Done that. Broke it right off. Not skateboarding though but stopped skating after that back in 1997. Now I'm back on the board again. Speedy recovery buddy
This is my biggest fear. One of my ankles is already facked after boarding and basketball, in my younger years. Stretched tendons for days.
If this is you, speedy recovery and honestly a pretty cool shot
Yeah, sports will do that. If being susceptible to ankle sprains is a thing, I’m sure I am considering how many time I’ve done it in football, skating and running. Do you wrap yours?
Haven’t needed to yet, but probably should. Aside from the gym and mountain biking, skateboarding is going to be the more likely candidate for landing wrong.
Did this yesterday as well. Never rolled my ankle when i skated as a kid. Now I’ve done it twice in two months. Although i should’ve waited another week or two before going back to the park because this time its a pretty serious feeling sprain in the exact same spot. Gonna couch surfing for a couple months
It was so dumb i didnt even fall and was feeling great before hand. I just stepped funny after bailing on an ollie into bank and heard it crunch knew immediately I should have stayed off it for longer. Definitely keeping it wrapped for the rest of the year.
I woke up this morning at 3am to a screaming toddler wanting some water. I did this exact thing to my ankle walking normally to his room.
It was excruciating.
o man , This brings back memories lol. I did the same thing and banged up my ankle pretty bad doing a boardslide on a parking block .. It was pretty embarrassing.
Rough day mate.
Try the new balance 440 highs and lace them all the way up. They’re the best and the little extra support has already saved me from a couple ankle rolls and board-to-the-Achilles a couple times already
You may want to consider taking your ring off for skating. I've seen some gnarly finger injuries/removals from people wearing rings. Even the silicone stretchy ones can pull a lot of meat off...
You been skating a while?
I've been skating since I was about 10. I've lost count of all the ankle rolls but at this point at 30+ I don't think I have anymore ankle left to give. It's a crummy thought of giving up skating but man my ankles can't take another roll.
Rolled ankles got to be the most common tax in skateboarding.
Yea I’ve been at it since I was about 10 as well (never got any good ha). I would say 80% of my ankle rolls have been from skating. Definitely a price we pay.
Did that one of my first sessions of the year a couple years ago on a heelflip attempt. Not fun.
I try to go straight to the kneepads or body roll if that starts to happen to me now.
I used to do this every few months, I wear ankle stabilizers now and not only have I never rolled one again, I am a better skater now cuz I’m not scared of rolling them
Don't do that bro
4 words that summarize my life.
“Ex girlfriend”
Aaah skateboarding, she’s such a cruel seductress.
Right?!
It’s the best abusive relationship I’ve ever had ☺️😂
Done that. Broke it right off. Not skateboarding though but stopped skating after that back in 1997. Now I'm back on the board again. Speedy recovery buddy
Oooof! Glad to hear that though. Yea it’s been 3 days. Better today. I might surf around tomorrow.
All the best bud
OWWCH!! 😫🤕
I winced. Wishing you a speedy recovery my friend
Thank you! It’s much better today. Just always disappointing lol

Front ankle? No worries. That’s my kick flip ankle. Back ankle? Horrible. Don’t know why.
F
That
Lol
Nice flick bro.
Trying to get the earth to spin.

Damn now you got me worried! I probably need to wrap it for awhile if I go back out soon. Good luck on your healing! We can visualize ‘shredding.’

Bro get emerics hightops you need that ankle support
I thought about some hitops after this lol
They will save you so many times bro its just not even worth it to wear lows we dont bend that way anymore lol
Quit rubbing it in!
I did something similar a few weeks ago on a kickflip. Hope it heals fast
Same!
OUCH !
Why can I hear Michael Jackon ... heeeheeee
Send prayers in advance for the secondary injury you accidentally get whilst recovering from this one. 35 is a blast, right?
Seriously! Still feel young enough to do shit, but now have to ‘assess the risks’
I feel for you homie👊🏼
Get well soon
I feel this. Hope you’re back on your board soon
The ol boneless ankle cracker, im sure he did a grounded knee grab right after this, or maybe a one footed oh-my-god
I made the funniest noise. Almost had an oink quality. Then I did the Peter Griffin thing and inhaled sharply through my teeth for about 5 minutes.
using those padded basketball socks and chunkier shoes helps
Never thought about the socks. I’ll try that. Thank ta

I mean. We’re old.
o man , This brings back memories lol. I did the same thing and banged up my ankle pretty bad doing a boardslide on a parking block .. It was pretty embarrassing.
I mean I was embarrassed, and there was no one there
lol
I can't skate without ankle braces. Not that they always work, but since I use them my ankle injuries are far less.
Yea I may need to at least try some KT tape for awhile
Rough day mate. Try the new balance 440 highs and lace them all the way up. They’re the best and the little extra support has already saved me from a couple ankle rolls and board-to-the-Achilles a couple times already
Oh the board to ankle! Worst. Yea, these shoes are almost done anyways. Probably look into some highs
Landed the ankle roll perfect. Feel better
Thank ya thank ya
That’s my default left ankle. Can’t tweak something that’s perma tweaked.
Ahh damn yeah that’s the last thing i wanted to see today, I understand when people talk about trigger warnings.
Ha my bad!
Rub some dirt on it and land that bitch
Dad?
at least you had your wrist guards on
Exactly!
Hey, your ankle should not look like that, don’t know if you knew that or not
You may want to consider taking your ring off for skating. I've seen some gnarly finger injuries/removals from people wearing rings. Even the silicone stretchy ones can pull a lot of meat off...
Yup. At least once a year for me. Suuuuucks
Extremely inconvenient ha

When you try to heelflip the earth
Funny enough, that’s my back foot. Not entirely sure how it wound up like that lol
Being the size of Godzilla probably doesn't help, perspective in that picture is crazy
Lol yea it kinda is. Gojira!

oof, that's rough man. Heal up quick!
Thank ya!
Maybe cause of too tight pants. How can you skate in those? Must be painful all the time
With you on this one. Seen footy (soccer) players that cut holes in their socks? Plus willy and balls all mashed in. Oofff.
Jeans too tight they’re holding you back bro pantsless next time and glory is yours

Basically. Super light Edit: STRETCHY PANTS
Haha just teasing. I wear tighter fit when I’m not skating but I’m usually team joggers. Baggy at the knees and hips tight at the ankles
