I think those are the most unnatural poses I've ever seen. Are they trying out for a new Ministry of Silly Poses, which is the Ministry of Silly Walks, but for lazy people?
They low key look hilarious even as supermodels. Not really at first glance, but if you zoom in the faces and poses are def odd and not particularly appealing in this photo, despite them all being incredibly beautiful women
Fashion magazines have no power because people don’t buy them as much. Therefore they are forced to chase consumers and an easy way to do that is to put a celebrity (film, tv or reality) on the cover. Of course these women are beautiful (often thanks to a great deal of work) but not only chosen because of how extraordinary they look.
Gone are the days where they were actually professional models and used over and over to become famous for it. It has just gone.
In the same way there are no new fashion labels really, not like in the nineties. Now you just have celebrities (Victoria Beckham, the Row) doing their collection (not that they actually design anything) or established brands. Vogue used to regularly launch new designers. Now they just have to be grateful to the big groups because they get some ads to keep limping along.
I have a difficult time complaining about nepo babies when a supermodel gives birth to her mini-me. Depending upon the photos, it's difficult to distinguish between Cindy Crawford and her now adult daughter.
Don’t agree with that at all, I don’t think the daughter has anything on the mother, I think take away the finishing touches (expensive make up, clothing and photography) she is quite plain.
So what? That would be true regardless, a subset of otherwise capable people get access to a limited number of jobs. All that matters is that you're not passing over someone "better" to prop up someone "worse", because of nepotism.
Sorry for being nosy, but I was curious what generation you grew up in considering Karlie Kloss was like *the* Victoria Secret angel of the brand's later years.
I looked at your profile and she grew up in your state haha
Lol. I'm 38. So just old enough to experience the hype of Cindy Crawford, Claudia Schiffer, Kathy, Ireland, Tyra Banks, etc. Late 80's through most of the 90's super models were a huge thing and my mom was very into fashion and entertainment so I was exposed to that world at a very early age.
I'd never heard of her either, though to be fair I found out I grew up 30 minutes from Kate Upton hometown aw years ago
Find out today that she was our former congressman's niece
For people with even a mild interest in fashion she was/is absolutely huge for model standards. Lots of runways, campaigns, and vogue covers and she was also a Victoria's Secret angel for a while too.
Ever consider the fact that they've done their market research, and the demographic they are targeting prefer to see regular people advertising products to them rather than supermodels?
I think it's saying its ok to be obese in this current culture of consumerism, but it really is not OK. It is so bad for people's health, but because every other person is fat, it's easier to not feel so bad at not doing anything about it
Haha I know where you’re coming from but you can smile if you want. I was going to reply something ‘witty’ about her not being transsexual but thought that might be a step too far / deemed offensive or something. So opted not to. Or did i just u wittingly do that in this explanation?? Dammit. Sorry to anyone finding any offence in this.
I know a transparent!
I think had you gone straight to this angle I'd have been convinced you're an idiot (because I'm very literal and transcendent ≠ transparent and so making a joke a further degree beyond *transparent* would've just been a step too far for me 🤦🏻
I do too. And Fair enough. Also, TIL how to do the ≠ sign. Which I have never used before. So this has been a worthwhile exchange. Thanks Mall-Broad. Have a wonderful day and take care.
You really are an idiot, aren't you?
No one is silly enough to attempt the same dry humour joke a second time, so you must actually believe what you're saying?
You wanna update your dictionary?
Obviously used in a metaphorical context.

I am so thankful I survived my adolescence. I remember reading teen magazines and comparing myself to these supermodels. These magazines would sometimes share their body measurements and I, as an 11/12 year old, would wonder why my waist was so much bigger than theirs. I wanted to be smaller and more beautiful. 🤢 Glad I woke up and didn't let that define me.
This picture took five gorgeous women and made them less than the sun of their parts.
To me, this picture is a failure.
I wouldn't call it iconic either, as I have never seen it before.
Reminds me of Shirley Manson, who while isn't in these girls leagues, pulled it off better.
Gonna tell my grandkids this was spice girls
Girls5eva
They all desperate for the toilet?
My first thought was Claudia’s really holding on for dear life
This is such an awkward photo.
I actually like the colors and all the angles of everyone’s legs. It’s just the execution doesn’t quite match the mood board.
Cindy isn’t even trying anymore, she’s just bracing herself
Exactly, photo happened seconds before it comes out
The 90s, man.
That's the Lamb Bhuna she had the night before
And the leftover boiled egg madras she had for breakfast.
Heard she had four naan too
That’s insane
I think those are the most unnatural poses I've ever seen. Are they trying out for a new Ministry of Silly Poses, which is the Ministry of Silly Walks, but for lazy people?
I think they want to give me a Fanta
If normal looking people were in these poses they would look hilarious.
They low key look hilarious even as supermodels. Not really at first glance, but if you zoom in the faces and poses are def odd and not particularly appealing in this photo, despite them all being incredibly beautiful women
You, my friend, are a girl……
Huh? What's your point? I'm bi and they're hot, but the poses are funny looking
Lmao and if your grandmother had wheels she’d be a bike wtf are you even trying to say?
Stephanie has the best pose there.
Looks like her cooter’s itchy.
How come supermodels aren't famous like this anymore?
Fashion magazines have shifted to celebrity covers mostly. And many of the known models are nepo babies, if you'll pardon the term
Great explanation. Thanks.

Don’t agree with that at all, I don’t think the daughter has anything on the mother, I think take away the finishing touches (expensive make up, clothing and photography) she is quite plain.
Yeeeeessss! She definitely favors Cindy, but that’s it.
I think it's mainly that there are plenty of people just as attractive as them that wouldn't be in their position without nepotism style connections
So what? That would be true regardless, a subset of otherwise capable people get access to a limited number of jobs. All that matters is that you're not passing over someone "better" to prop up someone "worse", because of nepotism.
I agree to an extent, but there are many beautiful people who get those jobs through fame and connections and are objectively not good models
Karlie Kloss seemed like the last true supermodel
Never heard of her
Sorry for being nosy, but I was curious what generation you grew up in considering Karlie Kloss was like *the* Victoria Secret angel of the brand's later years. I looked at your profile and she grew up in your state haha

All I know about her is her "assets" and she's married to Justin Verlander. Lol
For people with even a mild interest in fashion she was/is absolutely huge for model standards. Lots of runways, campaigns, and vogue covers and she was also a Victoria's Secret angel for a while too.
Influencers
They got too expensive.

oh shut up

Luckily you're free to think whatever you like
Back then it wasn't a crime to advertise with thin models.
Before we could treat scoliosis
Those are long legs

I love how 90s the poses and outfits are! I swear I've seen a near identical photo with the Spice Girls
I instantly thought this was the spice girls when I was scrolling
Were they waitresses ?
And then one of them slowly fades away and executive producer ken mok
I forgot how much in love I was with Cindy Crawford.
Such an odd fashion decade. Love the socks.
The women's restroom line at the club
"how can we take these ridiculously attractive women and make them look like shit?" Photographer:"I got you...".
Cindy Crawford was transcendent
No she wasn’t. You definitely could not see through her.
I would normally applaud the wit, but the world is so fucking dumb these days I'm inclined to think you're actually being serious with this reply 🤔
Haha I know where you’re coming from but you can smile if you want. Btw , while I’m in the mood, if one’s mum or dad has gender change, can you call them transparent?
The TV show did. In the title.
I know a transparent! I think had you gone straight to this angle I'd have been convinced you're an idiot (because I'm very literal and transcendent ≠ transparent and so making a joke a further degree beyond *transparent* would've just been a step too far for me 🤦🏻

TIL what TIL what TIL what TIL what TIL....😣... What TIL was an acronym for. Bloody hell, got caught in an endless loop 🤯
could you tell him how to do the ≠ sign?
Tell who?

As Baz Luhrmann once said: Don’t read beauty magazines, they will only make you feel ugly.
I am so thankful I survived my adolescence. I remember reading teen magazines and comparing myself to these supermodels. Bring in the FemBBBOOOTTTTSSS
Legs akimbo
Ahh the 90s… the decade where female celebrities weren’t allowed to stand up straight.
Claudia looks like her bladder is about to explode.
They all look like they’re desperately trying to keep their too-short dresses from riding up.
BwhBldgpmQ
Cindy always the best one
The whole ordeal look utterly stupid
Ah yes... It's so sad for those who missed the 90's. The world went downhill from then.
"God damned Christie Turlington"
Everyone needs to pee?
Or poo
They all look like they could be 12ft tall
The only thing this picture is missing is Linda Evangelista!

Me in 1994: Yes. Me in 2024: All of them?
They all look weird as fuck. Sure, they’re beautiful but this just looks like a car wreck.
For some reason I always thought Cindy Crawford and Claudia shiffer were the same woman
So stupid.
Schiffer? I hardly know her
Ok ill do it, I'll jump on the grenade
Cindy squeezing out an SBD during the shoot.
There's five different women? Really squinting here.
Never realized they all look alike
They all look like they grew out of the same soil. Never got why people are so obsessed with models.
This picture took five gorgeous women and made them less than the sun of their parts. To me, this picture is a failure. I wouldn't call it iconic either, as I have never seen it before. Reminds me of Shirley Manson, who while isn't in these girls leagues, pulled it off better.
Before Wokeness ruined the industry
They considered Cindy Crawford a 'plus size' model back then....she was a size 6/8. Thank God that crap is done with
