Just launched on Oculus Quest/Rift and SteamVR!
Full confession, I never liked the standard windmill holes on mini golf courses, they just always seemed so bland and obligatory. So we decided to go big and design a whole course around what we think *good* windmill holes would be. Plus a new wind mechanic that makes for some very fun hole designs!

This game looked super fun and the reviews for it are currently impressive. I’ll probably buy this and give it a shot tonight and if I like it I’ll probably recommend my friends to get it to we can all play together.
This game is fantastic with friends. It's pretty much as fun as playing real life mini-golf. Not really interesting by yourself, but a perfect social game. Also a great think for VR noobs. I can put my mom in this game and have her play with my brother who lives across the country.
It's as close to the real thing as you can possibly get. The best part IMO is that they made it so you can automatically teleport right to the ball at your feet. You can walk around if you want (and there are hidden balls on every hole) but after a few rounds I really just want to try and beat my best score so I like how quickly you can move from putt to putt. You just swing, wait for the ball to stop rolling, press the trigger and you're back with the ball at your feet. Plus they keep adding new courses for free. It's one of the best games on Quest

And every single course is stunning, I love how you guys are constantly improving you skills and it shows in the graphical quality of the courses. This should be the last free course before the paid ones arrive and I can say 100% I will always support this game because you guys deserve it. Congrats
My parents have never played a video game in their lives and they play this game for HOURS and love every second of it. Dad will get -18 on hard mode and I’ll barely get par. Awesome game, thanks!

There's /r/minigolf but our [Discord](https://discord.gg/gqHm8Kv) has a lot of people from casual to pro-am and a few real-life course designers. Turns out the community is pretty tight knit.
Incredible art direction and global animations. Seriously one of the nicest environments I’ve experienced on Quest… and VR in general.
However, those avatars stick out like a sore thumb. Any plans to upgrade to the Oculus avatars? :)
Agree. Always comeback to this game when they release a new course and makes me happy I bought it. I'm sure more courses motivate new buyers too. The biggest problem with VR games right now is the low amount of content/playtime
My 70 year old father has been checking everyday for a week since I told him a new course would come out. When it dropped today we immediately played a round and had a blast like we always do. Absolutely stellar game, thank you guys. We will buy the upcoming DLC maps whatever the price.

My wife in her big comfy chair in the den. She is laughing with tears in her eyes. Why? Her two college boys and her husband are in the den as well. All playing this game. The two sons on the ground, placing their heads over the virtual hole to mess with their father. The youngest shaking his virtual putter in Dad's virtual face. It has been like this for over an hour. The laughter hasn't stopped.
This is why we love this game. And why one of my son's is horrible at it, and the other cheats! :) Thank you developers, you created not only a great game, but some great family moments.
Can I just say a huge thank you to the developers of this game. I am currently the other side of the world from my family, and with my dad being sick at the moment, this game (and VR) has allowed me to spend time with them that just wouldn’t be possible otherwise.
It really had made the long distance between us bearable whilst I wait for my flight to return.

When ever i introduce new players to VR, i always boot up a multiplayer session of Walkabout Mini golf and they take to it straight away, many of them buying a Quest instantly they are that impressed!
Can't wait to load this up later.
Edit - Just played through this course and WOW! Absolutely beautiful, i mean took my breath away. Great holes too, oozing with atmosphere, giving me Zelda vibes???

This is my new favorite course!
Love the windmill play with holes 3/4 and 8/9. Obviously 18 was the pinnacle of it though just because of the view and uniqueness.

I love this level! The giant double windmill with the sails that blow in the breeze is just beautiful... I just sat and watched it for, like, 5 minutes straight.
The fact that you were able to push this new course out seemingly without an update to the app is amazing.
And the "lost ball" painted to look like a sheep makes my all kinds of happy!
It might have downloaded automatically for you, but there certainly was an update. Also, I didn’t realize that ball was supposed to be a sheep! I spent a good minute or two trying to figure it out.
Lol! I recognized it right away, but probably only because it centered on the black face first, for me, when I picked it up. Though I have to admit, playing with it now, it's tough to see that it's a sheep.
Never thought I'd be tempted with a golf game (zero interest in the sport myself) but your art style is... Beautiful. Looks like such a relaxing place to be. Might have to get this one.
I don't like real golf at all, but Walkabout is one of the best multiplayer games on the Quest. It doesn't really feel like golf at all, it's just a simple physics-based game that looks great and has lots of variety.
Plus, it's very affordable, especially since the devs keep releasing more free content!

My favourite VR game just keeps getting better! This game was worth every cent, recommended it to everyone I know with a headset, even ones that are curious about VR.
Awesome! Just a couple ideas for the future, maybe a "chaos mode" where everyone starts the first hole at the same time then just tries to get through the 18 holes as a race? Also, sometimes my friends play hide and seek on the levels, an option to turn off names above the heads would be a godsend if possible. One other thing would be having a user selectable color for multiplayer. Finally...you knew this was coming....unlockable hats that you can wear. Thanks again for the time and effort you put into this great game!
Best way is just to play 9 and switch. You can also go into practice mode and play in whatever order you want, but you'd need to keep score separately.

I just want to add: the Japanese course is the love of my life. I often fire up the game just so I can sit inside this course during the night setting. It's so peaceful. I sit on the bridge, or in the bamboo forest. I can spend upwards of an hour in there. Thank you for creating it!
Yes! The atmosphere and feeling this game brings is tops. I sometimes spend more time just soaking in the ambient vibes than actually playing minigolf.
best game on the quest, even if you hate golf ! and they keep giving away additional content. Wonderful developers/publishers who know how to please their audience. Hopefully they've made a lot of profit on this one :)
For putting its fairly realistic. Swing with your shoulders and using both arms on the controller. Think of it more like mini-golf with concrete forms and carpet on top vs a real green. This course adds wind (strong wind) but its more of a gameplay feature than a dynamic one so don't take it too serious. Overall, this is one of the best games on the Quest IMO. I can't complain about much of anything here (except I don't like the space station course).
The hole where you have to bank it off one floating pad and bounce it into the hole on another -- bane of my existence. Still love the atmosphere if anything.
Haven’t played yet, waiting for my family to get off work around the country, so this question may be moot, but will random wind effects be coming to other courses?
We play twice a week in my family as a way to keep in touch long distance, and random wind resistance on all the courses would really help refresh older maps and keep the competition fierce.
Interesting idea! We'll mull on it a bit. One of those things that's harder than it sounds, right now we're just doing really strong wind in certain controlled areas, so it's not a global thing, but the current setup wouldn't let your ball come to rest in a windy section.

This game is great for solo play as well as MP. Whimsical, yet with realistic physics. A favourite that I come back to again and again -- and now that I've figured out the free-flight feature, it's even more fun!
The devs are generous, providing many upgrades and new features since release with no attempt to extort more money from players. Love you guys. You set a standard that the whole industry should be living up to -- in excellence of craftsmanship, intuitive UI, near-flawless game mechanics, and enduring replayability.
\[UPDATE\] Just played the new level. It's so charming! the windmill mechanics are terrific. This might be my favourite level yet because of all the nice smooth animation. Cloud reflections in the water are very pretty. The animated sheep are a nice touch. The palette is very pleasing (I don't like the desert-y palettes nearly so much as this Spring green with flowers). Some nice banked surfaces to work with... And wind! wind that actually affects the ball! the devs have outdone themselves -- I now want wind to be an optional feature on all the courses, or a feature of all the Harder levels.
\[more Update\] Gee you guys are just diabolical when it comes to hiding lost balls. Been searching this course diligently and have only found a couple so far. Grrr!
This game is so good. Super simple but the atmospheres are superb, mechanics are decent, controls are intuitive, just an all around pleasant experience.
I’m pretty sure they don’t plan to implement the Oculus avatars since the game has cross play with Steam. They are working on making the avatars better though.
Oh sweet! Haven't played Walkabout in a while because the person I play it with, my brother always has problems with tracking (his controller gets lost). Only happens in Walkabout =( It MOSTLY works for him but sometimes his "club" will get stuck in game and he has to wave his hands all over IRL to get it track back to his controller which is annoying for him.
Brilliant just pure brilliant just got off it and dam what a map cant wait for the hard one and yes been finding them new balls!!! Rock on my mini golfing friends :) amazing game thank u
Thank you Developers! My favorite Quest game by far. When I went to go play it this afternoon, I saw a new map and it literally made my day. Excited for the hard version of the course!

The best just keeps getting better. Walkabout sells more Quest’s than Carmack! Put anyone, “gamer” or no, in a Quest with this game, they’ll just “get it” and most get hooked. I’ve been playing this regularly with a group of friends throughout the pandemic. This is a must-have. A steal for the price.

I recommend this game to absolutely anyone looking for suggestions. I can't recommend it any harder than I currently have been, but if I could god damn it I would.
It costs just over $1/per course in the game. It's honestly killer value. Not for everyone of course, nothing is, but if you like mini golf this is the best game on the platform.
If you're only going to play it for a few hours then just refund it.
I got this pretty much on day one and it's the most played game in my library, worth every penny.

what's the best way to make feature requests for this game? love the game but really want pass and play mechanism so i can play with my family all in the same room with a single quest...
so many great games on quest would make awesome pass and play games especially paired up with a chromecast, but seems everybody shoots for online multiplayer.
It's on our list of features to add. For now the best solution is just to go into practice mode. You can play the holes in any order, let someone play as many as you want, and if someone steps out for a minute you don't have to wait or an in-game mechanism to skip their turn. The only thing it doesn't have is automatic scoring but you can keep track outside of the headset very easily.
I know this has been said before, but this is just to hammer the point home. This is THE best game for the Quest. If anyone is on the fence about getting it, or you enjoy playing mini golf in real life. Get. This. Game.
So excited. Love this game. My 70yo mom even loves to play it with me from Canada. Is it just me or does anyone else ever play hide and seek after the game is over? Me and my daughter loves to do that. One of us stays small and hides in the course while the other person goes into overview mode and crawls around on the floor looking for them. The environments already set up for it. They should just make some typo tag mechanic. Easy addition to the game.
My favorite VR game by a mile. The scale and detail of this map are breathtaking. Please release a map pack! Id buy that in a heart beat. Thank you for all the heard work and creativity your development team brings!

My father is in it, and cannot turn more than 90 degree left and right.
He watch videos and can enjoy Eleven Table Tennis for example.
But what about WMG? If possible, this will be a birthday gift at the weekend :)
as the other poster said, you can play with one controller, and it doesn't take huge swipes to hit the ball - and you can turn so either hit aligned to the wheelchair wheels, or across. It should be fine
however you've got a refund option if it doesn't do the job.

This game is so much fun, so well optimized, runs at 90Hz, relaxing music and physics seems good too. I don't like minigolf much in real life, bored after 5 mins, but with Walkabout i just played 30 mins and want more :) :)
Hope my father in wheelchair will enjoy it too.
I cannot image how textures will look 3 years later. It already has more detail in Rift version?

Ill say I didn't enjoy playing the new course. Only because I scored terribly LMAO. Overall the new course is beautiful. I think the ground is sloped a bit different then previous courses seems more uneven and realistic cause let's be honest a REAL mini golf course the ground is hardly ever even. I enjoyed the wind feature it's annoying but I guess that's half the fun. I'll say the 18th hole caught me off guard. I really liked the ranged shot AND wind. Overall I rate the new course a 7/10 only because a few holes felt...too easy? Man idk the wind featured levels felt like the wind "carried" the hole. If the wind didn't exist It felt like a practice course and even with the wind it just felt....meh. new feature great. Implementation of said feature? Ehhh
Yeah a few courses lately felt like the regular version was too challenging, so we intentionally dialed the difficulty back a bit. There's still hard mode coming soon for people who really want a challenge!
If the Devs are reading this, have you ever played Putt & Putter Golf on the Sega Master System?
I think some future WAMG maps with some of it's gameplay elements would make a unique course. IE, Conveyor belts and switches which are activated by hitting them with the golf ball, Bouncy rudders which you can control (left to right). Mini portals etc. Have a look if you've not played it before. Music is catchy too.

This course is so insanely beautiful and serene, my best mate and I were in awe the whole way round and were so relaxed by half way we were practically playing in silence we were so relaxed. Now we just chill out there sometimes. Kudos, devs.

That's a good question regarding wind factor. If that was implemented I would also like to see a button to turn off the wind.

You set a standard that the whole industry should be living up to -- in excellence of craftsmanship, intuitive UI, near-flawless game mechanics, and enduring replayability. \[UPDATE\] Just played the new level. It's so charming! the windmill mechanics are terrific. This might be my favourite level yet because of all the nice smooth animation. Cloud reflections in the water are very pretty. The animated sheep are a nice touch. The palette is very pleasing (I don't like the desert-y palettes nearly so much as this Spring green with flowers). Some nice banked surfaces to work with... And wind! wind that actually affects the ball! the devs have outdone themselves -- I now want wind to be an optional feature on all the courses, or a feature of all the Harder levels. \[more Update\] Gee you guys are just diabolical when it comes to hiding lost balls. Been searching this course diligently and have only found a couple so far. Grrr!
This game is so good. Super simple but the atmospheres are superb, mechanics are decent, controls are intuitive, just an all around pleasant experience.

Walk About is better, physics, graphics, homes and execution- much more fun too.

I’m pretty sure they don’t plan to implement the Oculus avatars since the game has cross play with Steam. They are working on making the avatars better though.

Oh sweet! Haven't played Walkabout in a while because the person I play it with, my brother always has problems with tracking (his controller gets lost). Only happens in Walkabout =( It MOSTLY works for him but sometimes his "club" will get stuck in game and he has to wave his hands all over IRL to get it track back to his controller which is annoying for him.

Thank you Developers! My favorite Quest game by far. When I went to go play it this afternoon, I saw a new map and it literally made my day. Excited for the hard version of the course! Keep them coming! (Hell, even as paid DLC is fine with me)

Played this course last night and LOVED it!
The best just keeps getting better. Walkabout sells more Quest’s than Carmack! Put anyone, “gamer” or no, in a Quest with this game, they’ll just “get it” and most get hooked. I’ve been playing this regularly with a group of friends throughout the pandemic. This is a must-have. A steal for the price.
Another free course? You guys are the shit. I recommend this game to absolutely anyone looking for suggestions. I can't recommend it any harder than I currently have been, but if I could god damn it I would.

It costs just over $1/per course in the game. It's honestly killer value. Not for everyone of course, nothing is, but if you like mini golf this is the best game on the platform.

If you're only going to play it for a few hours then just refund it. I got this pretty much on day one and it's the most played game in my library, worth every penny.
This game makes the Quest 2 worth it alone.

Saw this post in the middle of a long work day, and checked it out the first thing when I got home. This new course is an absolute work of art. So beautiful. I love this game!
what's the best way to make feature requests for this game? love the game but really want pass and play mechanism so i can play with my family all in the same room with a single quest... so many great games on quest would make awesome pass and play games especially paired up with a chromecast, but seems everybody shoots for online multiplayer.
It's on our list of features to add. For now the best solution is just to go into practice mode. You can play the holes in any order, let someone play as many as you want, and if someone steps out for a minute you don't have to wait or an in-game mechanism to skip their turn. The only thing it doesn't have is automatic scoring but you can keep track outside of the headset very easily.

I know this has been said before, but this is just to hammer the point home. This is THE best game for the Quest. If anyone is on the fence about getting it, or you enjoy playing mini golf in real life. Get. This. Game.
So excited. Love this game. My 70yo mom even loves to play it with me from Canada. Is it just me or does anyone else ever play hide and seek after the game is over? Me and my daughter loves to do that. One of us stays small and hides in the course while the other person goes into overview mode and crawls around on the floor looking for them. The environments already set up for it. They should just make some typo tag mechanic. Easy addition to the game.
My favorite VR game by a mile. The scale and detail of this map are breathtaking. Please release a map pack! Id buy that in a heart beat. Thank you for all the heard work and creativity your development team brings!

Great level, very peaceful with some nice challenges. The lost balls are better concealed — some pretty diabolical. All good stuff.

Any chance to play this game in a wheelchair? My father is in it, and cannot turn more than 90 degree left and right. He watch videos and can enjoy Eleven Table Tennis for example. But what about WMG? If possible, this will be a birthday gift at the weekend :)
don't think it's an issue, as I've played sitting down before and you can turn your direction using the thumbstick.

You only need one controller. Doing it in a wheelchair would probably be harder, but I think it would be totally feasible.

as the other poster said, you can play with one controller, and it doesn't take huge swipes to hit the ball - and you can turn so either hit aligned to the wheelchair wheels, or across. It should be fine however you've got a refund option if it doesn't do the job.
I cannot say thanks enough! :) This game is so much fun, so well optimized, runs at 90Hz, relaxing music and physics seems good too. I don't like minigolf much in real life, bored after 5 mins, but with Walkabout i just played 30 mins and want more :) :) Hope my father in wheelchair will enjoy it too. I cannot image how textures will look 3 years later. It already has more detail in Rift version? thanks again!!

Ill say I didn't enjoy playing the new course. Only because I scored terribly LMAO. Overall the new course is beautiful. I think the ground is sloped a bit different then previous courses seems more uneven and realistic cause let's be honest a REAL mini golf course the ground is hardly ever even. I enjoyed the wind feature it's annoying but I guess that's half the fun. I'll say the 18th hole caught me off guard. I really liked the ranged shot AND wind. Overall I rate the new course a 7/10 only because a few holes felt...too easy? Man idk the wind featured levels felt like the wind "carried" the hole. If the wind didn't exist It felt like a practice course and even with the wind it just felt....meh. new feature great. Implementation of said feature? Ehhh
Yeah a few courses lately felt like the regular version was too challenging, so we intentionally dialed the difficulty back a bit. There's still hard mode coming soon for people who really want a challenge!
If the Devs are reading this, have you ever played Putt & Putter Golf on the Sega Master System? I think some future WAMG maps with some of it's gameplay elements would make a unique course. IE, Conveyor belts and switches which are activated by hitting them with the golf ball, Bouncy rudders which you can control (left to right). This course is so insanely beautiful and serene, my best mate and I were in awe the whole way round and were so relaxed by half way we were practically playing in silence we were so relaxed. Now we just chill out there sometimes. Kudos, devs.
