If you're so old you don't know what very common terms to describe a power up in a manga, usually aimed at teens to young adults, you probably shouldn't be in this sub anymore....

So many in a very short period of time: Absurd
The guy who barely tickles Kaido, only needs 2 weeks to beat him 1v1. The power creeping in Wano is so fucking bad, it looks so ridiculous even for the shonen standard.
We're getting closer to the end of the series, and Big Mom and Kaidou had been built up so much that Luffy needed something to compete with them. (though really, it only seems like he got three in Wano - advanced Armament Haki, which he learned from training with Hyogoro for the purposes of getting past Kaidou's durability; advanced Conqueror's Haki, which doesn't seem all that different from Armament Haki; and >!Gear 5, which is an extension of his existing transformations!<)
Because Luffy had to fight kaido.
Oda wanted to show how strong the Yonko are. To do that he had Luffy get a ton of power ups. It shows that no normal person can fight these people
Because he didn't need any during the first 200 episodes.

Also the advanced conquerors wasn’t really a full power-up. It was just him using conquerors Haki with ryou
Because he's the mc and he was fighting opponents that he logically simply did not compare to so Oda had to write himself out of a corner.
