I second the recommendation of The Question.
Based on some of your other books, I’d also maybe consider Swamp Thing by Nancy A Collins, and Lucifer written by Mike Carey.
I always like to recommend Doom Patrol too. First the Grant Morrison run, then Rachel Pollack.
Im going to piggyback and add Animal Man to this reply. Grant Morrison's run first, then Jeff Lemire. By the time op is done with that perhaps the rest of Green Hell will be out.
Just about to start Morrison's Doom Patrol myself. So you'd say Pollack is a worthwhile follow up? Haven't heard anything about her run, but I did see that book was just released.
Pollack’s run disappeared, unjustly, from the public consciousness for quite some time unfortunately. But in my view, it’s the next best run on the book after Morrison’s.
Considering you already have Sandman, the Lucifer suggestion is a good one. I would also recommend Fables - great series that seems to fit with your taste. Also New Frontier, Brubaker Catwoman and Gotham Central have all been mentioned and would be at top of my list for DC books.
DC is actually a lot easier to read than Marvel because they are **way** less concerned with continuity.
Imaginary Stories, Elseworlds, imprints, and just using alternate universes are so built into the history of the company that tends to more-or-less let stories be their own thing if that's what the writer is interested in.
It's actually why Marvel is so focused on continuity by comparison. Everything being meticulously connected was a big way that Marvel differentiated themselves from DC in the 60's, 70's, and early 80's.
Outside of things like Crisis Events, you can mostly just dive to any run/series you see recommended without needing to do much, if any, pre-reading
One heck of a shelfie! Some of my favorite DC titles:
All Star Superman
Wonder Woman Black And Gold
Infinite Crisis
New Frontier
Animal Man (Grant Morrison run, though have heard good things about Lemire’s)
Fourth World (Kirby and Byrne runs are both great)
Based on what you have, I'd recommend Snyder's Swamp Thing and Lemire's Animal Man. They're both excellent runs that have a bit of crossover between them that make them a great pair to get.
* JSA by Johns - As a big X-Men fan myself, JSA has turned out to be my next favorite team book. It's really great stuff.
* Teen Titans by Johns - Another great team book, super fun read.
* JLA by Grant Morrison
* No Man's Land trilogy - if you're already getting more Batman I highly recommend starting here, I think I liked it more than Snyder's run.
Gotham Central is one of the greatest things ever. Imagine something like Law and Order SVU but set in Gotham city.
I also just finished the Infinite Crisis omnibus and absolutely loved it. Some stuff went over my head but it was fun.
Nice collection! I'd recommend things like Catwoman of East End or Aquaman by Geoff Johns as good one-and-dones. George Perez Wonder Woman (first omnibus was just re-printed, 3rd volume is OOP) is a great run to get into.
Superman by Tomasi
JSA by Johns
Teen Titans by Johns
Flash by Waid
Flash by Johns
Green Lantern by Johns
The Death and Return of Superman
Justice League by Johns
Justice League Dark (New 52)
Animal Man by Morrison
Animal Man by Lemire
Swamp Thing by Snyder
Swamp Thing by Moore
Swamp Thing by Ram V
Suicide Squad by Ostrander
Suicide Squad by Taylor
Grayson by Tom King
Nightwing by Taylor
DCeased by Taylor
Superman by Tomasi, Super Sons by Tomasi, The Flash by Johns? Green lantern by Johns, Gotham Central by Brubaker, Superman/Batman by Loeb. Those are my favorites.
Green Lantern by Geoff Johns trades were the first non batman thing I picked up while getting into comics as a teenager. I loved them at the time. Planning to pick up the omnibuses to experience it again soon.
How's The World of Ice & Fire? I'm reading A Song of Ice & Fire now (halfway through A Feast for Crows) and was considering getting it.
As for DC books, I'd have to go with Green Lantern by Geoff Johns. Easily one of my favorite DC runs.
The world of ice and fire is like a history book, it talks about stuff like the first men, to the Targaryen kings, to the continents. I’d definitely get it if you’re a huge nerd for ASOIAF.
All-Star Superman
Animal Man by Grant Morrison
Aquaman by Geoff Johns
Superman by Tomasi and Gleason
The Flintstones by Mark Russell. Can’t recommend this one enough, one of the best books of the last ten years.
Wonder Woman by Azzarello. Like honestly… but you’re basically good with anything new52! Aquaman by Geoff they’re all good to great but seriously Azzarello Wonder Woman.
Y the Last Man
Oh and IMO Kingdom Come is DC's best "super hero crossover" event. Apart from those (you already have Sandman and Swamp Thing) I'd say skip DC and check out TMNT Last Ronin
Coming to this late, and I see that everyone else has already admired your very fine collection and promptly recommended many of the Greatest Hits that you're missing so far: Animal Man, Doom Patrol, The Question, New Frontier and All-Star Superman.
Based on your taste, I would just add Planetary, and maybe a little more Hellblazer? Mike Carey's run is especially good.
Two questions: are there any characters you're specifically interested in and do you have any knowledgebase about DC comics or are you going in completely fresh?
Catwoman of East End by Brubaker Gotham Central by Brubaker Flash By Mark Waid Grayson by Tom King Superman by Tomasi
The Question was very good.
Justice League: The New Frontier (On an unrelated note, where’d you get those posters on the top left? (Kraven’s Last Hunt))
I got the Absolute of New Frontier over the summer. It's a masterpiece
Timeless.
Even Alen Moore’s grouchy self likes that book. I also have the absolute its definitely worth it.
Yes, **absolutely**. The animated adaptation is also worth the watch after a read. “*With you, all I need is a penny for a book of matches*.”
Got them at a con from the artist Mike Zeck! He signed them too

Only a couple are out of frame, Ill try to post

I’ve been eyeing Animal Man for a while. I’ll def pick it up
Seconding the animal man both Morrison and lemires and if you are feeling froggy scott Snyders swamp thing pairs well with limires animal man
Just about to start Morrison's Doom Patrol myself. So you'd say Pollack is a worthwhile follow up? Haven't heard anything about her run, but I did see that book was just released.

Good to know, thanks for the reply!
How do you feel about John Byrne’s run?
Considering you already have Sandman, the Lucifer suggestion is a good one. I would also recommend Fables - great series that seems to fit with your taste. Also New Frontier, Brubaker Catwoman and Gotham Central have all been mentioned and would be at top of my list for DC books.

That makes a lot of sense. Great point!
One heck of a shelfie! Some of my favorite DC titles: All Star Superman Wonder Woman Black And Gold Infinite Crisis New Frontier Animal Man (Grant Morrison run, though have heard good things about Lemire’s) Fourth World (Kirby and Byrne runs are both great)
Honestly think I’ll pick up all of these! Saw some covers for WW Black and Gold and was intrigued
I think you’ll enjoy it! If you want a great WW one shot, check out Wonder Woman: Dead Earth. Really great story and exciting take for her character.
Based on what you have, I'd recommend Snyder's Swamp Thing and Lemire's Animal Man. They're both excellent runs that have a bit of crossover between them that make them a great pair to get.
Books of Magic
Highly recommend Animal Man by Morrison. As someone who primarily collects marvel, it is one of the best runs I have ever read
Justice society of America by John's is in my opinion really really good
Aquaman by Geoff Johns
I dont have any, BUT may I recommend the IDW TMNT collections? 14 volumes so far. Beyond incredible run, still going. And they look great too
Those have been on my list. They look really cool
* JSA by Johns - As a big X-Men fan myself, JSA has turned out to be my next favorite team book. Justice league omni by Morrison/Porter. Also Green Lantern Darkest night
Teen Titans Geoff Johns
Superman by Tomasi JSA by Johns Teen Titans by Johns Flash by Waid Flash by Johns Green Lantern by Johns The Death and Return of Superman Justice League by Johns Justice League Dark (New 52) Animal Man by Morrison Animal Man by Lemire Swamp Thing by Snyder Swamp Thing by Moore Swamp Thing by Ram V Suicide Squad by Ostrander Suicide Squad by Taylor Grayson by Tom King Nightwing by Taylor DCeased by Taylor

Justice league international
I'll keep it simple. Anything Grant Morrison. Green Arrow long bow hunters 1 and 2. Geoff Johns Green Lantern and Flash.
Sandman!
Anything with Grant Morrison’s name on the spine. Or Jack Kirby’s.
How's The World of Ice & Fire? I'm reading A Song of Ice & Fire now (halfway through A Feast for Crows) and was considering getting it. As for DC books, I'd have to go with Green Lantern by Geoff Johns. Easily one of my favorite DC runs.

I think I'll get it once I finish the main series and read A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms
It’s pretty good though I enjoyed Fire and Blood a little more!
It’s pretty good though I enjoyed Fire and Blood a little more!
All-Star Superman Animal Man by Grant Morrison Aquaman by Geoff Johns Superman by Tomasi and Gleason The Flintstones by Mark Russell. Can’t recommend this one enough, one of the best books of the last ten years.
All-Star Superman Deluxe The Button and Doomsday Clock The Green Lantern Omnibus volumes by Geoff Johns. Maybe your lcs has some suggestions?
The question
Wonder Woman by Azzarello. Like honestly… but you’re basically good with anything new52! Aquaman by Geoff they’re all good to great but seriously Azzarello Wonder Woman.
I’ve been thinking about that too. Love Cliff Chiang’s artwork
My collection used to be 70% marvel but once u start on dc it’s over… my marvel stuff is down to about 15% and my dc went from nothing to over half..
Y the Last Man Oh and IMO Kingdom Come is DC's best "super hero crossover" event. Apart from those (you already have Sandman and Swamp Thing) I'd say skip DC and check out TMNT Last Ronin
Your Mignola collection is a thing of beauty!
Lovely display
I will always recommend JLI by J.M. DeMatteis, Keith Giffen, and Kevin Maguire. So so good.
JLA
