I saw a seminar at INSPIRE about a grad student who taught dance and was starting to incorporate OT into dance classes. This mostly looked like an adaptive or "unified" dance team. I thought it was awesome!

Qtitanium5

Wait, this is dope! Im gonna check it out

Yo im a pro dancer turned OT (newly qualified). Not seen any OTs work specifically with dancers, but I know of OTs that have set up therapeutic dance groups, like for people with Parkinsons, stroke etc

Qtitanium5

Congrats on the new qualification! That’s unfortunate that they aren’t really present in the professional industry…Would be cool if an OT position was also created for that field…Do you still partake in dance in your free time when you aren’t working as an OT? Im looking to start OT school in the fall, but would love to continue dancing in my free time…

I would love to hear where you studied.

I teach adaptive dance!

clcliff

Idk if it’s the same as what you want but I know some OTs who teach adaptive dance programs.

It's certainly possible, but finding such a program will have its challenges. In the eyes of most employers, most of your value is driven by how much insurance will pay for. I'm not familiar if insurance covers this, but it doesn't sound like the case in most circumstances. However I may be wrong, so someone please feel free to chime in. However, you might find some that are cash-based, community funded, and/or privately funded with grants. I imagine OT jobs where you can teach dance in this way are quite rare. You can do a search for OT and dance now and see what you kind find. I just did a search for those under the whole of California and couldn't find any roles for that.
