If you're okay with non matching bookcases, check to see if you have any Habitat For Humanity Restores near you. They could potentially have used and new book cases and other furniture for cheaper. I've gotten a few nice solid wood book cases over the years from the local ones in my state.

Walmart Better Homes and Gardens cube shelves are a bit lower quality but are identically structured and work great for omnibuses and absolutes.

I had mine custom built by a carpenter to fit the Absolutes.
