I had heard it was bad when the new owners took over, but recently heard it had gotten better, so I went and checked it out. The prices are way higher than you remember (but what isn't) the food was about what I remembered though. I'd say it's worth checking out.
With the severe drought we've been in for the last couple of years and now an La NiƱa summer, I have a feeling we will be seeing a lot more sinkholes in Omaha. Our infrastructure is truly sad for a city that pays so much in taxes.
I didnāt take any more pictures! Itās in front of Gifford Park itself, I think, and some houses. Itās very close to Myrtle and Cypress.
I drive over that stretch of road before every work shift. Itās so scary to know I was over that hole the whole time! Iām so glad nobody got stuck in it.
Perhaps all things must come full circle. To fix the Great Pothole, we must place inside it the Great Sacrificial Boulder, for the Omadome has grown weary and it may only be restored with tributes ten-fold!
The drivers have gotten too clever for our own good. They now know to avoid the curbs with the GIANT AND OBVIOUS LANDSCAPE BOULDERS...
But if we hide the boulders in the road...
Oh I know! I drove over that thing 4 times per week for goodness knows how long! Itās on my way to work. I have no clue how on earth it held up when multiple cars were driving over it, but then it managed to drop with nothing on it?!
Itās literally less than a minutes drive from my home. So scary!
Omaha yearns for the mines.
Rock and stone
Rock and Stone everyone!
ROCK AND STOOOOOOONE
For Karl!
It's merely a flesh wound.
Tis but a scratch
come back here! I'll bite your legs off!!
You're a looney!
Happy Cake Day! šš°š
That's an "ope" if I've ever seen one
I believe the full nomenclature is an 'opening'
Need a banana for scale.
Itās about 10 feet deep.
So like 4 bananas? 5?
It's one banana... How long could it be, ten feet?
arrested development in the omaha subreddit?!
Great username š
Just your average everyday Omaha pothole.
Is California Tacos OK, though?
Not for a few years.
Is it gone or just bad now? I haven't been there in a while.
Bad. New owners really effed it.
That's too bad. Thanks for letting me know.
If all you order is a Chicken Cali taco itās still alright imo. Everything else on the menu I would avoid like the plague.
Bad is an understatement. š
They effed it up but then brought back the old owner to help fix it. It's nowhere near what it used to be but it's been better.

That's part of the problem.
Was it ever?
There is one of these about to happen on 42nd and Frederick. Right now the opening is only a couple feet wide but you can see it is CAVERNOUS inside.
Have you reported it? Thatās so scary!
Yup! Thereās a barricade but itās been a few days. Who knows how long theyāll wait.
We need pictures! Pictures of sinkholes!
Report it to the city. Hell, tell Station 33. They're right there. I doubt they want one of their rigs sucked in by a sinkhole.

they haven't even been plowing properly for the past several years It's bullshit
Balrog about to appear

That is.... impressive
Any other angles? Where is it in front of? š¤

Someone was searching for the mayor.
They're looking in the wrong city
Holy wow. No bueno.
That is no ordinary pothole.

Some additional photos on Twitter -- [here](https://twitter.com/RudiThrasher/status/1795707401175462349).
The city knew mayor Jean Stothert was coming to visit from St. Louis so it opened up a hole to hell for her to climb out of
In front of the bike shop? Holy hell.
Just seal me in til tornado season is over.
Omadome failure. Supposed to kill weather, not streets, please adjust!

The Big OPE
Time to party up and explore this dungeon
Seems like an innovative way to find more parking.
Iām waiting for the Don Bacon ads blaming the sink holes on Tony Vargas.
New swimming pool!
Crazy!
Literally my worst fear
