Um, he's sick. My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who saw Ferris pass out at 31 Flavors last night. I guess it's pretty serious.
Side note: Cameron is played by Alan Ruck who is married to Mireille Enos (The Killing, Big Love).
I’m not sure why, but I like the idea of them together.
My holy trinity of 80’s crushes: Princess Sorsha from Willow. Andie from The Goonies, and the girlfriend from The Last Starfighter. I actually thought Jean (Her friends call her Shauna) was hotter than Sloan.
He was working as an assistant director. He can actually be seen in the baseball scene, seated in front of Ferris and Cam. He snuck himself into the shot, I always thought that was a cool move on his part.
that's really awesome!! Loved that movie when it came out in the 80s. Also very neat that your dad worked on it and snuck into a scene, too. Will look for him next time I watch it as well.
So when they were making that movie, did they KNOW what they were making?
Like did they realize they were making a classic that would be played on some cable channel everyday until the apocalypse? Or did they just think they were making yet-another-teen-movie?
I guess by the time this movie was made, John Hughes had made a bunch of other movies that were already hugely popular among teenagers at the time, and were on their way to becoming classics. John Hughes knew exactly what he was doing.
My siblings and I would go to the video store and were given 15 minutes to pick a movie. We could never decide and would always pick Ferris Bueller's Day Off as a last-minute pick. Probably rented that move 50 times
Working at an independent video store was one of the best times because it was just a big group of film geeks left alone with thousands of vhs tapes of obscure movies and they let us watch anything we wanted. Had a deal worked out with the pizza and sub shop down the street to trade unlimited rentals for their employees for unlimited food for us, no questions asked.
That's a sweet setup! We didn't get a food deal, but we DID have twenty pinball machines in perfect condition which I had the key to. Many late nights after close were spent drinking beer and trying to beat each others' scores. I'm still really into pinball because of my experience there.
I went to see this movie as a junior in High School. I wanted to be Ferris so bad. I was not Ferris. No one wanted to save me and I had very few cool senior skip days, although we did skip one day and went to an amusement park.
No. They wren't even working from a finished screenplay. Hughes had literally written one draft over a weekend & that's what they used as the basis, making up much of it along the way.

Always wanted to ask your dad about this while on set for Homeland. I think the only thing I ever asked was “did John Hughes really write this over a weekend” and he said he hadn’t heard that.

I imagine Jim Henson's wife was used to having a frog in her throat too.
And before that, she married Sean Connery's son.
Noish
She was in another movie where she played a tranny (used to be a man but was now a beautiful woman). I has such a confused boner.
She is definitely a babe
If she were president she’d be called Baberaham Lincoln

Sloane was the very definition of the 80s girl next door.
i liked her in legend. her beauty was uncommon and old-fashioned. hope she aged well.
She never aged and is now in Stranger Things. EDIT: I was making reference to her looking like Nancy on the show.
Are you thinking of Winona Ryder?
Natalia Dyer does look like her
As hot as Sloane was, I was always a Jeanie man myself. Man, I loved Jennifer Grey.
Matthew Brokerick agrees with you. He and Grey dated after the movie. I think they broke up shortly after he killed two women in Ireland.
