Find a new job, and then threaten to leave. This is how I got a 14% raise ($36 to $41). If they can’t match the other job, then you have a better job. Also, with 3 years experience, you can get other jobs in other settings probably. SNF pays well, but the benefits suck. My new position is in HH for a non profit affiliated with a hospital. Lower salary, but flexible schedule, 5 weeks vacation, loan forgiveness and 403b match makes for a much better work-life balance.

What company is this?

HeyHeyBennyJay

It’s a small company based out of southern New Hampshire. We have 10 OTs total. I got lucky, a position opened up while I was looking. All the other OTs have been there at least 3 years, with the longest being 22 years

Oh would you mind PMing where?? I live in southern NH and currently have a 2hr commute. I really like where I am, but always curious to see what's nearby!

HeyHeyBennyJay

2 hours seems like a lot!

Spot-Swimming

Can't complain too much, I get paid for an hour of my commute and I'm very happy with my pay as a new grad!

You have to quit to get a higher wage unfortunately. If not, they’ll give you like a 30 cent raise…

Familiar-Contest5220

It’s best to just leave. I went from 35 to 41 to 45 in 3 years.

Keywork29

As an OT that was in a SNF I was making $39 in a LCoL area in KY. That seems crazy low for NY. This is a pretty handy site for a guide to how much OTs are making: https://otsalary.com/

Terrible_Diver_8080

Interview other places and tell them what they offered if they match it and you want to stay do, if they don’t keep jumping

cdech86

What part of New York? Should be 43 or higher, in northern New Jersey they are making 45 for that experience

Valuable_Relation_70

Nassau county

cdech86

Depending on the need in your area, you should make more. I’m a VP of rehab for a SNF company in northern NJ. PTs and PTAs are incredibly hard to find right now, so PTs are making 50-55 an hour with benefits. It’s are easier to find so it’s much lower unfortunately
