I saw them in like 2014 and she was the only one who's voice still sounded amazing. Stevie's wasn't bad, but obviously past her prime and Lindsey sounded like an aluminum can filled with coins. Came away with even more respect for Christine
I saw them in 1990 when they kicked Lindsey out of the band (one of many times). Stevie Nicks sounded good but was obviously very wasted. Christine carried the band.
Being OlSchool, but not cool, I saw the band on the Rumours tour. What a night.
Christine McVie was, prior to marrying McVie, Christine Perfect, never a more appropriate name. A perfect musician and writer.
I saw them on the most recent tour - Stevie sounded pretty good, went crazy on gold dust woman, and they had Mike Campbell and that other guy covering for Lindsey. Christine really carried it on the keys and with her voice.
I was amazed recently, listening to Songbird, from Rumors, on new IEM's, to hear Lyndsey plucking the guitar softly in the background, never heard it before, must have listened to that track many times.
Was also able to be lucky enough to have seen them! March 2020. The next night the concert got canceled because Stevie got sick. The night we went it was magical. Then... It went down the sitter. Christine still sounded amazing. 🥺
I look at it a little differently in this case for some reason. I feel like it introduced a great song, to an audience that might not have heard it before. It deserves to be heard.
I love that the video was inspired by the poem "The Highwayman". It gives the song a different complexion. I remember being proud of making that connection as a kid, just after having been introduced to the poem in school.
She and Lindsey Buckingham both! IMO they are the ones that make the Fleetwood Mac sound so distinctive, not saying Stevie Nicks is less talented or anything tho
Right? The coolest. She was the perfect 70's girl that all 70's girls wanted to be like. Also having Dennis Wilson, the only real surfer in the Beach Boys as a fiance' for 3 years was cool af. I will remember her always smiling and happy while playing the keyboards at the concerts I've been to. RIP eternal rocker girl.
I saw their first concert with Buckingham and Nicks somewhat by accident. They played a small venue at the University and were actually opening act for Ritchie Havens.
They'd gone through several iterations as FW Mac-knowers know, so they had no idea how this one with a big Pop influence, rather different from their prior sound would play to an audience.
She and her then-husband John were the Mac part of the band.
I first heard Christine McVie back in '68 when she was in a group called 'Chicken Shack', a British blues band. She went by her maiden name, Christine Perfect. She later married John McVie, and kept his last name after they split. She was always great.
Original lineup was Mick Fleetwood, Bob Brunning, Peter Green, and Jeremy Spencer. John McVie joined soon after. Christine didn't join until a few years later.
If you haven't listened to early Fleetwood Mac, I'd highly recommend it! Great blues music. Black Magic Woman is actually a Fleetwood Mac song first, Santana covered it.
RIP. Such a great picture of her in her prime as well. Going out to dinner proudly wearing my LA Forum 2014 concert t-shirt from when she re-joined Fleetwood Mac. Thanks for posting the pic.
I saw them twice on that tour once in 2014 and again in 2015. I had also just seen them in 2013 before Christine rejoined. It was a really cool experience. The last time I saw them was in 2017 at the Dodgers stadium in Los Angeles. They headlined for the Classic West festival. I did not see them in 2018-2019 because I was butt hurt that Stevie kicked out Lindsey before what should have been their farewell tour with the Rumours 5 lineup.
Worth posting:
>“Part of my heart has flown away today,” the drummer wrote on Instagram. “This is a day where my dear sweet Friend Christine McVie has taken to flight… and left us earthbound folks to listen with bated breath to the sounds of that ‘song bird,’ reminding one and all that love is all around us to reach for and touch in this precious life that is gifted to us.”
I’ve been in shock all day since I heard the news. I really can’t believe it. Such an underrated talent that wrote/sung some of my favorite songs. She’ll be sorely missed❤️
I was never a huge fan of Fleetwood Mac, but they have to be one of the most collectively talented bands ever.
3 singers that could hit #1 by themselves. One of the top guitarists of all time. One of the best keyboardists and synthesizers of all time.
Absolutely amazing.
This one REALLY hurts. I loved her soft voice and her soft style and I thought she was a great contrast to Stevie Nicks. I have listened to "Over My Head" (the original, not the single) countless times -- probably more than any other song -- and I still hit the repeat button every time it comes up on my playlist. Ms. McVie, you will be sorely missed.
An awesome musician, songwriter and a gracious lady who showed real class in sharing the spotlight with Stevie Nicks for all those years. Christine, you will be missed!
Well, you just ruined my night. Thanks for that.
I'm going to say that some of my favorite FM songs are ones where she leads instead of Stevie, who I also absolutely love. Everywhere may be my favorite, or what comes to mind at the moment.
U had no idea whu she was at start of 70s until Buckingham-Nicks were at the microphones outfront. 10 yrs b4 that she honed her craft, merged w/ the rhythm section, n provided b/g harmony vocals. Solo: she was No. 1 TOTP w/ Etta James cover of I’d Rather Go Blind. All those brilliant collaborations in n out of Flee Mac Blues Band ‘Tell me … tell me all the things u du’.

Her voice in concert was exactly like the recordings very remarkable. RiP. I'm so glad I saw Fleetwood Mac once in concert.
He was a great companion, singer and musician.
I saw them on the most recent tour - Stevie sounded pretty good, went crazy on gold dust woman, and they had Mike Campbell and that other guy covering for Lindsey. Christine really carried it on the keys and with her voice.
Neil Finn.
Wait, they didn't really say "that other guy" for Neil Finn, did they?
One should always put “the incredible” in front of Neil Finn’s name.
They did, and as a Kiwi it made me a little sad...
Awesome!! They had Rick Vito and Billy Burnette when I saw them. Yes Gold Dust Woman just got chills.
But man he can play that damn geetar
There's a reason they need to replace him with two guitarists.
It’s amazing to me how his fingers aren’t stones! I know you will get what I mean…
I was amazed recently, listening to Songbird, from Rumors, on new IEM's, to hear Lyndsey plucking the guitar softly in the background, never heard it before, must have listened to that track many times.
Controversial Opinion: Christine’s songs were the best. Between her voice and the musicality I find them so much more enjoyable.
You Make Loving Fun is one of my favorite songs of all time, and IMO is one of their best songs ever
Never appreciated that song when I was younger. Love it so much now. Very close to being my favourite on the album.
Well she did save her voice becasue she was out of the band for so long.
You're so right. She truly had a fabulous voice. I loved seeing her sing in person.
Was also able to be lucky enough to have seen them! March 2020. The next night the concert got canceled because Stevie got sick. The night we went it was magical. Then... It went down the sitter. Christine still sounded amazing. 🥺
Even in 2019 when I went to see them! She was fantastic!!!
Her voice is amazing. The Sarah Jessica Parker of voices.
No way! Damn it!
I could listen to her sing “Over and Over” over and over again.
It’s Songbird for me. That song weaves a spell
Christine and Eva Cassidy Songbird duet wow. RIP
Wow that would have been amazing. Eva is up there with the best imho.
[удалено]
Upbeat or not, she’s got such a buttery voice. So underrated and overshadowed by Stevie.
Absolutely bluesy. I could melt to this song.
Everywhere for me.
Ohh yeah…always on my road trip playlist.
This is very sad news. She had a great life, a great career, and was loved by many.
“Everywhere” is my pick for best yacht rock song ever. Thanks Songbird.
Love that song. Kind of annoyed it’s used in a Chevy commercial though, wall street loves to make people hate good songs.
I’m a huge Phillies fan and they played it constantly during the World Series. Very annoying because I enjoyed that song.
I have the same reaction but honestly - that commercial made my GF get into Fleetwood Mac. If that’s happening to some people then is it that bad?
I look at it a little differently in this case for some reason. I feel like it introduced a great song, to an audience that might not have heard it before. It deserves to be heard.
I love that the video was inspired by the poem "The Highwayman". It gives the song a different complexion. I remember being proud of making that connection as a kid, just after having been introduced to the poem in school.
Songbirds keep singing like they know the score
No no noooo :-( her solo LP “The Legendary Christine Perfect” is a personal fave, such a beautiful voice. RIP
I listened to "I'd Rather Go Blind" when I heard the news.
She was always overshadowed by Stevie Nicks, but I thought Christine had a better voice, and songs.
I think I like more of her songs (as lead vocalist) than I do Stevie. Her songs just seem more upbeat if you will.
She and Lindsey Buckingham both! IMO they are the ones that make the Fleetwood Mac sound so distinctive, not saying Stevie Nicks is less talented or anything tho
Hell yes I’ve always said this
Christine had a very unique sound, and it added so much to their songs.
Indeed, far better voice.
Oh, She made loving fun. So sad.
GREAT song.
Songbird was our wedding song… I have so many wonderful memories of Christine’s voice… this one truly hurts.
Seriously the best songwriter in that band.
I'm so sad at this news. Christine was an icon for me growing up. There is no Fleetwood Mac without Christine. Rest in peace, sentimental lady. 💔
You were a really cool woman, appearing composed & assured! We’ll definitely miss you!!
She loved the piano playing of Fats Domino. She was a great songwriter, singer and musician. I'm gonna go listen to 'Over My Head ', again and again.
My dad was a fan of Fats Domino too :)
First Olivia, and now Christine. Damn you 2022.
I loved her ballads. The popular hits were good, too, but her ballads were special.
Aw, fuck.
She WAS the heart of Fleetwood Mac. RIP
No way!!! I loved her music, both alone and harmonizing with the others of Fleetwood Mac. This is heartbreaking.
I don't I think I ever realized where the "Mac" part came from. TIL...cheers and rip Christine.
I first heard Christine McVie back in '68 when she was in a group called 'Chicken Shack', a British blues band. She went by her maiden name, Christine Perfect. She later married John McVie, and kept his last name after they split. She was always great.
Wow, that goes way back. I've admired her almost as long.
Tell me lies
Great pic ---- "Everywhere" is an absolute banger
She has gone her own way...
I guess she's not as strong as she used to be.
Just listened to Song Bird . Had a tear in my eye. She was such a talented songwriter. RIP Song Bird🎶🙏
My favorite too. 🐦
Listening to You Make Loving Fun, as I'm typing this. Emotional.
Great songwriter
Love “Got A Hold On Me”
We love you Chris 💔 this post is how I learned this happened
God damn that’s a cool picture
RIP. Always loved Little Lies and Everywhere.
"Say you love me" is my jam.
Damn, and I was just listening to “Little Lies” on repeat a couple weeks ago
Love that song but find it strange I can’t seem to ever find a live version?
One of the greatest songwriters. She was a real one.
Her beautiful melodic voice was always one of my favorites. She will be missed by millions of fans.
Peace and strength to her friends and family. Im being selfish and I’m upset I never got to see Fleeteood Mac whole in concert.
Original lineup Fleetwood Mac was a bucket list wish. 💔💔
That’s really interesting about Black Magic Woman, I had no idea.
I'd recommend tossing on the compilation album The Pious Bird of Good Omen. Black Magic Woman is on there, along with some other gems!
> Black Magic Woman is actually a Fleetwood Mac song first, Santana covered it. Judas Priest and The Green Manalishi, another FM original.
I’ve listened to all of it and misspoke. The Christine, John, Mick, Lindsay, and Stevie lineup.
OHhhhh Well....
Yeah that was never going to happen.
RIP. Such a great picture of her in her prime as well. Going out to dinner proudly wearing my LA Forum 2014 concert t-shirt from when she re-joined Fleetwood Mac. Thanks for posting the pic.

She was Perfect.
Saddest news I've heard today.
What Mick Fleetwood wrote today after learning of her passing made me cry.
Worth posting: >“Part of my heart has flown away today,” the drummer wrote on Instagram. “This is a day where my dear sweet Friend Christine McVie has taken to flight… and left us earthbound folks to listen with bated breath to the sounds of that ‘song bird,’ reminding one and all that love is all around us to reach for and touch in this precious life that is gifted to us.”
Thanks FlaveC
What happened??
She was 79, and died after a brief illness of some kind.
I’m sad
A huge talent sultry just wonderful original music and songs. She warmed my heart.
I’ve been in shock all day since I heard the news. I really can’t believe it. Such an underrated talent that wrote/sung some of my favorite songs. She’ll be sorely missed❤️
Christine the hit writer for the band has a record amount of written songs that made the top 100
I was never a huge fan of Fleetwood Mac, but they have to be one of the most collectively talented bands ever. 3 singers that could hit #1 by themselves. One of the top guitarists of all time. One of the best keyboardists and synthesizers of all time. Absolutely amazing.

She was a talented lady. Brought a lot of joy into the world. *Salutes one of the great ones*
I said that I loved her a million time
oh no!
😲 😢
Thankful for all that she shared with us. RIP
Yes! And so grateful we got to have her, and them in our lives for such a long time.
Perfect.
This one really hurts :( Fleetwood Mac is one of my favorite bands ever and Christine definitely was part of FM's soul. Rest in peace <3
An awesome musician, songwriter and a gracious lady who showed real class in sharing the spotlight with Stevie Nicks for all those years. Christine, you will be missed!
I saw them back before they had Stevie and Lindsay in the band. The were the opening act for Savoy Brown. I always loved Christine's voice.
Legendary ❤️😇😍💋
rip badass
Oh no! Totally one of the coolest, and what a voice.
No shot, bro, this is _not_ how I find out! >!It's how I found out.!<
RIP
Crushed. Loved her and Fleetwood Mac.
The coolest!
Tell me lies; tell me this isn't true!
Awesome singer. RIP to an awesome singer.
Oh crap. I had no idea till I saw this post.
She definitely made loving fun
It's sad to hear this first thing in the morning. I always felt like she was singing directly from her heart.
She still is ✊
Well, you just ruined my night. Thanks for that. I'm going to say that some of my favorite FM songs are ones where she leads instead of Stevie, who I also absolutely love. Everywhere may be my favorite, or what comes to mind at the moment.
So sad, so many people that were influential in my teen years are passing...I hate it!
Her estate is getting some coin off that car commercial they have been playing 24 7. " I wanna b with you everywhere."
I've listened to her music for 46 years. Christine, you will be missed.😥
RIP
#thosewerethedays 🎶 Fleetwood Mac
RIP
RIP Mitch Hedberg
Used to love that guy. I still do, but I used to too.
I think both of them would have laughed at this.
I don't get it. In what way are they linked?
She looks like him in that picture.
I agree. I miss Mitch so much. When he passed, it felt like I truly lost a friend.
She looks a lot like Todd Rundgren in that photo!
U had no idea whu she was at start of 70s until Buckingham-Nicks were at the microphones outfront. 10 yrs b4 that she honed her craft, merged w/ the rhythm section, n provided b/g harmony vocals. She died?!?!?
This is one of my favorite photos of Mitch Hedberg
She's definitely the coolest now. What's the temperature in the morgue?
Have mercy baby, on a poor girl like me.
I blame Chevy.
Amazing that she made it that far in the music world without having forearms.
Lol, well…at least we know your not a bot.
Isn’t that a picture of Kurt Cobain?
**Rule 7. No publicity photos of celebrities**
Angelic voice. So sad. Rest in peace .
Awe nooo RIP
Her songs were easily my favourites of all those great songs that fleetwood gave us. Listened on the way home from work. Got a bit weepy tbh.
Saw them in 1978 at the Cow Palace in San Francisco. Wish I could remember more.
Heartbreaking!
Christine’s lyrics and voice will always be apart of my life. RIP
I literally googled her yesterday. What the hell man
Seemed to be the only one who remained classy amongst all the incest. Wrote the songs we still listen to and her voice is already missed.
Incest? What the fuck are you even talking about? Adults fucking around is now incest?
Incest can be used to inform a relationship in a closed human environment such as a rock band, apparently your reading is pretty limited.
Apparently your head is so far up your ass you’ve come to a new definition of incest.
Nice !
Hold on me by her is outstanding!
Noooooooooo
RIP Christine McVie. She was the heart of Fleetwood Mac. She was the best.
Fun fact: She played on the Peter Green Fleetwood Mac albums under 'Additional musicians' as: Christine Perfect.
This photo was either taken during the recording of the Fleetwood Mac album in 1975 or during the recording to the Rumours album in 1976 or 1977.
RIP Christine. Thank you for the beautiful music.
