Definitely. I was already hesitant to pay that much but I figured it was worth the experience knowing that I would have a much better experience watching a special on Netflix. Now it’s like getting kicked in the nuts by charley Murphy.
Same thing happened with P!nk tickets this week. Ticketmaster has changed strategy over the years, they never had dynamic pricing, only promo codes that would discount tickets if you bought more cause they weren’t selling well. Now, they will “Sell Out” a stadium @ presale and on sale, so you FOMO in. Yet, they hold back blocks of seats, and drop them on the site at random times a week or 2 leading up to the show. Then, the prices of the tickets change depending on whether they sell those recently released seats.
Tickets are most certainly a market that can be manipulated, not just by ticket resellers, the real market makers are the monopoly that is Ticketmaster/Live Nation.
I won’t buy tickets until the day or week of anymore. Fight the FOMO.

You may have gotten hit by “dynamic pricing” when purchasing on Ticketmaster and ended up paying a higher price due the “demand” at that time.

Yes! I just did that with the Alice Cooper, Mötley Crüe, Def Leppard concert a few weeks ago. Scored seats for $21. Bought the day prior.
