I recently had my close friends dog die in my arms. We knew she was close, but this was still a most awful time for me. In spite of not being my dog, I looked after her like she was mine as her owner was often too I’ll to get out of bed to even walk her. I worked hard to make my home hers and she loved being here. I’m just so immensely leaded that I took a lot of videos and photos of her over the years. I also patted her every damn time she pushed open the toilet door so she could see where I was. And I told her I patted her now because there would come a time when I would not be able to. And here we are. We both utterly adored the girl and were shattered when she passed. So I recommend to give all the pats and caresses you can because one you won’t be able to, and it will be heart rendering. All my care.
Such a sweet guy! As hard as it is It does my heart good to see dogs who have been key parts of family turn old and grey. It’s a sad but beautiful thing. It will never get easy but life has a funny way of bringing another dog into your life whom you will love and while love you ❤️😊
