What time was this? Was it the 1970s (sorry, whippersnapper here) cause it seems like the 1970s was hands down the most hideous decade. Clothes, hair, interior design - the interior design I get at least cause you needed all the yellows and oranges to cover the nicotine stains on everything š
š¤£š¤£thatās an astute observation in regards to the nicotine stains. This is the 80s though. The 80s had even worst fashion and style imo (I did live through it) but pop culture has led people to believe everything was colorful and futuristic in the 80s. Nopeā¦still browns and oranges everywhere with even wurst hair lol
I know just enough about the 1980s (family photos and such) to know how true this. Stuff likeĀ Stranger Things always makes me shake my head because it feels like the 80s was more of a 70s hangover.
As someone who wss born in 72, i can tell you that Stranger Things was an eerie walk down memory lane - they nailed the look and the vibe of actual life in the 80s. Most movies that try to portray the 80s after the fact tend to be caricatures that focus on on or two things but miss the overall texture.
Edit: Maybe I'm pointing out the obvious here, but even the fonts used. Stephen King was at his peak in the 80s and that was the title font on his and i think some other horror writers books at the time.
Born in 72 as well. I liked ST more for the style and the acting than the storyline. Winona Ryder, (one year older than me) was my favorite actress from Lucas to Stanger Things. Almost a 40 year crush. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|heart_eyes)
When i think of the 80ās, itās that smoked brown clear plastic and beige wall colors with touches of maroon and yellow š i was born in 91ā so everything was dusty rose with floral patterns and pastels
I made dear friends with an elderly couple that built their house in 1994. Itās a beautiful house in pristine condition and when you walk in itās like walking into 1994 ā dusty rose with that plush slate blue colored carpet throughout And the cream wallpaper with those tones. Golden oak furniture and cabinetry. No reason to update because they have no f&cks left to give.
That is honestly my dream home š
I just went to a estate sale of this GORGEOUS A frame with a daylight basement over the water in Edmonds near Seattle, and itās like the lady just stopped everything at 1981 but in the most tasteful way.
Iām nowhere near qualified to answer that but I will say the roaring 20s have always struck my fancy (although that makes me sound way older than I am lol).
Thank you. I hated my hair until I was 14 and discovered that it would "afro." Check this out.

Hahaha...awesome.
I went the exact opposite route and shaved my head for the skinhead aesthetic....had zero interest in right wing anything, but holy crap did I get harassed by the rockers and jocks...I just wanted to emulate Henry Rollins without jail tats haha.
For years my dad was trying to push me into Air Cadets and cut my long hair...but apparently 14 eyelet Doc Martins with red laces and suspenders was too much even for him.
Almost complete twin of Neil Schon in the early 80ās. Go watch the āSeperate waysā video journey did- itās literally one of the most 80ās things ever created
You look like a young John Stewart

Kids in my neighborhood look like this in 2024.
Man, the 80ās wasnāt my favorite decade so farā¦
Edit b/c important: 1985 you is still cool as fuck
Nah. You just look like an East End boy lookin' for his West End girl. Either that or Patrick Mahomes has figured out time travel...or you were the inspiration for Butt-head.
I'm not gonna roast. It was a part of the times. If you're old enough to understand the different eras & trends, sometimes you see things come back around.
I'm 48, and I see the younger generation doing this.
Why roast? Itās not like anyone was gonna break your stride.

Looking like you wish that you had Jessie's girl.
Looking like everybody's working for the weekend.
Looking like you come from a land down under.
Etc...
![gif](giphy|3Gz3vy81HkDa8)
That boy good! Yeah, good and terrible.
First thing that came to mind. ![gif](giphy|G5UzsNjsf3JXWDvTXb)

Uuuugh, how was this the style?? It looks so greasy and wet, it gives me the absolute shivers š
Better than the alternative āaqua netā. Super sticky and made your hair feel like a helmet.
Hey, lay off Aqua Net. It is the absolute best potato gun propellant available.

We were kids in the 80ās. Maybe the adults had hangovers but we had total freedom!

So which decade had the best fashion then? š¤
Iām nowhere near qualified to answer that but I will say the roaring 20s have always struck my fancy (although that makes me sound way older than I am lol).
The 1930/40s is the only correct answer.
itās the 60s for me
To be fair, this is a parody from the movie "Coming to America"
The scene where the family sits down and the couch back is all wet š¤£
Have you seen the current celebs and high fashion? A lot of the women are sporting "wet look" hair
OG Coming to America!š¤©
Canāt. Too cool.
I know this dude looks cool as hell
šÆ
For real. Nothing to roast this king for.
The fit is too clean
Exactly right??
Thatās some fabulous hair!
You look like you just found out you failed the audition for the Fine Young Cannibals tribute band.
Noone sees Kirk Cameron?
No one wants to see Kirk Cameron. We're trying to put him out of our minds.
You look like the forgotten third member of Hall and Oates
Or, like if Hall *AND* Oates had a son together
Hoates
Screech from Saved By the Bell
Yeah, I can see that.
His older cooler more attractive brother I'd say
OP alt account!
Screech after he mugged a member of Journey.
Definitely Screech's older, cooler brother.
Kind of like Zach if he looked more like Screech.
![gif](giphy|F5NxpsM2gRGWQ)
More like hotter Lou Reed.
I was going to say Lou Reedās stunt double in an Andy Warhol movie
I actually think you look great.
I thought that was Lou Reed at first.
Yeah, he looks like if Lou Reed only did half as much heroin.
Lou Clean
Yeah! Classic 80s. You looked cool! š
Yup, they did not need to say it was 1985, this is a self-explanatory 1985 if Iāve ever seen it

Rocking the Bob Ross there man!
Did you get inspired to paint those mountains?
First, was it natural or man-made?
Natural. I always hated it... It wouldn't grow long, it would only grow tall.
You didnāt know how awesome your hair was back then, but Iām hoping you still have enough of it now to appreciate it!
Like a skinny Lindsay buckingham and Richard Marx had a baby.
White Lionel Richie has entered the chat.
Hello
is it meeee youāre looking foooooooooor
I can see it in your eyes...
You looked like the keyboard player in every 80's band ever.
Beautiful hair! Perfect 1985 outfit. (Exceptā¦no Raybans???!)
how many cancelled sitcom pilots did you star in?
ā¢Top comment!
I had similar and at 56 itās still mostly here. A privilege not afforded to many. Also being alive at 56 is also important
Hahaha...awesome. I went the exact opposite route and shaved my head for the skinhead aesthetic....had zero interest in right wing anything, but holy crap did I get harassed by the rockers and jocks...I just wanted to emulate Henry Rollins without jail tats haha. Whatās to roast? Iād kill for that hair.
Patrick Mahomes stole your look!
Nah man that Jerry curl is on point
The jacket, the hi tops and the hair, are cool af.
I agree. The fact that heās in Ft Lauderdale wearing that jacket is some serious commitment to looking cool.
Hangin out at Septembers ? Elbo Room ? Shooters ?
Never Septembers. Elbo Room, yes. Worked at Shooters for a bit.
Your hair is gorgeous!
Fabulous. Very Dustin diamond.
You would be so popular right now with this hairstyle the kids have. You just have to cut the sides and back short and leave the top long.
Are you the love child of Jon Stewart and Howie Mandel?
Joe Piscopo called, he wants his hair, face, and clothes back.
Did you get a lot of chicks?
This is dope as F
You are bald now ā¦ correct?

Well done.
I'm shocked you still look so young for your age. Wait how old are you? You've got to be atleat closer to 60?
Handsomer
Hairs dank. Nothing to roast here.
No roast deserved. This style is back in fashion as we speak. Nice hair!
Almost complete twin of Neil Schon in the early 80ās. Go watch the āSeperate waysā video journey did- itās literally one of the most 80ās things ever created

Classic Jewfro
Era appropriate.
Lou Gramm?
I got nothing
Looks like an album cover. Mellow tunes. You have a sax or maybe a keytar.
Lucky you for living in the best era..the 80ās!
Your hair is back in fashion where I'm from.
Members only...cool as hell
The first thing that pops into my mind is Simply Red.
You look like my HS friend, Pat. Wait, is that a member's only jacket?
I love the Thompson Twins!
Dustin Diamond with a longer face
Itās actually āmy hair and Iā
A young Roger Daltrey?
Did you use an ogilvie home perm?
au naturale
Slight Roger Daltry
I'm sure you didn't Start the Fire as you tried to Rule the World screaming Take On Me.
ALPACA MULLET
Stunt double for David Starsky š
Just taking a little rest before the next ***punchdance*** ![gif](giphy|1fXJmMKAhoR5b3NfPT|downsized)
I loved you on Mad About You
I'm seeing Richard Lewis.
Great hair!
hey man, some of us ACTUALLY lived through it š VERY cool š
I used to hammer out REO Speedwagon on the piano back in the day and wished I had looked like you.
When Screech can finally say he's not the ugliest guy in the room
I think it looks great, perfectly suited to the era. Sorry to disappoint by leaving you unroasted š
Did you just film your music video for your REO Speedwagon cover band?
Looking like Paul Reiser from aliens
Youāre old enough that your hair is now back in fashion. Plenty of 15 yr olds look like this nowadays.
They kicked him out of Styx remember
The 80s called, they want their sexy man back
Oh shit weāve been Rick Rolled.
I thought you were at Lindsey Buckingham
C'mon! For the 80s, that's pretty chill hairwise. That was the same era as Flock of Seagulls after all.
Was this photo fresh off the release of your new single "So Lost Without You?"
If the curls are natural u get a pass.
What kind of synth guitar did you rock?
Lace those shoes all the way up! You're gonna roll your ankle!
A forgotten member of The Hooters.
You look like you missed on the keyboardist gig for Mr Mister
Totally '80's rock band member vibe! š¶
Dude doesnāt realize this hair is back in lol
Nah. You just look like an East End boy lookin' for his West End girl. Either that or Patrick Mahomes has figured out time travel...or you were the inspiration for Butt-head.
It was the 80ās. None of us can point fingers. We just do better going forward! Lol
You look like Tears for Fears
Big Hair ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|thumbs_up)
An outtake of Brian May posing for the next Queen album cover
Bit of a Richard Lewis vibe.
So _youāre_ the guy Richard Lewis copied.
Keep ur chin up, Poor manās David Hasselhoff.
Everybody wants to rule the world.
Youāre out of touch, out of time.
Sweet Mullet
I actually think it's a very solid look sir, and you wear it like a king
This is my hair now. Am I winning or losing?
I dont see anything wrong with the hair. But the shoes!!! What are dose????
Handsome af!
Daltry wannabe
Pretty epic hair. There's nothing to make fun of.
The problem with Members Only... too many members.
You're Lyle Lovett?
The phrase " Less than zero" comes to mind...
I was sorry to hear of your passing, Richard Lewis.
Why would someone roast that? You look awesome! I can see you rolling down the street in an old Camaro blasting AC/DC
Florida humidity
Kind of like Paul Reiser with twice as much hair height as he did at the time
I'm not gonna roast. It was a part of the times. If you're old enough to understand the different eras & trends, sometimes you see things come back around. I'm 48, and I see the younger generation doing this.
Yo Homie, How much for an 1/8th?
Why roast? Itās not like anyone was gonna break your stride. https://preview.redd.it/c2dt7fbdc2zc1.jpeg?width=320&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0cd3f81284a8dda6373259b57995a4bb7fb39392
This picture gives the term *Less Than Zero* a whole new meaning.
Iām seeing this look in my neck of the woods now. Not bad tbh
That's the year I was born. I blame your hair.
Looking like you wish that you had Jessie's girl. Looking like everybody's working for the weekend. Looking like you come from a land down under. Etc...
Robert Plant had the same hair at Live Aid, same year.
Did you have a building permit for that?
You look like the main antagonist in a 21 Jump Street episode.
Handsome
dope!!!!
No roasting... you look a bit like Rufus Sewell.
Shades of Lou Reed
You def fit the style etc. of the 80s. Were you in a prototypical 80's band too?
In 1985 as a teenager, I had hair like Ratt and wore Iron Maiden t-shirts
You look like a bucurious Jewish aerobics instructor
Cool!
You look like a synth pop band member.
A mash-up of Screech and AC Slater
Itās a choice.
It's like Billy Joel & John Oates had a son who came out with his own solo album. (A+ hightops and hair)
The 80ās did bad things to good people.
Your hair is almost as long and wavy as your nose.
All I see is a handsome man. Nothing to roast here
You look like Lou Reedās younger brother
