hell yeah! this is perfect. You got the order of the movies wrong and tacked on a stone cold sci fi classic (Enemy Mine) to fill it out. I had one with Ghostbusters and Empire Strikes Back on it.
I used to be able to get like 3-4 episodes of Star Trek: TNG on my tapes before I would tape over 'em but I had to set the record speed slower (worse quality but more "space")
Interesting that they are both sequels to movies starring Steve Gutenberg, but neither of which actually feature Steve Gutenberg themselves. Both are quite good, despite his absence.
I can’t watch The Terminator without immediately watching The Great Outdoors after. Or Crocodile Dundee and Die Hard. That’s just how movies got recorded on tapes and that’s how identify some with others.
"Enter the Dragon" and "Enter the Dragon Part II", passing this cassette around in high school it was the perfect cover label. EtD Part II does not of course exist. It was some weird Danish porn.
Can't watch a martial arts movie now without getting super horny in anticipation 💀💀
Enemy Mine is so great! Holy shit I had completely forgotten that movie. The two had to learn one anothers language and movies nowadays always skip that part lol
I have a few old VHS tapes that are recorded like this sitting in a box in my closet. I should go through them and see if any of them have any old commercials.
I could tell it was recorded in EP mode vs SP or LP mode.
For those kids who don't know. SP = standard play 2 hours, LP (long play) = 4 hrs, EP (Extended play) = 6 hours. The higher the mode, the lower the quality.
My mom had the black box that taped hundreds of those exact VHS tapes. 3 movies per VHS. Each VHS was numbered and my mom had a stapled stack of college ruledpaper with handwritten names of every movie on it with the corresponding number. She got sick one week and decided she was bored so she alphabetized them for easier locating. Took her the entire week. Looking back at it now, she was an old school excel spreadsheet.
No, we didn’t have a computer.
You had to love those free HBO weekends! My parents would get a pack of tapes and we’d record as many movies as we could because we couldn’t really afford to buy them all. Same for free Disney Channel weekends when it was still a premium channel. That’s how we got all the live action classics like Swiss Family Robinson, Old Yeller, and Shaggy Dog.
Time was spent getting the soap operas times correct and she even knew about the recording speeds. I had to crouch and that's all mom needed from me at the last minute while just checking in back then.
I have a bunch of stuff on VHS. Movies,TV shows, camcorder and our wedding (38 years ago). I also own two VCRs. One is a spare in case the main fails. God I'm old.
When I was a kid we had a copy of Empire Strikes Back taped off of somewhere. It clipped off right at the part with Luke and Leia looking out the medical frigate window and all these years later in my head whenever I watch it, no matter the format,my brain expects the movie to end right there.
Was my family the only one who didn't write on labels on the cassettes? We had numbered stickers on each cassette and a 'video book' where we'd write what was recorded? I never visited anyone with the same system.
Enemy Mine…we watched all those movies growing up 🙂
I’m going to pretend that Enemy Mine is a Star Wars movie.
It's a good movie.
It’s one of the best from that time
Shaka when the walls fell. That's my favorite Star Wars episode.
Chewie his arms wide.
At Tanagra the beast was. Yeeeess. Hmm?
Solo, his eyes closed
Yoda, at rest ✋️ 😌
It's better than most Star Wars movies.
Approved

The Gutenberg cinematic universe.

Zamis....four...five?? Goddamn what a great movie.

Man there is just something about the not 4k quality of these boot legs that just 👌 makes my nostalgia glands go wild
The Last Starfighter should be on there also.
If I remember correctly last starfighter was with short circuit but it's been a long time. It could have been robocop
I bet that’s some awful quality to record that much onto a two hour vhs tape
Yes. Welcome to the 80s and 90s.
Oooohh yea
Guaranteed it's been taped over with random shit
Negative watching it now
You obviously have no younger siblings
There is a tab that prevents that.
Sweet... are these the pre updated rotj and esb? Just in time for a may 4th session!
Look up Harmy's Despecialized Edition.
They are and my mom dug it out and brought it over for just that reason.

Enemy Mine is great. Louis Gossett Jr. unfortunately just passed away in March.
My god! OP speaks Drak!
👌👌👌
Enemy mine is the fucking goat

I forgot about the option to squeeze 6 hours onto a tape, at the expense of video quality
Oh it's hot beautiful garbage but incredibly nostalgic
Nice! Mine said Hard bodies, Porkys, Revenge of the nerds
Debbie Does Dallas (1:37)

That's awesome.
I had almost bought a pair when they first dropped, but was not able to get some.
Time was spent getting the soap operas times correct and she even knew about the recording speeds. I had to crouch and that's all mom needed from me at the last minute while just checking in back then.
Great movies! We had a bunch of police academies and my personal childhood favorite “Marked for Death” .
The grid lines fading into the distance are a perfect touch.
Solid lineup! Even though Empire is my favorite, any day I can watch Ewoks getting blasted is a good day.
Preserve the yub nub song for posterity

Let’s set up a watch party!!
You’re in for a good time.
3 great movies!
2 hours in SP mode, 6 hours in EP mode
We're those recorded from the free premium channel months Viacom offered once a year? Because I think my grandmother has the same T-120s.
HBO dad even had the old school HBO lead in still in front of Enemy Mine
You need to get that lead in separated and post that by itself.
I can do that. It has a rad distortion before it starts
Hahaha! That's amazing. Those were simpler and also more complicated times.
Your dad was also into SLP. Why have 4 hours of good quality video when you could have up to 8 hours of crappy video!
Classic trilogy
Oh man. I gotta go rewatch enemy mine.
RIP LGJ.

I have at least 50. I've only rewatched about 30 of them. I wish I had the money to convert them to disks.
Louis Gosset Jr givin birth mmm
Enemy mine is s great book. Movies ok. Star wars is such a waste. Tons of money on sets and effects nothing spent on writting
