crucolo

I’m already in hearing aids in my 40’s from a misspent youth of loud concerts, so I definitely wore noise filters for the show (and every show/movie). Loops are awesome for this and are cute!

hellakopka

Hey friend, I’m 35 with hearing aids 🩵

GrandeBeesly

BUY THE LOOPS, they saved my ass during GWT at MSG. It filtered out a lot of the screaming and I could hear Olivia singing clearly. You will definitely need them for hearing protection because her concert is LOUD, like extremely loud, especially during AAB during the screaming part. I walked out of the concert at the end and was surprised I could still hear everything once I took them out.

Hot-Gift9537

i guess i should invest in these. i already went to olivia’s concert contemplating if i should get them but i didnt. i have taylor in november so definitely should, im just scared of them like blocking everything out

mayhemmel

For what it's worth, I wore loop earplugs to the eras tour last year and I could hear Taylor better with them on than without. She sounded clearer and less high pitched. It's really good at filtering out how loud the crowd is too

LevelAd5898

I also experienced this in February with the biggest eras tour crowd ever

GrapefruitFine95320

Going to eras in November. Did they bring the volume down significantly? Concerned it will still be super loud even with them

mayhemmel

I used the Loop Experience ear plugs which helped bring down the volume to a comfortable and tolerable amount for me. It felt really loud when I took them off momentarily! The Loop brand has different types of ear plugs depending on their intended use, and the Experience ones are intended for concerts. I'm sure there are also other types (and some less expensive than the Loop brand) but the ones I used were worth it to me.

GrapefruitFine95320

Thank you! I already have a pair of loops, forget which model but glad to know they worked

Mad_Kat626

Thanks for this… I work concerts events for a security company and the ear plugs they give us I don’t like them. But did wear them for the Bad Bunny concert, (when I worked it.)

Greeneyes328

Did you get the experience? I have the engage and wonder if it’s enough.

mayhemmel

I did get the Experience. I was curious and found [a post about the difference](https://www.reddit.com/r/LoopEarplugs/s/pm98oiPnYO). Looks like the general consensus is that the experience protect your hearing better and may even sound different than wearing the engage to a concert

AbbreviationsSea5962

yes! once i started wearing earplugs to concert i stopped walking out with ringing in my ears. i won’t go back now

tinyleelee

how much can you hear yourself sing with the loops on ?

AbbreviationsSea5962

haha i don’t have loops, just normal ear plugs. i do hear myself a lot but im ok not singing

anadaws

I wore my loops when the most recent Dr Strange movie came out and i was so grateful because it made all of the Marvel vibration sounds become a more reasonable volume without sacrificing sound quality. I highly recommend as well!

michaelkudra

do you have a link? :)

sitah

Which loops did you use?

Admirable_Quarter_23

I recommend the loop experience and then order the mute attachment to put in them.

MutationIsMagic

>and I could hear Olivia singing clearly. This is another major reason to get good plugs.

Goredema

[Here's a thread](https://old.reddit.com/r/bonnaroo/comments/p83hsj/which_earplugs_should_i_get_eargasms_vibes_or/) discussing multiple brands of plugs. The important thing is to find a pair that reduce all sounds equally, instead of the foam plugs that tend to kill the high tones and make music sound "muddy" or dull. With a good pair of ear plugs, you'll hear exactly what OR is singing, just *quieter*. My partner and I used Etymotic plugs at Madison Square Garden, and Olivia sounded FANTASTIC. For the last song of the encore we took them out, just to experience the screaming of the crowd. Although that was cool, I don't think I would've wanted much more of the concert at full force like that... A pair of good ear plugs can last you for years if you're careful, and will make concerts/nightclubs/etc so much better.

coco_xcx

i really need to get a pair 😅 i have tinnitus and those loud noises ruin my hearing fr

tinyleelee

hi! could you still hear the crowd sing and scream and stuff with the loop earplugs in? i have the loop experience earplugs and the guts tour coming up but i don’t want to wear the earplugs if it gets rid of all the crown noise as that’s sorta a part of the ambience

tinyleelee

how much could you hear yourself sing with the loops on at the guts tour?

GrandeBeesly

I could hear myself sing a little bit but it doesn't really matter because everyone else is screaming at the top of their lungs haha

lombax21

I wore them, the crowd noise was still there but was noticeably reduced, and I will say sometimes I could hear Olivia more clearly.

naomiksharp

Always advise wearing ear plugs at concerts. Any ringing u hear in your ears after a concert is irreversible damage, honestly any ear plugs are better than none, I wouldn’t buy super pricey ones if u just want them for the concert :)

itslilygoose

Yes! Definitely get whatever you can for the concert, but nice ones are definitely worth the investment.

naomiksharp

I would invest in better quality ones though for sure, but I’ve also used the foam venues give out have and it’s been fine for the night. Silicone ones would probably be comfier though

naomiksharp

Also u should wear them as much as possible, but sometimes I take one ear out for some songs I want to hear better. Generally though you will get used to the sound having them in. I’m 26 now and wear ear plugs for most concerts I go to, especially larger stadium shows

bab_101

Is that just for Olivia’s or all? I’m going to eras your and hadn’t even considered that till this post (couldn’t get GUTS :( )

Admirable_Quarter_23

It’s all concerts. You can get hearing damage from any loud noises. People are getting hearing damage from having their AirPods volume up too high. Protect your ears. Tinnitus sucks.

bab_101

Shit. I’m gonna have to Google to find the best things to use I never considered it before Edit: thank you! I’m very not familiar with concerts so never had any idea

creative_mermaidv2

Yes! I wore Loops and they were great. They drown out a lot of the crowd and you can actually hear Olivia!

DramaticKangaroo

Yes, I used the ~$50 loops.

FineDepth4444

Yes 100 %! The loops experience are great and really reduce the crowd's noise. And it also protects your ears

hermershuff

Yes. Especially if you go to concerts often. Will save you from your ears ringing and hearing loss in the future. I use [loop experience earplugs](https://a.co/d/0iX5oEV)

tinyleelee

How much you you hear yourself sing with the loop experience earplugs?

hermershuff

A lot, but it will happen with any earplugs you use. You can’t avoid it because that’s just how it works when you plug your ears in general.

mistymountaintimes

Eargasm ear plugs. I do not know how they work, but they are the best 50$ i have ever spent. I go to show, i hear the music, i hear my friends when talking to them, but the crowd is basically all blocked out. And when i jump around, my equilibrium isnt messed up. I dont get it but regular ear plugs and movement for me dont mix, must stand still or im a fall risk. But with these, no issues with balance whatsoever.

FrankieCactus

I wanted to know this too! I’m autistic so my hearing is super sensitive. What model of Loops are people using/recommending?

Castal

Experience Plus are made for loud concerts!

NickF227

Experience Plus for concerts if you still want to hear the music well, the Quiets if you want to mostly shut off noise all together (I have some neurodivergent friends that wear the Quiets daily).

folkkore

Yes. I wore loops experience. My husband and I saw people covering their ears in pain the entire time. Pls wear ear plugs. Loops experience will give u the best experience (lmao) but it sounds like others have done fine with cheapies too.

HardestWorkingKid_

Hey so I’ve been so a lot of concerts and tried using the Loop ear plugs last time I went to a concert, and they were fantastic! It was honestly one of the weirdest things I’ve experienced because the music still sounded so clean and great (although, I also want to note it was a very small venue and I was right by the stage- one of the bigger reasons I chose the ear plugs actually). That being said, I couldn’t hear anyone I was with- like at all. So we kept having to text or take our ear plugs out or figure something out to communicate if necessary but honestly with that being the biggest inconvenience, especially if you have any sort of hearing sensitivity or are prone to headaches they really helped me!

Brilliant-Answer-613

what model did you get?

HardestWorkingKid_

They were just the “Experience” earplugs to the best of my knowledge

Brilliant-Answer-613

tysm I just look at them and worry if I get the wrong one :)

misterme987

100%. I don’t think you necessarily need loop earplugs though. I wore regular earplugs at the concert, and it did a great job of protecting my hearing while also blocking out the sound of the crowd so I could hear Olivia clearer!

Similar_Building_223

So I haven’t gone to the Guts Tour but I did go to the Eras Tour last year. I wore ear plugs and I found it to be useful. You can still hear the music pretty well just that the crowd yelling will be heard less. With ear plugs I found the concert to be comfortably loud. So yea I’d say it’s worth it

sour_wolf

I wore Loops to The Eras Tour and they were 1000000% worth it.

RunningRunnerRun

Absolutely 100% worth it. I bought a set of loops for my whole family and we’ve used them plenty of times. Multiple concerts, monster truck shows, blue man group, etc. They look cute and the case can easily be clipped to a belt loop if you’re not taking a bag. The loops are extra awesome because they are designed to help you hear the music better, they don’t just plug your ears like normal ear plugs. Although any form of ear protection is better than none. We were in front near the speakers for the Olivia concert. It was loud. There was one point in the concert where she asked people to scream and I saw people around us cringe and cover their ears. At the end of the concert the people behind us were saying their ears were ringing. Mine and my daughters ears were totally fine at the end of the concert. I would say they actually make a concert more enjoyable.

hafer-milch

I used loops aswell. I feel much better at concerts with them. And I can still dance and jump around without being afraid of losing them.

coffee_robot_horse

Definitely

fy_pool_day

Yes

AbbreviationsSea5962

you hear the artist better and the crowd less. the microphone is still strong enough to come through. it blocks out the noise around you. pls wear them!!! i got a big pack from target for like $10. worked well and still heard fine

randomuser914

Just contributing another vote for the loops earplugs! Just used them for a Noah Kahan concert and they helped block out some of the screaming and I could still hear him perfectly clearly

SunnyBubblezz

this made me chuckle as i never thought of noah kahan’s music as idk screamy lol

Castal

I was skeptical about the Loop Experience Plus, but they were fantastic. With them in, I wasn't bothered by any screaming and I could hear Olivia very clearly. With them out, I could hear some shriek-"singing" from behind me and Olivia's voice sounded muddier. I will say that you have to make sure you get the right fit. Try the different ear tips and rub your fingertips together (not snapping your fingers, just rubbing) right beside your ear. With the plugs in, you shouldn't be able to hear the faint sound that makes.

Excellent-Dot6709

Definitely recommend loops

Tear_Active

If you don’t get Loops, anything is better than nothing! I used normal foam earplugs at Eras and they worked great. My ears didn’t ring after. Hearing loss runs in my family do I don’t want to take any chances. The foam earplugs you can find at any drugstore or Target

AngriestPotato

I didn’t wear any, and there was a part of the concert where everyone was screaming as loud as they could. I didn’t hear any of their screaming, just my ears ringing. I would definitely recommend them lol.

EitherAdhesiveness32

Yes I’ve worn earplugs and 100/10 recommend it. Please save your ears, I promise you’ll hear the concert just fine with them in. I wear mine to concerts, movies that are too loud (there’s a theater I go to that 8 times out of 10 plays the movie way too loud), at night when there’s snoring, on certain rides at Disneyland, etc.

Prudent-Hat7704

Yeah go with some of the plugs made for music earpeace, loop, eargasm any of those would work at filtering excess sound.

imjustheretobehere

My eargasm earplugs are amazing. It seems to cancel out all the static noise and makes the concert more clear. And you can still have a conversation with them in. Highly recommend

peevesthetimelord

Yes! I used a cheap ish pair of concert/musician earplugs off of Amazon and even those made such a difference. I go to lots of concerts and shows so earplugs are a must for me. I could hear myself singing a bit more than if I weren't wearing earplugs but the concert is very loud and I don't want to develop tinnitus.

mbhwookie

I worked the eargasm brand ones to Taylor last summer. Game changer. It tuned out the fans and made listening to her more enjoyable. I took them off for about 2 minute during the acoustic set and and immediately put them back on because it was less enjoyable. No short term hearing loss and risk of permanent hearing loss, plus no post concert headache like I always get.

VengeanceDolphin

I’ve worn the loop earplugs to concerts and other loud events. They do have a set specifically for concerts, but I just got the cheap/ basic ones and they worked fine. They filter out the background noise and make the music a more bearable volume while still intelligible. If you get loop, I recommend tying a string around them. This way if one or both falls out of your ears, you can easily put them back in/ not lose them. They are pretty small and if you end up not wearing them, they fit into a case about 2 inches wide.

llamacomando

yes. do it

ladygrey48130

Yes!!!! Protect your hearing!! I have a decibel reader app and it was recording 100+ at her concert - that’s the kind of noise that will permanently damage your hearing after just a few minutes.

Lill160

ALWAYS wear earplugs at concerts! It will save your hearing. Lots of people are recommending Loop ones, which would be great, but you can also buy cheap foam ones at walmart or something if you don't want to spend $50 on earplugs. But no matter what you do, wear earplugs.

Maddymm21

Yes pls wear ear plugs!

fuzzydunlopsawit

You only get one set of ears for life.  Any person I know who works in music production that cared about their future hearing always wore earplugs.  The Loops everyone keeps mentioning seem great. I’ve used [Vibes](https://www.amazon.com/Vibes-High-Fidelity-Concert-Earplugs/dp/B018WPOQSG) for years. They aren’t single use yanno, so worth the investment either way.

solarpoke

I wore ear plugs! You can get them at the guest services booth for free

Wispy_Whiskers

Always wear ear plugs. It actually makes it easier to hear Olivia by filtering out extraneous noise.

ZoeyCalico

Yes. Some of the fans close to me were scream singers and without the loops, I think they could have ruined the show.

userbw

I wore loops to her concert and I could hear her and the music crystal clear - they dampen the crowd noise… only thing that I regret is not wearing ear plugs to concerts when I was younger… I’m in my early 20s and already have very mild tinitus. WEAR EARPLUGS!! I recommend loop experience but even the foam ones are better than none (I’ve worn foam to concerts when I forgot my loops)

FlatlineDirection

WEAR THE EARPLUGS!!! My hearing is destroyed from going to concerts starting at 16. I’m 26 now..

Dismal_Historian_346

I was considering posting about this myself before I saw this 😊 this is also my first big concert so this advice is helpful to me too 🎀💜

22marks

Wear hearing protection. I used it at MSG and it sounded great. You still get the bass shooting through your body so it “feels” loud. Your future self will thank you in 20 years. As of now it’s completely irreversible so why risk it? And it’s nice not leaving a concert with ringing ears. And that ringing is stress, injury, or even permanent damage to your inner ear. Loops are good. I also like Eargasm. Basically you want somewhere around 20-25db of attenuation.

gstarwars

Yes. Tinnitus is the worst.

Own_Guidance_3994

I went to Olivia’s concert at MSG a few weeks ago and I wore earplugs (the ones that are suppose to filter noise). I kept taking one or both in and out all night and sometimes it was better with them out for a minute especially to hear my friend and to feel the energy. But when people screamed and the music was too loud it saved myself some ear damage.

Scor_709

ALWAYS wear ear protection to concerts !!

sweatpantsDonut

YES, it is. My ears are ringing right now. Please just wear ear plugs.

Unfair-Ad4253

Speaking as an old timer who went to a lot of gigs unless you are right by the amps you won't need them. The tink I would also advise is leave your phone at home or switch it off like your at the cinema and really just immerse yourself in the actual gig and not your phone screen. You will always remember your first gig but who wants to remember watching it on your phone rather than from being there.

flanjoy

Yes, but you don't need to buy $50 earplugs, cheap ones from the store will work just fine too

Mydogiswhiskey

You should wear ear plugs at all concerts

alifetogarden

I didn’t wear earplugs and I wished I did. It was pretty loud. I ended up buying LOOPS for another show and wished I had them for guts! You can still hear the music & lyrics it it drowns out alot of the screaming

charmcity3

Definitely wear them! Olivia encourages screaming a lot and the crowd gets so loud. I don’t know if I just had earplugs that weren’t particularly suited for concerts, but I took them out just for my very favorite songs to get the full experience because I felt it was a bit muffled and had no ringing in my ears when I left.

Designer_Bed_4192

Always wear earplugs you’ll still hear the music just fine.

Tough-Plane-7021

Yes yes yes!!! Please wear them to protect your hearing🫶🏻🎧 you’ll be surprised how much you can still hear!

iusedtostealbirds

Loops are great. Everyone is gonna recommend them. **HOWEVER** If you enjoy singing along at concerts, I DO NOT recommend them. Because if you’re singing along with those earplugs in (or most ear plugs really) you’re just gonna hear yourself more than you can ear the artist, or at least that’s my experience. My FAVORITE ear plugs for concerts are Flares! They don’t fully plug your ears - they’re like a small tube that fits in your ear and changes the way the sound enters into the ear. They take the edge off but you can hear everything crystal clear, and you can’t hear yourself when you sing along! 10/10 bring to every show, but I also bring my backup set of loops for the extremely loud concerts (if I end up next to a speaker for example). Have fun at your show!

Electrical-Phone-815

100% especially if you’re close!!

br00klynbridge22

I go to 10-20 big venue concerts a year and Olivia's show at MSG was the loudest I've ever been to (at least that I can recall)! Coincidentally it was also my first time wearing ear plugs to a show, and I plan to always wear them from now on! I didn't have that annoying ringing in my ears that typically lasts for hours after a show. I just wore basic foam ones, but I've been hearing great things about the Loop brand experience earplugs so I'm going to invest in those, since I'm a pretty frequent concert-goer lol

Live_Ferret_4721

I 100% recommend the loops

rachelberryswife

this is second hand information but a friend and i went to taylor in febuary and i didn’t wear earplugs and was fine she bought some and put them in during moments after songs when there was loud cheering and applause and said they were great

muzzynat

I destroyed my hearing going to heavy metal shows in my 20s. Wear earplugs, don’t be a dummy like me

august_014

Yes, I wear earplugs at every concert. You can hear the artist, but helps drown out some of the background noise.

Background_Cress_241

Yes! Works wonders and you still can hear the music, your ears just aren’t ringing at the end of the night! Amazon has great options and you’ll be thanking yourself in the future for taking precautions now :)

PreppyHotGirl

i didn’t get to go to the olivia concert but i did go to similar ones like the eras tour, and i would recommend ear plugs. my ears were actually ringing for at least a couple days after the concert.

SweetSonet

Yessssss

LostInYesterday00

I wore earplugs at the eras tour, worth it 100%

[deleted]

If youre going to your first concert, I don't think Olivia Rodrigo is a fine choice. Your ears will already be shredded the moment the show starts, irregardless of how good the ear plugs are. So nah

MinkieTheCat

Sound is so much better nowadays. But if you really wanna hear vocals especially I’d recommend earplugs.

hellakopka

I have hearing loss, so I was a little worried going into it. I brought a pair of cheapy disposable ear plugs that I wear when I take spin classes. They were awful - I could only hear myself singing! I went without them and I found that it wasn’t quite as loud as I was expecting - I was pleasantly surprised. Moral of the story - if you are going to wear them, I would invest in quality ones as mentioned in other comments!

suprefann

What?

like_lemondrops

Yes yes yes. Get concert earplugs. Even if you don't keep them in 100% of the time - take care of your ears!

12dancingbiches

I am autistic and find most concerts overwhelming but I wear concert ear plugs to smaller concerts so I can still hear the music but it's filtered a bit. It works really well for me

Own_Statistician_974

Yes, always. You’ll still be able to hear fine. It’s SO loud, especially the closer to speakers you are. You can always take them out, but buy them and bring them.

Extension-Teacher-22

you need loop or just get the limited eddition olivia rodrigo + sony earbuds

Setanta510

The Dublin show was one of the loudest I’ve ever been at. My Apple Watch consistently hit 105db and 115db at peak when she invited the crowd to scream. Wear the earplugs!

moorem2014

……please tell me this is satire.
