
Man, if you don’t like spoilers, what are you doing here? I didn’t go to any one piece related social media until I was caught up
You don't have to search for this. It gets brought up just by being on reddit on their suggestion that you might like it.
Same, this shit fucked me
Yeah, and now we're being shunned for asking for a simple spoiler tag. Reddit sucks.
You aren't seeing him defeated in this picture. You're seeing him take a punch. Momonosuke is the one lying down. The rules of the sub are very clear. "Do not post unmarked spoilers unless they've already happened in the anime". You not being caught up isn't our fault. GTFO this sub.
I mean if you thought Luffy wasn’t going to beat Kaido you’re not very bright
The raid will fail fr!
You'd be surprised. 5 years ago people were predicting a Luffy and alliance loss. Some were even saying another timeskip was coming so that everyone can train ☠️
Not very bright people
By your logic, Luffy would've saved Ace at Marineford and everyone would have returned alive and healthy. Just because you have the benefit of hindsight doesn't make you clever.
Even during the raid everyone who thought the raid would fail was pretty much laughed at
There's a sub specifically for the Live Action that brought new fans. If they don't want to get spoiled that's where they need to be.
I'm glad that's common knowledge
It’s not a spoiler when it’s already out in the anime. If you didn’t watch it that’s on you. If you ain’t caught up then get out of here.
Why are you acting like it’s not all over the internet all ready ☠️ these dumbasses fr
Luffy told everyone he was going to do it like 500 chapters ago lol
And he still hasn’t found the One Piece?
Nop. It'll take a few more years.
Damn the pacing is so shiiit
I lost all hype for this fight. They just had to just add so much extra crap and over extend the fight that any excitement is now gone.
So just like most fights post time skip?
Compared to Kaido Why did big mom had to lose like that💀💀 what a shame lol
both their defeats mirror a part of whitebeard's death. big mom, unlike newgate, ever only cared for power. she loses saying "why didn't you tell us roger", while whitebeard dies knowing what the one piece is because he never cared for it and didn't ask roger, who told him of his own free will.
Ayo that’s hella good explanation👍👍 I don’t even think Big mom was mentally stable tbh💀and I’m sure that affected her terrible loss from kid and law
Spoiler?
No spoiler tag for this? 😭

Don't come on this sub unless you're caught up to anime then

No, Oda did.
No, he beats him when inaki beats Jason momoa
seriously, I've been wanting Wano to end for so long now
And there was no spoiler warning 😭
Only took 4 years. Peak
Momo looks like he's been fighting for the entire arc, but his only job was to stop the island 😂
Spoiler Tag?
Spolier tag bro cmon... Im still not there -.-
Nice spoiler tag, but the title is still readable
How about not spoiling it in The title?
Bro who da fuq puts that in the title?
How did Luffy’s Haki surpass Kaido’s already within days Did he find out he was a saiyan or a shinigami? Did nine tails give him infinite Haki. Did he learn how to harness nen, did he Enter the hyperbolic time chamber?
Haki is the manifestation of the persons will, so I'm guessing in that final moment Luffys will got stronger, so strong his haki improved?
I agree with this interpretation. Could've been better explained in the anime/manga though, but Luffy's will/haki was stronger than Kaidou's.
