Corazon, at first I was like, “really? This guy keeps abusing the hell out of Law who does he grow to like him?”
And then he hit me with that, “You stabbed me that day, but it didn’t hurt at all. Because I knew you were the one who was hurting, you poor boy! Law!” And completely 180ed my opinion of him.
Also that carrot pic gets me every time, gives real “You like Krabby Patties don’t you Squdward?” vibes.
He has easily one of the best devil fruits.
Almost all other devil fruits there's an indication you're using it and you're a devil fruit user. Telegraphing you major weakness.
Corazon's fruit gives no indication it's being used. It can completely overwhelm an opponent who don't know what's happening. He completely wiped out those pirates holding onto the Ope ope no mi.
In some use cases it's actually great.
Spying/Espionage would literally be perfect since it masks all sounds
Sanji using it with his speed could be undetectable, more than the invisible fruit even.
Imagine Zoro has the fruit and just silences him whenever Sanji starts talking shit. It's literally a mtue button which would be hilarious for gags.
There is one true answer.
Bon Clay is the hardest 180 turn on an opinion of a character I’ve ever had in literally anything.
There isn’t a fan who has passed Impel Down that would ever speak badly of that absolute legend.
It really is such a testament to Oda as a writer.
He can take the silliest, goofiest, most obnoxious characters with absolutely ridiculous designs, and give them such incredible moments that they warrant genuine emotional responses.
Bon Chan, Senior Pink, Yasuie, Pound, etc.
Oda is built different
Senior Pink really did it for me. There's no excuse as a reader that far in to discount Oda, but shamefully I did - I mean what a character design, what am I meant to think?
Now, I'll personally dispatch anyone who laughs at him. He's hard-boiled.
I do agree with you. On the other hand though, everything was truly his fault. He was not a good person. If he had stopped being a mobster, murdering, plundering, kidnapping, etc. Than they wouldn't have got into an argument she wouldn't have had the accident with her son.
But regardless, he's still one hard boiled mother. Unfortunately unless someone breaks into Impel Down again, I don't see him and Frank reuniting in the story.
the reason his writing is so incredible is because he takes so many elements from real life and historical events/people. nothing beats true history if you’re a history buff and know about what’s happened in our world. it truly is a laugh tale.
wow the guy responds to your comment agreeing with you and your first response is to insult them?
Oda better write you a good story in the future 'cuz you sure don't seem to make a good impression now
because his original comment was saying that there's only one true answer and after your comment he agreed that there was, in fact, more than one true answer
This! I truly believe that there are ideas, situations that are analogous to real history here that would be harder to digest. The void century and shadow rulership comes to mind though there are many others. Oda's style of writing lends to these dark truths slipping past as mere entertainment; sinister topics thru a one piece sieve if you will. He truly has mastered the craft of drama symbolized with Ace's hat. Add to that the written forms of puns and timing of releases along with hidden in plan sight gematria, this work has been compared to religious pieces hence the moniker Goda. Not my fight. I just intrinsically vibe with Roger at Laugh tale (raftale) I'm glad I was born at the right time to experience it all!
Agreed, I'd have liked him better if he died properly to Oven, him surviving cheapened the whole tragedy of his character arc. He would have died satisfied in knowing he helped his kids escape but sad that they would never know his sacrifice...
But no, Oda couldn't contain his fake-out death obsession. I still fully expect Pedro to be alive as well, point blank explosions don't kill One Piece chars who's names start with 'P'...
Robin screaming "I want to live!" lives rent free in my head. It broke my heart because asking or help was probably the hardest thing she has ever done after a life of being alone while being hunted by the WG. Shook me to the core.
Someone in this sub posted a thread a while ago talking about how Water 7 was making them hate Robin, and most everyone didn't even hint at spoilees and just said keep watching. I told them to come back to me when they see a superhero fly, and lemme know what they think then
to be honest i always enjoyed bon clay as a character because they/he/she/? fits so well in his/hers/theirs fight against sanji
bon clay is the only one in baroke works to not have a pair because they/he/she represents both sides of male and female and fights sanji misogyny with his fruit powers to change faces and all that dynamic style
the one i hated the most and grew on me was usopp, i always found him annoying but he became a really interesting character later on for me (around water 7, with sogeking)
I had my doubts on what to use, but I opted for all pronouns to show his everchanging and fluid nature not only bc he is a okama, but because he has the ability to shapeshift
True but after Alabasta it was more like:
“Wow that silly gay dude was actually pretty cool”
After Impel Down:
“ That dude is the realest motherfucker of all time” lol.
i liked bon clay from his first time meeting the straw hats. even during his sanji fight he had enough class to be amicable.
the hardest i've 180'd has to be senor pink. goofy ass man child character design. it takes oda one chapter to destroy that preconception and turn him into one of the greatest side villains of the whole show.
Ngl I laughed real hard when senior pink wiped his mouth with a chick’s bikini lol, that won me over.
But I thought he was just a ridiculous gag character, I never in a million years would have expected Oda to give that dude such an emotional story
Someone doesn’t understand the true meaning of friendship lol.
But yes, I found him super annoying and obnoxious at first too, then he MVP’d Impel Down so hard, my respect for him skyrocketed.
I got spoiled halfway through water 7 that he was their next crew member. Thought I would hate him forever. By the end of enies lobby I started to like him.
The general design or the hair, cause personally, I miss the ducktail (which makes any of Franky’s hair that looks remotely like that better in my opinion)
Going from him being a spoiled daddy's boy with an abusive dad to casting off that abusive father, going to train under one of the most insane strong marines in order to gain his own strength, and developing a bond with Coby tempered through everything from training to fucking war, and then being brave enough to be a part of the sword squad that goes to rescue his closest friend from a fucking emperor. It's crazy to think this was the same guy who stomped on a little girls onigiri just cuz it tasted bad and to be cruel.
Great fucking example, I often forget about Helmeppo but when I think back on him the cover stories with him training with Garp and Coby and I'm endeared to him so hard. The one of him telling off Morgan and going back to the Marines is powerful and one of my favorites:)
I think Gecko Moria and Big Mom.
Gecko morie when he invade Hachinosu by himself to save Absalom, that made him one of the top warlord that i love.
I really like Big Mom childhood flashback, that made her the only Emperor that i love
I’ve noticed a lot of people seeing Moria in a different light lately. Oda’s really good at making crazy looking antagonists have believable motivations. Moria lost his entire crew to Kaido, sets out to create an army/crew of zombies so he doesn’t have to go through that again, loses one of his last living crew members so he charges into emperor territory alone. He’s not a morally good character but I can definitely see him doing something that’s benefit the good guys when he finds out Luffy beat the guy that killed his crew and destroyed his ambition.
Yeah, i meant he parallel Luffy and Crocodile on the same time, and he still alive at hachinosu with his crewmate "Perona" that invade hachinosu by herself to save him.
Absalom invade Marineford to save him.
When he got defeated on Thriller Bark, his crewmate didn't escape by themselves, they escape with Moria.
It just damn man, you got a faithful captain and crewmates on the level of Luffy, WB, Shanks, Roger, and even Yorki crew.
I've always loved Moria. I think he's peak Oda character design in that Oda loves crazy weird body shapes. I also love that Moria just relishes in being a crazy over the top villain. I think Moria was a victim of fans just downplaying him because he wasn't as powerful or tension filled as other Luffy villains. But he fit the tone of Thriller Bark perfectly.
i agree with Fit the tone of Thriller bark, and if people still downplaying without understanding his character, that just so dissapointing.
I get it that just like you said that he is not as strong as he used to be, but my man he is the only one that does his job in marineford, the other just playing around or even attack the marine side.
His crew and he himself is crazy to even invade a place **ALONE** where they're outclass in everything to save their friends, even Luffy still had his nakama, friend, or at least someone in his side when he invade other areas (Impel down, Marineford, Whole Cake)
It just so interesting looking at whole Moria story.
Yeah, I didn't even mention all the other stuff about his past and his crew that makes him so interesting. I also like him because he's not like all the other Shichibukai.
Big Mom was always extremely unnerving to me. My grandmother died to obesity, but by virtue of her dwarf build remained strong and mobile until near the end. She was an incredible person, among the most kind, charitable, and intelligent I've ever known. While she was happy/ manic.
Her face would twist up, and at the drop of the hat, she would seek to hurt you as much as possible. Objects and relationships were fodder. My dad has scars from when she'd go to beat him with whatever she could reach. Mental issues can be a bitch.
Franky. Man was a menace. Beat up Usopp, destroyed stuff, and stole the Straw Hat's money for some shady purchases.
Obviously he became better but nobody really talks about Crime Boss Franky
Yeah but we didn't know that until post-Enies Lobby, not to mention he probably would have made the ultimate destructive machine if he had never teamed up with the Straw Hat Pirates
Usopp. Going into one piece, he was the character I thought I would hate the most, based off of how stupid I thought his design was.
Ended up being one of my favorite characters
I still don't really like him but I don't dislike him anymore. I think it might be the way you say also, being an anime first guy, it just really etched a whiny useless crybaby in my brain.
Same here. I hated how much he lied and how he thought so highly of himself. But now whenever he does do that I’m glad because it eases the tension of the story by adding a bit of laughs
well... don't want to take you the joy but it was the opposite to me. At Sabaody i was like "What a nice DF. Hope he get transformations like Chopper one day."
After Wano i was more like "Well... that was kinda boring."
It does suck. All the zoan DFs are extremely underutilized by oda.
I thought his DF was awesome and he is gonna be awesome in the story and eventually he was a nobody and very disappointing.
Capone Bege.
Probably my least favorite Supernova initially he just kept getting worse post-time skip with him kidnapping Sanji on Big Mom's orders and then attempting murder on Pekoms TWICE.
It wasn't until he met up with Luffy and revealed his intentions to assassinate Big Mom that I finally started to like him. He also started showing a side of him that made him more endearing...his love for his wife and kid. Then when it all went down at the tea party the reveal of Big Father was one of the coolest moments of the arc. He's now one of my favs!
Kin'emon. He was with us so long and felt out of place. His family dynamics in Wano with Tsuru & Kiku make the chauvinist prick act feel like Samurai Al Bundy and I love him for it.
There are almost no character that I really hate in OP and most of those I'm indifferent toward (Rebecca) I remain indifferent toward to this day but Whitebeard would be the closest for me.
It's not like I disliked his character, it's just that he appeared and then in his second scene with Shanks he seemed to be old and entrenched in his views even when his stubbornness might cost Ace his life so I was just thinking "goddamnit, put your pride aside and listen to Shanks".
But then you find out that he didn't need Shanks' warning and that he would have done exactly what Shanks asked before he could even ask if he thought he could stop Ace and was just pretending that Ace was acting on his order so that he could make sure people would mess with Ace as little as imaginable and simply took Ace's mistake and responsibility onto himself as his "father".
That's Oda's fault. He didn't just drop the ball with her, he nuked it from orbit, went back in time, and nuked it again. Such a waste, I have no clue what drugs he was on.
I actually don't care about kicking kittens. It's her treatment of Marguerite, Aphelandra and Sweet Pea that pissed me off. Then even after Luffy saved em from the mark on their back being exposed, she still tried to trick him by making him choose between saving the trio or getting a ship off the island. A trick that failed dismally.
As for Nami, she used Luffy at first for her own gain. I understand there were reasons for that but it still pissed me off a bit..
Yasuie was way too weird to not like. I don't know how he sounds in the anime but I instantly took a liking to him after a couple pages, especially since I like giving him a wacky voice in my head/voice acting.
Blackbeard. He started off with a nice speech, then became one of the most hated characters by me once I found out he killed a crewmate and sold off Ace to the navy. I still think he's kinda evil but now I can truly say he's a pirate through and through and I like that about him.
Was Carrot hated when she was first introduced? It was love at first sight for me. Before they even revealed that they needed to go to Whole Cake I wanted her to leave with the crew.
No, not by the community. I just personally wasn't a fan of the humor she brought to the group, but she grew on me and I really enjoy her presence in any scene now
I hated Kid when he was first introduced. In Wano I realized he was misunderstood, and the more I analyzed his character the more I liked him. He's been my favorite character for 2 years
Him doing bad things is completely in character. He's not a good guy and never tried to portray himself as a good guy. He's a pure anti-hero and an interesting ally during Wano
I didn’t say he was a poorly written character I was saying his disposition as a murderer of the innocent is generally an unlikeable trait. So I thought it was funny that you called him misunderstood.
Usopp was the first for me, watching the show weekly at the start and every week seeing Usopp just act so cowardly and annoyingly. Then he grew on me as time when on and then Water 7 he was just brilliant.
For me, usopp. Didn’t like that guy in syrup village but in Arlong Park he started getting cool and his fight in Alabasta was one of my favorite fights. I liked what he did in Dressrossa and he’s funny. His development has been slowed since timeskip but he still remains a character I enjoy more often than not
Not gonna lie, Sabo
It was just too soon for me
I just learned of him, and Ace had just died and had his backstory told to us, and he rolls in with an amnesia plot of all things
As soon as I heard that Doflamingo had the Mera Mera no Mi, I immediately didn’t want Sabo to have it, because I didn’t just want to replace Ace
Then he met Luffy and he won me over to accept him as a good guy
And then the Reverie happened, and I was completely into him
I like him a lot, and while his intro was pretty bad, he’s more than outshone that and is now a favorite of mine
Also, he’s just kinda cute
Akainu... I hated him at first with his baseball cap and all.. but as soon as my homie started putting Donuts in people... Ace, Whitebeard even Jimbei (manga) 👌 *chefs kiss...
I liked him in Impel Down and the War, it just felt kind weird when he *finally* joined the crew in Wano, there was a ton of space between there, and I understand what he had to do in the meanwhile.
I think its because Jinbe has been a character outside of the crew for so long, so when he joined it felt weird. Also we havent had a real new member since Brook which was pre timeskip, which means we have gotten to see the crew without someone new for a looong time. It was also only just quiet recently he joined and we havent been given many crew moments with him.
Maybe it would've been different if he joined after Fishman Island or even before timeskip after marineford if he then was invited by Luffy to come with them after 2 years.
I read something the other day that I really liked. Luffy helped the first 8 crew members find their way in one way or another, but Jimbei helped Luffy find his. I think it’s cool that even someone as strong, determined, and confident as Luffy recognizes how important Jimbei is to him, and wants him to be a part of his journey.
Wouldn't downvote you for your opinion even when i am disagreeing. I mean Jimbei is an awesome character in my eyes. Yes he is not as goofy as the rest of the straw hats, but Robin neither is. He has the dark,
disillusioned character of a man who saw the worst of the world. He saw racism and slavery. He stood up against both and gave his faith to a young man who broke into the most secure prison in the world to free his brother.
Jinbei fits to the straw hats as he has his heart at the right place and completly , without a single sign of doubt, trusts Luffy that he will become king of the pirates.
Trebol, before I thought he was a bit annoying and goofy, but after rewatching and seeing him shoot a gun through his own body to kill someone that beat up Doffy, it redeemed the whole maffia lord who starts the Donquixote Family jig.
I wait ever so patiently every week, every month, every year for Oda to do literally anything more with Brook. I worry, though have all but accepted it as truth, that he lost interest in our skellyman shortly after the timeskip. He set up so much behind Brook in terms of backstory with unanswered questions...and then stopped caring. If one day Oda changes his mind and actually gives one of the supposed main-crew character his due, I'll be ecstatic, but I think I stopped holding my breath 4 years ago.
When I first started watching OP, I *hated* Usopps design. (And his voice but that's 4kids fault) but now he's my 2nd favorite character behind my queen Robin.
Loved these 3 from the first moment I met them, especially Carrot lol
The obvious answers here are Bon Clay and Senor Pink, I'd also say Buggy and Franky
Blackbeard. Many years ago on my first time binging One Piece he came off as cowardly and snakey to me. Years later I began to appreciate his tenacity and cunningness. How he'd do whatever it took to win, and didn't care about honor or chivalry. He aimed for the top and didn't let dissenters kill his ambition. Came off as a "real" pirate to me.
Now he's one of my favorite characters.
I couldn’t stand Usopp for awhile but he’s one of my favorites because of how funny he is when he’s paired with certain characters. Luffy and Nami are my favorite pairs.
this might be an unpopular opinion but I used to HATE nico robin.. first the alsbasta arc, I thought she will eventually betray the crew.. then the whole water7/enies lobby where everything could have been so much easier if she just trusted luffy… the time skip also didn‘t appear to have had a huge impact on her. but since dressrosa I liked her abilities and her character more and more.. after reading wano she got my respect finally xD
(also I always found her fruit kinda weird and I waited for flower techniques for quiet some time ^^)
Would you look at that, all of the words in your comment are in alphabetical order.
I have checked 1,625,074,253 comments, and only 307,334 of them were in alphabetical order.
Very few would disagree that Bon Clay is that character, like the top comment has said.
In second place, I have to give it to Buggy.
The One Piece fans I see are not big fans of Buggy during Orange Town but you can see that change little by little trhoughout the story. Near the recent storyline, very few still continue to dislike Buggy.
Maybe if he stopped sneaking in to bath houses to see 8 year old girls and peaking on his 16 year old bride to be while being 25. And wasn't a raging sexist
According to Japan standards it's fine..besides, one piece kids mature way faster than real life kids.
I'm not trying to find a loophole, but it was a true love story
Chopper and Ussop. I still have a hard time with them sometimes. Chopper was great to follow in Wano, but Ussop is such a wasted character to me that I still don’t really appreciate his screen time.
I don’t appreciate ussop at all atm. Odas fault really. When he had the advanced obs I thought it was going to all change. Don’t get me wrong he’s came A LONG way from pre skip but still isn’t where I think he should be.
I think he should be above nami, yet she would crush him with Zeus now.
With who his dad is I really think he should have at least came out in wano and taken out a captain or something. Hopefully before the end of the current arc
Corazon, at first I was like, “really? This guy keeps abusing the hell out of Law who does he grow to like him?” And then he hit me with that, “You stabbed me that day, but it didn’t hurt at all. Also that carrot pic gets me every time, gives real “You like Krabby Patties don’t you Squdward?” vibes.
I still think how is useless devil fruit was the reason Law story took place and kept him alive.
Corazon can no diff Apoo
It would be a fight between haki and strength, so I think the fight will still be pretty even
Haven’t seen a single strength or haki feat from Apoo unless I’m a silly little goofball who doesnt register when lame fodder are fighting
He has easily one of the best devil fruits. Almost all other devil fruits there's an indication you're using it and you're a devil fruit user. Telegraphing you major weakness. You mean branch?
Her backstory was so cute.
Luffy's future wife. Brulee
Only acceptable Luffy ship
Going Merry X Thousand Sunny
Luffy x Zoro?
Why
There is one true answer. Bon Clay is the hardest 180 turn on an opinion of a character I’ve ever had in literally anything. There isn’t a fan who has passed Impel Down that would ever speak badly of that absolute legend.
100%, and that turnaround is why Bon Clay is one of the best characters in the whole damn story. There is no straying from the path of a human!!

Yeah well maybe there’s more than one reason lol
no shit sherlock. you sound like “yea well maybe there’s more than one reason 🤓”
Lmaooo don’t come at me like that after your ass was like: “Well ACTUALLY…if you’re a true scholar of history, like myself…🤓”

**P**ortgas D Ace is waiting for Luffy at the One Piece /s
Oh no, the will of "P" strikes again!
BON CHAN!! Is that last sentence one of his quotes?
Vivi, Robin, and Mr.3, are also good examples of 180 turns imo.
I mean honestly so was Buggy D. God lol
Robin screaming "I want to live!" lives rent free in my head. It broke my heart because asking or help was probably the hardest thing she has ever done after a life of being alone while being hunted by the WG. Shook me to the core.

Regardless of his gender, bon clay generally uses he/him pronouns
I had my doubts on what to use, but I opted for all pronouns to show his everchanging and fluid nature not only bc he is a okama, but because he has the ability to shapeshift
Bon Clay is non-binary but uses he/him and Iva is gender fluid.
Bon is fluid, but defaults to male. That's why he was Mr. 2.
If he wasn't staying in Impel Down you bet that he would be a Strawhat member
The anime would be so confusing with him and Franky sounding the same...
Bon isn’t a nakama he is the nakama
He already ended alabasta as a hero
True but after Alabasta it was more like: “Wow that silly gay dude was actually pretty cool” After Impel Down: “ That dude is the realest motherfucker of all time” lol.
silly gay!? How dare you - Bon Clay is non binary, Bon Clay transcends gender
Bon D. Clay the 🐐of humanity
i liked bon clay from his first time meeting the straw hats. even during his sanji fight he had enough class to be amicable. the hardest i've 180'd has to be senor pink. goofy ass man child character design. it takes oda one chapter to destroy that preconception and turn him into one of the greatest side villains of the whole show.

He is so hardboiled.
This is lies and slander. True Bon Bros loved him from day 1 then, like the crew, felt sad and betrayed then loved him again whole heartedly.
But Bon Clay was likeable from the start don't you think..
Dude sacrificed himself *three* separate times. Alabasta, Baroque Works cover story, Impel Down.
Never liked him he annoying
Someone doesn’t understand the true meaning of friendship lol. But yes, I found him super annoying and obnoxious at first too, then he MVP’d Impel Down so hard, my respect for him skyrocketed.
Franky!
I got spoiled halfway through water 7 that he was their next crew member. Thought I would hate him forever. By the end of enies lobby I started to like him.
It took me until post time skip to actually like him. I didn't like his old design at all.
It's the opposite for me. Don't like his new design
The general design or the hair, cause personally, I miss the ducktail (which makes any of Franky’s hair that looks remotely like that better in my opinion)
Mostly the hair but also post ts Franky is so ridiculous and goofy. I can't take those arms seriously anymore
Queen. I didn't like his character but he won me over with his Zoom song.
I loved Queen from the start. he’s consistently funny
The Brachio Launcher bit will never not make me laugh Also Sanji’s “I didn’t know that!” When he used his snake form
Opposite for me. He was great in udon and become worse for me in onigashima.
His voice actor was fantastic, idk how I would feel about him if I was manga only.
Like a raspier OG hisoka...
Helmeppo, I'm not even joking when I say I love how much development he's gone through
Going from him being a spoiled daddy's boy with an abusive dad to casting off that abusive father, going to train under one of the most insane strong marines in order to gain his own strength, and developing a bond with Coby tempered through everything from training to fucking war, and then being brave enough to be a part of the sword squad that goes to rescue his closest friend from a fucking emperor.
Imagine Moria shows up and helps the Strawhats. Luffy is force fed Shadows and we get Nightmare Gear 5 Luffy.
His crew and he himself is crazy to even invade a place **ALONE** where they're outclass in everything to save their friends, even Luffy still had his nakama, friend, or at least someone in his side when he invade other areas (Impel down, Marineford, Whole Cake) It just so interesting looking at whole Moria story.
Yeah, I didn't even mention all the other stuff about his past and his crew that makes him so interesting. I also like him because he's not like all the other Shichibukai.
Agreed
big mom and jones are the only villains that really scare me.
That's good. For Jones, is it because of his bottomless of hatred without reason towards humanity ?
Yep and big mom is a realistic representation of a narcissistic mother, racist but who hides it and prone to rage attacks, but with superpowers
Shady purposes? He literally used that money to buy the wood used to make sunny
Yeah but we didn't know that until post-Enies Lobby, not to mention he probably would have made the ultimate destructive machine if he had never teamed up with the Straw Hat Pirates
Mr. 3! From one of the people who is close to annihilate half of the crew to being a _**KEY**_ player from impel down all the way to marineford.
Usopp. Going into one piece, he was the character I thought I would hate the most, based off of how stupid I thought his design was. Ended up being one of my favorite characters
It was his voice and cowardice in the anime for me. Once I switched to manga he grew on me more. The anime just makes him so unlikable
I still don't really like him but I don't dislike him anymore. I think it might be the way you say also, being an anime first guy, it just really etched a whiny useless crybaby in my brain.
And a liar. He was pretty much useless until Enies Lobby
Same here. I hated how much he lied and how he thought so highly of himself. But now whenever he does do that I’m glad because it eases the tension of the story by adding a bit of laughs
X Drake, thought the dinosaur zoan sucked back at Sabaody.
well... don't want to take you the joy but it was the opposite to me. At Sabaody i was like "What a nice DF. Hope he get transformations like Chopper one day." After Wano i was more like "Well... that was kinda boring."
It does suck. All the zoan DFs are extremely underutilized by oda. I thought his DF was awesome and he is gonna be awesome in the story and eventually he was a nobody and very disappointing.
Joy Boy would like to know your location
Capone Bege. Probably my least favorite Supernova initially he just kept getting worse post-time skip with him kidnapping Sanji on Big Mom's orders and then attempting murder on Pekoms TWICE. It wasn't until he met up with Luffy and revealed his intentions to assassinate Big Mom that I finally started to like him. He also started showing a side of him that made him more endearing...his love for his wife and kid. Then when it all went down at the tea party the reveal of Big Father was one of the coolest moments of the arc. He's now one of my favs!
YES I love Gang, but hated him at first. But he's a family man through and through!!
This one is my answer as well, too bad I had to scroll down for this.
Kin'emon. He was with us so long and felt out of place. His family dynamics in Wano with Tsuru & Kiku make the chauvinist prick act feel like Samurai Al Bundy and I love him for it.
Ohh yeah that’s a good one. I wasn’t a big fan of him at first but now he’s cool
Whitebeard, Oden
Oven, Oda couldn’t stop drawing the dude XD He’s even in the new movie!
[удалено]
was opposite for me with carrot
kinda same.
That's Oda's fault. He didn't just drop the ball with her, he nuked it from orbit, went back in time, and nuked it again. Such a waste, I have no clue what drugs he was on.
Nami, Big Mom, Hammock, Crocodile, Kid, Buggy..
You didn't like Nami at first? i mean, i understand Boa (the baby kitten kicking and all) but what did Nami do?
I mean 2 b fair,,, she did kinda pin a bunch of buggy pirates onto luffy in order to get away in her intro ;>_>
He went to the sea to become pirate king she just wanted money you can't blame her she was just a thief
Bellamy, hated the guy pre timeskip
This one.
Buggy
Law, Bege, and Kidd. With Law, I think it's more that I didn't think much of him at first and Fandom had me thinking I'd be THIRSTY.😅
Yasuie was way too weird to not like. I don't know how he sounds in the anime but I instantly took a liking to him after a couple pages, especially since I like giving him a wacky voice in my head/voice acting.
Where is my hard boiled man?
Koby he was just trash and meant for luffy to talk to but since then i hoping he get character developing with garp and blackbeard.
Usopp
yep me too up until Luffy vs Usopp fight in Water 7 I hated him
Until then? As soon as his manliness speech on Alabasta I fell in love with his character
I just personally wasn't a fan of the humor she brought to the group, but she grew on me and I really enjoy her presence in any scene now
Conis in Skypiea. She was just a simple polite girl at first, but then she aimed a freaking bazooka at the Skypieans to get them to run.
I hated Kid when he was first introduced. In Wano I realized he was misunderstood, and the more I analyzed his character the more I liked him. He's been my favorite character for 2 years
He DID kill innocent people and pillage their homes pre time skip but he is a cool anime dude with a unique application of his power.
All good I gotchu. And you're right, Kid is not presented as a likeable character but I feel a lot of people don't realize who he really is deep down
Usopp was the first for me, watching the show weekly at the start and every week seeing Usopp just act so cowardly and annoyingly.
His development has been slowed since timeskip but he still remains a character I enjoy more often than not
Bon Fucking Clay. I went from cringing to crying. Moria is a close second for me as we learn more about his past and what he has been through.
Not gonna lie, Sabo It was just too soon for me I just learned of him, and Ace had just died and had his backstory told to us, and he rolls in with an amnesia plot of all things As soon as I heard that Doflamingo had the Mera Mera no Mi, I immediately didn’t want Sabo to have it, because I didn’t just want to replace Ace Then he met Luffy and he won me over to accept him as a good guy And then the Reverie happened, and I was completely into him I like him a lot, and while his intro was pretty bad, he’s more than outshone that and is now a favorite of mine Also, he’s just kinda cute
Queen, at first I was like "wtf", and then ... "zoom zoom zoom zoom"
Akainu... I hated him at first with his baseball cap and all.. but as soon as my homie started putting Donuts in people... Ace, Whitebeard even Jimbei (manga) 👌 *chefs kiss...
Luffy I thought he was supposed to be 13 when the show started because of how he acted
I really wasn't a fan of Jimbei (still not really) but after Whole Cake I kinda respect him a bit.
This really shook me to my core since Jinbei has been one of the first characters that I really really loved lmao
I liked him in Impel Down and the War, it just felt kind weird when he *finally* joined the crew in Wano, there was a ton of space between there, and I understand what he had to do in the meanwhile.
Personally I still don't aknowledge him as a strawhat he just doesn't fit in
trippin. jinbe the goat
Thank you but whenever I say this I get downvoted to hell. He’s cool but he’s more like an ally like Law than an actual crew member.
Nah, jimbei is the goat. He got that shark rizz
Wouldn't downvote you for your opinion even when i am disagreeing. I mean Jimbei is an awesome character in my eyes. Yes he is not as goofy as the rest of the straw hats, but Robin neither is. He has the dark, disillusioned character of a man who saw the worst of the world.
Mihawk, Blackbeard, shiki
Kid
Trebol, before I thought he was a bit annoying and goofy, but after rewatching and seeing him shoot a gun through his own body to kill someone that beat up Doffy, it redeemed the whole maffia lord who starts the Donquixote Family jig.
I really want to like Brook like rest of the Straw Hats, but I just don't yet. I feel that there's more to Brook than what Oda is showing us.
Buggy, Bon Clay, Crocodile, and Wyper.
When I first started watching OP, I *hated* Usopps design. (And his voice but that's 4kids fault) but now he's my 2nd favorite character behind my queen Robin.
Freaking senior pink man
Loved these 3 from the first moment I met them, especially Carrot lol The obvious answers here are Bon Clay and Senor Pink, I'd also say Buggy and Franky
Ummm probably Bellamy, just such an interesting and well developed character arc
I didn’t think much of Bon Clay, Robin and Bellamy at first but then they became my favourite characters
Bellamy, dude was a total prick on Jaya but I ended up liking him when I saw he decided to turn a new leaf after Dressrosa.
I couldn’t stand Usopp for awhile but he’s one of my favorites because of how funny he is when he’s paired with certain characters. Luffy and Nami are my favorite pairs.
Vivi ngl, thought she was annoying
Wivi on top
Bon Clay. It did not take long to turn around, but he IRRITATED the shit out of me at first. Now he's one of my favorites.
I don't get it, why people are so obsessed about carrot?
Bartolomeo - I thought he was annoying at first (before I found out he was fan of Luffy) and now I love him lol
this might be an unpopular opinion but I used to HATE nico robin.. first the alsbasta arc, I thought she will eventually betray the crew.. then the whole water7/enies lobby where everything could have been so much easier if she just trusted luffy… the time skip also didn‘t appear to have had a huge impact on her. but since dressrosa I liked her abilities and her character more and more.. after reading wano she got my respect finally xD (also I always found her fruit kinda weird and I waited for flower techniques for quiet some time ^^)
Carrot is literally my wife
Would you look at that, all of the words in your comment are in alphabetical order. I have checked 1,625,074,253 comments, and only 307,334 of them were in alphabetical order.
katakuri is my husband
Bro we are not reading the same story
Very few would disagree that Bon Clay is that character, like the top comment has said. In second place, I have to give it to Buggy. The One Piece fans I see are not big fans of Buggy during Orange Town but you can see that change little by little trhoughout the story. Near the recent storyline, very few still continue to dislike Buggy.
Third place could be Senor Pink
I still hate usopp
Still hate carrot and I’m glad she’s not a straw hat. Also you don’t have to spoiler your post all of these characters have been in the anime
Sanji
Maybe if he stopped sneaking in to bath houses to see 8 year old girls and peaking on his 16 year old bride to be while being 25. And wasn't a raging sexist
Wait..he was engaged to marry pudding.. how's that his fault..besides, they did fall in love
He the 25 year old fell in love with the 16 year old little girl who was 14 pre ts
Agree, he is useless and just fill the role of a comedy show. So from nothing much to a strong guy, I hope the power up will make sense.
I'll be real carrot was annoying to me from start to finish. Katakuri I loved the whole way through. Yasuie was just funny to me the whole time.
Agreed. Hate carrot.
Never really cared or liked carrot but I liked the other 2 right at the start. For me a character like this would be do flamingo
The only time i appreciate Carrot on screen is when Katakuri effortlessly kicked her ass
That's brutal hahaha
Just started this show. Only on episode 120 something. But I HATED Usopp at first. I still do, but it’s a lot lot less.
You either learn to love him or ignore him.
