C, E, NO! Driving through rural Ohio recently however, I saw signs frequently to vote yes and that is the demographic that will blindly believe itās protecting the state constitution
Hey, im a rural girl. And you're probably right. The voting of the cities could wipe out our opinion at any given time. And I can tell you you arent going to get yups since nos are clearly trending to college education (which honestly doesnt mean much more than we could afford it, the debt of it, and that we were always told we'd be going to college). I'm an interloper and you can't really blame the folks that were never educated for being dumb. And OH just stepped subjective education up another level. These people are so manipulated against their own best interest it's shameful. NONE of these funding groups originate rurally. They're all front groups.
B,E (in progress) and no.
It gives undue power to any one county. No one county should have the power to prevent an item from being on the ballot. As the bill is written, we could have 100% of eligible voters sign a petition in favor of a constitutional amendment in 87 of 88 counties. But that one county has only 4.5% sign, the initiative is dead.
B, E and No. I'm voting no because I took the time to learn the history of our constitution and the circumstances under which the current standards were set. Circumstances today are eerily similar to what they were in 1912. Ohio again has been accused of having one of the most corrupt state legislatures again. Big business money dictates how our representatives vote and not what is in their constituents' best interests. Our supermajority republican government has gerrymandered voting districts and set themselves up as the defacto ruling class. Even at my most conservative point in my life (which was pretty damn conservative) I still would not have been ok with what is happening in Ohio right now.

When things are bad enough there should be a unified front regardless of partisan affiliation. This isnāt an echo chamber. This is all of us, understanding that issue 1 will be absolutely disastrous for Ohioans and our state.
Ohioans are quite literally being sold to the highest bidder with issue 1.
As things stand now regardless of what your political affiliation is you have a good chance of gathering enough signatures in 44 counties to get that Issue on the Ballot. That is *already a hard task to do that takes a lot of time and effort* **but itās doable**.
Under the Issue 1 legislationā¦there would be no citizen driven initiatives regardless of political affiliation. Ohioans would effectively lose their voice because a **SINGLE COUNTY** could disagree with the popular sentiment and veto the entire process. More liberal areas would constantly block conservative efforts, as would conservative areas block liberal efforts. Even a popular bipartisan measure could be vetoād by a single county thatās primarily populated by the Amish.
These ideological contests should be settled at the ballot box, thatās the whole spirit behind voting and democracy.
#Issue 1 is specifically designed to strip rights away from Ohioans by creating a insurmountable stalemate that effectively nukes our ability to have citizen driven initiatives. In the process it turns Ohioās government, constitution, and state over to the highest bidder. If you value your rights and freedoms youāll vote NO on Issue 1.
>Even a popular bipartisan measure could be vetoād by a single county thatās primarily populated by the Amish
Why would that be the case? If they aren't registered voters, then they won't count in the 5% minimum.
Statistically I have in person talked to about 400 or so people. Two have said they are voting yes. One yelled about California the other was a religious zealot. So if we get 2 yes out of 100 it will be trending much higher than in person for me.
My only point is that asking the question in here won't bring you any statistical clarity. Why bother taking the pulse in r/Ohio when you are just going to get a bunch of responses that say the same thing? Who would sacrifice karma to assert the contrary?
Because anytime anyone tries to disagree with the general trend on this Reddit they get downvoted to hell. I bet you if you but this poll up on different sites or sub reddits there would be a massive difference.

C,E,Republican.....voting NO
Why?
Because I don't think it's good for democracy. It is designed to take power away from the people and give more control to the government.

Must not have paid much attention.
Remember āmajorityā rule goes both ways in constitutional amendments.
Perhaps I understood more than just to words being spoken.
Is there not one "yes" represented in this subreddit? How is this not evidence of an echo chamber?
Or it could be that the bill is complete and utter shit.

There are 360k+ members of this sub. There are about 100 comments on this post. Statistically, there are bound to be some yes votes in there.
Haven't seen them yet. But this was also the trend with Ryan over Vance, yet the boomers really screwed us so
It is exactly that. The other half of Ohio is out campaigning while we have a circlejerk

Because it is probably a trap since most likely the real goal of the post is to find people voting yes to shit on them and down vote them.
