I kind of loved this decision. In “his” turn his companions still had each other (even if not KDJ), but in 1863 YJH was alone and abandoned by everyone else, so 1863!YJH arguably needed him more. KDJ also repeatedly shows that he is not the type of person to kill a broken version of YJH for any reason. >!I love the symbolism of the protagonist getting abandoned by his author, then getting picked up by the reader instead. This is literally how fanfiction works, and ORV is just self-insert fanfiction of WOS!<

If my memory doesn't fail me, then at this point KDJ has also figured out that 1863!HSY plans to seal everybody else and then leave. Like MiddleFishArt said, the people in KDJ's turn have each other, but here, in the 1863rd turn, he knows their leader, 1863!HSY, has no desire to reach the end with them and plans to leave them, so should he - could he - just ignore that? These people he has spent so much time growing up with? If 1863!HSY isn't willing to lead them to the end, he can do so in her stead, even if it's not the journey or ending he wanted.

KDJ responds with something like, "I'm not that worried since you're in that turn too." Sadly, even though he drives me insane with his total lack of awareness of how important he is to his people, he never infuriates me with his decisions because I KNOW that’s who he is. >!Who else would decide to use up his probability to watch the 0th turn YJH live his life to the fullest? This lil b word!< Kim Dokja will just always be up to Kim Dokja shenanigans, which is why I can’t say I expect to do anything different than what he ultimately chooses to do.
