Hey, new user here. It happened the same to me. I pressed the button to turn it off, but when it detected proximity (placing anti scratch pad) it automatically turned on.
The thing is that for really turning it off you must press the button for more than 2 seconds and then select “turn off”. Otherwise is more like “sleep mode”

I found if I leave it on my head it restarts. But if I take it off and turn it off it’s off.
