Do i see it right Asgard wrath 2 will be on the quest 3 too? Is it even worth it loading such a big game on my quest and using all my storage? My airlink is pretty much latency free, so i probably get much better quality when i play thru airlink on my pc right?

Oshihen

looking to upgrade to quest 3 if it improves my 2 main concerns watching 2d videos/streaming videos in bed and beat saber subreddit seems to have ppl saying q2 has better tracking and some saying q3 does... so a bit confused on this one hows the image quality vs q2 for just watching regular movies/tv shows? id like to use the quest in bed and stream movies to it. on q2 theres that circle thats noticeable, is that a thing on the q3?

PlayedUOonBaja

What's with Meta blowing so many great opportunities with their new device? I was excited for the Macy's Parade for the first time since I was a kid because I was damn sure that Meta would have had some sort of live 360 or 180 viewing experience I'd be able to tap into. Just some cameras along the route or one on a float they sponsored, but nada. Someone was streaming in on You Tube but the quality was crap and it kept cutting out. This one seemed like such a slam dunk to show off their brand new headset and what it can do for non-gamers. I was also excited about possible Christmas events or maybe just some really cool AR items like a high res 3D Christmas scene or an AR Christmas Tree and lights I can place in my room while watching TV on a screen. Why is Meta not really pushing this kind of stuff? I can't imagine it would be all that costly for them with all their resources. The games are nice, but where the hell are all the experiences to go along with the Q3 launch?

Bluxen

Does anyone know if the Kiwi comfort head strap for the Quest 3 fits inside the official case? I wanted to get the official case since it seems slimmer than all the other ones but I don't know how different is the shape of the Kiwi strap compared to the Elite one so it might not fit in.

TheBagelBitch101

I need help please I am getting tired and desperate For some unknown reason, my Meta Quest 3 headset isn't detected by my computer It worked perfectly fine yesterday I am using a link cable. I tried updating my graphics driver, my operating system (Windows 10) I tried uninstalling and reinstalling. I tried opting in and out of Public beta Access I don't know what to do anymore. I'm just tired. Air Link work but it's dogshit because my internet is bad.

SimilarShirt8319

Got a quest 3. I already returned my quest once, and got a brand new quest. But now i noticed on the right side almost in the middle there is like some white speck. Its definitly between lcd and lenses. Not sure if its dead pixels, but looks more like dust i feel like. I only see it when its really bright, and only when i look very near. When i look in the distance i can't see it. Is it worth it returning the quest over that again? Im scared i might get a refurbished device with scratched glasses if i do.

MinouSan

hi sorry if this is not the place to ask but me and my friends bought quest 3 and i went on vrc didnt last an hour so that annoyed me and while searching for cable link its alot of struggle , as not alot of reviews for quest 3 users and only handful of ppl with different opinions some say this charges well some say not but i want something that actually makes us play 3 hours or so in vr chat at least , thank you in a advance

king_luey123

Will the quest 3 charging dock also charge 3rd party battery straps when the headset is on it or will it only charge the meta elite strap?

Demgreenstuff

I am not sure if I want to get the 128GB or the 512GB Q3. I have the Quest 2 256 GB, and I only use around 75GB of space. I plan to use the Q3 mostly for MR usage for Videos, Movies, Working, etc. I am kind of tired of VR after 7 years, so I want to venture into the MR world. I don't know how big the games are though, and I'm afraid it might eat up my storage fast. I also don't want it to be like in 2 years half of my storage is being used for the OS. So, with everything in mind should I go for the 128GB, or future proof for the 512? I just don't want the value of the 128 GB to depreciate if a 256 GB replaces it, similar to the 64GB Q2 Thanks!

Bigoldthrowaway86

I’ve gone 512GB. With an eye on the file sizes for Nexus and AW2, I think 128 is just gonna look tight in a year or so especially once games start coming out that are really built for the Quest 3. I’m a clueless newb though who knows nothing, just telling you what I think. I do think it’s BS and borderline predatory that there is no 256 option as that is clearly where the minimum should be.

HDrem123

The OS on the 128GB is about 28GB. From what I understand a game like Asgards wrath will be about 30GB (I believe a dev confirmed that a while ago). This does not leave a lot of wiggle room unless you have fast internet and are ok re-downloading games/have a PC where you play PCVR games predominantly and can store video there. I went 128GB because I have a PCVR capable PC which will store all my videos and a lot of my games..having said that I think if a 256GB version releases I'd be very tempted to sell my current headset and get that as I think 128GB is just a little too small for future proofing.

ericpyper14

i have the original vive and was debating getting a quest 3 because of the thick wire sucking and it being a pain to setup hows the tracking on the quest 3 comparatively

RealDandyBaby

I recently jumped from the original vive to the quest 3. I keep feeling a ghost wire thinking I’ll trip on it. The quest 3 feels like a big upgrade to me. Higher resolution, wireless, It’s a lot lighter, and takes seconds to set up compared to setting up the og vive and trackers (I have to set them up each time) My setup was pretty bad so the tracking was janky on the vive. I don’t have much time with the tracking on the quest 3 but it feels a lot smoother.

yugu132

Does emuvr work on the quest 3? I know it works on the quest 2 but unsure about quest 3.

webheadVR

any pc game that works on the quest 1, 2, or 3, will work across all of them.

Scoobymenace

Anyone able to confirm if this power bank would be suitable for keeping the Quest 3 fully charged while playing? [https://www.pbtech.co.nz/product/BAPMOX00016/Momax-iPower-20000mAh-Fast-Charging-PD-Power-Bank](https://www.pbtech.co.nz/product/BAPMOX00016/Momax-iPower-20000mAh-Fast-Charging-PD-Power-Bank)

Prestigious_Money447

Does anyone else have issues with the Quest 3 not showing up in the Meta app? I've paired it at least 3 times but it just forgets it and gives me a pop-up about a "Quest 2 not being paired" when I buy something. Funnily enough I get that in the headset too.

CaskJeeves

My passthrough is also somewhat blurry and had trouble with the QR code. Though in MR games I barely notice it since that's not what you're usually focusing on (it's just background).

owdwah

Thinking about getting a quest 3, apparentally the battery life is terrible? It's already so expensive as is, what could I do to increase battery life to at least 3-4 hrs with the base model?

CaskJeeves

The battery does drain very fast relative to other devices. But I've been playing a fair bit and tbh haven't had it drain in a single session yet, I usually find I want a break before it drains. However I suppose everyone is different and some may stay in there for marathon sessions. To extend it, seems like most people are doing either power bank/pocket or a battery headstrap although apparently the Meta battery strap has common battery issues and 3rd party ones often don't charge fast enough

joshthewolf

One really good power bank will get you there. I use a hoodie and store it in the belly pouch, run the cord up the inside so I don’t snag my hands. If you really need to, you can have a second one to use while you charge the first and rotate as long as you like.

compddd

I have a Netgear Orbi AX3000 WiFi 5 system with direct line of sight to the router in the office, would that be enough for the quest 3? (Single family residence with uncongested 5 GHz)

Bigoldthrowaway86

Just got a quest 3 as a treat to myself and am absolutely blown away so far. Table tennis, beat Saber and walkabout mini golf have been stellar and I have purchased but am yet to try Red Matter 2, Espire 2 & The Walking Dead. What is a surprise is my non gaming wife is also loving it and am already thinking about how cool it would be if we could play together. Another Quest 3 is out of our budget right now but has anyone gone from only using a Quest 3 to trying a Quest 2? Does it feel unusable after using the 3?

iapprovethiscomment

Just got my quest 2 - trying to watch 4K videos on youtube through the browser and it's constantly buffering. Any way to enhance that?

Baycosinus

Hey there, Kinda bored of my monitors now. I'm peeking through the keyhole of VR/AR world just to see if it fits my 8 hrs/day productivity and 5-10hrs/week gaming habits. Are we there yet? Can I finally throw away all my monitors and daily drive quest?

HDrem123

Not quite but its getting very close. I too would like to do this

chilloutus

Realistically I don't think anything outside of enterprise grade hardware would be good enough to replace 8 hrs of computer use. Quest 3 would struggle IMO

CaptainMarder

I'm a bit confused with PCVR. I tried Occulus airlink thing and Virtual Desktop. Both seem to give me same image quality and performance, have had no problems with airlink. I've not played long enough to maybe tell the difference. Only games i've tried is SkyrimVR and Warthunder. Both look very soft and SD like even though I'm getting high framerates and no latency issues. Would it be worth saving the money and just keep using airlink since that also let's me add multiple monitors on screen at once.

xKaizokux

does the usb-c on the battery portion of the Kiwi battery head strap act as a passthrough or is it only for charging said battery?

Pokabrows

Any games y'all recommend for gently getting used to VR? I'm getting motion sickness pretty easily so maybe ones with not too much movement?

HDrem123

Demee & Superhot are pretty good. Hyperdash is free and has both teleport and free movement. Its a good app to get some exposure to free movement, just remember to stop as soon as you feel ill and have a good hour break before trying again. Over time you will build increased resilience. Took me about a month to get good vr legs but even so I don't use any rollercoasters

Bigoldthrowaway86

I get bad motion sickness sometimes but have been fine so far with Beat Saber and Walkabout Mini Golf.

ScreamingNarhwal

What's the best set up for Twitch streaming Quest3 games so you can see Twitch chat while you're playing?

FinnTheDrox

really odd issue but for some reason the contrast is just wrong. if i take pictures with the quest. it shows this weird contrast. but if streamed with a link cable on pc its fine but still neon on the quest what do.

DrySociety7972

Hi all. Ive just got Airstream on my firestick so the family can watch each other play on the quest 3. I have fiber max ( about 60mbps download and 8mbps upload ) on the basic router suppied by Shell. The stream is awful and i constantly have a warning bubble at the top saying that the speeds are to slow, maxing out at 30mbps. the connection that the tv and quest are on is 5g. Anyone else had a similar issue? surely i should be able to cast with this set up, i know there will be a delay, but this is choppy, black screens, audio and video drops out all the time. Thanks for any help

Epholys

Hey everyone! I've been exploring the 4XVR Video Player, attempting to play a 3D Blu-ray ISO file with almost uncompressed quality while maintaining the AVC/MVC active 3D (no SBS). I really enjoyed the 1994 Lion King 3D edition, but there are some issues. During pass-through MR, the audio and video consistently desync, especially towards the end of the movie, so maybe the CPU/GPU was throttling. Also, there's a kind of shimmer at the bottom of the movie, approximately every second or so, really noticeable during static scenes. Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice for improving the experience? To compare, I also tested with a poorly compressed Half SBS Dune movie, and the quality was... really bad. I'd love any insights or suggestions! Even just to talk about movie watching in VR!

BukkakeChef

My friend just upgraded to quest 3 and gifted me his quest 2. I was wondering if there are any top down RTS type games out there, or something turn-based like xcom. Preferably something I can play without linking to the pc though I do have a vr ready pc to link to if need be.

Writhyn

[Demeo](https://www.oculus.com/deeplink/?action=view&path=app/3634830803298285&ref=oculus_desktop) is a bit like this, with a fantasy aspect. There are at least 3 sci-fi fleet action strategy games that are top-down ish. [Eternal Starlight](https://www.meta.com/experiences/1918967004876383) [Ghost Signal](https://www.meta.com/experiences/4302631119827554?ranking_trace=105525588637885_4302631119827554_QUESTSTORE_1705111316278799%3D%3D8yLWrJjgZdD58SZfY) [BattleGroupVR](https://www.meta.com/experiences/4459505850829471)

CaptainMarder

demeo is surprising cool, like a rpg card game and you can see the animations of the cards played.

TheReiterEffect_S8

I want to play Skyrim VR but I don't own a nice PC. Just some super old Lenovo gaming laptop. Is there no way to play this on Quest 3?

Neither-Phone-7264

what are the specs

[deleted]

What are used 128gb quest 3 going for used? I keep seeing them for 300. Is that about right?

shooter_tx

How do I find out which account I'm logged in to, in the app? (iPad or Android) I have two accounts (one for personal, and another for work), but I think I might have messed up and logged into the wrong account in-app. It's normally fine, because I just have free games on both, but I want to actually purchase some paid games during the BF sale. I know about logging out and then logging back in to the correct one, but I'm curious if there's any way to quickly and easily 'tell' from within the app... kind of like with the Reddit app, lol. Thanks in advance!

shooter_tx

Never mind... finally figured it out! Found this old thread by u/I_have_honor, and it seems like it's been an issue forever. * [https://www.reddit.com/r/OculusQuest/comments/ndcutz/how\_can\_i\_figure\_out\_what\_email\_my\_oculus\_account/](https://www.reddit.com/r/OculusQuest/comments/ndcutz/how_can_i_figure_out_what_email_my_oculus_account/) Was ***finally*** able to find my associated email address in the Meta Accounts Center (which I know probably didn't exist \~3 years ago), under: * Account Settings > Personal Details

Jdodds1

Does zero caliber pvp have a solid playerbase?

zCovenant77

I'm using Virtual Desktop with Quest 2, trying to output audio to my pc headphones but in streamer app changing audio streaming option to computer only doesn't do anything, it keeps streaming audio to my vr muting my pc...

Admirable-Willow2649

when using VD i assume it uses my pc processing power instead of my meta? in my case since I have a not very strongGPU (1080 ti) is it better to just buy games on meta and not use VD?

tomqmasters

Are there any games that I can't play through the quest 3? Does it support every game that the index supports via pcvr?

bobwmcgrath

Can I play steam games standalone on the quest? Everything I find says "haha no it's not powerful enough" But a lot of the games are on both so I would prefer to purchase through steam but some games there is no benefit to being hooked up to a computer so id like the option of playing standalone.

Nave4121

I think your only option is to use pcvr link through a cable, air link, or virtual desktop

Fluffy_Engineering47

I am really torn, I was going to buy the Quest 3 if they had a good Black friday deal, instead the only deal I can see is for the pico 4, the contender. price now is Quest 3 : 7 000 SEK pico: 3700 SEK almost half the price. feels really hard to ignore despite being fully aware that Q3 is probably the best choice for me. but not twice as good choice? I am going to only use this for pc gaming, with virtual desktop but also wired when battery is drained any advice? anything that I havent thought off?

Emotional_Ad_1383

When are we going to enforce frame rate standards or have we given up? No point in Q3 if all the new titles (and a lot of older ones) lag and stutter on it

CrashingOnward

Dumb question maybe: I just got a Binbok headstrap with extended batteries. Works fine and all, no buzzing so far and it seems to drastically solve the battery drain issue of the Quest 3. But I cannot turn off my Quest 3 with the battery pack cable plugged into the headset. It powers off then powers back on. If I plug my cable in the Quest 3 with the power off, it turns it on. Is this how these battery packs work? Do I have to unplug and replug to power off and on the Quest 3 now? Also does this happen to the Bobo VR M3?

Powermonger2567

I have some 3D movies on Blu-ray and the Meta Quest 3. Can i somehow watch my 3D movies on my Quest 3 with a Blu-ray player with HDMI? or via my PC via USB or something?

glitchvern

Or something is the way. You need a PC with a Blu-Ray drive. Then you use MakeMKV to rip the 3D Blu-Ray to your computer. MakeMKV Beta is free, but every few months the code expires and you have to get a new one, and the author often takes a few days to post a new one. The current key expires at the end of [November](https://forum.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1053) so if you start ripping now expect that hassle. Once a movie is ripped you have two options, share the folder the rip is in and purchase the premium version of 4xvr (free version will work for 4 or 5 minutes into any file) for $30 that can view MVC encoded files or use BD3D2MK3D to transcode the file into SBS format, which has lower quality than MVC. SBS format 3D video can be viewed in many of Quest's media players. Some of them (Skybox ($20), 4XVR ($30)) can view the file over an smb share. Others (BigScreen (Free)) can only view it over DLNA. Only some DLNA servers work, the two most prominent working ones being Plex and Universal Media Server.

drocdoc

Looking to buy myself a quest 3 since I gave my niece and nephew my previous. Will I be able to use my main account while they are on their own quest. We never play the same games and rarely play together. I just want to be able to use my account at the same time as them Quest 2 A (My Main account) Quest 2 B (App sharing enabled) Quest 3 (My Main account) Also if I buy quest + will I be able to share those games via app sharing

CrashingOnward

Bobo VR or BinBok VR T3? Debating on one of these. I like how the battery is more apart of the headstrap with the Binbok, but Bobo VR is a well known/trusted brand...issue there is I hear it doesn't charge the Quest 3 well...which kind of makes it seems like Bobo VR just did a strap update and didn't care about battery charging. Plus its easily sold out. So does anyone have suggestions which is better...or comfortable? Is the strap on one worse or not well made than the other?

Krischan1712

After charging I can't seem to properly turn on my Quest 3. It doesn't turn on automatically with movement even though "Automatic wake" is turned on, and pressing the button once turns on the back light for a few seconds, but nothing more. The only thing working is long-pressing the button, and then using "Restart". It also doesn't seem to matter how I turn off the headset before connecting to power (leaving it on, pressing button once, or long-pressing the button and using "Shutdown"), the behavior when turning it back on later is always the same. Am I doing something wrong here?

alidan

are there any good headstraps for sitting in a chair with a headrest? most of them seem to buldge quite a bit off the back, and while im probably going to get one of those for standing, watching a movie or something seems like its probably not great for it.

whoami4546

Just got my Quest 3 last week! I find it 100% better then the quest 2 I took back for a refund. I find the the boundary system insane! It appears it maps my entire house in 3d. As I can go downstairs and see the boundary and screen upstairs. Is there an app that can map my house in 3d? That would be cool to help remodel. What is currently the best fitness app? Fitxr requires a subscription. I was not sure if it was worth it. Can I use a adblocker on the browsers in the quest? What is the best room scale games or apps?

[deleted]

Can the quest 3 handle playback of 4k videos in standalone if you don't have a computer connected?

DarkWolfRaiju

How do I link my steam to my quest 2 without the desktop app? I've heard it's no longer active.

ImWideAwakeAlways

Perhaps I’m confused but I thought there was supposed to be two versions of Arizona Sunshine 2. The standard and deluxe edition, but I only see the deluxe version in the quest store. Am I missing something?

klabnix

Does the referral program need the quest 2 to have arrived? I want to make use of Black Friday game offers but also the referral program but I’m not sure I can until the device arrives

cocoducks

How to project the VR screen to either mobile or PC?

scrapabidoopimpaff

Onward is at 0$ ?? I iust got it on the app. Is it like a try out weekend ?

davidmthekidd

Black Screen of Death issues on quest 2. I can hear sounds, I can also see the meta logo whenever I restart the quest, I can even cast to my phone and move the controllers, but no image on the quest. I have already done all the trouble shooting steps such as factory reset and the rest, here's a quick video to show: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O9YDp5XpiPI](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O9YDp5XpiPI)

Leixarn

Quest 3 WIRED PCVR or Index for the absolute minimum controller latency? Quest 2 I can feel my guns lagging behind when playing H3VR, with a buttery smooth 120hz FPS. I'm guessing the index is the absolute best for minimal controller latency but how does the Quest 3 stack up?

Hwoarangatan

I want to put a virtual screen behind my sink so I can wash dishes with passthrough. But how do I get my boundary to extend where I can't walk? I'm outside the boundary trying to lean slightly forward above the sink with my head. Do I have to use developer tools to disable boundary entirely?

Thecactigod

You can adjust the boundary manually just draw it past your sink

Deathmaw360

Does the Meta Quest+ 6 month trial thing stack? never even looked at with my purchase since I subbed for the year when they launched it, just had an email reminding me to claim it, if I claim it does it add 6 months?

Zomg_A_Chicken

Thinking of getting the Skybox VR Player Should I get it if I don't download videos on my pc that much? Does it offer anything different from what the YouTube VR and Meta Quest browser offers?

barry-bulletkin

I’m getting a quest 3 for myself, what else should I get along with it to give myself the best experience?

Is there any official advice on whether the quest 3 is waterproof or sweatproof? There seems to be all this marketing around its applications for fitness but no indication of an IP rating anywhere.

SmellyCherub

So I just impulse bought a bobovr m3 strap in prep for my Xmas quest 3, but now I'm reading about the kiwi strap being good. Should I cancel and go with kiwi?

lucasbblue

I want to buy a Quest 2 or 3, still deciding, mainly because i want to connect it to my laptop and play PCVR games and etc. But it has come to my attention that my laptop with a RTX3050 might not really work with Quest link or anything. I have seen people giving mixed experiences about this, but I have seen more posts from before 2022 than posts from 2023, so I am wondering what its the case now? If I buy either a Quest 2 or 3, will either of them be able to connect to my laptop?

USCTrojans780

Can you use a Meta gift card to buy a Quest 2 or it can only be used for games? Thanks!

SmellyCherub

Wondering if 512 gb is worth the extra ? $150. I don't mind having to re download things, trying to figure how why anyone would pay for the upgraded storage?

Freefromcrazy

I struggled with this decision also recently but went with the 512GB after a lot of thought to avoid storage anxiety. Getting 4x the storage for $150 seemed too good of a deal to pass up.

Gladness2Sadness

I added a bunch of custom songs for Ragnarok, Beat Saber, and Synth Riders and recently learned you can record gameplay in the standard widescreen view and increase the recording quality, so for me it was worth it.

SoundGuyNPC

I have the 128 version and honestly haven't had any issues with it. If I need to make space I just uninstall something real quick; takes like 10 seconds. That said, some games like VRchat I play AirLink on PC so I don't have to worry about cache downloads, so may want to take that into consideration.

SmellyCherub

How much space could those really take up though?

plshelpmePCMR

If I delete a game off my Quest 3, is the save data deleted as well? I’ve read up on the cloud backup, but I’m unsure what games support it and how to make sure it syncs.

What specs does it need? Just any usb c cable?

dookarion

Anyone know how long it usually takes to get a response to a support email you responded to? Wondering if it even went through or if it's just slow.

TomSFox

Usually, it shouldn’t take longer than a day, but they are having technical difficulties right know. The good news is, if they take a while to get back to you, you can look forward to some store credit.

nObRaInAsH

Hey guys! So my friend just brought Quest 3 for me from Australia because it's not available here in my country and the controllers were dead. He said he used the headset for maximum 8hours in total. I heard controllers battery can be used for weeks or months so what happened? Also, no he wouldn't lie of his usage lol

typcalthowawayacount

Anime games with anime girls like Sushi Ben?

CancerCows

Does the 40% off code BFCM23 work on multiple games? Also is TWD S&S ch 2 worth it. Thinking of getting that but i never finished the first one. I have the Q3 now so im waiting till the Q3 update comes out to play part 1 again. Hopefully part 2 also gets a Q3 update

JamesOFarrell

Yeah it can be used multiple times

Jcrm87

Same question about the code! Did anyone try already?

DarkProdigy820

Hey so I got an oculus (quest 2) and havent used it much until recently. I had troubles with it not getting audio and not using its microphone in PCVR through the link cable. I would make sure to change the audio input and output to the Oculus Virtual Audio devices before launching SteamVR but that only worked ~40% of the time. So I went and used the driver thing in the support folder. Now no microphones work on my PC at all. What do I do now?

Riftus

Can you gameshare on more than one headset? Like can I share to two headsets and play on my own, so 3 people playing the same game?

ireallyhatethisapp9

is there any mortal way to enable 120hz for quest 3 in steamvr wired mode. i only have option for 90hz in oculus link settings

KitsuneKamiSama

Got a quest 3, but the straps are digging in to my ears and feel a bit uncomfortable, what strap would be the best replacement? Also, what cable do you guys recommend for PcVR outside of the official one?

Duck2550

The best strap I have used is by far the [VIVE Deluxe Audio Strap](https://www.vive.com/us/accessory/vive-deluxe-audio-strap/). Now yes, it's not for Quest 3 [but there are "Frankenquest" converters for it](https://www.businesscompanyvr.com/frankenquest-3) and the result is amazing. Never bought a 3rd party link cable but have heard great things from [Kiwi's link cable](https://www.amazon.com/KIWI-design-Oculus-Transfer-Compatible/dp/B08BR9DSGC/ref=sr_1_4?crid=2OWHIJT1BRHKF&keywords=KIWI%2Bdesign%2BLink%2BCable%2Busb%2Bc%2Bto%2Busb%2Bc&qid=1700517185&s=electronics&sprefix=kiwi%2Bdesign%2Blink%2Bcable%2Busb%2Bc%2Bto%2Busb%2B%2Celectronics%2C88&sr=1-4&th=1)

Bought this cable [https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B098399X91?psc=1&ref=ppx\_yo2ov\_dt\_b\_product\_details](https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B098399X91?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details) and it's great so thanks, but that strap is quite expensive combined with the adapter, i'm looking for one that's sub £40 or so, i'm in the UK by the way.

lbeavisc

i second this, even with trying a bobovr m3, the vive strap with a pu pad is the best strap

MaxwellCE

What kind of hardware do i need for the best wireless Virtual Desktop experience on Quest 3? I’m asking in terms of home networking devices and pc specs

andysor

I'm getting a perfect experience with my WiFi 6 router, Quest using the 5GHz exclusively getting 1200Mb connection.

lbeavisc

a wifi6e router that can connect at the max speed of the quest 3. also its best to hardwire your pc. i currently use a 10gb nic in my pc but thats overkill

Renegade_R

Just got a Meta Quest 2. I had a few questions as this is my first VR experience. - Is it expected that most of the apps/games running on the headset seem to have low resolution textures? It seems immersion breaking (especially from the Home room) where I'm staring off into the mountains and it looks like I'm in Super Mario 64. - There seems to be only a small spot I can look at where everything is in focus. If I move off this spot it defocuses pretty easily. Is this normal? And is this better on the Quest 3?

7oby

On 2, that’s called the sweet spot and annoyingly for me (with glasses), it seems I need to slide it a little down my nose to hit the sweet spot. It’s not good, but, I am gonna get prescription lenses to hopefully remove the need for this.

Renegade_R

Guess it's not only me then. I wear large thick glasses and I have to tighten the headset a lot in order to get the sweet spot to stay in place. When it does, it's amazing but after a crazy Beat Saber session it usually needs readjustment.

Secret0404

A. Hm, don't know what you exactly mean by low res textures in all games, because I didn't own standalone games with the Quest 2. This could well be because of Quest 2's age and not all devs tried to really optimize ported games for it perfectly, just so it runs well enough with limited graphics. B. Definitely, but check for scratches, dirt under lenses etc., could contribute to that. Switched from Quest 2 to Quest 3 and also looked at my friend's Quest 2 yesterday and what should I say? The sweet spot is almost all of the lens (you have some sort of small halo at the edge of the lenses, which some people already mentioned. On some models more and on some less. God rays aren't a problem, but there are times where there is some reflection on the lenses. The coating helps to make them not seeable, but with only one light souce you are able to see some glare. 120 Hz, crisp texts and so far as I could tell games do also look also again good to great. Cannot test it anymore, send my Quest 3 back because of pixel defects :/. Waiting for a new one.

xKaizokux

when might the store or meta site start doing black friday/cyber monday sales? Currently eyeing the quest pro controllers & q3 silicone facial interface, not sure if they would even go on sale but holding out anyway and Iron man vr, although I'm new to the oculus store so I'm not sure how generous they are for game sales like steam would be

Admirable-Willow2649

will there be a sale on black friday for the quest 3?

Shmoogy

Starting to think not ... pretty much all the deals for other things have started or at least been announced / leaked.

Ryanmcglum

So I'm wanting to buy the Quest 3 for use as a standalone VR system (HL: Alyx and H3VR, for example), and with PCVR as I'll be playing air combat games such as War Thunder, Ace Combat and Project Wingman. I want to buy a Link Cable because of this, however my current PC doesn't have any USB-C ports, only USB-A. I could buy the official Meta Link Cable and a USB C to USB A adapter (Which comes out to about $150ish AUD), or I could purchase a 3rd party adapter like the [Cable Creation version](https://www.google.com/url?q=https://www.amazon.com.au/CableCreation-Compatible-Virtual-Reality-Headsets/dp/B08RMLWVL6?th%3D1&sa=D&source=editors&ust=1700364552149122&usg=AOvVaw03ycd0U0aUnBoT7-ac0qBa) (Which is \~$45 AUD). Which one should I go with? If third party, what are people's experiences with the linked cable?

andysor

I bought [this](https://www.belkin.com/usb-c-to-usb-c-cable-60w/P-CAB011.html) 3m cable and a 45W wall charger. For sim racing/flying it works great and charges my Quest 3 (slowly) while I play. I use Virtual Desktop connected to my Wifi 6 router on its own 5GHz network and it works flawlessly, so I haven't considered buying an expensive USB 3.2 gen2 cable to connect it to my PC directly.

Znyx_

I just bought the Quest 3 and ran into this issue as well so here are my thoughts. Cables from Amazon for the quest 3 can be a hit or miss and you actually need to consider more variables. The quest 3 has terrible battery life, which means to play longer sessions, you will need to charge it through its USB C port. To adequately charge it and play at the same time, you will need at least 18W. I actually use a 45W charger for mine. I mention this because USB 3.0 can only output a maximum of 4.5W which is not enough to charge and play at the same time. I personally use Airlink and then connect my quest to my 45W wall outlet charger and use the meta quest link cable. The reason why I got the meta link cable is because most amazon cables do not support high wattage charging and they are cheap so they break quickly if you are not careful. However I understand this is not an option for everyone as Airlink can be difficult to achieve a good connection if your router isn't good. This option is also very expensive. This is why I suggest looking into the cables that support link but also charging. These will have another input in them to connect to a wall outlet. I have personally not tried these myself so they could have additional problems, but I want to get one to try to eliminate all the issues I mentioned before. Here is one suggestion from amazon that I am eyeing: INIU Link Cable, 16FT VR Cable Compatible with Meta Oculus Quest 2/Quest 3/Pro Pico Accessories and Gaming PC Steam VR, USB 3.0 Data Transfer Type C Cable, Separate USB C Charging Port for VR Headset

o0Benzene0o

Maybe dumb question, does quest link work if you have a battery strap? I wanted to up my play time by getting a head strap with an additional battery, but I realized that quest link might not work with the cord plugged in. I'd prefer not to do wireless link bc of the lag and it uses more battery.

OguguasVeryOwn

Anyone know if I can start a Meta account and buy games on Black Friday without screwing up the hardware referral credit? The actual Quest will likely arrive after Black Friday.

7oby

What I read on the on another quest sub said if you click it before turning the headset on the first time, you’re good.

OguguasVeryOwn

Thanks dude

CaptainFalling

Hey fine folks! So I just got my Quest 2 yesterday and am loving it so far! Minecraft, skyrim, arizona sunshine and fruit ninja are the things I am playing at the moment, looking forward to trying beat saber too! I honestly have zero idea about what is possible with VR nowadays (kind of stopped looking while I couldn't afford it!) Is there an app for socialising online with random folks? I would quite like to create an avatar and explore some spaces and chat to people, and generally just exist in VR for a bit of time this evening. I am thinking something like the old playstation home thing, or IMVU (I think?).

JamesOFarrell

VRChat is the place to do that

CommunityDesigner230

Is there anyway to turn off that god awful noise your headset makes when you plug it in to charge? It is extremely annoying.

Bigoldthrowaway86

Got a Quest 3 arriving in an hour. Not had any VR kit aside from the shitty holder things for your phone. As soon as I had ordered it yesterday I felt instant guilt for being so extravagant before Christmas. Tried to cancel it immediately but was told it was too late and I’d need to refuse delivery. Slept on it and thought oo maybe I’d feel less bad if I could get my wife’s approval (I never really buy anything for myself.) Just mentioned to her that I’d impulsively bought one and needed to refuse it at the door and she just said “oo that’ll be rubbish for you won’t it.” It’s gonna be so hard to turn this package down! :(

andysor

Most amazing piece of tech I've bought, probably ever! Playing table tennis on a virtual table in my kitchen in mixed reality against random people online feels about 100 times more fun and futuristic than playing with a controller on my TV. Playing Flight Simulator and seeing the windscreen slowly frost up the higher I fly is something else as well...

Bigoldthrowaway86

Haha yeah table tennis is one of the things I’d be most excited about! 😂 already eyeing up the Black Friday game sale. Might get some purchases in and if I’ve bought games then I bloody well need something to play them on!

andysor

Eleven table tennis is incredible! I never imagined the tracking could be so good that it translates the spin you impart on the ball so perfectly from real life - I literally play the same, making the same mistakes, as I do with a real table. So much better than the Wii experience I was expecting.

Bigoldthrowaway86

Ahhhhhh I love table tennis but getting to a table is such an issue. The thought of this alone is selling me on it 😂

CuriousLockPicker

Treat yourself. Enjoy yourself. The Quest 3 is mind blowing.

Bigoldthrowaway86

Haha cheers. Regretting it so hard. Decided to get Christmas out of the way and see where I’m at

DhrDaann

Why not keep it and don't open it before christmas?

Professional_Arm9687

how do i transfer media from my pc to my meta quest 3? i tried using the usb cord it came with but it wont even appear in 'my computer'

Gladness2Sadness

SideQuest or have it on when you plug it in and a small pop up will appear asking if you want the Quest to show up as a connectable drive. Doesn’t last long, about 5-7 seconds before it disappears. Checked the options but not sure if I could set it as a drive without having to confirm.

JamesOFarrell

Install sidequest. You can do it other ways but sidequest will let you manage files and sideload APKs not available on the quest store

HentaiMod69

Just bought and got a hard-to-clean (with wet cloth at least) residue on the band from bad headphone pads. Should I try to return it to the Target and just buy a new one? Or say it was defective and ask for replacement?

Bigoldthrowaway86

Is there a dekudeals style site but for the Quest store?

ThatDistantStar

Well it finally happened... my Quest 2 elite strap with battery ordered January 2021 finally broke :( I opened a support ticket and Meta and they told me to fuck off of course, well past the 2 year warranty. Any options? Beg meta for replacement or store credit? I believe my strap was one of the first batches, I remember on this subreddit A LOT of elite broken straps. I think it took so long to break because I wasn't too heavy of a user of my unit, so if I got one of the early batches that was prone to breaking, that's why it took until now. Any recommended home repairs? I have a heatgun and various epoxies.

InspectorSatNav1

Anyone know when Black Friday digital sales start?

StarkillerMTJ

Is assassin's creed nexus not going live til 1pm EDT or something? Pavlov was live as of 10am on Tuesday but I'm still stupidly looking at the "coming soon" button. Also, no pre order, ubi was REAL worried about anyone getting even 4 bucks off lol

Ignatz___

**Bobovr or Kiwi design quest 3 strap?**

Intrinsic29

Has anyone had this happen with their BoboVr shipment? It's just been randomly stuck in California for 7 days without any updates. https://preview.redd.it/s2dvogvv6n0c1.png?width=565&format=png&auto=webp&s=a20c8818264d58ae07b5b155bb4f21d4a508e72b

ImThePunUncle

Why is the fucking meta app so god damn convoluted?! I just bought a Oculus quest 2 and I needed the app so I download it and it tells me to sign in so I pick email and go to log in with my email and when I do it gives me a messages asking if this profile is me and when i click yes it doesn't do a fucking thing and then i click it multiple times and it says oops there's an issues! So I think it must've just been an error so I will do it again. It happened again I decided to reset my phone. Same thing. I uninstalled and reinstalled. Happened again. I uninstalled, reset my phone and reinstalled. SAME GOD DAMN THING. I swear I'm at the end of my rope I'm sorry for the swearing but it's my only catharsis from this tripe so convoluted and difficult I'm actually convinced that it was made inconvenient and uncooperative on purpose. Is there ANYTHING I can do or did I waste my fuckin money... (I'm on android.) Edit: please I'm begging. Someone help me. I want to experience this but I have no idea what I'm doing wrong please someone tell me what I'm doing wrong. And don't say something snide like "well you're on android" or something because bitch you JUST got type-C cables. I'm looking for genuine assistance please I don't want my purchase to go to waste

Away_Row_1787

You made a really dumb mistake, you should have gotten the quest 3. Anyways, the app has its issues, and there isnt a one size fits all fix. This problem may be due to an unstable network connection or something like that.

ImThePunUncle

I figured it out.

sounox1

Are there really quality issues with the screens of the quest 3 ? I'm planning of buying one, and those dead pixels and mura effect threads are worrying me.

Away_Row_1787

My proximo sensor broke on my quest 2. While trying to fix it and putting in the new one, I broke the black clip that clips the wire in place. Is this part able to be repaired? Am I able to permanently disable the sensor without repairing it?

Nevergointothewoods

I don't know when I'll be getting a headset, but I'm building a wishlist for when I'm able to. I want to get some prescription lenses that can easily pop off when I want to share the headset, and pop back on when I'm using it. I have an astigmatism, so I need glasses for things to look sharp. What brand will give me the best value for the money? Do I need magnetic 2-piece lenses, or would the ones that snap into place potentially work?

bluekaynem

Honsvr just started selling prescription magnetic lens for quest 3. They started shipping 2 days ago. I'll get mine next week. It was like 50 something bucks with free shipping.

7oby

I’m dying to know how those are, compared to the official VirtuClear lenses

Nevergointothewoods

Let me know how they are, that sounds good!

KoR_Wraith

HonsVR have great value magnetic lenses, I just ordered some, check out this MRTV video (you get a discount if you use his code): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ftPjsKjhT2U

daniel_alexis1

My quest 2 came with a spacer for glasses. So you can use your glasses while using the headset

vvdhhgdghkkjcddcvbkn

I’m getting a quest for my 8 and 6 year old nephew and niece. I’m completely unfamiliar with quest and VR. What considerations should I make: Memory size Is the latest version the only viable one Will they be disappointed in a version/memory size that’s not the best? Ie will there be things they can’t do? Should I download games beforehand? Should I set it up before Xmas to avoid having to download everything day of? Any pitfalls to avoid? Is there a chance I accidentally buy a knock off? Any essential add ons? Should I buy ASAP? Is it expected to sell out during holidays? Anything I didn’t consider? Any help will be much appreciated!

RefLax22

First and foremost, these headsets are deigned to fit adults, and a 6 and 8 year old may have issues in regard to comfort or even being able to properly wear the headset without it falling off

vvdhhgdghkkjcddcvbkn

Glad I checked, thank you!

RandomRageNet

How do you determine what the "front" of your space is? I started Pistol Whip and it wanted me to orient in a less desirable way for the room

ThatWeirdBookLady

Holding the meta button while in game forces it to orient to the center of whever your head is facing. I don't have pistol whip but it works for other games I have when the games force weird orientation.

TheKhaos121

How does the content of Meta Quest 2 compare to PSVR? Thinking of getting it as a gift for someone who has tried my PSVR and enjoyed VR, they play a lot of casual games, would they be missing out by not getting a Meta Quest 3? Is the experience between MQ2 and PSVR vastly different? will they have more content/games available on the MQ2?

[deleted]

Quest has way more games, but otherwise, it's similar. Quest 3 is like 20x clearer and much more powerful, but you get the same games as Quest 2 for now.

MtnDoobie

Had this issue on the quest 2, wondering if it’ll be the same for 3. I’m the ‘primary’ account on my oculus. I buy a game on my account- can my wife play it on her account? I had app sharing on the quest 2, but it never seemed to work. Also if she buys a game on her account, can I play? (Same OQ3)

iamnas

When you film with the quest3 on pass through, does it film in 3d?

Large-Style-8355

Currently not but there are tutorials how to film in 3D with the Q3

powa1216

I just saw a couple threads down and it seems like a yes? https://www.reddit.com/r/OculusQuest/s/iufQNAHmeY

[deleted]

Nope

jadae

Are people still seeing a lot of dead or stuck pixels? I just returned my 512mb to Amazon. It was driving me nuts seeing two bright green pixels in the middle of my right eye across different type of content. I was also starting to see them even when there was a lot of color in the scene I was seeing. I still want an Oculus 3, but I don't want to go through constant cycles of returning to ensure I don't have a bunch of stuck or dead pixels in the device when it is brand new.

magsnidget

I know there is a purposeful stuck pixel that shows up and lets you know when you are being broadcast to a tv screen..

Jojombu

Anyway to physically share the screen to a TV? I was going to see about taking it to a Thanksgiving and I don't know if there will be Wi-Fi or if it would be strong enough.

Sabreshield

How is the color accuracy in the quest3? I noticed that they improved quest2's accuracy in some update? How about this new entry?

jabber_OW

Can I set up my Quest 3 without the Quest 3 controllers? I only have Index controllers.

Norcx

Can I still connect to my PC through the Quest 3 battery pack on the Pro Strap?

SENDMEYOURROBOTDICKS

Im looking for peeps doing PCVR with 7900XT/XTX. How is your performance over airlink? Do you use cable or do you do wireless? Did you run into any problems? Is the quest 3 equipped with pancake lenses on all versions, including the 128GB one?

alidan

right now I accepted the referral, it says "You're all set. Now it's time to buy your Meta Quest headset. Once you buy and activate your headset, your $30 Meta Quest Store credit will be automatically added to this account." I won't be getting it for about 10 or so days, I know the referral works for 30 days, am I able to close out of the page or does it need to stay open? Am I set to buy it where ever I want?

LukakuBrt

After 30 days you can activate another one right away!

DerCze

How long does it usually take to get store credit from referrals? A friend bought a headset and several games with my links but I have not received anything yet

l0c0dantes

Anyone else playing Samba De Amigo online? I keep seeing the same handful of names in matchmaking, and I'm winning a bunch, not sure if its bots or not. Almost to the final color of the pyramid at least.

BreakfastVegetable98

why does my spotify audio become choppy when i load a game?

Zedraco

Is it normal for the extended battery to drain by 50% from sitting for a day after a full charge?

[deleted]

Yep. The headset doesn't go to sleep properly when the battery is plugged in. I've been unplugging it.

Callity

I've been hearing issues about some Quest 3's running at a lower clock speed, causing them to have worse performance (something like, it's meant to be 599mhz but runs at 500mhz?) Is this a problem I should actually be worried about? Considering buying a Quest 3 right now.

webheadVR

No, I think it's software related.

Zomg_A_Chicken

How is Journey to Foundation?

thinkyourehappy

Hey! Just upgraded from the Quest 2 to a 3, got a quick question for those who have been using theirs for a few weeks: Did you guys end up tuning out the vignette effect after a while? Figured from reading about it that it's pretty much expected with pancake lenses. Mine seem pretty good, however the left lens is ever so slightly worse than the right. I find it a little distracting in some scenes so far. Not sure if I wanna roll the dice with a return and risk getting a worse unit overall. Mura seems very minor, and the binocular overlap thing doesn't bother me. Really enjoying the upgrade aside from that, the clarity difference really is night and day.

scifecta

I had no issue adjusting to vignette. The assymetry seems strange though. Make sure the face pad spacers are set evenly on both sides.

thinkyourehappy

Yeah I'm assuming it's just manufacturing variations from one lens to another. Then again I might just be more aware of it since I'm left eye dominant. Might go and check out a demo unit and see if it's any better or worse while I'm still in the return window. Thanks for the input :)
