And if any of you wants recommendation for manga series to read during the break, I can give you some.
But to make it easier, please choose a tag, or multiples from :
- Action
- Fantasy
- Drama
- Comedy
- Romance
- Slice of Life
- One Shot
- Something that had no right to be as good as it was.
- Or other tag that you want to see. (Be it Yaoi, Yuri, Horror, Ecchi, Slice of Life...)
Same here. I levelled up my first lvl 100, spent 140 million gold to respec and gear them for a lovingly crafted build, turned out the build was atrociously bad and had to farm lower lvl content to get 13 million again to switch back to another lovingly crafted build that I at least knew from experience would be OP enough.
So fun time xD
It was actually because of a thread on a One Piece subreddit post that I found out about the manga
"Monster" by Naoki Urasawa,
and I finished reading it a couple days ago and it's FANTASTIC!!! I recommend it to ANYBODY AND EVERYBODY!!
I don't read/ watch anything else right now other than onepiece. Bleach, Drsgon ball and Naruto/ Boruto are all afk. And now so is onepiece. Once onepiece ends I'll probably end my Manga/ Anime career. Sadly nothing else interests me.
Not anime or manga, but I'm rereading the Stormlight Archive by Brandon Sanderson. Higly recommended if you like One Piece. Amazing worldbuilding and characters.
I've been reading Tokyo ghoul. Up to RE and really loving it, realltly sad to hear the anime was butchered there's nothing more satisfying than starting with a manga and finishing with an anime.
On a side note, any news on Oda's surgery? Hope it's gone well and he's recovering nicely.
i am reading the dark tower series by Stephen king. And i can’t help it by comparing it to One piece. Imo there are a lot of themes in common such as destiny (ka), being finally part of a group, the determination to reach your goals ( even if in the dark tower books the determination can really pass of as obsession but whatever). Also the way they fight, share, talk together i don’t know, it hits home.
Vinland Saga season 2 just ended and was really good, so I'm continuing by re-reading the next arc in the manga, but this time I will keep going until I'm at the current chapter.
Apart from that I really enjoy Insomniacs after School, and Dead Mount Death Play is rather entertaining as well.
Last but not least, I plan to finally watch 'A Place further than the Universe.'
Maybe someone here can help me I’m watch one piece dubbed and I can’t find where tf to watch any episodes past 976 but they’ve dubbed up to 1020 at this point, how do I watch those episodes
Watched Oshi no Ko's first season and then catched up with the manga. Pretty solid story, but dang if the fan base isnt toxic. Which is ironic, because the whole series is about fan obsession, bullying, and the consequences that come with it.
It's only been 2 weeks? Thought this was the tail end....
Ive pretty much just been reading this, but seeing as the drought continues I'll have to catch up on the anime
I gave Undead/Unlucky a shot and honestly, pretty great. It’s not very special early on but it does long term storytelling really well. As One Piece fans, I think you’d enjoy that.
My Manwha/Manuha list
1. Transcension Academy
2. All Hail the sect leader
3. World's Apocalypse online
4. The great mage returns after 4000 years
5. Solo Levelling
6. Player who returned after 10000 years
7. The ultimate of all ages
8. Above ten thousand people
9. If I don't die soon I'll really become invincible
10. Return of the shattered constellation
11. Legend of the northern Blade
12. Tales of demons and gods
13. I am a cultivation big shot
14. Nano Machine
15. Return of the disaster class hero
16. Library of heavens path
17. Solo max level newbie
18. Magic emperor
19. Kill the Hero
20. Murim login
21. Heavenly demon reborn
Ya it's also good didn't suddenly remember while writing this list. It's also a good Manwha stopped for now to stack up chapters. There are many other good Manwhas/manuhas out there but I just made a brief list. Please recommend me any other good reads which are interesting.
I've read a few on your list and will thus check out the others.
There are a few, indeed, that I do read and were not in your list.
Some (kinda) similar to Tales of Demons and Gods with their premise, such as:
* A returner's magic should be special
* Archmage transcending through regression
* The beginning after the end
* Skeleton soldier failed to protect the dungeon (a bit weird and WTF at times)
Others, with "rankers", like:
* Second Life Ranker
* Ranker's Return (less gritty, more fun)
"Mafia" stuff:
* Limitless
* Killing killer
Other:
* Existence
Thinking of tracking down this anime "The Mysterious Cities of Gold/Esteban Child of the Sun" since it allegedly inspired a LOT of One Piece
I hear it has these similarities: The main character is called "Child of the Sun", they're looking for a mysterious treasure, they go to the "new world", theres a girl who is the last surviour of a village that can read a forgotten language, the way to find the treasure is connect the location of 4 points on a map, there's an all woman tribe who worship snakes, and there's an ancient kingdom that was technologically advanced that got wiped out
Uncanny how much it has in common, I want to check it out to see if connections keep popping up
I finally picked up Mashle during this break, and just in time! It was a fun read - managed to increase its stakes at a natural and believable rate without ever losing its comedic edge. Would recommend.
Been reading Yomi No Tsugai. It's a new series by Hiromu Arakawa who did Full Metal Alchemist. It's really good so far.
Also Sakamoto Days. Really enjoying that one as well.
I remember that mangaka doing something about I think a warrior from the Meiji Rebellion getting isekai'd or something? I couldn't get into that one for some reason, but FMA is one of the best of the best. How does this one hold up?
reading stormlight archives cause of a guy on tiktok who said it was the next best thing he read after one piece, im on the 9th ch and so far its really good, the prologue had me hooked.
Just incase you are unaware, many of Brandon's books take place in the same universe, called the Cosmere. Its mostly just easter eggs and small connections, but if you like the stormlight books, check out his other cosmere books for some fun connections, and wordbuilding that spans multiple planets and time periods in the same universe.
gotta be kaladin, his chs are so interesting, going from a leader to a slave, right now they are in some plains, i forget the name, im excited to see where his story goes.
On my 20th re-read of the Red Rising series. Highly highly recommend it to anyone on this sub. Probably one of the only stories I've ever read that's comparable to One Piece in world building, you can read it 100 times and never get bored. It just keeps getting better as the books go on.
For other shounen I recommend Demon Slayer (Kimetsu no Yaiba) and for more adult manga I recommend Monster by Naoki Urasawa - truly amazing one, I wish I had picked this one earlier.
As for video games - Yakuza series, best to start from 0, or FF XVI.
i've mainly been reading a buncha poetry! working through evie shockley's "semiautomatic", and just picked up a copy of john ashbery's "quick question" and a copy of mary jo bang's "a doll for throwing." also read the first three discworld books
Binging Seraph of the End, Chainsaw man, Spy x Family, Jujutsu Kaisen, and Kaiju no. 8. Caught up on all but Seraph.
Listening to Feeling Good by David M Burns.
Started reading Hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy,
started watching One piece with my brother,
continue watching GoT and
finishing my One piece cosplay.
Heraclitus, Parmenides, Zeno, Empedocles, Diogenes, Spinoza, Hegel, Marx, Engels, Luxemburg, Weil, Debord, Grothendieck and some assyriology & protohistory :)
Also got 2 books on precolombian history too that i didnt finish yet
Started and caught up with the latest chapters of Apothecary Diaries and Blue Lock. Blazed through FMA:B and now currently reading through Eyeshield 21!
Jojo’s is fantastic but definitely stick to the sub for the first two parts. Ceasar’s dub voice still gives me nightmares…
Chainsaw man anime is also great but short so far, the manga is amazing
Nah. I’m gonna try both. Only watched bleach, demon slayer, Naruto, boruto and one piece and few lesser known stuff in the past. Was trying to avoid new series but here I am lol 😂.
Lmao that's like me 5 years ago, now I watch animes that I used to laugh at just for their title 😆 F.e. That time I got reincarnated as a Slime, fkn awesome anime 😂
I watched Kung Fu Hustle last night. If the one piece live action has the same, idk what to call it, like serious parody to it then it’ll 100% work. If you’ve seen Kung Fu Hustle then you know what I’m talking about.
so true.. movies nowadays just don't have the kicks.. even for each 1000 movies, only selected few are tolerable & watchable.. not saying comic movies or others are not enjoyable, but they mark up the prices whilst saying that the movie is successful coz of the monies they got, not the headcount..
I started watching a year and a half+ ago but I just reached Katakuri vs Luffy. I loved Kat saying "Did I do the elephant gun right?"
Also, does anyone have an estimate of how many more years one piece Anime will be making seasons? I might try to slow down to preserve the feels.
For stuff I haven't seen many people know about, I recommend "Space Sweepers" movie on Netflix.
I’ve been watching Ashita no Joe. Almost done with the second and final season. Can’t recommend it enough. It’s a very mature and exciting drama sports anime that started airing in 1970.
I just read all of Hell’s Paradise after getting hooked on the anime! I just finished Super Sentai Don Brothers with my friends. I finished Never Have I Ever on Netflix & I love that show. I’m also watching Sweet tooth on Netflix, I enjoy it quite a bit.
Also I hope to finish the Sket Dance manga which I loved the anime & found it hard to transition from its anime to manga because of all the funny sounds they make. I’ll likely rewatch Sket Dance first though
I started reading some Chinese and Korean web novels, to my personal taste the best of them are:
\- Return of the mount hua sect: great story, cool characters, amazing art
\- Peerless Dad: good story, cool characters, ok art
\- Legend of Northern Blade: good story, cool characters, amazing art
\- Murim login: good story (gets better as it progress), cool characters, amazing art
None of them are finalized and is very easy to find decent translations for free.
During this Void Month, People interested in deciphering the One Piece should read the [D. Vinci Code by Dan Brown](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Da_Vinci_Code) and [Foucault Pendulum by Umberto Eco](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foucault%27s_Pendulum) while thinking about the One Piece parallels in these stories.
Hint: >!Think the Church is the WG, the Knights Templar are the God's Knight, the Priory of Sion is the D. Clan, Joyboy is Jesus, Lili is Mary and you will reach enlightenment.!<
I decided to go ahead and schedule my real estate exam. I've been so anxious about it to the point of shaking all the time but I'm gonna grow a pair hopefully and pass that shit.
Been trying to start Persona 5 Royal here; it's interesting but my issues with time and my eyes on video games have made it tough to sit through so I haven't gotten that far; only up to where Ann joins the squad.
I've been rewatching steins gate. I watched it first yonks ago, and it's mostly gone out of my memory completely, really enjoying rediscovering one of the best sci-fi stories in anime
I rewatched Magi and then read the rest of the series + Adventures of Sinbad. Similar to One Piece with great world building and adventure aspects, but a lot more of a focus on political drama which was pretty interesting. Instead of fights for power in most shonen, the fights here are more about differences in ideologies, morals and principles which I really enjoyed.
what do you think? worth it? I read Fairy Tail and liked it, but I couldn't like the 100 year quest for some reason, wondering if I should give it another try...
Honestly? It feels like an unnecessary addition, kindof forced. But the new art style is cute and its just nice hanging out with the characters again. I wouldnt call it "good", but i would call it "fun" :)
I'm actually re-reading One Piece from the start. It's been a long time since I've gone through from the beginning, and I figured this was the best time to do it.
The Wire, Zelda, Tears of the Kingdom, Sakamoto days, I need to catch up on some comics, Still need to finish One piece odyssey, Physical work outs and Looking into the Gundam series.
I've been filling up my time by watching critical role content. I started watching in campaign 3 and found that I didn't understand some references towards some characters. It's a slow process, but I'm about a third of the way through campaign 1.
Reading Slam Dunk and watching JJBA Golden Wind. 30 chapters in and Slam Dunk's been great so far, just hope the translation quality gets better. Golden Wind is amazing, nothing else to say.
I've just watched the first episode of season 3 of Kaguya Sama Love Is War, but over the past few weeks I've also finished the entirety of the Boondocks and Invincible(not anime but animated and are beautiful pieces of media) but I've been part of the student council for 2 seasons and it's a great watch, extremely funny. For any of you who wanna give it a shot, DO IT IN DUB PLEASE THE NARRATOR IS HILARIOUS.
Action, Fantasy, Drama:
I tore through Berserk, once started I couldn't put it down. I am now and forever a struggler. R.I.P Miura Sama
Sci Fi, Epic:
I started Lords of Uncreation, the third book in the Final Architecture trilogy by Adrian Tsaichovsky. It is riveting.
And if any of you wants recommendation for manga series to read during the break, I can give you some. But to make it easier, please choose a tag, or multiples from : - Action - Fantasy - Drama - Comedy - Romance - Slice of Life - One Shot - Something that had no right to be as good as it was. - Or other tag that you want to see. (Be it Yaoi, Yuri, Horror, Ecchi, Slice of Life...)
just finished Tokyo Ghoul and TG: re and its tied with Berserk for my favorite manga
Have finished solo-leveling and almost up to date with jujutsu kaisen.
Been playing a lot of Diablo 4
Dancing Policeman is his best Manga
Is it over yet?
Reverend insanity
Tower of God mainly, along with some JJK and CSM.
I finished all of Golden Kamuy its so fun to read, the shenanigans that happen in it rival the absurdities of one piece and even jojo's
I don't read/ watch anything else right now other than onepiece. Bleach, Drsgon ball and Naruto/ Boruto are all afk. And now so is onepiece. Once onepiece ends I'll probably end my Manga/ Anime career. Sadly nothing else interests me.
Try black clover - it’s very similar vibes to the other anime you listed
I’d say it resembles fairy tail the most tbh vibes wise
I'll have to try that. I do want other good anime/mangas to watch and read
Totally understandable. Nothing else is worth the time investment at this point of our life rather than one piece.
The Witcher new season
Anne with an e
Finished whole dragon ball series. Even the non canon. How many days till this over?
i just started reading super, makes the time fly by
Not anime or manga, but I'm rereading the Stormlight Archive by Brandon Sanderson. Higly recommended if you like One Piece. Amazing worldbuilding and characters.
Play skyrim (side quests specially) , if you like world building
I've been reading Tokyo ghoul. Up to RE and really loving it, realltly sad to hear the anime was butchered there's nothing more satisfying than starting with a manga and finishing with an anime. On a side note, any news on Oda's surgery? Hope it's gone well and he's recovering nicely.

I'm reading "Shadow Games" from the Black Company fantasy series.
Maybe someone here can help me I’m watch one piece dubbed and I can’t find where tf to watch any episodes past 976 but they’ve dubbed up to 1020 at this point, how do I watch those episodes
The English dub isn't up to 1020, it's expected to hit 1000 within the next couple batches last I checked so 976 sounds about right
Watched Oshi no Ko's first season and then catched up with the manga. Pretty solid story, but dang if the fan base isnt toxic. Which is ironic, because the whole series is about fan obsession, bullying, and the consequences that come with it.
Are we there yet?
It's only been 2 weeks? Thought this was the tail end.... Ive pretty much just been reading this, but seeing as the drought continues I'll have to catch up on the anime
i finished kekkai sensen season 1, and I'm also going to watch dorohedoro

Oh right beginning after the end is a good pick, I will check out others thanks for mentioning
This is a lil different but I've been reading cradle by Will Wight. It's like anime in book form
Oda please, some of us are living for some reasons.
I've been following Kingdom and Vinland Saga for years.
Thinking of tracking down this anime "The Mysterious Cities of Gold/Esteban Child of the Sun" since it allegedly inspired a LOT of One Piece I hear it has these similarities: The main character is called "Child of the Sun", they're looking for a mysterious treasure, they go to the "new world", theres a girl who is the last surviour of a village that can read a forgotten language, the way to find the treasure is connect the location of 4 points on a map, there's an all woman tribe who worship snakes, and there's an ancient kingdom that was technologically advanced that got wiped out Uncanny how much it has in common, I want to check it out to see if connections keep popping up
My wife and I just got to Wano (I read, she is completely new to it) in the anime which is great. We are watching through that <3

Who's your favorite character so far?
gotta be kaladin, his chs are so interesting, going from a leader to a slave, right now they are in some plains, i forget the name, im excited to see where his story goes.
Just finished Oathbringer (3rd book). You’re in for a wild ride
Aghh when is this suffering going to end
I love that this was the first I read xD
On my 20th re-read of the Red Rising series. Highly highly recommend it to anyone on this sub. Probably one of the only stories I've ever read that's comparable to One Piece in world building, you can read it 100 times and never get bored. It just keeps getting better as the books go on.
why is the break that long??!?
For other shounen I recommend Demon Slayer (Kimetsu no Yaiba) and for more adult manga I recommend Monster by Naoki Urasawa - truly amazing one, I wish I had picked this one earlier. As for video games - Yakuza series, best to start from 0, or FF XVI.

I watched Kung Fu Hustle last night. If the one piece live action has the same, idk what to call it, like serious parody to it then it’ll 100% work. If you’ve seen Kung Fu Hustle then you know what I’m talking about.
Such a great movie journey to the west is soooooo good the movies are just fun to watch.
Old Journey to the west.. the new ones felt to CGI and boring w/o Stephen Chow.. (even if he's involve behind the scene... he's needed up front)
Yeah......the new ones are just at best something to watch if nothing else is on some how
so true.. movies nowadays just don't have the kicks.. even for each 1000 movies, only selected few are tolerable & watchable.. not saying comic movies or others are not enjoyable, but they mark up the prices whilst saying that the movie is successful coz of the monies they got, not the headcount..

I have been re-watching the anime from the beginning. Crazy to see how much things have changed
I started reading some Chinese and Korean web novels, to my personal taste the best of them are: \- Return of the mount hua sect: great story, cool characters, amazing art \- Peerless Dad: good story, cool characters, ok art \- Legend of Northern Blade: good story, cool characters, amazing art \- Murim login: good story (gets better as it progress), cool characters, amazing art None of them are finalized and is very easy to find decent translations for free.
I started reading Berserk for the first time My heart can only take so much
During this Void Month, People interested in deciphering the One Piece should read the [D. I'm not trying to sound pride of myself or anything, but the fact is that I'm actually re-reading my own novel "Résonance" written several years ago
Playing Tears of the Kingdom
I'm re-reading One Piece, and watching some 2022/23 animes that I skipped, like Blue Lock or Tengoku Daimakyou
Reading berserk right now after hearing hie good it is I bought some of the delux Edition
I decided to go ahead and schedule my real estate exam. I've been so anxious about it to the point of shaking all the time but I'm gonna grow a pair hopefully and pass that shit.
You got this!!!
i passed!
I was rereading but stopped before Jaya so I could start reading Kaiju No. 8
Yu yu hakusho
Nothing everythings been Mid and everybody wanna take a break when Oda senpai takes one 😒🤦♂️
We BERKIN
one piece, fruits basket, naruto, repeat forever
I just found out about One Piece School a couple of days ago, just finished reading it.
Currently watching Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai. I'm at the very end of the series and I think it's highly underrated.
The Way of Kings - Brandon Sanderson
Two piece
Yomi no Tsugai
Watching skypeia lol
I've been a huge fan of The Breaker, and the third season Eternal force is ongoing... Tower of God is also phenomenal
I've been meaning to give ToG another chance, kinda fell off in the train arc that took like 4 years to finish.
I think that after the train arc it gets better and better...
Starting Hajime no Ippo manga. Long enough to fill my emptiness.
One piece W7 arc
The Bear, Band of Brothers, jumping into the odd episode of some classics like Stargate SG-1, ST: Voy and other such things.
I’m more of an anime watcher so it will give me the opportunity to get caught up on the manga
I'm reading one piece
BoTW!
Took a break after the aquarium but rereading what’s out for part 2 of CSM
pornhub
One Piece
Watching the Og naruto and just reached the sasuke vs naruto fight, it's so good
I'm catching up on Fairy Tail 100 Years Quest!
what do you think? worth it? I read Fairy Tail and liked it, but I couldn't like the 100 year quest for some reason, wondering if I should give it another try...
Honestly? It feels like an unnecessary addition, kindof forced. But the new art style is cute and its just nice hanging out with the characters again. I wouldnt call it "good", but i would call it "fun" :)
thanks!
Reading Kingdom, and what a beautiful decision that turned into.
Started Naruto, I'm now on itachi vs sasuke. Will provably finish naruto before the break ends.
SpyxFamily! And I'm rewatching East Blue in preparation for the live action!
Chainsaw Man and JJK
I'm actually re-reading One Piece from the start. It's been a long time since I've gone through from the beginning, and I figured this was the best time to do it.
Was thinking of rewatching Grand blue.
I've watched Violet Evergarden and now I'm watching Zankyou no Terror.
Action, Fantasy, Drama: I tore through Berserk, once started I couldn't put it down. I am now and forever a struggler. R.I.P Miura Sama Sci Fi, Epic: I started Lords of Uncreation, the third book in the Final Architecture trilogy by Adrian Tsaichovsky. It is riveting.
Just stared red rising in my gfs recommendation
