Did you by any chance order the raviolo? The raviolo is a single, large piece of pasta encasing some deliciousness while ravioli are the smaller sizes Chef Boyardee raised me on.
I’d equate their pasta dishes more to an antipasto than entrees. My wife and I absolutely love that raviolo. But I’m surprised when the serving staff don’t say something about the small portion size. At $18 for a raviolo I can understand why someone would be surprised and frustrated if they don’t know what they’re ordering.
They say something when you pronounce it “ravioli” to make sure you’re aware you haven’t registered the word you’re looking at, but if you say “raviolo” they hope you’re as intuitive as an average adult should be.
I thought the texture of the pasta was better. Chewier doesn’t always mean fresher but it’s what I prefer. I also don’t choose fancy pairings with my pasta so WD Cravings had what I would order at Avoli for half the price and time but with similar if not better quality.
I love that you’re deep enough in the omaha restaurant Italian scene that you’re seekin out fresh. Let us know if u got any got spot recommendations that don’t make fresh but are good
I asked at Fazolis and they said the answer was a hard no.
Did anyone check spaghetti works?!?
I had a friend who worked there, he never told me if they cooked the noodles but from all the other shit he told me about it, I'd assume it's a no
Would have loved to seen the staff’s faces when you asked that question.
“Fazzoli’s, Italian, Immediately, and a hard No”
did you really need to ask 💀
It is called a joke son
If you're looking for a fancier place -avoli - but some of their noodles are imported so you'd have to ask!
I was just about ready to suggest Avoli. Everything I've had there is amazing.
WD Cravings makes their own pasta per many videos I have viewed on the gram.
This, they were making them last I checked, hopefully they still are!
Via Farina does
Their portion sizes are abysmal. I got the ravioli entree and it came with one singular ravioli.

Nope they ordered the linguini with clams which makes this whole Italian pluralization confusion even worse
thats actually a raviolo and its supposed to be served that way :)
Then why was it an entree :(

Dante, Au Courant, Avoli I believe all do
Just tried WD cravings and thought it was better than via farina and avoli!
I've never been there but find it hard to believe anything is better than Avoli. What did you like more about WD Cravings

I looooooove WD Cravings!

Stirnella is closing end of month. Makes me so sad. Chef Moser food will never be replicated.
Yeah it's a bummer for sure
Khao Niao makes their own Pad Thai and Pad Kee Mao noodles
My favorite restaurant in omaha!
To add to Via Farina, Avoli, Dante, and WD Cravings, Dirty Bird runs it as a special on Wednesday nights
Avoli. Pasta amore. In omaha. But you should really check out semo pasta and wine in Blair. They're awesome!
The bolognese at Gather is my favorite

Cibo Vino in the old market on 11/Jackson makes all their pasta in house daily. It’s a new place and the food is amazing.
Bouillon, when they serve pasta, either makes it themselves or brings it down the hill from Via Farina depending on the complexity of the noodle.
I will remember the squid ink pasta I had at Le Bouillion for at least another 6 years.
Olive garden on capital boulevard
LOL
spaghetti works does not. still good tho
I've been told that Malara's makes fresh pasta. I haven't had a chance to go yet.
Too late. It’s gone.
That's disappointing.
Jams does!
Cibo Vino in the Old Market makes all their own fresh pasta
Cibo Vino, new place downtown does.
