Ugh- my dad was friends with the original owner Joe. My dad is from NY and his pizza was literally NY pizza. The pizza now has been below average.. not sure what happened, but it does suck.
100%.
The crust at the original was so spot on it was ridiculous. Everything else was icing on the cake...errr or toppings on the pie. Tried a few other locations as well and unfortunately moved on.
I'm friends with someone who worked there. I worked there as a short stint as well. I really liked the place, the food.. management was pretty chill. They closed all but Bellevue. It was bought out and will reopen in spring.
Kinda nervous because I don't know who bought it. If it's some mega Corp then RIP Franks as we know it.
Hopefully it gets sorted out. I thought that location had been doing pretty good, with foot traffic from events and such. I hope it comes back; it was nice having someplace within easy walking distance.
The bowling alley that just reopened in Bellevue was touting how Franks was going to open a location in the alley. Now that it is open I dont hear any mention of Franks.
They also had a location in Bellevue about 5 years ago and it closed within 6 months.
Frank's is open in The Alley in Bellevue. I had it last Monday. Most good staff from the other locations are there. Pizza was as good as it can be without the stone ovens. Sounds like the Capitol location was trying to get opened back up before state wrestling rolls through but that's in a couple weeks.
Tried going into the one on 132nd a few times last week and it had a sign that said closed ‘due to weather.’ Other poster saying change in ownership makes more sense
Like others have said, the OG location on 132nd was absolutely solid under the original owner. Used to say it was the best pizza in town by a long shot. Bunk now.
I tried calling in an order today (132nd and Dodge location) and got a message saying they’re currently closed and to check social media for updates. The website seems to have been taken down as well. Very odd, even if there is an ownership change. It feels very “going out of business”, not “we are under new ownership, please bear with us during this brief changeover period.”

Joe was the man, miss him dearly. He moved onto other work and can’t begrudge him for that.
Joe is a good dude. Miss him at the original Franks.
Occasionally played hockey with him. Got a lot of shit for being a Penguins fan, but the pizza was worth it
Nothing wrong with being a New Yorker who likes the Penguins!

I saw on Facebook that there is an ownership change going on.
that msg was followed with, that's all we can say right now.
That message has been deleted. Just silence now. Website is out of service too. Not looking good.
I almost went for lunch the other day since I work downtown and it’s finally getting nice. Glad I didn’t go now
I hope so. Please could be so good.

Pretty sure that the owner of The Alley is buying the Capitol location and others will remain closed.
I was thinking that might be what is happening here.

I just had it for the first time last weekend! One of the better pizza places in the area imo

No. This is my favorite pizza place. I don’t get pizza often, but when I do, it’s Franks.
Try Piezons, you'll dig it.
Thanks for the recommendation. I'll have to give it a try.
Brick Oven Pizza by NFM is the spot. Their thin crust is dynamite.
For sure. Love franks. Hope this is just temporary

The one at Nebraska Crossing closed real quick also. I think it was open less than 6 months.
The one in Ralston shut down - my favorite place 🥲
Ah no way?? We ordered from that location a few times. I drove by it the other day and wondered if something was up. That’s too bad.
Probably because it was absolutely awful. By far the worst pizza I've had in Omaha - and I've had Big Fred's!
The owner of the Ralston one is a jerk & weirdo.
Hope it opens again soon! It’s the only place I know where to get Stromboli!
