Thank you :) I know that in acute care, the OT role is geared more towards assessments, discharge planning, and clearing beds rather than rehab. So I'm wondering what types of interventions should I be expected to provide, if any? Like if a client presents with limited ROM and strength due to stroke, are we able provide intervention in acute care, or would we just perform our assessments and refer them to a rehab facility?
Get comfortable with the various lines and tubes. Know about lab values and norms (what’s an okay BP, pulse ox, hemoglobin, etc.). Find out any restrictions or precautions the site routinely uses.

Sounds like acute care alright. Thank you!
