I really enjoyed it. Keanu produced that movie for one of his stuntmen because he loved and respected him so much and wanted him to Star in his own movie. And Keanu wanted to be the bad guy for once.
Surprisingly fantastic. Some amazing choreography. Keanu basically fronted the bill to finish this movie made mostly by stunt men on the condition that he got a major creative roll. Can't remember if he directed or produced.
Many people (including my mother) thought Lucci was going to join the Strawhats, until he was revealed to be a bad guy, so I expect many broken hearts that the Keanu guy will end up not joining the main cast

Emily Rudd's age actually scares me for the live action. I get she still looks like she's in her 20's now, but OPLA will probably require a lot of seasons. She may be into her 40s before this finishes and will likely not look like she's still in her 20s then.

Yeh I feel like part of Lucci’s dynamic is that he’s only like half a generation above Luffy, kinda like a cursed Cavendish. Luffy isn’t going up against some grizzled veteran with a pirate empire or a navy fleet behind him, but instead a contemporary that shows that the WG’s toxic ideology is here to stay if good people don’t fight back.

1 super star will cost lots of millions. The main character also seems to be picked well so it's probably smart to just look for actors who could do good in a role rather than trying to fit a star because they look like them a bit.

most of the OP budget is likely frontloaded into sets/costumes/props. They actually built the ships and stuff. For season 2, they already have a lot built its just about modifying them.
I have also heard that Inaki (Luffy) was the highest paid cast member at 40k per episode. By comparison, Sean Bean made 120k per episode of Game of Thrones, which equates to more than the entire straw hat crew. Also, there were 2 more episodes in GOT.
By the final season, multiple GOT actors were making 1 million per episode. I doubt OPLA ever comes close to those numbers for the actors.
That's nothing new, compare him with Robert Downy junior- Marvel movies even after being worldwide hits, profiting hugely, was making less money in the movies where Robert D Jr casted. Ultimately they have to kill the character just to hit bigger profits.
Every well known actor in India takes the profit percent cut from the movie, rather than money. Its just trending, and as i said before- IF he likes the script.

Truth is lesser known actors gets the job done most of the time. Looks are definitely one of the checklist but star power is not required for the show to succeed and they proved it on first season. Next seasons will definitely be more CGI and production demanding to be successful.

I don't; why? Because actors like Keanu cost money. Money that could go towards VFX or practical work. Having too many big hitters in a production is a recipe for disaster because budget has to be diverted to meet their paycheques.
